How I won the Polyphia riff competition

hi everyone Jared here I know I don't normally talk in my videos but I wanted to jump on and share some exciting news with you guys earlier this year there was a competition run by iess Australia in conjunction with pfia on their Australian tour and the competition was to write and record your own pfia inspired riff and upload it to Instagram and tag the appropriate accounts and the winner would win their choice of either Tor Scot signature guitar signed by both of the guys and in about mid July I got a message from ianz Australia to say that I won the competition with my video discount pfia to I chose Scot the Page's signature model the Chris 10 uh which I have here with me now and I haven't done any videos with it uh just yet because I wanted to get this announcement out first but you can expect to see this in a lot of new videos from me coming in the near future this is the guitar hopefully you can see the signatures from both Tim and Scott there it's got Scott signature Fishman fluence pickups in it and yeah it's really beautiful I want to say a big thank you to the guys in pfia Tim and Scott in particular as they not only agreed to the competition and signed the guitars while they were in Sydney as you can see here but they also watched through the top entries themselves and handpicked the winner that in and of itself has been a huge encouragement to me it's really amazing to get the nod for my own composition from two of my favorite guitarists from a band I really love so thank you pfia I also just want to say a big thank you to the guys at Ian as Australia and Australis they actually flew me up to Sydney for the day to get the guitar so they could present me with the guitar and take some press photos but also just so I could get a tour of their facility and and meet them and everyone was so welcoming and kind and I just wanted to say a big thank you to to Adam and Paul and and everyone that I got to meet there and and hang out with yeah it was just a really awesome time so thank you ianz and Australis for creating such a cool Opportunity by running the competition for giving away the guitar and flying me out Sydney to meet you all I really had an amazing time as for the guitar itself I've used it a couple of times live and done a bit of recording with it and it's absolutely Rock Solid it's extremely resonant and has great sustain it holds tuning better than any other guitar with The Floating Bridge that I've played and Pickups really helped to cut through the mix without being too sharp and pointy as I find some actives can beat I was pleasantly surprised to find that the neck is actually more towards a traditional Strat neck than a super flat Wizard and while I usually go for thinner necks this thing is actually really comfortable but this video is not a guitar review so I'm going to keep it short and sweet that's pretty much it but I thought that it would only be fitting to play the Riff that won me the guitar on the guitar that I won so here's discount pfia 2 on my new Chris 10 [Music] [Music] [Applause] n [Music] w
