- Hey everyone. So with the New Year upon us, I think that a lot of people are taking it as a great opportunity to
fit some new financial goals. And to also ask themselves
a very important question and that is, "Am I living the life and
lifestyle that I truly want?" "Or am I instead spending it "working a job that brings me no joy?" And I truly believe that
while it might be hard to ask ourselves these
question since, wow, we might not like the answer, that it is immensely important
that you do ask it any way and that you are truly
honest with yourself, because if you don't, then you will never take any steps to be one of the few people
that breaks this cycle. And like most people, you will
stay trapped in it forever because you see, here's the thing, right? Most people mistakenly believe that money is the most
scarce resource that we have. They're afraid of losing
it or running out of it. So they will willingly exchange their time to earn more money, which is somewhat ironic because as any successful
entrepreneur will tell you it isn't money that is scarce. No, it is time. Time is our most scarce resource. And that's because once you
spend it, it is gone forever. Whereas money once you spend it, well, you can always earn more money back. That is why successful entrepreneurs don't see money as scarce. Instead, they see it as abundant. And so that is why I truly, truly believe that everyone should be investing their spare time and money now into building passive income streams that will earn the money in the future without them having to
exchange their time to get it so that they aren't trapped
in the cycle forever. And so that is what I have done. As my long time time subscribers know, I spent my spare time in my twenties voting at passive income sources. So now that I'm in my thirties, I am always earning money,
no matter what I am doing. I could be eating breakfast
and then ding, I earn money. Or I could be out
walking my dog, Starbuck, and suddenly, ding, I'm earning money. Or I could be eating dinner
and ding, I'm earning money. Or I could be sleeping
and ding, ding, ding, yep every hour that I'm asleep, guess what? I'm earning money. And you know what, if you also want to make
money every hour of the day, no matter what you're doing, it is never too late to make a change. And so if this is you, I thought I'd make a fun
video showcasing two things. Firstly, it's going to
be a mini case study showcasing my different
sources of passive income. And as you'll see, they're
actually quite diverse. And so my hope is that at least
one of these income sources will interest you and inspire you to build and create your
own source of passive income as well. But secondly, I also
thought it would be fun to turn this video into a bit
of an experiment and a game. I thought it would be fun
to take a look and see what time of the day that
my passive income sources are earning the most money. Do you think I earn the most money when I'm eating breakfast, or walking Starbuck, or eating dinner, or when I'm sleeping? Make your guess, and then let's find out
if you guessed right. So then, let's start off
with the first income source that I ever built, my automated e-Commerce business. Now you see, here's the thing right? By now, you've probably
noticed my funny accent and that's because I live
in little old, New Zealand and that has impacted
my life in two big ways. The first way is that I now
have the New Zealand accent and which e's, sound like I's. Yup, this is red paint. And this is someone writing a check, and this is a deck of cards. Yeah, so there is that. The other impact that living down under has also had on my life is that, thanks to the
magic of time zones, I live in the future. When it is 10:00 AM on a
Wednesday in New York City, it is 4:00 AM on a Thursday
here in New Zealand. And guess what? When it is 10:00 AM in New York City, that is peak time for
my e-Commerce business. And that's because due to
changes in consumer buying, most e-Commerce stores find that they have two peak sales periods. One is in the morning and then
one is later in the evening. And because I set up
my e-Commerce business to target the USA, it means then that by the
time I wake up in the morning, the USA has already had
its first sales peak. So for example, this store here is set to Pacific time in the USA. Well, by the time I logged
in at around 9:22 AM, my time after eating breakfast, it was 12:22 PM in Los Angeles, and the store had already
had its first sales peak and it made over 800 US dollars. But you see, here's the thing. I know that a lot of my new viewers are probably quite confused. Sarah, an e-Commerce store that doesn't sound like a
very passive source of income after all, running an
online store is hard. First of all, you have
to spend a bunch of money to buy and ship a bunch
of items from China so that you can have something to resell and then you have to store
them somewhere in your house. And when someone does
buy an item from you, it's not over because now
you have to find the item, the customer bought that
you've stored in your carriage and then package it up, and then you have to ship it out to them. That's hardly a source
of passive income, Sarah, what gives. And that's a good question. So let me show you how
I've taken a business model that historically has
required a lot of work and then automated it to run passively. So my e-Commerce business, I primarily sell co-match featuring original artwork and slogans like t-shirts, stickers and
mugs and things like that. Now to protect my artwork, I
don't share the art I sell, but what I have done is I've set up an example
store that runs identically. So you can see all this match
here that I have listed. Well, I can sell this match without having to make any of it myself. And that is thanks to
two cool apps that I use. One is this app here, Printify, and the second app is
my main app, Printful. These are called print-on-demand apps. With these, anyone can
set up an automated store and so custom match online. So, what you do is you go
through the huge catalog of blank items and you
choose which products you would like to customize
and sell your own versions of. So for me, some of my
favorite products to sell are stickers, mugs, and of course, my number
one seller, t-shirts. And so once you've decided
what you want to sell, you then upload either
some art or a slogan that you want to customize it with, you then place it on the product where you want it to be printed and you pick which product colors you think it looks based on, Printful will install a
digital copy of your product that you have created such as this t-shirt in their computers. And so now I can list this
t-shirt for sale in my store. And each time someone does come and say buys this t-shirt from me, Printful will see the order and go, yep, let's make the customer this t-shirt. One of the emerge factories
will then print my design onto a blank t-shirt,
package the t-shirt up, and then ship it out to the customer. And they'll even send the customer a tracking link automatically. And so, as you can see,
thanks to Printful, my e-Commerce business pretty
much runs itself on autopilot. And the same goes for my marketing. As I explained in greater
detail in this video here if you were interested, the main way people find my
products is by coming to Google and then doing a search
for related keywords. My products rank highly
for many keyword searches. And so every day I get
free automated marketing and traffic from Google, which means that my main
cost is Printful printing and shipping charges. And since my t-shirts feature cool, original art and slogans, people are willing to pay
25 to $30 for my t-shirts. So they have some pretty
good profit margins. And because Printful has
multiple factories in the USA, it doesn't matter that
I live in New Zealand, my USA customers get their products both made locally and shipped locally, which is great because New Zealand has just a fraction of
the population of the USA. So it means I get to live here
in the future in New Zealand while being able to sell to
over 300 plus million people living in the past, over in the USA. And if you're interested in learning how I and others are making
money online everyday with print-on-demand, you should be sure to
download my free ebook, "The 6 Steps That 6 Figure
Online Stores Follow "To Make $10,000+ A Month." And you'll find a link
to download my free ebook in the video description below. But anyway, back to the video. And remember, this video, it's not just a case study of the different sources of
passive income that I earn. Nope, we are trying to answer
another question as well. And that is what time of the day do I earn the most passive money? And so since most of my
customers are in the USA, it means in that thanks
to the magic of time zones that I have two peak
sales times on average. 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the USA, and it's different times zones, which is between 4:00 AM to
8:00 AM here in New Zealand and a single time zone. And then from 8:00 PM
to 9:00 PM in the USA, and it's different times, which is between 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM here in New Zealand's single time zone, which means I'm earning the
most of my passive money from this income source
when I am sleeping. And then later again, in the afternoon and early evening, when I'm out taking Starbuck
for his second walk. But you see, here's the really cool thing about passive income. It can grow at an astonishing rate and that's because of this, time. You see, initially you
might spend your free time after work, for example, to build up one passive income source. But once you've got that up and running, you can then take that free
time that you just gained back to build another passive income source. As you can see, over time,
you can build more and more. And so over time, your
income grows and grows. And so this is why earning
money working a job isn't a very efficient way to earn money. It's because you only
have 24 hours in a day. And for some of that, you need to sleep. Realistically, for most people, they can only work
eight to 12 hours a day. That means that your income
literally has an earning gap, doesn't it? Since you only have
eight to 12 hours a day to exchange for money. Whereas, with passive income sources, you can build one and then
another, and then another. Your income potential has no
limit and it can grow and grow. Which is why, after building
my e-Commerce business, I started to look for other
sources of passive income that I could now build which take me to one fateful day about six-ish years ago, I was on YouTube looking
for tips and strategies that other online store owners were using to improve their sales and marketing. And you know what, I found basically nothing. No one was bothering to make videos on it. And so I had a thought, Hmm, you know what, if
I want videos on this, surely other people running online stores must want videos on this too. Maybe this could be my
next source of income. I'll make a video about
my tips that I'm using and see if anyone watches it. And so I made my first video and well, funnily enough, it turned out that they
were indeed other people that also wanted videos like this too. And so now I earn passive money every day thanks to YouTube AdSense. Yup, as you can see in the past 28 days, I have made over 20,000
US dollars passively from this income source. Although the truth is, whenever I call this a
passive income source, I'll inevitably get people who find this to be a
controversial statement. They'll say, oh, it's not passive because you always have to keep making and uploading videos, Sarah. But I don't think that that's true because if you have ever
growing videos like me, you can take huge massive breaks while uploading videos and still earn thousands of dollars in passive income. Another good example of this is my old time favorite YouTube channel, JCS Criminal Psychology. Yep, so now you know my secret. I am a massive, massive,
true crime geek and nerd. Yup, when I'm not designing new products or walking little Starbuck, I'm probably on my couch
watching true crime videos on YouTube. So I've been following
this channel for ages. And even when they don't
upload videos for months, they will still get millions
of views to their videos. And why? Well, it's because their
videos are timeless, true crime geeks are always interested in learning about the Jodi Arias case, for example. And so, every month, this video will get hundreds
of thousands of views if not millions, whether they upload new videos or not. And so well, the same goes
for a lot of my videos too. Take this video here I made where I talked about the 10 mistakes that I see new print-on-demand stores make when they first open. Well, I uploaded this video
over two years ago now. And you know what, every
day people still watch it. And thus, as a result, every single day, it is still earning me passive money. On average I earn 20
to 30 US dollars a day, just from this one video that
I uploaded over two years ago. And that's because this
is a timeless video. Print-on-demand has been
around for a very long time and it will continue to be
around for a very long time. And so this video will
continue to be relevant and that's continued to
make me passive money into the future. But of course, this video isn't just a case study
of my income sources, is it? Nope. We're trying to answer that question about what time of the day do my passive income
sources earn the most money? And luckily for us, YouTube actually has a pretty cool feature that tells you what time of the day that people are watching your videos. And so we can see here
that according to YouTube, most people tend to watch my videos from between 4:00 AM to 8:00
AM my time here in New Zealand, which means then that YouTube has since earns me the most passive money when I'm asleep just in time for when I'm ready to
wake up and eat breakfast. So then onto my next
source of passive income, which is this, this stock market. Yup, I'm a very big believer
into investing money in the stock market. And in fact, I'd probably
argue that the stock market is the easiest way to
earn passive money ever. Unless of course, you are lucky enough to have a family trust fund. You simply set up an automatic deposit to buy shares with a stock trade app. And then boom, as you go about your life, if your stock prices go up, your money will grow and
you're doing literally nothing. It's especially nice when some companies send out a dividend to their investors each year, or depending on where you live
in the world every quarter as a thank you. Who doesn't like getting
free checks in their mail for doing nothing? But of course, this
income source only works if your stock prices do actually go up. And so since I like to earn passive money from the stock market, but I don't like having
to predict the future, I keep things easy and just follow Warren Buffet's advice of sticking to index funds. Now I'm sure that 99% of my viewers have heard about them before, take the S&P 500 in the USA, which is an example of an index fund. An index fund splits your money across multiple large companies. So if you purchase shares in the S&P 500, your money is split across the
top 500 companies in America. And historically, well,
some of these companies have gone down in value like Mobile, which five years ago was worth around $90, and is now worth around 60 US dollars. Most others like Apple have substantially increased in value over these past five years. And as a result, even with
recent dips in the stock market, compared to five years ago, the S&P 500 it's worth way more today than it was in the past. And so for me, I started investing in New
Zealand's version of this with automatic deposits
about five years ago. And it's been a great way
for me to earn passive money, both through my dividend
payouts that I've received, and the money that I've passively gained through long-term gains. And so the truth is, the stock market has
to be the easiest money that I have ever made. But again, the real question
we're trying to answer here with this video is this, what time of the day
does this income source earn me the most money? And well, since this is
really about long-term gains, this is kind of a difficult
question to answer. But I guess, you could say that since the New Zealand
stock market trades from between 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM each day, that I am earning most of my money from stocks during the day, which is when I go on my
walks with little Starbuck. So then onto my next passive income source which is this, affiliate marketing. So here's the thing, right? Remember that video where I shared the Top 10 Mistakes that I See New Print-on-Demand Stores Make? Well, as my long time subscribers now, this video earns me money in two ways. Firstly, it of course earns me money with passive AdSense commissions. But addition to that, it also earns money through
affiliate marketing. You'll see, in this video, I highlight one of my favorite tools that I use in my print-on-demand business, an app called Placeit. Well, if you open up
the video description, you'll see that inside of
it is an affiliate link that takes you over to
Placeit if you click it. Well, if you check out the full URL, you'll see that it has
a little tracking code attached to it. And well, this tracking code, it tracks whether somebody purchases a subscription to Placeit after they've just clicked my link. And if they do, I get a commission. And so this is what
affiliate marketing is. As you can see in the past 30 days, I have made 3,865 New Zealand
dollars in commissions, which when you convert to USD is around 2,600 US dollars in commissions. And as you may have also noticed, this is just one of the affiliate links in my video description. I have others for different apps that I personally use and love. People very kindly, thank you, by the way, like to use my affiliate
links as a thank you for the free videos and tutorials that I release on this channel. And when you can find all
the affiliate commissions to give her, it comes out to tens of
thousands of US dollars a month. And of course, since the main way that people end up
clicking my affiliate links is through watching my YouTube videos, and then using the affiliate
links in my video description as a thank you for the tutorials, it means that I am
earning most of my money from between 4:00 AM to
8:00 AM in New Zealand, which means at the end of day, yep I earn the most money
from affiliate commissions when I am fast asleep. And so if you have been keeping in tally, the time of the day when I'm earning the most
passive income per hour is of course, when I am
asleep, which is pretty cool. That's the power of
passive income for you. So did you guess right? Let me know in the comments. For me personally, I was actually a little bit
surprised by the results. Like I knew going into this video that I make the most money per hour when I'm asleep because of time zones, but I didn't realize
quite how much more it was until I calculated it for this video. And if this video inspired you to create your own passive income sources, be sure to subscribe and click the little notification bell so that you don't miss
