[Music] foreign thank you so much for joining me today today we're going to be doing a video showcasing a technique that I've seen here on YouTube but never done so let's go ahead and get right into it okay Step One is already done it is primed and ready to go we are moving on to step two which is the paint I'm gonna lay down two coats of paint as soon as that's done we move on to the fun part where we start to see this look come together so we are all painted and we are ready for our next step the fun part okay so now we're at the fun part where the decorative finish comes in now I'm using something a little different than some of the others that have done this look they use a glaze I'm using a stain and finishing oil I'm so familiar with this product I've used it so many times the best part about it is it has a 10 minute open time it's got a built-in top coat and it's going to give us the same you also have our deck brush and our broom which is going to give us the final look now all right so let's get started so it's more about how you take it off than you put it on all I'm doing right now is applying the stain and finishing oil with a simple foam brush and there's really no method to my madness you don't have to apply it perfectly you just have to apply it covering the entire portion that you want this look to be achieved on [Music] [Music] all right here comes the next step the deck brush so this is where you start to see the look come together now we have a lot of product on there and I will tell you some things do fly into it as you can see I just took my fingers and got out what was in there the thing to remember with using this particular product is you have a 10 minute open time that means you've got 10 minutes before it starts to get tacky and you need to stop which gives you so much time to play with the finish so what I'm doing here is just removing a lot of the finish and as you see I dabbing on a paper towel that is something that would definitely have on hand because you don't want to load up your deck brush so much that all you're doing is spreading it around you want to offload some of that product onto your paper towel you continue to keep sweeping from one side to the other in the direction that the grain would naturally go or that you want it to go I'm doing my sides and and I'm going back and doing my top so that I can try to get the most even finish I can the thing to keep in mind with this look though is kind of a imperfectly perfect look foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] and here we are at the final step this is where we take our broom and we literally just do a sweeping motion just like you did with the deck brush until you're happy with the way it looks you can continue to take off or leave on as much product as you like and the most awesome part about using this particular product the fusion stain and finishing oil unlike a water-based glaze it is oil based it has that extra open time which allows you to play with your finish and it has a built-in top coat foreign [Music] thank you so much for joining me today I hope this video was fun and helpful for you and thank you for being subscribers if you aren't subscribed make sure you go hit that subscription button so you're notified when all of my latest videos come out thank you again and I'll see you on the next video
