hey guys so I hadn't planned on making a video today but there's a chance that someone's coming up to uh pick this engine up here in a couple hours so I thought I would kind of do a breakdown video on a couple of things on this engine in particular um that might be helpful to somebody most of it is pretty straightforward and there's probably tons of videos on most of what I'm going to go over but there's a couple um things that I did on it that uh you know I've seen a few guys do variations of but um maybe uh it'll just give you some some pointers and some things I did on this this engine that could help you with your builds um so I'm going to go ahead and flip the camera around and do some close-up shots um and just get you guys a little more uh in-depth detail on this um before it goes out and uh hopefully you guys can find it useful all right so I'm going to kind of just take this uh description kind of like side by side I think it'll be easier just to like you know cover this side of the engine and then we'll flip around um first of all I'll go over the internals so for the most part it's a very common build I mean internally there's really nothing special it's all the stuff you're going to hear everybody suggests to do um it's got a stock bottom end um it's got a Hamilton 188 220 cam um Val spring upgrade uh retainers uh push rods and that's pretty much it I am running H ARP studs um they're the 425s um nothing nothing special on that those have been fine when I built this engine I didn't o-ring it which was a huge mistake but I was rushed to get it together so it is what it is it blew the head gasket once but it has held since um it hasn't been driven that hard though so it probably wouldn't take much to pop that um and so on this side we have uh Steed speed manifold T4 um it's inverted to clear the uh compounds and then like I'm sure most people know but if you're going to run compounds and your big Chargers is up in the air like this you need to have this spacer here on the manifold so that the outer shell of the turbo clears the manifold so that's from worly um and then I'm running uh Billet freeze plugs and then on also on this side so this is the stock um turbo drain line that's standard but when you run compounds on a 12 valve you have to go into the pan for the extra drain um and so when I did this one I was actually kind of in a rush to get to an event so I did the power driven tip of just you know punch a hole in the pan and then JB Weld A fitting in and it's held up like you can see there's like a leak and it's it's definitely not ideal um it can be done well better than I did it but highly suggest just welding a bung in um um and then I will try to get some part numbers for you guys on the Dual feed um but nothing is uh out of factory up here I mean this is how they come it's just one port is blocked off so they are different sizes where they thread into the block itself so that's what I'll try to find for you um but that's easy anyone can do that um on this side there's probably some things that like don't look normal like down here um the bracket for the tensioner and your coolant um is typically also has the bottom part where your AC compressor mounts too and because I'm not running any AC in this truck I figured I would just clean it up over here and so we hacked the the bottom of the mount off here and we just cleared out this bracket system I mean it's not necessary but it just gave some more room down there when it was in the truck um the last thing really on this side would be the fleece coolant bypass which I did um and then there's nothing really too special about the install on that uh it's basically just this rear freeze plug gets knocked out and then the kit tells you how to do the rest of it but it's very straightforward two bolts in the back your mounting tabs here and here um and then you just tap right into the the neck there on the coolant uh line so as far as fuel goes I'm running ducky 5x6 injectors um and then I'm running a maxed 180 Hors pump from feral and that's pretty um standard I mean he just he just basically maxed everything out I have a build sheet on it if anyone cares to know um but that's pretty straightforward um probably the most notable thing on this side that everyone asks about is this throttle bracket and I actually found the guy who made this uh on YouTube and I'll try to link his um page if I can find it again I had a hard time finding it the other day but um these are awesome kits I mean he sells these like as a system ready to go it's this lower bracket down here the spring was already attached this bracket then the actual bar itself and then this the system up here that holds like your throttle cable and then this arm as well it all comes together and uh as some of you might know the factory system is you know not only to me is it like way over cluttered it's also very very expensive for no reason I think this kit was actually like half the price of a factory throttle system so I mean definitely an investment but I I thought it was a no-brainer um another thing probably worth noting a lot of guys have done variations of this but um I've also been asked about my return system so basically I wanted to run everything in a in just because it's cleaner and it's it's easier I think um um so on this side this is just a like a brass compression fitting that goes right on the injector return I just cut the end of it off I put that on there I've never had it leak even a drop that's been great um and then just 90 into the Y um and all of this is is- six um and then up here most of you guys will know as well but like typically your pressure return valve is regulated through a banjo B and that's what regulates the pressure um I went with a keing machine check valve it's stuck down in here you can see it right there it's a 60 or this is a um 50 psi gauge and uh it's just mounted right in line that regulates everything very simple and then I just had one line that ran all the way back to the tank um and then to cover the rest of the engine stuff before I get into to other fuel things on the truck um someone might also notice that this pump looks a little different than theirs um this is a I know they sold them on some 4 BTS but it's basically just a normal power steering pump without the vacuum pump section in the middle um I found that kind of hard to find um they're just a little hard to get a hold of but this truck required no vacuum because of the chassis Swap and because I'm not running HVAC so I wanted to just delete it and not even have it there again just for the sake of cleaning things up so that's probably a little bit different for you as well um and in some point in the video I will go into my um power steering lines and how I rotted all that stuff as well because there were some unique things getting all of that to run in aend fittings as well um also on this side I'm running the king speed um tapet cover this thing is awesome and uh the guys at King speed were great uh answering a couple questions I had and calling me after hours and stuff so highly recommend those guys um and their their products are just awesome um I'm going to clip this video really quick I'm going to grab my catch can and I'm going to show you how I mounted all of that as well um cuz that's probably a lot of 12 valve guys don't uh run the system because people don't make kits for them so I'm going to show you how I did that really quick okay so this is how I have this vibrant catch can mounted here on the back um and once again I'm I'm so bad remembering this stuff but I I'll tag them in the in the description as well but someone makes this bracket for this vibrant catch can um that works on a common rail now I had to kind of cut it up and modify it where it mounts to the block to make this work for the 12 valve um typically it's held on with two bolts but I mean this thing's not heavy and it it doesn't really matter so uh that's normally where your tie down is going to go um or your your lift point so you basically have to take this bracket off and then just Mount the catch can there the way I had this set up um I was running the Dual you know breathers off of here and basically you know you'd Mount your your line down here and then just return it up to the can pretty straightforward I just had those two connected and then I was also running the kingp speed um fuel plate uh fuel pump block off which is sweet as well um and then that was just tied into the drain for the catch can so that would just Mount down here like so and then you know the lines would go up to the catch can that way I could you know automatically drain it and I was running an air dog so I didn't need that anyway so I figured that was a good solution so that's how that system worked um nothing too special um and then I will probably go on to show you guys how I routed the rest of my fuel in this video just to keep it kind of complete and a continuous thing um so I'm going to go do that now okay so in the truck here this was the feed line to the pump you can imagine it just 90s into the pump right here um and then that runs down to a t hopefully you guys can see the sensor poking out down there um try to get a focused angle there um and that's just to hook up to the gauges I have in the truck for the fuel pressure um and then I'm running power driv gauges on those so those are really straightforward um but you can see right there's the T um and then the other line that's just dangling down there would be the return line that goes onto this side of the engine where we come out of the Y so it just returns right down the truck uh right down the frame rail um and I will crawl under there and show you how the rest of that's set up okay so now we're under the truck here um you can see the line hanging that would have been the return line right there and then I ran all of these through the far from stock uh frame Mount brackets which highly recommend these these things are sweet you can adapt anything you want so like they have zip tie hold downs and then they have the a hold down so these are just normal aend clamps you basically all you're doing is you're drilling out the bottom side of the clamp um where the bolt will typically thread into drill that out smooth so that the bolt slips through you run a longer bolt and it just goes right into their bracket system so that's how all of this is mounted and I did that throughout the truck the Shadows are kind of bad but they run all the way to the back um it just makes everything a lot cleaner so on this again you know really straightforward but there's the uh I want to say I was using um -8 feeds um and -8 returns so I think I was actually wrong on the pump side those are those are -8 because I believe this is A-6 return from this pump here so if I got that correctly hopefully I do um again there might be a better angle of this bracket you can kind of see more of it here there we go all right so yeah so this all just returns it's tucked right in here um these are my trans cooler lines which I can run I can show that at a different time in another video um so I will go towards the back here and show you a little bit more and then I'll show you up in the bed to where I have my fuel cell mounted all right so here is the view from the back um this line that you can see that runs right here that's the feed line that jumps in and then the rest are just your engine return line which is the bigger one here and then the uh air dog return line which just goes to a y and I'm going to clean this stuff up a little bit more tuck it up in there um but that just runs through and goes right up through the bed here through that grommet and then on the top side here it's where I have my fuel cell so there's my return that way I could just have a single return because I'm not trying to you know punch a whole bunch of holes in the bed because it is pretty clean and you know I wanted to if I ever wanted to relocate the fuel cell or anything like that I I just didn't want to you know have a bunch of holes that don't make any sense so got that down to one and then there's the feed line right there that just goes right through the bed and follows the track so that's pretty much it for the fuel system um if you guys have any questions again just post them in the comments and I'll try to get to as many as I can um I also have uh Tik Tok and Instagram and I'm probably will be a lot better responding on those um especially like Instagram messages so I'll link that as well but if you guys ever have any questions just uh shoot me a message on there and I'll I'll probably get back to you a little quicker um the YouTube stuff's a little new to me so that's pretty much it for this video and uh I'll catch you guys in the next one
