[Music] hi everybody thank you for watching in today's video I'm gonna show you guys my updated contour highlight routine I'm also gonna talk you through each step and explain why I do everything normally it might get ready with me as I show you guys my routine but I kind of speed it up and I don't really explain why I'm doing certain things so this video is for maybe some beginners out there that are trying to learn or maybe some people that are just trying to step up their game a little bit and try new things so I'm always constantly learning new things and I figured it was time to do an updated contour highlight video focusing just on that so if you guys want to see how I contour and highlight then please keep watching so to start up today's look I'm using the tacha silk campus primer I use this about a year or two ago when I stopped using it and I just recently started using it again and I really loved the consistency of it so I'm just using my fingers to apply this and when applying a primer especially something that's gonna be blurring imperfections it's always important to kind of rub it in in a downwards motion that way it's gonna push any hairs on your face and it just smooths everything out a little bit better so as you guys can see my face is much later than my body whenever you just spray tan since I use an exfoliating wash it always strokes this tan off my face much quicker so hence my face being a lot lighter than my body I don't have anything on my body right now so I'm gonna match my foundation to my chest and that's the most important thing because when doing your makeup always want everything to match for foundation I'm using my all-time favorite the Fionna Styles matte foundation this is in the number six so I'm just gonna apply it on the back of my hand and what I've been doing lately which helps me use a lot less product this is probably even too much on my hands sometimes a it a little crazy but I also want to blend my neck and everything so what I've been doing is using a brush like this at first I don't even know where I got this brush it says and then it's 1.3 but I feel like morphine Sigma have a very similar type of brush so I just like to take a little bit and start applying it onto my face and what I notice is when I use a brush like this I use way less product I just want to do like a light thin layer first just to cover my face obviously give myself a tan and then I'll go in with the Beauty Blender if you don't want it super thick and cakey you can just avoid it at all times under your eyes but since I am in such a thin layer I'm gonna put up tiny a little bit underneath my eyes I'm not like fully under but just like on my cheeks it here you always want to make sure you're pushing the foundation into your hairline there's nothing more something like a light ring around your hairline so always just kind of push it in and then if you notice like your hair around your face starts to lighten up from the foundation at the end you can just use a makeup wipe and just wipe it off you also want to always make sure you're doing your ears when I do my neck for some reason I prefer to use a brush like this this one is the wing box a one brush it just blends out my neck a lot quicker always always always do your neck I cannot stress that enough so now that I did a nice thin blended out application on my face with the brush I'm going to go in with my Beauty Blender and I'm gonna take a little bit more foundation and just kind of like work it in on the back of my hand and then I'm gonna go back in and just kind of cover any areas that I still see imperfection it's like for instance like dark spots or anything like that and one thing I always remember to do is I like to blend the foundation onto my lips that way there's no lines between your lips and your foundation and also around the nose like in the crevices of your nose and like not in your nose but like right in here as well because it does make a difference you know sometimes when your foundation starts to move into break sometimes if you're not like pushing the foundation and everything into like the little crevices that's where it's gonna start breaking quicker like around the nose like and around the lips and like the my lines area I don't have that problem so I notice if you like really really push all the products the concealers the powders into those areas it's gonna help prevent anything from like breaking apart next up I have this like peachy cream it's called cream kai-lan product I don't know if it's a foundation or concealer I forget what they promote it as but I'm just taking a little bit with this domed shadow brush from Oda and I'm just applying this right under my eyes just like that so this is really moisturizing and creamy plus it has like a peachy undertone which is gonna cancel out any dark circles and it's a little bit more lightweight on the skin which I really like so instead of using my shape tape all over I'm just gonna use the Sheep tape to highlight which I'll show you guys in a minute so good see how much it brightens your under eyes I'm also gonna put a little bit on the corners of my belt basically anywhere that you have a darkness that you want to brighten up so now my favorite part I am taking the graftobian midnight marigold HD glamour cream and this is what I'm gonna use to cream contour my face I don't do this all the time but I'm showing you guys like my old lamb talk to our highlight routine because this is what I do the most though is specially from going out or for the special event or anything like that so I don't even know where this brush is from I've had this for like a hundred years so I'm gonna take a little bit of that and carve out my nose this is my favorite thing to do as you guys probably know depending on what you want to do to your nose this stuff might be different for you so for me I like to start it from my eyebrows kind of like swoop it in a little bit to make this part more now as well and then I like to keep the lines like we're together and all the way down my nose because I just want my whole nose to look slimmer so for my nose this is the shape that I like to contour and then I'll do it my tip underneath as well and then I'll always connect my eyeshadow in my crease to the nose contour as well just so it all kind of like flows together nicely I also like to contour right here under my lip I don't like to do in my full merlic sometimes it looks a little bit muddy on me personally although I've seen other people do it like that but I like to just do my bottom lip and then with lip liner I'm going and like overlying them to make them look larger so then I'm grabbing the morphe g-eight brush with the same cream contour and I'm gonna start contouring my forehead and since I have a bigger forehead I like to do like pretty much my whole forehead with this if you have a smaller forehead you can just do right around the edges and do more highlighter but for me I like to pretty much do like my whole forehead for those of you guys that are just new to contouring you always want to do it right above you see my natural cheap online you want to always do it like right above that that way when you're blending it in it's gonna help carve out your cheeks so a quick funny story we were getting ready for New Year's at my friend Lindsay's house and I was watching her contour and she was contouring down here like Oh over here and she was using like this really great great contour and I like it was like Lindsay ha what are you doing and I like made her wash it off and I showed her how to do it and she was like blown away at the big difference that it makes so the whole point is you want to do it above your cheeks and then kind of blend it down and then blend it up and really carve out your face so I'll use the mmm mark the Emma for 3-6 for the cheeks and you could stay I'm gonna apply right above that line and then one that's like I'm very very light hand we're gonna start blending it to that line you never want to go below it and you kind of want to like I like to sweep it up a little bit over here as you can see like this is where my cheek is I want to kind of like curve under the cheek and slowly blend it up like that and then the same thing on the other side you know apply it all right above and with a very light hand if you make like weird faces you can see like where your should apply it so we're scooping it up to the cheek I'm blending it down a little bit and then we're blending it up as well if you ever feel like you went a little bit too far down you can just kind of like clean it up one day so with that same brush I'm gonna take a little bit more and we're gonna do our jawline so I was kind of like to push my chin out like that that way I can really see it and for me I like to do it right along it because I want my bottom part of my face to look longer if you want to make it look a little bit shorter you can contour right above that and don't make sure it's a straight line and that's gonna make this part a little bit smaller so it really depends on your feet shape so for me I have a very big forehead so I like to make this part of my face a little bit longer and then scoop it up so I'm sure you've seen some people do it above and again that's just if he wants you contour your jaw and make it look a little bit smaller it depends on what you're going for and always blend it down this is good for any double chins which everyone has it's inevitable and you always want to make sure you're blending it down there's no sharp lines or anything like that so next I'm taking the shape tape and medium so I'm just gonna kind of put one two three one two three I'm gonna do a little bit on the bridge of my nose okay very here and I don't want to try on my chin I like to make my chin look bigger I only like to highlight in between my brows if you have a smaller forehead you can highlight a lot higher just blend out the beauty blender and I always like to let the nose kind of dry up a little bit that's why I always just leave it to the last that way it doesn't move when I go to blend it out and the lines stay there and then since I already did the contour what I like to do is with the clean part of the Beauty Blender the butt of the Beauty Blender I'll just kind of blend the concealer into the contour that way there again are no more harsh lines and just kind of fades really nicely together and again like I said with any of the products you want to make sure you're really really pushing it in around the nostril and all around and I noticed because you guys know how much I love to contour my nose I really noticed that just by doing that it's gonna really help keep the nose contour and those skin looking all smooth and together I can see them look around the lips like really push it in very I don't nicely print and then just with my finger very lightly one that in okay so now to blend out the nose contour I'll take a little tiny bit more of the sheet tape I really like just like that much more I'll go back to the same visit Mota yeah the motor brush I just I'm wiping off any of that peach concealer and I'm gonna grab a little bit and I'm gonna start very lightly just pushing it into the outer part of the nose contour the very light and end so the key is to get most of the product towards the end so that way you can see how it's already starting to like blend nicely and then I'll move in in that same motion like a patting motion towards the center like that and then once I do that then I'll kind of go over right along where the line is just with like a soft hand and the padding same patting motion make that so you could still see the line which is what we want because if you move the line it's gonna change your whole nose contour and for me I have a little bit of a bump so one thing I noticed when I gotten my makeup done by other people if they blend it out too much the bum comes back and then it kind of defeats the purpose of contouring your nose so again it's by doing like a very light tapping motion it's gonna keep the products in place and it's gonna give you that same effect what you want so same thing we're gonna grab it on the side and start pushing if I go on linked down and then up down then up it's gonna make it all kind of fade really nicely without having to do too much work so before I said it I always like to like how it looks with the cranes before the powder is because it just keeps it a little bit easier so for me because you could see like there's still some darkness on the sides up here which I want to camouflage so I'm going back to that same peach color and I'm just gonna look straight always straight into my mirror and be like okay I want this part a little bit later so let me add a little bit right here like that so you see how it just took that shadow away so if you just take the time to really look straight and notice right it does need to be brighter this needs to be darker before you do the powder it's gonna make your life so much easier so same thing right here because I have a more darkness because I machine I'm literally changing my bone structure so looking straight ahead and you can see just by doing that how much brighter it is and it makes it look like this is really the bones of my nose like this is where my nose ends so I'll just kind of go make sure everything looks nice and smooth push it together for the powder so for my under eyes I like the Ben Nye I love the Ben Nye affair powder it's one of my favorites it has a little bit of like a pink undertone which really brightens your face and then I also have the Ben Nye camel which I'll use to set all of my contoured areas if you want you could skip this step and just use a bronzer but lately I've just been using this and then I use like a glowy bronzer over it so this is just kind of my newest routine so I always pour a little bit of powder into my hand with my Beauty Blender I'll make sure all the lines underneath my eyes are smooth out then I'll dip the Beautyblender and I'll put it right up to the dark contour line and just set I always like to do that to make sure I'm studying my smile lines as well it's the same thing blend out the creases and again my career doing around her note all around and your smile lines set your chin and then set just like a little bit I'm not like baking baking I'm just gonna set the highlighted points that and with the Wayne Goss Oh to brush I'm gonna take a little bit and just very light very light hands I don't move anything underneath I'll set the contour and it's also like bronzes up your face a little bit as well which is nice and then to set my nose I always use this grayer tone a little bit of the warmer tone from my sheet and like palette no matter what I always use it and then I like to just kind of tap over the product again that way it's not moving anything and it's gonna set it into place like so so while I'm letting the powder set in I'll always do my eyebrows since this is a contra highlight video let's skip right over the brows so next I'm grabbing my Real Techniques setting brush this one is on my favorites it's the 402 and with a very very very light hand we're gonna slowly be like small circles to push the powder away and I like to kind of like very lightly like blend over the nose contour cuz it kind of diffuses it a little bit so it's not as harsh and I'll just kind of like brush on top of my lids to set them as well next we're gonna use the morphe continuous setting mess this is my favorite and slit the fourth one I've been through I just restocked it and before I got it back in the mail I was trying different ones and this hands-down is my favorite of all time so I like to put a lot in my face so refreshing and so nice it's never gonna ruin your makeup with like those like what like spits at you it's off setting sprays so that's why I really love it it's just like a very clean even look and then I'll go in with my Beauty Blender and just really push it with a heavy hand everything in so now I have like a routine at this point now that I did that whole I guess start of the process I would always go in now with my eyes so I'm gonna quickly do my eyes off-camera and I'll be back in a second I'm taking the Kat Von D powder locket foundation this in medium 57 and I also have deep 74 so I really love these powders are like that extra coverage I don't always do this but I really love how it looks with the nose contour and everything so with my Sigma e 50 M going to take a little bit of the lighter shade and apply this right up against where the dark part of my nose contour is so kind of that seam idea of what I was doing with the concealer before we set it I just want to like erase any of those shadows cuz it's gonna help me make my nose up here thinner so I'll just apply that like right on the sides and then with the darker one I'm gonna use the same brush and just lightly Pat it over the nose contour so it's gonna warm it up a little bit and it's also gonna give it a little more coverage and then I'll just kind of like swipe up to blend the lighter one into it so it diffuses it a little bit and this is the part which makes the nose come together my favorite part and that's highlighting it so I'm gonna be using look how everything just pops with my new palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills I'm gonna mix I'm gonna mix Bali and mu for my highlight I always use these two shades like they're the only shades really I use unless I'm trying new products for highlighting and I like to use a really small precise brush for this this is the morphe 35 minutes literally in two pieces I've had it for a very long time but it works well so I'm gonna just draw a very thin line and then I just blend it lightly with my hand right at the tip I'm adding it a little bit higher just to like lift up my nose a little bit so obviously my real tip is like down here but just to give it like a lips I'm going to apply that right here like an exclamation boy so I'm also gonna take a little bit and highlight my Cupid's bow so next I'm gonna do my lips this is Bible lipliner from Miami kiosk elaboration and I always like to overload my lip so I'll just throw this little trick in there too the color Luna which is the other lip liner that I have is amazing for contouring your lips it's also on this amazing as a lip liner so that one's probably like my go-to for like a night out look but because I'm wearing pink this is a little bit more pink undertone this is my go-to for the daytime like every single day but I'm gonna just do this one for today too so I always lying right outside of my natural lip line and it's hard I guess really to see it on the bottom but for my upper lip you'll see how much of a difference it makes so I start just right above my line and then I'll blend it in lip injections without lip injections and then isn't blended in so I'm thinking the Milani baked bronzer in Soleil this is gonna give me like a subtle highlight and somewhat below because I don't really like to use highlighter so it's nice so if I do put any type of shower on my body at least I'll have some sort of shimmer on my face like I said I just really don't like how highlighter looks on me so I make up for it was a little bit of a Bates marelize bronzer and then my go-to favorite blush that I think obsessed with I sit in like every video but I mean it really matches my whole vibe today as well it's the flower powder blush and sweet pea and I like a lot of blush so now I like how it looks right now one little trick I wanted to share with you guys really quickly is if you guys ever do with your makeup and you feel like the contours a little bit too strong or anything's a little bit too strong which I've done before if I don't blend it out enough because I don't like like a crazy dark contour going back to that same light foundation powder with my 13 Wayne brush if you just take a little bit of that powder and just do like slow circular motions it'll diffuse everything a little bit because it is a powder foundation so it'll kind of just lay in it and make everything just blend together a little bit more nice so let's just make a little trick that I've used for years now that it's ever like too much you just kind of blend it out a little bit with the powder foundation so this is the final result this is my go-to routine I hope you guys learn something new try out my techniques and let me know how it works for you obviously this is a very dramatic type of face routine it's definitely not for every day but it's good as guys are going out for an event a wedding anything like that so these are the products that I'm obsessed with and I've been using a lot of them for so long and I highly recommend everything mentioned in this video also guys this is my first video with my new new hair so my last video was before I added some more highlights and I told them so I went back a couple days after my last video and I got some more and she toned them a little bit more ashy so I did shower once and she did it so they do look a little bit more golden than they did but I'm same obsessed with it and I really loved how it came out so it's definitely a change but I'm feeling it so I hope you guys enjoyed this video hopefully you learned something new definitely comment below and let me know when you guys try it out and how it works for you so I love you guys so much thank you for watching and until next time I'll see you guys later
