[Applause] oh [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] all right guys it is getting much later in the evening and the rain is still not let up as you guys can see it is getting chilly yeah so layering up a little bit here still sipping on our coffees just about finished the bugs have let up though with this rain and the cooling temperature odd mosquito and little black flly around here which we're driving us nuts those are starting to go away now so what we're going to do is we're basically just going to hang out underneath the awning with the rain and get this scotle going so I do bring did bring brang brang brang I did bring the large scotle pan grab that out of here massive woo so that is big enough for both of us to cook on at the same time and not waste a ton of fuel we do have to scrub it a tiny bit cuz it was out in the snow the last time I was using it so a little bit of surface rust on there but uh we'll open that up get that on there that fired up I'm going to be doing steaks potatoes onions peppers I got pork chops and rice and an onion nice so we do all that there um they did bring garlic and some other things like montal steak seasoning um some marinade stuff and such so we're going to get that fired up get that cleaned off a little bit and then dig into the fridge get this area tided up so we can work on the tailgate table and this and our little makeshift table here and get cooking and hopefully see what happens later this evening I do want the rain I don't want the rain to stop but we might not have a campfire we might just huddle in one of the tents with the wood so yeah little bit so we'll see what the night brings uh we do have lights charging right now on the battery as well so I'll be able to get some lights hung underneath the awning light up this entire area which will be really nice but uh yeah let's get cleaned up and start on supper [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] all [Applause] for all right guys so we've got the scotle cleaned up and it is getting dark enough to actually use a light so I've been charging this light on the big battery unit get some light in here usually I hang this on the tail light that should work totally fine um there are two of us here working in this area so sometimes things get bumped around this Jeep is configured for me by myself on solo trip so having Mike here it's actually working really well we've got our chair set up around this area underneath the awning I do still have the diesel heater in here as well because I have been using that on other trips as it is still cold out that's going to come out my future plans for the Jeep are to rip the back seat totally out and build a deck with pullout drawers for the fridge and all that stuff cuz it is a two-door Jeep so it's very small so removing the rear seat's going to give us a ton of bit room in there for me doing all my trips and all that stuff so that is in the future but right now we are actually enjoying the aing totally dry underneath it here it's kind of interesting because everything is totally soaked except this neat little dry patch where the awning is which is awesome so digging into the refrigerator here we've got all kinds of goodies I've got my vegetables and stuff in a tuffware container which I'm going to dig out and start prepping that um I did crank the fridge down really really low just to blast some of the stuff with some cold air it says5 -6 that's what it's supposed to go to it's not actually neg5 or-6 right now otherwise everything would be frozen but what I did bring with me is let's have a look here so I've got four big Stakes one of those is going to be for Boomer uh three of them these are going to shrink up too so I'm going to cook that they'll shrink up so I'm basically doing three steaks to myself um I got some of these round potatoes Mike and I are going to share I'm going to cut those up I've got salt and pepper garlic I've got parsley fresh parsley green onion and got a whole bunch of stuff in here just stuff that I usually keep on hand in the refrigerator um I do have some really thick cut bacon that has actually been in here for last 2 or 3 days so it's a little Frozen um we were just looking for this I do have my cutting board it's dirty it needs to be cleaned it was frozen in here from another camping trip uh so yeah we do have a bunch of stuff in here I even have some of this awesome stuff this The Smokehouse bacon mail that'll go with the potatoes which would be really good so just going to kind of rumage through the refrigerator get what I need out of here and kind of start prepping some stuff so we can get some oil in that walk and get it fired up and start cooking a [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] now [Music] [Music] all right guys so Mike has assumed the Camp Chef on this trip I'm not complaining and on tonight's menu we have pork chops we have steak potatoes uh orange pepper onions mushrooms and parsley with some minced garlic salt and pepper and whatever spices you want Montreal steak seasoning you missed one there we go you did miss one yeah so Mike is just fascinated with this scotle idea so I'm just going to let him play I got to give me me one of these I'm not complaining it's raining cracking into a cold beer I'll have mine after and uh yeah Auto Chef tonight never drink and cook cuz you never know yeah you never know what you're especially when you're cooking meat I mean you get carried away and it's overcooked and just nasty oh yeah just nasty taste yeah so this scotle is an excellent idea I don't do links or anything like that down to my descriptions or video descriptions or anything but all I did was went on amazon.ca typed in ble this popped up so I'm loving it uh Boomer's having his dog food right now but he is going to get a whole steak which is he knows he's going to get it which is why he's sitting there staring at it he'll eat his dog food he'll do his thing for everyone who's asking me where's his water bowl lake so yeah funny thing dogs and drink out of lakes without getting sick if anyone's wondering yeah just the reason why I mentioned that is because I always in every video people ask where's his dog food where's his water dish he always eats and he always drinks that's the reason why he's still alive so just bringing that to your attention um yeah this is looking really good Mike's got two big pork chops I brought the four steaks we're just basically mashed together what we brought for like vegetables and stuff um everything's uh cooking Away really great I actually brought whole truffles that I'm going to put over top of my steak yes whole truffles I'm going to be slicing that over my steak I'll give you a little bit too if you want to taste it y um whole truffles are really really good if you guys have not had it I highly recommend get yourself some real truffles so I'm going to be slicing that over the steak once it's all cooked the beauty with the scotle is we started the potatoes first on purpose because we know that they're going to take a long time and then added food to that which doesn't take much time but the thing with the scotle is you can fan it out all the way around so right now Mike's got the meat more towards the center cooking that low and slow we've got the propane turned down nice little flame in there and the vegetables and stuff are just kind of off to the side continuing to cook very slow but ultimately staying warm so everything is hot the cool thing about this is you can actually pour water into the walk or The Big Dish and do rice and then when the rice is done scrape the rice off to the sides all the way around let the heat burn off the water so there's no more water in B bottom of the pan and and then you can cook in the center steak vegetables whatever you need and then mix it all in or dish it out separately so it's really awesome using this method of cooking while overlanding it's kind of the one dish does everything and then when you need to clean it grab the soap the little scrub brush do it up that way if you're out next to a river I like taking the river gravel throwing it in there and just scuffing it all the way around uh you can't hurt this pan it's very very simple to clean and it just works really really well so we're going to let this cook down like I said it is getting dark guys it's almost Nightfall we got one light on it's actually muted cuz we can't even see in the back of the Jeep right now uh the rain's still raining you guys can see that out on the lake which is making for an awesome atmosphere the tents are dripping wet on the outside the stoves are going to be awesome later on tonight going to be doing a little bit of wood prep inside of the tent but not a whole lot cuz Mike did bring that top of aare container there full of firewood but we do have some of these logs outside I think we are going to go ahead and try for fire honestly might as well split this down it's dry enough we can light a fire no problem so we'll get that sparked up maybe while we eat maybe right after we eat and uh kick back and relax and then take it from there guys [Applause] all right guys we've got our steak and pork chop and food ready Mike's going to try some of this truffle give it a shave with this truffle slicer it looks delicious and some crumbles there oh just try this piece yeah very very good stuff so for those who have not tried truffles before very deep earthy flavor to them it's almost like a Musky mushroom and like a root Essence I can't really describe it you get really good Truffles and they're earthy they're meaty there's a lot of texture to it what do you think they're good they're really good but yeah like I just you just can't scub the flavor to them it just just there very earthy yeah and the truffle oil that comes in the container poured that on my steak oh man really good so I do have a steak off to the side no truffle no parsley no garlic for Boomer it's on my plate it has to cool down so I'm not going to give it to him right now because he will try to inhale it no joke and uh he will burn himself so it is still training grab some of these potatoes onions all that good stuff I did bring some Smoky bacon Mayo which Mike is in love with that is amazing super good actually really really good really good if you have not tried it find it buy it eat it I got it here in Halifax at soie so which a compliment to Brand uh if you're in Canada yeah not sure if compliments brand is sold anywhere else to be honest me are I'm not I'm not 100% I'm not totally sure I'm just going to pop this there yep put that under there so I can wash that up after cool so whenever I film overlanding trips I try and do them I don't know a little less formal I mean I'm a I'm a filmmaker I do things cinematically I'm a photographer I like to put in some effort to my content I like to look back on my content be happy with it but I doing overlanding trips it's kind of like a typical YouTube video in my mind W with with a friend yeah so it's more of a vlog video type style I don't dive too deep into the the whole cinematics when I got company here I haven't had Mike on the channel in a very long time so Mike's Mike's groomed I've trained Mike I'm an OG I've trained Mike to to know how to be around the camera I know how he works which makes it incredibly easy uh I can just look over and not even say anything just give him a kind of a look and he'll like o cameras on like you know which works great because Mike has a YouTube channel as well if you don't know I'll put the link down in the description if you guys are interested he is back filming on his own channel now would you take like a three month uh it's almost six 6 months so 6 months off he's back to filming content now y uh mention your Channel if you want I'll put the description the link to his channel down in the description it's called Uh East Coast wild camping yeah um it's a little hard to search cuz for with YouTube channels if you don't upload on a regular basis sometimes a channel you type it in and it doesn't pop up it's hard to find where he hasn't uploaded in a while it'll be hard to find that's why I'm going to put the link in the description but if you guys are interested check it out yeah and got some decent stuff on there you know but I'm always trying to improve myself better videos better uh I'm still using the same gear as I did before well we'll start somewhere yeah but I've got some pretty decent stuff oh man and I'm just trying to use the same things different ways in different scenarios you know if you know what I'm trying to say yeah and it's interesting because Mike and I Mike's been around for a long time so he's seen me start out with like two t0 then he see me when I got the 20010 I can tell you it doesn't get happier the more gear you have the more stress Yeah the more just it's not fun so now that I'm pulling back getting I'm not going to say like downscaling it is downscaling massively but what I'm doing is what I've learned having all that gear what do I like so now I know what I like I'm not collecting just every piece of gear I'm focusing on specific spefic type of tents specific type of clothing specific type of cooking gear that way I have one or two instead of five or 10 of the same thing same thing but just different um not about the gear I'm about this like can you guys hear that the rain on the tarp the rain on the lake The Crickets are out in full force MH that's what it's about now not about all the gear so we are going to kick back and uh have you have you tried that truffle yet by the way yeah it's actually like not a piece of meat I got right here oh man mine's like smothered in trouble it's good yeah I'll get Boomer a little bit they stick here I don't even know if dogs can have truffle I haven't looked it up there's no truffle on this no garlic or anything like that here loves it m so yeah we're going to eat up it is almost Nightfall here dark uh the rain is letting up it's still raining a full force the lake is just Pitter powder being under the tarp it's not that bad but I think we can spark that fire up put it on a sweater jacket and at least sit in front of the fire enjoy a drink or two y I mean if we get soaking wet who cares we got wood stoves in both of our tents we can hang our gear we'll dry out this isn't our first time no um interestingly we're also talking not next so when this video goes up part one or part two my next camping trip not part one or part two but I believe the next camping trip after that or did I get that wrong um I don't know I'll look it up when I get home yeah but it's going to be 500 number 500th episode so I do have something planned not going to let out of the bag uh hopefully I did my math correctly because I could have swore I could have swore next trip that I do part one or part two and and then the first episode of the next trip after that is episode 500 year from now yeah I'll figure it all out I got a look on my YouTube channel figure it out right now we don't have service so we'll figure that out uh but yeah we're going to dig in eat up and we'll catch up with you guys in a little bit hopefully we get the campfire going see what the rain does and uh yeah I get to eat before it gets cold so dig in all right guys we just finished up with supper and like I was saying earlier how easy the walk or the scotle is to clean out I just ran over to the lake rinsed it out got some soapy water in here from the lake well water from the lake added soap to it and hopefully the lake doesn't have soapy water in it so going to let this do its thing crank on some heat here uh supper was great we're both stuffed I'm so full Boomer yeah Boomer had two steaks actually I had to scrape all the stuff off of it so he can eat the second one and uh yeah he he de bowed it he had some of my pork chop as well and pork chop yeah he ate good tonight top of his dog food yeah yeah he's uh he's stuff so going to clean this out super simple let this get nice and hot and already it's like basically falling off the pan just scraping it a couple couple scrapes there so this will do its thing and uh the rain it's still raining but it's not massive it's more of a drizzle right now the Crickets listen to this crickets and the peepers full force tonight it's going be beautiful sleep listening to that little bit of the crackling wood stove yeah one thing we are missing is loons haven't heard a loon yet I did the other uh probably two weeks ago I was out camping I heard them calling to each other way late in the night which is really nice but uh yeah I'm going to get this cleaned up we're going to clean up the Jeep area get it situated for nighttime and then I am going to split some of the wood over here and I think we're going to work on some kindling and stuff to get over towards the fire pit I think so spark that up and kick back and enjoy some cold beer yeah all right guys we've got everything cleaned up and just cracking in this container that Mike brought this is all hardwood what is this Elm uh Willow Willow okay I was going to say it's kind of light for hardwood it's a soft hardwood okay so a lot of Willow Wood in here some with the bark on it's already split super dry um what we're going to do is Mike's actually going to take the container in his tent with him I'm just going to bang out a few pieces because I actually have some pieces of hardwood that have been laying around out here that I put inside of the tent earlier on plus we are going to split down some of these rounds that we've got kicking around here with the axe on the chopping block and we're going to give a shot of lighting the outside fire the rain did pick up so I'm not sure how long we're going to be outside uh we're within hollering distance of one another and if you guys have been on the channel for a long time you probably watched a few videos where we're hollering back and forth joking around from one tent to the next tent being goofballs that'll probably happen uh so I'm just going to dig in here I'm not going to take a whole lot um I'm just looking for specific pieces that I know will fit in my stove cuz your stove's lengthwise my stove is widthwise uh that's like my Max that's my Max 8 to 10 in wide yeah soever I'll leave you with a bunch I'll take one more some of it's kind of funky feeling but I'll take I'll take a lot two more oh yeah what is that it's so we're good I've got a little bit here I'm not going to I don't plan on burning all of it um I thought this was hardwood oh it is it's a soft it's a soft hardwood it it's it's a hybrid um but I like I said I do have some of the Birch rounds that are in there I'm going to bring my electric chainsaw inside of the tent I know that sounds strange but I actually forgot my saw Mike brought his Boreal 21 I had my Boreal 24 packed forgot it but I do have my electric saw in the jeep that is there all the time so I'm going to bring that in the tent and I'm probably going to bring this chopping block inside of the tent when we do go in for like our separate tents for the night so I'll do some wood prep in the tent later on this stuff only needs to be lobed like once like this is light it's ready to go I've got some sticks we did grab some branches right behind Mike I'm try not to Blind him with this light but behind Mike there's actually a softwood tree that was there when we got here so we broke off a bunch of Limbs when started the rain and stocked both tents full of drywood so that's the plan that's all yours I won't need any of that um I don't like I don't I won't burn my stove that long honestly I'll toss in some wood let it do its thing um I got Bloomer to keep me warm Mike will burn more wood than me most likely um every time we go hot tenting I always hear this guy Tink Tink Tink Tink the stove door opening and shutting late at night and I'm just like there Mike throwing Another Log yeah so he'll do his thing I'll do my thing I've got wood in there prep up get this chopped up but right now we're just going to get this inside the tent separate it and then get to work on splitting some of this wood so we can actually have an outside fire for for [Music] [Music] is the it's is is [Applause] [Applause] thing [Applause] sh a [Music] up [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right guys so it is pouring with rain outside right now I was just over at Mike's tent and he's got his stuff pretty well situated he's actually got his wood stove already stocked and ready to go so I split all the wood for the outside fire it's pouring with rain so I'm just going to spend some time in the tent doing what he's doing getting my tent ready and if the rain lets up I imagine we'll head outside if not then we might just split that wood that I just processed for an outside fire and use it for our individual tents so what I've got right now is some of this Birch that I just cut with the electric chainsaw I'm going to split this open lay it around the stove so it has time to dry out cuz it's not quite dry not nowhere near as dry as this stuff that he brought but the reason why I've got my okay let me explain this for a second I've got a ground sheet half of it Boomer sleeping on top of my sleeping bag right now I do not have my sleeping pad set up the reason is because Boomer's in here and as you guys know he needs a tent slippers on his little booties so his nails don't puncture my pth so I've got everything kind of pushed aside right now I'm going to split these down in the tent cuz it's pouring with rain outside and I'm going to do it over here with not a whole lot of room because I don't want the wood smashing the glass to the wood stove so I'm kind of hiding off the side right now it's not a massive piece of wood so like this should split fairly simple I say that but we'll find out oh yeah okay that'll split yeah no problem there I just don't want it go on flying all over the place just enough to open it up like that guys I could baton it down but honestly that's super simple so I'm just kind of driving the axe partially way through there and then flipping it over and uh continuing to split that way which is a really good method if uh you don't have a lot of swinging room behind you or you just don't feel like pounding in or your axe is stuck in the wood so doing it this way I could prep this stuff and use the drier wood to burn the stove to dry out this stuff to then burn it later possibly in the morning but you guys can see that just split no problem I actually have a huge run of water coming in the tent from behind me which is kind of funny um because I don't have a full ground sheet for this Tent today it's not really needed to be totally fair I'm on top of a sleeping pad on a ground sheet partial so I'm totally fine and the reason why I didn't bring the ground sheet for this one I forgot it but two that's not important the important part is the reason why I usually don't bring a ground sheet is because I split wood inside my tent and if you have a ground sheet it's going to get tore up by your boots shoes wood all kinds of things so having a half ground sheet is usually all I really require and uh yeah usually I make out pretty well with that now I know a lot of you are probably thinking je a hatchet would be really useful it actually wouldn't because it lacks the weight of the axe so by using the weight of the axe with a really small limited swing cuz I'm inside of the tent the axe weight actually carries the axe through the wood which makes it a little bit easier to do this so I'm going to prep all this up including this super dry stuff which really should split like nothing this stuff is like bone dry so I'm not going to prep this too small because it's so dry it'll burn up really quick but this will make really really great kindling and even with my knife I can use a piece of uh oh piece of this wood right here and uh really just baton it down and that'll split like butter that is super dry super easy to split so get this prepped up toss a really dry pieces on top of the stove I'll pop those inside the stove in just a moment it's so soft you can literally baton it with your hand which I don't recommend doing cuz it does hurt a little bit but that's how soft that stuff is so get this stuff prepped up get the wood stove stocked check in on Mike see how he's doing and uh make a call whether we're going to go ahead with the outside fire or just uh do a hot tent life for tonight so I'll catch up with you guys in just a few minutes all right so we just made up a decision and the rain still coming down um Mike has a larger tent than mine so instead of sitting out here in the cold damp rain which it is noticeably damp and cold right now guys um and letting all the dampness in here on all the electronic which is not smart I've got some drone batteries charging I was charging a light I'm going to have to plug a couple more things in for the night but what we're going to do is take some of this wood that we've already split up for outside bring it inside to Mike's stove cuz he has a long deep stove which we can get these pieces in my stove is a little bit shorter but it's wide so I can go with wise and load some pieces of wood in there but this stuff will work totally fine we're going to go hang out in Mike's tent for a little bit uh have a couple drinks have a couple you know Chit Chats uh enjoy the wood stove Boomer's itching to get in there too's he's looking for that wood stove so we're going to button up the Jeep get everything straightened up and uh get the wood in the tent and light the fire all [Applause] all right so chilling out here inside of Mike's tent and he's got the fire going rolling smoke outside drizzling rain actually quite a heavier rain now it is the peepers outside and the Crickets are just full force and just cracking into another beer here so I got a jalapeno ale this is pretty awesome it's a chili flavored beer it is a little spicy huh it's actually really good it's a light hitter coming in at 4.6% but it's actually pretty decent jalapeno beer you get a a brown ale don't you uh yeah I got a yeah you got a Brown Ale Beer Wick brown ale from a local uh nano brewery yeah Brewery so this is actually good this from Garrison Garrison Halifax really good so that stove he's got it loaded right now with some soft wood just damping it down now cuz it's starting to do with heavy puff which I've explained in a lot of videos of mine once your stove starts doing that heavy puffing it's breathing really heavy too much oxygen so what happens is every time it breathes it's like a lung inhale exhale it'll actually spit smoke out of the vent into your tent when it does that so that's a very clear sign to damp it down too much oxygen too fast which Mike just did which comes with experience too so I mean does if you're inexperienced and you're going to try a hot tent stay home and in your backyard absolutely in your backyard burn it where you're in safety you know the tent door is not shut uh cuz any signs I mean that sign right there the H the some people might think that's cool and go oh my stove's really ticking away it's burning really hot it's not smart a lot of reasons why it's not smart one your pipe's going to get red hot all the way up which a lot of stove Jacks have a failing Point it'll actually burn out your pipe can actually fail the glass can break if it's it's too cold and heats up too quick uh your stove can warp horribly surrounding elements around it which might not smoke or catch amember due to gradient heat uh when the stove reaches that really Peak it might actually ignite neighboring pieces of wood that we're drying out right now there's just a slew of things that can go wrong the biggest one is puffing smoke in your tent and I know a lot of people are going to say gez I would notice that well what if you loaded your stove full of wood and rolled over and went to sleep and started doing that now it's puffing and you can actually see it puffing on every single exhale smoke inside your tent this is a very tall tent but even this would fill up with smoke very quickly oh it would definitely now Mike sleeping on the ground tonight if he were up on elevated cot he'd be higher in the smoke so a lot of things to consider um it's not our first time hot tenting I've been doing this for many years and coaching Mike along his way as well uh it's just one of those things you got to learn the sounds the sight and the smell and a boomer stealing your firewood and and another thing uh a lot of you may not take into consideration is if you're deaf in one ear and you happen to roll over and you're sleeping on your nde ear you can't hear nothing right or if you're sick and like your sense of smell's gone y that too um a lot of wood stoves and I've said this over many videos hot tenting is more more nonvisual than visual you will hear things I certainly hear things with my stove no matter what stove I'm using what wood I'm burning I hear things that I know are like no NOS or dangers I'll smell things that are no no dangers like just a odd smell of something burning weird uh the hot tent Jack material gets too hot it lets out a real dank chemical smell I've smell that too yeah um smells different when it Ember lands on the outside of your tent and it's not raining that smell you want to get that in quickly so it doesn't burn a big hole your tent won't catch on fire from the number that's a total myth um it'll melt first it'll melt yeah yeah uh it won't burst in a flame that's a myth H unless you're cat couch something in gasoline or something silly like that it's just not going to happen uh but there's a lot uh that's a big spider that just caught my attention there's a there's a lot of things that are sight and smell and touch you know uh feeling you might be sleeping he's back right fire right now but if he was closer and he feels his face get really hot that's generally just the incline of the heat building in the stove and it'll Climax and then dissipate but sometimes you'll feel that heat get really hot and you're like geez that's burning really strange and you'll roll over and look at you go wo that stove glowing way too hot so there's a lot of things you know all your senses come into play just uh if you're learning wood stoves like Mike said learning in your backyard yeah best thing make sure you're comfortable with everything that you're doing before you head over to the field yeah in the middle of nowhere where you don't have nothing or nobody yeah and the biggest thing like I find a lot of people get these small affordable tents which are great I use a lot of them but the space is very limited and the oxygen and the tent's very limited as well so yeah just be mindful of that stuff I've got a bunch of videos on my channel how a hot tent if you guys go back to the playlist and stuff like that all kinds of hot tent Miss how to hot tent you know how to burn wood stoves gear testing that I do all things like that so check out that uh right now we're just going to get the stove burning we've got the door wide open right now so we're not looking for heat we're looking for more comfortability so once we get this dialed in we'll probably zip the door shut partial uh he's got the roof vent open your back vent is shut right now oh but yeah we'll get it dialed in and get it off fig do get comfortable see Boomer's right at home yeah he's right at home in the right next to the heat right next to the heat stealing that firewood yep loving it so but that sound that rain on the tent awesome so cheers guys we're going to kick back and enjoy this hot tent yeah [Applause] for for for for that is [Music] for for for for for [Applause] good morning guys it is a wet and Misty morning out here today I've already started packing up so we had a really late night last night I should probably rewind a little bit we didn't get to bed till probably about 2:30 to 3:00 in the morning last night we were up quite late inside of Mike's tent with that wood stove rocking he's just waking up right now and uh I'm just kind of enjoying the quietness out here I've already had coffee on the edge of the lake and Boomer's out here now just kind of wandering around I'm packing up the awning to the Jeep cuz it did rain really hard all night last night and early morning this morning it is now let up giving me a great opportunity to really get a lot of this water running off the awning before I roll it up cuz who knows when the next time I'll get on a sunny day to actually set it up and dry it out so I'm going to let that drip for a little bit my wood stove is just about burned out I've got to get that taken apart and to shake the tent off and get that down before this rain comes back because it is really cloudy and Misty and it's forecasted rain all day so with this break in the weather going to get all this stuff packed up and uh continue on the road for all right guys so that awning is one of the fastest awnings I've ever owned to pack away literally 30 seconds to roll it up velcro it zip it shut Overland Vehicle Systems I've had a lot of awnings and this thing the bag is generous in size the straps are generous in length actually roll it up and get it in there I've had other awnings in the past that just don't fit and you got to wrestle with it get on top of the vehicle fight with it this is super super easy especially for 270 awning so about 30 seconds to roll it up zip it shut done and ready to hit the road it all right guys I've got everything out of my tent and it's now time to take it down one thing I do want to mention with this particular tent um this is the X4 Pro from pomale and one thing I would really really like to see is then get rid of these pull sleeves if this entire tent was exoskeleton just like this I would absolutely love it that is my only issue with these Dome style tents they're big tents to have to snake a pull through a sleeve all the way around the tent uh one two three I think there's four sleeves on this particular tent that's a lot and then they got these little half sleeves which aren't terrible they're only you know 12 to 14 in long that I can live with but even that we we I mean they could eliminate that no problem just by going to these pole Clips just like other companies do um I personally I would love it that's the only problem I have with this tent it makes it a little cumbersome to set up snaking those poles through the sleeves um it's it's just really not needed so with extra clips and all these guot points the tent can be solid I mean I have tents from nor tent that are total exoskeleton and they hold up to some of the harshest weather conditions in the world so it'd be really nice to see these sleeves eliminated and just go to those clips so I am going to pass that on to the Pali team cuz I work with them very closely um and hopefully fingers crossed we can get a dome with no pole sleeves for all right guys we've got all the tents packed up wood stoves everything inside of the Jeep Mike actually managed to get all of his stuff inside of that tote we did not bring any of the firewood back we're actually going to leave it here for the next person so he's strapping that in on the back rack the top of the Jeep's totally empty all my stuff's inside so pretty slick system it'll be super easy when I drop him off at home all you got to do is grab the one coat making this really simple Boomers around here chewing on some sticks doing his thing we're basically ready to get out of here the Trip's over guys super simple morning this morning just wake up wood stove coffee listen to the loons pack up and get out of here before the rain comes in so all in all good trip I had fun good food and the rain holy jeez we had all kinds of food yeah I was really excited for the rain too it is definitely going to come back so going to wrap this one up guys check out part one and part two of this episode
