Hot tub maintenance

you [Music] [Music] all right the project at hand right now is I want to work on my hot tub area just doing some maintenance and repairs for the coming season so a few things I want to do here so I just spent some time yesterday I clean this all out really well what usually happens here is this thing kind of fills up the leaves so I want to get this door never had a latch on it I finally fixed that I want to get a cover over that window so when I'm not using it leaves aren't blowing in here let's do a little bit of work on the roof so for the hot tub itself one thing I want to do this area right here when I poured this concrete I actually did it in the dark and I noticed this was a low spot when I was pouring it but the truck driver didn't see it and then as we finished the pour over an after action I was like argh give me some more concrete over here the truck was empty so I raked it all in as but much as I could but that spot here this is like a half inch low right here so what I want to do is put like a step here instead you know probably the height of this one here for that whole puddle area so this hot tubs been working sweet but one problem it does get is a filled up of leaves so I want to get some something to close this up when I'm not using a 2 to keep the leaves out of it I want to give this like a coating I did put like blue dye in the concrete when I poured it but it faded I got some cool paint for a concrete you want to try that alright let's get to work here [Music] you some rebar you [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] all right that is three parts gravel two parts and I think I do one part cement [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] that here ever so slightly this way do something [Music] [Music] you I'm good with that I like it all right I got a little bit extra concrete in here want to try something [Music] I got these well I just ordered a bunch of molds but these these came first actually the two the other day they turned out good but I made it with mortar let's try of concrete all right maybe we should have left those in a drop longer but that's a fun thing to do with extra concrete I ordered some nicer molds though like puppies and more decorative stuff you that looks good I like that I mean I hope but there was always is puddle there so I think that's gonna take care of it let's look at this in the rain just running some water down these steps to see if it pools anywhere and it doesn't everything just runs that way because the the slab it's got a very slight downhill pitch to it on that side [Music] [Applause] all right well it gets real tempting to change the whole roof but I think this will go a few more years [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so I want to paint this now so it bringing a little less let me just drive that one spot [Music] that's all painted that one gallon of paint was exactly enough that's cool and Cody is such a good boy he just stays right here never missing always know where he is right you're a good dog you're a good dog [Music] [Music] [Applause] the problem leaves were getting this thing and it'll always be you know so now with these tarps all right well I'm happy with that I think that'll save a lot of time skimming leaves out of this thing okay you know that could be really cool too using this like closed up like this did you find a couch Cody yes pretty clean in here huh do you think [Music] all right so the hot tubs up there and to get up there to drive up there there's this path right here but sometimes there's not enough room to turn around up there so sometimes vehicles have to back down this and in the dark that can be a little interesting so one thing I want to do here is I have this lamp that someone gave me a couple years ago it's just been laying here I was trying to sell it haven't gotten a single call on the thing I want to put it up right here and just bolt it right to this rock so I kind of want to put I want to be able to drill through this rock you can tell actually if I go right there I can easily get underneath it so [Music] [Music] [Music] oh that's nice it's a little bit of extra light in this area all right so that's up there I made dig a trench to it at some point but this is this is bedrock right through here so it's not easy digging but there's the plug for it right there if I ever want to plug it in alright let's go up to the top of the tower I got a new mattress for up there you all right so I had this air mattress up here but you know I like the idea of an air mattress because the güell can get wet it's cheap but I think my air mattresses is they always go flat so let's just get rid of that you all right I think that mattress is gonna puff up a little bit more you're saying it takes three days but and this setup should be completely waterproof these mat these pillows have been doing fine like they get rained on and they're dry like immediately so hopefully this is they said this white thing was waterproof plus they left the plastic on it there's kind of the experience you pump on for the first time here [Music] [Music] are you
