How is United Airlines Economy Basic and how does the process work?

so i'm at the united airline basic economy terminal i want to show you guys how the basic economy seat works prepare for united airlines let's go ahead and head inside there's a couple different steps you're going to have to take for this so the seat is cheaper but it is a little more complicated so when you first walk in here you're gonna go to step one and uh this is the fun part so if you go over here if you have economy basic you're only allotted a personal item with that size unless you pay for extra so you want to check the size that's about the size bag that you're going to use for it and then you're going to go over to one of these kiosks over here and you're going to enter your confirmation number now with economy basic you have to do all your checking here you can't do it on the actual app that's the only difference between that and they're gonna give me that option i'm gonna chew and then the representative will come and sign off that i have the correct bag size and then we'll go to the next step then after she verifies it you just hit finish here and it printed out the ticket and because united has a hub in chicago or the hub everything's labeled for numbers so we're going to go to the next number which is security checkpoint since we don't have any bags to drop and this is the easy part you just go through the normal process he checks to make sure you're united customer and then you go to the security checkpoint and i'll continue this video after we get past the security checkpoint as we exit out of security everything else is you know the exact same as any other airline we are at gate v7 so we're gonna head over there and we're just gonna you know follow it all the way to the gate last time i did this they didn't assign the seat until i got there i got lucky and ended up getting a you know exit seat but this time they have it signed so that's the only bad part about it but yeah you'll go to the airport they'll check your bag size like we went through the steps and if you want a carry-on make sure you add it online your best bet if you have a carry-on your best bet if you have a carry-on is to ensure that you just pay for the economy ticket because you're going to save money just doing that that one includes your personal bag and carry-on bag if you do that ticket this one was like 15 cheaper and i have a small bag this time so i decided to go with that option but if you can't and just get the economy ticket and i'll go over that in another video on how economy works i'm going to be going over a variety of different airlines and airports on this channel but yeah you can see united has their own dedicated area and o'hare airport is still busy so let's go ahead and head to the gate maybe one of these days i will give a tour a couple different parts of this airport but we're heading over to b7 right now and as soon as i get on there i'll show you the leg room and other things associated with it which should be the same as economy so all right see you guys in a second today we're flying in the 737 900. had it on there right now show you guys a couple of different things this is one of the larger airplanes that united has and with the economy basic you still get the wi-fi which include onboard entertainment if you want to purchase additional surfing i think it's like i'll go over the prices as soon as i look at them so i did a little voiceover on this so this is how much room you're going to have for the united economy basic or united economy it's not that much i would actually say you probably have more room on frontier airlines in terms of leg room i'm six foot two so i was kind of scrunched during this flight but it is what it is i paid 48 for this ticket and luckily somebody was able to switch me and i eventually ended up next to the window but on this view right here you can see how much room you actually get now this is an older boeing it's not the new ones so i mean you get your tray and everything like that and then you get your obviously snack on the flight and things like that just like you normally would but that concludes this video hope you learned a little bit on how the economy basic works on united airlines please subscribe and until next time thanks again for watching
