How important is bullet jump. Load testing the 243 Win.

[Applause] hey everybody how you doing the old cd here supposed to start shooting prairie dogs this week record heat wave going out it is absolutely hot over 100 degrees the last few days or right at if not over the 10 day forecast more of the same got us june should be 70 75 80 degrees can i go out and do it now well i took the opportunity i was going to load this up with h380 did a little inventory i thought you know what you can't buy components right now i better be a little wise with what i do uh i switched over and i'm gonna go with thai bread 100 i have shot this before i've seen some pretty fair stuff with it so we are down to i'm just shooting 40 grains of hybrid cci mag primer and we are playing with overall length where am i at here we are starting very very very close to if not touching the lands and without having a micrometer on my seating die you know you break a knot loose and you do the old yeah about 10 maybe 15 000 of an inch jump from one recipe to the next and we're gonna see if it has a favorite got the camera running down there four targets just like i usually do thing's been setting in the sun it's not hot but it's uh warm let's see what she does this is the longest out to almost almost if not actually touching the lands [Applause] wow i thought i set that scope a little better than that the last time around but you changed powder you change point impact big deal we can deal with it [Applause] that looks like about three quarter inch squeaky clean barrel this is 87 grain v-max i don't think i said that but i did now [Applause] well m2 don't look bad shots one and three i'd rather had it two and three maybe the first shot would have been a clean barrel issue but pretty hot this big old bull barrel i think i can get six shots around here before i gotta go kill the uh kill the cameras and let it cool down a bit this is 15 000 more jump than what we just shot you know what i'm just going to and we're going to go up a tad we're going to get a little bit better closer to bulls up go one inch up one inch over target dot number two [Applause] it's hot folks it is hot this thing's going uh all the way to balt uh boston they were talking on the radio coming down here so this is not just a midwest upper midwest it's a large scale a lot of air conditioners be running today [Applause] i ain't liking this stuff very much maybe [Applause] shots two and three don't look too bad yeah we're getting warm we got plenty plenty plenty heat coming out of there we're gonna blow some hot air around the barrel go kill the cameras we'll be back uh we're gonna stretch it back next one will be twenty thousands farther back and another fifteen thousand smaller than that we're ducking about a fifty thousandths of an inch short to long spread with these four loads all righty it's been running about 15 minutes now is playing with the b mag in the meantime takes a lot to cool a barrel on a hot day like i said i'm started out almost touching if not touching the lands and we're just backing them up a little bit every time looking at those groups down there i got six shots in i only got five holes i think the second and third shot of the second group are in the same hole there i'm gonna give this thing a little bit more elevation just to separate our holes a little bit make things easier to see and we are back to that's going to be about 35 thousands off the lands here see if it likes to jump i didn't raise it very much wow it is dead calm with a lot of sun [Applause] yeah that's why i like it this thing could reuse some trigger work too it is factory remington 700 nothing fancy and see if we can do that again [Applause] yep yep that's the way i like them that's the way we like them best god that is hot three shots went from good and warm i'm gonna let her cool again that is uh tough on a barrel walk down there kill the camera again but we'll get them last three in and we'll get that one on the deck take a look at it we won't wait to get home in this heat all right we got cameras running again i dropped her down in the shade of the pickup here way cooler than it was that last go around but it's still warm still warm ah we are back exactly 50 000 of an inch from the original load camera running camera running i did put a tape on that last one it's dead on 3 8 of an inch i think i can live with that [Applause] wow what happened there that is weird i don't even know if the camera is uh gonna catch that one oh yeah it will i hope that was me yeah that looks more like it i think i'm going to uh start investigating a trigger for this thing [Applause] god unbelievable there is a sweet spot in there it looks like to me but anyway i've got that written down what that sweet spot is and we will take that hunting for the first go-around we got a little bit of coolness blowing on the back of my neck now feels good let's go grab the paper take a look at it all righty folks there's our target for the day first three fifty thousands off the lands i think i got my mic cable hanging in front of you they're sorry fifty thousands off that's not too awful bad you know i could take credit for that one rifle was capable uh second one i believe that's first shot second shot third shot i'm not 100 sure or not i'll have to watch his film at home this tape anyway there's the one that's really got my interest that is under 3 8 of an inch three shots hundred yards i like that that's one we're going to start with i'm gonna load up a hundred uh maybe 30 40 of them probably and get out on dog town see what it does at range i just took it up one inch i think i'll take it a quarter to the left go back out this is 50 000 off the lands evidently it starts to lose it for at that point it's interesting what just uh adjusting the jump i don't know if i've ever given you a good view of this thing that is a lane short 30 it is the same as my scorpion 223 it's just a 30 cal stainless steel uh manor t4 stock remington 700 adl nothing fancy uh does need something done with the trigger though lewis hold eight and a half by 25 by 50 up front target turrets on it whoop i gotta back up this thing doesn't focus real good at close range and a vortex level setting on top of it pretty uh pretty decent combination could use a paint job on there i think fire engine red looked pretty cool we'll get the trigger in here first though yeah we'll get her out on town when the weather gets a little bit better but anyway folks 100 yards back in god's country out on the range thanks a lot for coming
