- Hi guys, I'm Lauren, and in this video, I'll be showing you how
to add closed captions to Canva videos. Now, I wanna be totally upfront with you. If you are looking to
add automatic captions, that can't be done within Canva, you have to add them manually. So if you wanna add automatic captions, please feel free to skip
forward to this time stamp where I'll show you how
to add closed captions automatically using VEED. With that said, let's get straight into the video. We're gonna open up Canva's homepage, and under what will you design today, you'll see you've got
several different options, but we're gonna click on videos. Now, you can choose from
any of these options. I'm gonna go for the first one. Now in the left hand tool column, you'll see uploads. Click on it and click upload files. Choose a video that you
wanna add closed captions to and just give that a
moment here to upload. And once it's finished, you can just click on it and then drag the corners and
sides out to fill that frame. Now, to add closed captions, click text in the left hand column and click add a heading. Type in your very first subtitle. Lovely, now we can change
the position on screen, we can change the size, we can change the font, the color, and we can even add an effect. And once we've picked all of that, I'm happy with that. I think that looks really good. The next thing we need
to do is split the clips. So let me show you how to do that. We're gonna pull our player
head back to the very start. We're gonna play the video and then hit pause right
after the first sentence. Now right click your mouse and you'll see an option
here to split the page. Select it, and your video is now separated into two different videos. We're gonna play it to
hear the next sentence, pause it, now do the same thing again, right click on the line to split the clip, and then we can go back and we can change that closed caption, just type it out now. And we're just gonna keep repeating this the whole way through the video. So our play ahead will be at
the beginning of the next clip. We're gonna play it, hit pause after the sentence, right click, hit split page, and now edit the text. Just double click on it and
type out the correct sentence. And just keep repeating this the whole way through the video. Now our entire video has captions, we can go ahead and we can download it. So to do that, just click share in the
top right hand corner and scroll down to download. It's already preempted
that our video is MP4, so that's perfect, and all pages slash
clips have been selected, that's just what we need. All you gotta do is click download, and that's it. That's how to add closed
captions using Canva. Now, for a much faster, easier way, let me show you how to add
automatic captions using VEED. All you gotta do is click the
first link in the description to get started. Now we're in VEED, we're going to click upload a file, choose the video that you
wanna add closed captions to and give that a moment to upload. Now in the left hand tool bar, click subtitles, click auto subtitle, choose your language and
click create subtitles. Give that a moment here to work. And once it's finished, you need to watch it through once just to check for anywhere
that it might have misheard any of the words that you've said. If that has happened, just click on the word that's wrong, delete it and type out the correct word. Next, we can click on the
styles tab up the top. And up here, you've got a
load of animated templates that you can select from. Once you've picked your favorite, you can customize it by changing the font. You can increase or decrease the size, you can change the text color, you can even add an effect. Perfect, that's looking great now so all we're gonna do is export it. Just click export in the
top right hand corner, choose your render settings, make sure burn subtitles is marked as on, and then just click export video. Give that a moment here to render. Once it's finished, watch it all the way through just once just to make sure you're happy with it. And if you're happy with it, all that's left to do is click
download and download MP4. And that's it. That's how to add close
captions on Canva manually and how to add close captions
automatically using VEED. I really hope you found
this video helpful, guys. If you did, go on and give us a like, subscribe for more editing content, and leave me any comments
or questions down below, and I'll get back to
you as soon as possible. Thank you so much for watching and I hope to see you
in the next one, bye.
