Shut up! - I gotta say, Nintendo has really turned themselves around. And fast. 2016 was looking like the end, but now we've got the Nintendo Switch. I know people have been praising this system a lot since its launch, but I just wanna gush about why the Nintendo Switch is mind-blowing. In three. Two. One. [SWITCH CLICKS] - It's a really great portable system. Nah, it's a great home console. Oh yeah. It's a hybrid, and a brilliant one at that. - The marketing is on point. Long gone are the kids in the commercials from the Wii U days. Now we've got teens and young adults. Nintendo finally learned that the kids mostly play FNaF, Minecraft, and Call of Duty. They're targetting the right audience! - This system is hot. I mean, just look at that clean, smooth design. It just feels so good to hold. And I'm still mind-blown that this little device can play games like Breath of the Wild. - Speaking of games, the library is already amazing. We've got Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Sonic Mania, Mario + Rabbids, and that doesn't include what's coming up! Like Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Prime 4, and new Yoshi and Kirby games, Sonic Forces, Xenoblade 2, and a full-fledged Pokémon. Holy crap. - And the indie games are extremely stellar too. Long gone is that shovelware crap from the Wii U era. Now we've got stuff like Mighty Gunvolt Burst, Shovel Knight, Flip Wars, Overcooked: Special Edition, Cave Story+, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and the list goes on and on. - There are still crap games out there like 1-2-
Switch, but they clearly aren't Nintendo's focus anymore. And thank God. - The Joy-Cons are so cool. While a bit small, you've got your buttons and joysticks, plus the accelerometer, gyroscope, NFC reader, and a motion IR camera. And there's even little itty-bitty buttons on the side. The technology is simply astounding. - And the battery life is 20 hours. Which is pretty darn good for controllers with all that stuff inside of it. - HD Rumble might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard of, but it actually works. The rumble actually feels different compared to anything else out there. - The Pro Controller is one of the best controllers Nintendo has ever made. It just feels great in your hands, like, oh my God, it's so meaty! - And you charge the Pro Controller with USB-C? Wha- Nintendo dropped the proprietary bullcrap? Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you. - The tablet is pretty light, making it really easy to hold and play games for several hours without straining your wrists. - Playing online is for free! Well, for now it is. Whether or not the Nintendo Online service will be worth paying for when it comes out, is still a mystery. - The menus are nice and clean looking. It's really easy to navigate. - You can take snapshots at any moment while playing a game and upload them to your Facebook and Twitter. It's so strange seeing Nintendo be so... modern. - While there's only 32 GB of storage, you can add a (micro)SD card up to 2 TB if you need it. - I love the Game Cards. Oh my gosh, they're so tiny and adorable! Just don't put them in your mouth. I mean, I think you already knew that, But... just in case anyone forgot. - The screen's resolution may only be in 720p, but it's still HD. And the games look great. - Skyrim on the Switch. Skyrim on a Nintendo console. I can't believe that's actually a real thing. - While there isn't an Ethernet port on the dock, you still can connect one via USB. And thank God. I was worried that a wired connection wouldn't be available for the Switch at first. - The dock kind of has cable management since there's a door to hide all the cables. That's kind of hilarious. - The Switch box looks so good. I mean, you just hold the thing in your hands, and you're just like, "Yeah. I like this." - The average charge for the Switch is about 3-6 hours. Which is honestly not half bad, considering the types of games being run. - Miis are still a thing on the Switch, and I don't even mind. They're a really nice and easy way to set up avatars for every user. - Oh, and also the tablet is touchscreen. Strangely, Nintendo never really brings this up, but it's really nice, since you aren't always forced to use a controller to navigate menus and whatnot. - It's so much fun just sliding on and off the Joy-Cons. I could do that all day long. - This console is region-free. So if you wanna download that Japanese exclusive game, now you can with an alternate account. No more super expensive importing. - I've left the Switch on for hours at a time, and it has never overheated on me. I've heard some people have had problems with this, and it caused their Switch to bend, but that isn't a common occurrence. - Like-ju-jus- dude. You can play this system anywhere you want. Like, on your bed, or sitting on a couch, or in the bathroom, or while driving, or in a public bathroom, or in a forest, or on the porch, or at a bus stop, or at a backseat of a car! Literally anywhere. - So guys, if you enjoyed this video, then you might like this one about Mario 64 ROM hacks. It's pretty great and I think you'll get a kick out of it.
