this video is inspired by survival of the richest the new book by douglas rushkoff more about that at the end of the sketch okay hi there hello fellow billionaires thanks for meeting me at the secret billionaire meeting spot of course i'm a billionaire me too since this meeting started i made enough money to buy montreal fantastic well great work billioning everybody so listen i called you here today because i got some intel that the event is approaching imminently the event are you referring to the end of the world that's right and my intel is that well look around wow so what finally did it was it pandemic nuclear war climate crisis yes that makes sense actually so we gotta decide you know what are we gonna do about this like how are we gonna help everybody no like how are we gonna get out of here what are you talking about oh i'm sorry i should have mentioned i bumped my head during an ayahuasca trip at burning man and now my doctor says i may have developed something called uh what do you call it he wrote it down for me a conscience oh i used to have that that is not good for business yeah that's definitely messed up so what are we doing how are we surviving the end of the world here i think we should put our minds up on the cloud or something you know or upload them onto computer chips that's interesting and then do what we i i don't know play minesweeper or something i hadn't thought of it beyond that to be honest i feel like a bunker system could be a good idea how do we keep the guards loyal to us when money doesn't exist anymore that's a good point i mean why wouldn't they just overthrow us and take control liking my employees loyal by giving them five dollar starbucks gift cards once in a while maybe we could do that i don't think that's gonna work okay so then best buy i don't that's still technically money i don't think that'd be worth anything well we'll give them food you know maybe food will become currency what's to stop them from killing us and taking the food though the food could be in a locked room that only we have access to well what happens if we die then they're all gonna be in a really rough situation are we gonna have a problem here i i mean i don't care what happens to people after i die if we ever die we're still working on that maybe our people will be loyal to us regardless you know maybe their love and admiration for us will be enough yeah i mean we've been good to people right not really no but some people treat us like gods anyway so maybe that'll keep going we could go to mars oh i'm very into the idea of leaving and not looking back at the consequences of our actions yeah that's an interesting idea i mean everybody at this table has one of those flying penises that go to space right of course so what would we do on mars we could i guess it'd be like a matt damon situation grow some potatoes with our feces oh god this sounds awful now that i'm saying it out loud wow well i guess we should have taken better care of this planet and the people on it huh this freaking guy yeah speaking of this freaking guy i just got a little ping here and his net worth just dropped to 998 million oh that's not a billion get this peasant out of here yeah get out of here pheasant no it's peasant oh it is okay i always thought it was like a bird related insult that makes more sense though fine you know what maybe i will go maybe i'll pack up my stuff and i'll get up oh god it's happening okay what are we doing we got to make a decision right now oh god okay okay okay well this isn't so bad what are we what are we supposed to do here exactly i mean i guess the logical thing would be to kind of you know try to accumulate as many of these squares as possible until the border's no longer usable yeah that makes sense let's do that hi there hello it's me ryan i jump scared you with my real person i just want to give a quick shout out to one of my favorite authors my friend douglas rushkoff and his new book survival of the richest if you happen to hear my appearance on his team human podcast a while ago you know that a lot of his books inspired a lot of my sketches so it was a big honor when he sent me his latest book to see if it would inspire any new sketches and it did then you just watched it and it's not too dissimilar from something he experienced in the real world which is messed up so if you're interested you can pre-order survival of the richest by douglas rushkoff by clicking the link in the description okay i'm going to stop being myself now i know this is kind of freaky what just happened i blacked out [Music]
