welcome back everybody to the sprinkler channel today we're going to be talking about a new sprinkler head that we haven't gone over yet and that is the hunter pgp sprinkler rotor head and this sprinkler head the pgp is comparable to the rain bird 5000 so this one's made by rain bird and the one we're going over right now is made by hunter so we're going to go over how to adjust this head which tools you're going to need so let's get started important thing to note is the tool that you're going to need to be able to adjust this head and it's this this guy right here you can pick it up at your sprinkler store when you pick up your rotor head with the pgp you have a couple different things on top of the head that you're going to want to to know how to use and the first thing is as the pull-out slot so with this end we're going to put it in this slot right here we're just going to slide it in right in like that and then if you just pull up like that it's going to pull right back out so what we'll want to do is turn it 90 degrees and then you can pull it out like that all right so if it was in the in the ground like that you're just going to pull it up like that where you see this little triangle right there um you're going to want to use this hexagon uh end of it and and once again you gotta find to make sure it fits down into the slot just right um and then as you get in that slot you start screwing you'll see the screw that's starting to go down and that screw is what's going to hold your nozzle in there keep it from blowing out and also that nozzle if it's screwed down enough it will start shortening the distance that the water spraying now for adjusting the most important part you can remember about hunter is that it's the opposite of rain bird uh when it comes to the fixed side so the right side is the fixed part when we're talking about rotating so when we adjust the arc or how much it rotates around left or right degrees that right side is going to stay fixed and as we make the adjustments it's the left side that's going to open up uh as we're you know behind the sprinkler head watching it spray out right so we'll want to line the right side up to our fence line or our sidewalk path or what or along the house or what not flower beds and then adjust it according to how much we need it whether it's 90 degrees or 180 degrees or more this will the ark can be anywhere from 40 degrees to uh 360 degrees so let's dive into how are we going to adjust that radius so right now let's on from the top we can rotate it all the way to the right so that's the fixed point facing the right and then as we rotate it okay so we're looks like we're less than 180 but close so that's the right point and you're just going to want to look at that triangle to know where the nozzle is going to be spraying now on the top we have if we turn it to the right it's going to increase the arc if we turn it to the left or counterclockwise it's going to decrease the arc so let's say we wanted to bring it down to 90 degrees so important to know is use this side we're going to have to find the slot that that goes into to be able to adjust fit so once again uh put it in there and then you're gonna have to kind of feel around until it drops down you see that so it's gonna rotate and then it drops down like that so now we're in the groove we can start adjusting the head and so in this case we want to decrease the arc amount it sprays around so we're going to do it uh counterclockwise just like that just a little bit you don't have to crank it a lot and then just go back now our fixed position is facing right here our right position's there and we're going to rotate it we can see it coming around and it stops probably about 95 or 100 degrees arc so once again just you can just go back in there find that groove you can leave that in there if you want as you're adjusting it and then just a little more uh to decrease it and then there we have 90 degrees so you see it starts out on the right and then boom so that's like if we were in the corner of the grass area we just needed 90 degrees and we do it just like that so go to the right go back and then you can turn on the sprinkler and see if it's still performing the same way so that's that's your hunter pgp just one last recap here that's the this slot right here is to be able to pull the sprinkler head up you'll put it in there pull it out like that this uh triangle part is for the screw at the nozzle to be able to shorten the distance if we don't want it hitting the fence or the house then we can shorten the distance to a certain amount you can also change out the nozzle if it's just overkill and that will help shorten the distance we'll talk about that here in a second and then and then to adjust the amount that it rotates left and right is the plus and minus slot right there and you'll use that end of it so just remember hunter is fixed on the right when you're talking about rotor heads and then you you'll open up on the left so that will stay fixed and we'll be adjusting just the left so one last thing that i forgot to mention that i wanted to mention about the pgp is the inlet in the in the bottom of the pgp which is the same as the rain bird 5000 which is three quarter inch so you'll want your three quarter inch funny pipe elbow to be able to connect it in to your funny pipe and then and then and to your pvc so just make note of that one other thing to note too is there's no removable filter in the pgp just like the rain bird 5000 it's not like the rainbow 3500 or something that has a removable filter so the filter is built in it's not removable and you shouldn't have to worry about that hope that helps leave a comment below if you have any questions or there's something else that we can help clarify or teach you about and thanks for watching we'll catch you in the next one
