[Music] that was really good [Music] are you stealing my balls again brought to you by everyone i forgot to do an intro for this video i wanted to go out and train martin borgmeyer bryce for plank a little bit before their plda desert launch championship here in just a couple days give them a few tips see how we can help them hit it a little straighter hopefully it helps [Music] when i was at my fastest the ball was super far up and away it was definitely not back yeah every time i want to hit it harder and harder and harder i just keep moving it up now people would think that yeah it's gonna go left which yes that's that is my hair and that's what i see most of the time but when i was able to get to the left side and then push off of that yeah i started hitting straight and getting more speed off i mean you can counter that by just aiming a bit right that's okay yeah i try and move the shoulders and the body just trying to adapt to this a little bit once you put it super far back in your stance now so everything's still a draw yeah what does that say my face is shut towards it yes face to path is still the same yes if anything if you move it up in your stance you should technically be cutting it so normal golfers right what do they do they definitely don't do this normal golfers flip it and they throw it but when that happens the face is actually going more outside or open it's definitely not squared off it depends on who the player is obviously yeah 99 of people when they move it up in the stance probably like 90 percent of people move up the stance they're going to start the ball left but it's gonna cut yes because the face is open but that's not how i play i know i phase a shot because i'm way too quick i know and so my point is is how can we move the hands in a way that allows it to stay square or longer but still achieve speed yeah because like i see your left miss and it's like i can fix that i can help that then give me give me a solution i'm trying to have you understand what's going on yeah first okay i can tell you exactly right now what to do tell me okay it's flipping the left wrist and holding the elbow out it's literally going like like that yeah but that's gonna hurt the wrist that's what that's that's that's why you do this right yeah that's why you do this yeah so one of the ways to solve for that is to feel like when you're throwing this through your shoulders are more right side bend i want you to drop the right side and push the i want you to slide the hips and it's got to feel comfortable doing this by the way every time i tell anybody anything it has to feel comfortable that's why i go through multiple iterations of certain things i'm trying to get him kind of normalized by hitting different shots so he's not worried about where it's going yet i'm just trying to have his body mold around what i'm teaching him as you're going your left hand side your right rib cage is just dropping down into your right hip so that's where you side vent but your your weight was not on the left-hand side okay so what i'm trying to create right now is an ability for this club moving through the golf ball in a line not an arc basically what you want to do you want to increase the radius of the arc yes because you cannot make it a straight line but you can make it straighter it's like a batting plane when you bat you're trying to get the bat to move in in the same plane as the ball and you're trying to maximize your hitting opportunity right it's the same thing with the golf ball the golf ball says still i'm trying to get you to go forward and back enough yeah so if i just do this because the club doesn't go forward but if i if i get the club to go forward back enough i can straighten that line out a lot better so i'm trying to get the hands to go ahead and then you pull back not a throw out early [Music] so okay the shoulder is actually pulling it back and the shoulder joint that way okay it's going that way but you got to be far enough over on this side okay okay just quit the sport just quit it dude all i want you to do i just i'm stupid all i want you to do is feel like the chest is taller through impact i want you to get tall through impact it's all i want yep cause watch watch my head watch my head motion it gets vertical so as you're here getting vertical allows the club to come and if i if i didn't move my head it would be chunked right but if i go up i can plane it a lot easier trying to get your accuracy better while producing speed so i've been trying to get him to go left side and he's still turning the left arm down his shoulder's going down trying to get him to stand us get to his left side and pull the club up left shoulder up it's perfect yeah so now it keeps you up but it keeps the club whipping okay let's try [Music] you're not gonna hit it as far left when you do this yes i'm trying to create this motion down here the head going up shoulder going up because watching the shoulder goes back look at the face closes yeah right does that make sense the face the shoulder has to go up in order to keep the palm in the back of the left wrist in line not enough but i want it to feel like it's a it's applying more speed to you feel like so when you're doing it don't move the hands through move your lower body through you pull back and around which squares the club face up but then allows the handle to just fling right over which isn't necessarily a bad thing because that's how you can produce some speed so see how the shoulder gets back and out of the way yeah and that's okay but you want it to go actually up and closer i wanted to go up and closer so through the impact zone you make use of this to then kind of release it does that make sense [Music] [Applause] just put that sound under each of the misses let's go straight lining effect yeah so your retained angle of attack when i spin it but still hit it like 14 launching yeah that's what i mean that's a good angle you still have an angle of good angle of attack but you're using in a different way left shoulder moving vertical raises the club it'll actually flatten it out so you have better control of where you hit it on the face and then you can spine tilt to change the angle of attack but what you're doing is you're pulling it around and spine tilting which is then creating some speed and you're changing the spine till super difficult to control rather than if i was to just take a club and go this way i'm moving up and i'm having a lot of motion but it's straightening the club yes now you're getting what was that did you feel it turn around the corner it felt good so i want you to still apply to me i want you to go 220. so we started out by trying to have him go more to the left i felt uncomfortable not great then we tried to start talking about side bend that didn't really do much now we're at a place where i feel like you can apply speed and hit it more consistently in the middle of the face it's more like this it's uncocky but don't i don't know what this is okay okay relax i shouldn't even feel that what happened what'd you feel terrible i know but what did you feel there face flipped face flip off of going up i'm not sure i feel like it's more hands so this right elbow is going so you've got this pullback motion and the elbow going out right so from my perspective i think you could easily control this by having the elbow stay in in your midline yes like that yes yes yes just try that for once i like that feel so all this is trying to get him to his left side more here or inside the ball it's better i feel like it helps the overdraw that one i like that yeah i can i can apply speed to it now okay now i want you to go fast okay so this is how i would go through like a speed training session i would start out by trying things and now you just drop them hammer because that's all i'm trying to do is get something that allows you to mitigate that left miss and then you work on speed for a long drive that's what i would do i could see something i was like i knew that there was something wrong in regards to the club getting too close whether it's he's standing left hand side more right side bend right arm whatever it is there's a way to fix it chris is way better than me at this by the way he can not say anything and just know what it is it's pretty wild where's that oh dude that's all rockets down the middle dude i know you miss hitting it down the middle that's the way it should be all i'm doing is having him try things to see what kind of clicks it is definitely more hit or miss but it's tough when you don't know a person's motion like i don't so you're trying things that have worked for a lot of people in the past and continue to [Music] what are you trying to hear bryce so i'm trying to have him work on hip rotation a little bit may or may not be the answer for him in control because he wants to get back to more of a conventional golf swing which is kind of tough i would honestly say if anything i was going to tell him to slow down on the backstroke i feel like it could take more time like a longer wider swing i would encourage you to go more that route to control it than anything else okay just work off of that because that is honestly the way you just looked right there was exactly the foot movement that i wanted i was trying to get you to have yes that is all i want you to do dude and just try and apply apply speed that way don't try and jump try and move the club faster through impact that's all your jumping is only stalling your hand motion it's slowing it down yes everything i've done for the last four months has made me go this way because i was doing the trying to do the rex instead of trying to don't jump off the ground literally just baseball swinging act like it's a baseball that's it just work on that man swear and that's gonna help you control your golf swing better too keep your knees bent okay i want so like in baseball right you don't do this in baseball right you're right keep your knees bent going through this golf shot knees bent knee bent that's okay that's actually okay i swear so it's all dependent i mean some guys jump some guys rotate better some it's all not really well known some people just work better with different ways yes it's okay flip it that golf swing looked good that's what i want you to do is rotate better rotate rotate rotate rotate rotate rotate rotate rotate didn't rotate enough you didn't keep rotating if anything i want you to jump when your knees are pointing towards the target i don't want you to jump here i want you to be boom and then jump that's what i'm saying you can feel it now can't you you can feel like lose all energy do your baseball stuff bro it needs to all be baseball yes that's all i want you to do so pick your left foot up off the ground like you're about to hit a baseball yeah yep get to that weight get there and turn hard [Music] oh it fell off but that was faster that looked better too oh that looked better that definitely didn't look like the clubs and hip stalled yeah it looked like it was motion through it how do i get him to stop jumping it's just tough when people have integrated emotion very difficult that looks better that looks like you're not jumping anymore or you're casting a fishing line down you know what i mean it's just like baseball it's like yeah like throwing a paradise see how it's later now that's better now you feel like you eat it up on it can't you yeah and my face is so square and i don't have to think about anything hallelujah good job i know you don't do it in baseball and you can always get back to what you do in baseball but have you tried like elevating yourself in the backswing with your left foot because you can lift that left heel of the ground right and you can do it to rotate more but that's not what i'm talking about i'm actually talking about like the upload motion because this up and down motion in your body is actually a huge power element and i don't know if you i mean want to try this have tried this and so on and so forth it works for a lot of people i have tried it before i just couldn't get the timing down of it just got frustrated and okay just good just all he sees he's bodied me out early so i'm trying to get him either more on his left side do the same thing with with you or get the right arm more in more lag but later lag feel like he's holding onto the angle for a lot longer i feel like you just hold onto the angle through the ball don't even let the hands go how about that okay so move it all the way back in your stance yes i think his ball's been too far up dude i don't want to face that shot in competition that was a good one in to win this is killing everything 9.7 launch 1800 spin it's pretty good i don't want to face that you've got a great tan line on your face from your sunglasses how about this one oh my gosh [Music] i want you to stay tall don't move up just stay taller and away from it more easier i don't want you to feel scrunched down here because when you take it back take it back and you're here and then that's where you're going to jump instead of staying tall whip it through better that's better bryce that's way better just to just stay tall that's that's a big deal for you when you're training like whatever you do any rotational stuff train with your body tall try to stay tall as you can don't try and crunch down into it trying to be like you know that'll help so you grab a weight and just vertical so what what do you want to do is you want to push force into the ground to actually go up but this motion is going to help me so much when when i'm struggling to hit it straight i never struggle when i miss right because i can compensate that easily in like one hit yeah obviously because that's my miss but the left business when i miss the first two left i have a tough set yeah i don't know how i set up yes so when i set up it's always there that is my staple for not hitting it left that and the left elbow those two are the biggest reasons why you know preventers of hitting it left for me in my golf swing that's why i do that i tell people to do it that's why chris i talk all the time about it left elbow right elbow how you're orientating those elbows really affects how that club face is oriented to the ball because i said it before like in competition dude when you're full of adrenaline speed is going to be there anyways all you got to do is hit it straight you need to find little band-aids or something yes exactly and also the second thing is adapt to conditions correct when it's interwin did it low low spin you know how to do it and vice versa right we know how to do it but this is like something i can always get back to right appreciate it thanks not man there just another small little video showing you guys what i'm trying to do for these guys out here i don't know everything chris knows a lot more than me but i do know a couple things that can help them maybe stabilize the golf swings a little bit more so trying to give them some stuff for the plda championship next week over misky help martin a little bit with his right elbow bryce maybe with his elbow and maybe lagging him more but mainly to keep his head tall because he really dips down so he's got to work on that isn't that kind of what you were teaching hogan yeah got the same problem goes down super far down stuff that i've just accumulated over the years knowing what to do to be one of the better drivers in the world hopefully that help for them help my boys out eventually we'll be doing some fan stuff make sure to like subscribe comment down
