hey everyone my name is Alicia and welcome to double a homestead and we have some very exciting news and we want to share that with you we had bought something that we feel is extremely crucial to homesteading here and helping us build this property into something that we want in the future and we want to share this with you guys so move this down all right so as Alicia had said we made a big purchase so this is the big purchase it's going to be very beneficial to the homestead I've already gotten so much stuff done my biggest concern is that we may run out of projects to do and I'm going to have to come up with some other projects or just go start doing things on the neighbor's property that they never asked me to do so let's go ahead and get into why we bought this and why we chose the tym or we get really into this it's going to show you something here at Smith's Enterprise so they're actually running a deal right now if you buy this hat they're going to throw this tractor in for free I do believe if you buy a hat just like this they can throw in any other model that you want as well so it's kind of a good deal that's mainly why we bought this so this is as you could see a tym so what is tym I know my dad was like what is tym he has an LS tractor so tym is basically like LS LS me tractors for other people tyma tractors for other people coyote makes tractors for other people of course you have the big ones like Kubota and John Deere those ones are way more expensive tym coyote LS in my opinion they're all kind of right there in the same tym has been making a big push in the American market and that's kind of why I went with this brand it's been getting a lot of publicity they've been really trying to up their game in the United States and LS like they they're pretty popular their marketing isn't as strong as tym right now and I believe coyotes kind of in the same boat I don't believe you could really go wrong with any of those The Smiths does also sell the ls tractor they do not sell the coyote so if you have one in LS or a tym reach out to Smith's the gentleman's name is Sean who I dealt with just make sure you tell them Andrew from double a homestead sent you and he's going to give you a good deal on a tractor I got four implements well if you count the loader and well I got the top link The Rake the box blade and the pallet forks and I got those for all pretty much what I was going to be able to get a tractor for at one of the local dealers so here is that Smith's Enterprise [Music] 910-567-2680 and like I said make sure you tell them Andrew from double a homestead sent you you are looking for a gentleman named Sean he's super helpful and their delivery driver couldn't be nicer but this model of this tractor is the HST t474 all that means is this is the hydrostatic versus the shuttle shift and then the t474 is the tym model as you may be looking at these tractors you'll notice Branson and Tim are now one tym bought Branson but this is one of the original Tim tractors it is not a Branson rebranded and I just I went with the t474 because it is uh it's still a Class 2 tractor so it is small enough for what we're doing it does still fit in our barn uh but it does have I think it's 47.8 horsepower it is a coup G engine uh they're out of Korea I think they were making engines or for about 24 years now they had some collaboration with the Cummins as well so they are a solid engine they're mechanical and that that you can't go wrong with mechanical especially in today's time now here's a look underneath the hood that long tube looking thing that is not a time capsule that is a DPF filter so unfortunately this does have the DPF filter on it and it will have to regen so here we got a side view of the cook G engine like I said it is 47.8 horsepower so far it's been uh it's been more than what we need it's been a great engine like I said too it is mechanical so that's a big plus one of the hot topics about buying a tractor is obviously the tires the tires could be the difference between you being stuck and calling your buddy or you driving right out of the mud so we went with the R14 tire so let's go through it real quick what tires are available and then why we chose this so you have the R1 that's going to be your agriculture tire that's the one you see on all the tractors plowing the fields that is going to be your most traction then you have the turf Tire I want to say that might be an R3 and I'm sure everybody's seen it it's kind of only get a golf cart make that tire put it a lot bigger put it on the tractor drive across your lawn if you're doing a bunch of stuff with just on lawns the turf tire is probably the way to go one of the most common is the R4 which that's going to be your Industrial Tire it's it's across so the R14 is a cross between the R1 the Agriculture and the R4 industrial if you look up a tractor right now chances are especially subcompact you're going to see what the Industrial Tire looks like a lot of like uh what do they call them the scat tracks the the Sky Lift things they they have the Industrial Tractor or Tire on them and so we went with the 14 because like I said it's a hybrid it's in between it does not tear up our lawn so when I do go across it no problem but we do get some white clay here in this especially in the springtime we do have a bunch of Springs around and so that water is overflowing onto our field and that's why I went with the R14 I heard plenty of things that were wrong with the R4 when it came to snow when it came to like wet clay and then I didn't want an AG Tire because I don't think I need an AG tire plus if I do go across our lawn it would just tear it up so the R14 was the choice for us and so far it's been great I've gone through some mud have not gotten stuck I've been able to get out and I would strongly recommend looking into it I believe when they came out they were an upgrade like financially but it might not be the case now just ask your dealer or contact Smith another thing outside of the tires is one big thing when you buy your tractor is your Implement so I think it's crucial to get the implements when you get the tractor so I think Smith is like I want to say 10 off implements when you buy the tractor so try and get as much as you can at the at the same time so the landscape rake I heard mixed reviews um like a family member of Mines like why would you need a landscape rake and somebody I work with is what's your next Implement and he said I really want a landscape rake well I'm glad I got the landscape rake outside of the power Forks it's been the number one used Implement I don't use the box blade as much and especially the uh the bucket itself like there's only so much you need to use the bucket for and I've been using this landscape rake every day I highly suggest looking into it I have a gravel driveway and so what I can do is I can use this to redo the dry driveway you don't just need a land planer which those are great I don't have one of course it'd be nice to have one and maybe in the future but this has just been so beneficial we put in a garden and all the sod I was able to get out with this and then I used the bucket scooped it out and it was basically effortless so landscape break is something to consider but of course like anything you need to figure out what you need why you need it and how much you're going to use it and is it worth the extra cost normally you're going to catch me in a pair of overalls and some boots on but I'm not going into the woods today I did figure out when I moved here I'm allergic to poison ivy so that's why I've always I switched overalls but it's a nice day I got some flip-flops on some shorts there's a t-shirt but I just wanted to say thank you for watching I wanted to stand next to this I'm five foot eleven this gives you a comparison of kind of what you're looking at height wise these do fold down as well if you got to put it in the your barn so just keep that all that in mind you know the size definitely makes a difference you need to measure out your uh your door that you're going to be putting this thing in this one fits no problem I leave the rops up but thank you very much for watching so again this is the tym t474 with the hydrostat obviously the open station so your dealer is going to ask you open station or cab when they say open station this is what they mean so don't forget call Smith's I'm not affiliated with them at all I just had such a good experience I feel it's important to recognize a good company especially a family owned one when you know they really do take care of the customer and I was informed the entire time what was going on with it especially on the delivery that the driver called me multiple times it was just a great experience but if you want to see this tractor in action later on just make sure you hit that subscribe button give us a like and leave a comment if you got something you want to see the tractor doing I will probably do another video when I hit the 50 hours I'm already up to 12 I've owned it for seven days so I see the 50 coming pretty soon unless I run out of projects thanks again for watching
