HONOR X9b 5G: Super Durable, But Also An EXCELLENT Budget Mid-Ranger!

[Music] Hello everybody welcome back to the channel now honor Malaysia just launched a brand new smartphone it's called the honor x9b and it kind of looks like this we have the one in Orange as well as the one in Black now let's talk about this device because that's actually quite a fair bit of improvements brought onto the x9b compared to its predecessor the x9a and the best part straight out of bat is that the price is maintained that means it's still rm499 but we're seeing upgrades all around every single aspect of the phone has been upgraded compared to its predecessor so let's talk a bit about that in today's video now first and foremost uh I have to point out the fact that this phone is obviously made to be even more durable than the x9a so this time around honor is actually enhancing or reinforcing the display at the front so it's multiple times more tougher and more drop resistant compared to the X9 a now obviously you might have seen a couple of videos already on the internet of people just throwing the phone smashing the phone using the display as a hammer to nail onto any kind of wooden planks well I did not do all that but I did saw the videos as well so right off the bat you guys already know that this is supposed to be a very strong display now obviously I did a very basic test just down stest I dropped it a couple of times on the ground it did sound very painful so I started off by dropping it on a wooden platform near a pool for the x9b it's just a walk in the park so I went to a sort of like harder ground I think it was made of PS and all that I just smashed the phone a couple of times again the phone did not crack there was no issues whatsoever to the display there wasn't even a scratch in fact on the display of the x9b and at the end of the day it was still working now what does this really tell you as a consumer and a user well basically that means that your phone itself if you are the kind of careless person you drop your phone very often well most of the times the device itself will not crack it is very very strong in terms of comparing it to other smartphones in the market so say for example you drop a different Brand's phone obviously it might be very easy to crack compared to the x9b which is going to be tougher and in fact owner is actually uh quite confident with the display here that they are actually giving you a free oneyear sort of like front and back crack replacement warranty so if you do happen to smash the display or even the back panel for that matter within a year they actually replace it for you f so pretty cool there from honor Malaysia well now that we have talked about the durability aspect of the display itself in fact the display itself is rated by SGS as five stars for drop resistance so yeah you can again be very confident with using your phone without a case anyways um moving that aspect out of the video uh we have already established that this is a strong display strong phone very durable all around let's talk a bit about you know what is it really like to use the x9b and how it has been improved compared to his predecessor well back to the display obviously we do now have a 1.5k display that means everything is going to be even sharper it refreshes at 120 Hertz the size itself is a 6.78 in unit and of course we do get a curved ol display at the front that means that your colors contrast levels everything is going to look very beautiful on the display itself so that's that now moving on to the power itself what's powering this device well right now we are having a Snapdragon 6 gen 1 if I'm not mistaken this is the first device to come powered by the SD 6 gen 1 here in Malaysia well compared to the last generation 695 is actually a way way more improved processor by about 3 5% just in terms of its CPU as well as its GPU so again you're going to be getting stronger performance on the honor x9b now other than that honor didn't stop there they actually went and improve the amount of ram that you have on the phone as well so for the same price back then you were getting 8 GB of RAM but right now it's 12 GB right at the start so cool stuff there 12 plus 8 GB of virtual Ram if you want to do that that means that you can run more applications in the background it also comes with an improved storage guys so right now it comes with 256 GB which is still the same as last year but it has been improved to ufs 3.1 that means that you know storing files taking it off from your phone everything is going to be faster your apps might launch a little bit faster as well compared to before so in terms of power again all across improvements to the honor x9b now moving on to the next X here in terms of the cameras at the back we do have a triple camera setup but this time around honor has increased the main camera's resolution to 108 maps and of course with a higher resolution camera you can capture pictures with more details I took a couple of shots during my previous trip to I think it was ker and we actually captured quite a fair bit of pictures I'm going to show you the samples on your screens right now for a device that costs under 1,500 ring I would say that the camera itself here definitely beats higher than its expectations so it's definitely quite a capable shooter that you're getting at the back of the honor x9b 108 Maps a lot of detail a lot of clarity all right now moving on to the next Point here guys in terms of the battery this is actually a quite interesting one because honor actually increased the battery capacity all the way up to 5,00 ,800 MH now I haven't heard that kind of large capacity in most phones in fact it's still a very slim device guys it's not like it's gone thicker or gone fatter or anything it's still a very slim device but yet it came with a 5,800 M battery and of course the guys at DX Omar actually put the battery to the test and gave it a Gold label for the battery so you can expect some pretty good battery life on the honor x9b if you are the kind of person who expects a lot in terms of battery life from a phone well the x9b is here to help you out with that um moving on to the final Point here the final Improvement that's has been done to the device itself is obviously in terms of its design now honor is saying that they are like elevating the premium experience for a device that cost under 1,500 ring and yeah you do have the standard Black Version but you also have this uh vegan leather sunrise Orange version that actually feels very nice to hold it's very soft touch everything you would expect from a vegan leather back panel overall I think it gives a lot of grip as well especially if you do not want to use a phone case it's definitely very nice to touch here and I think this this is a nice upgrade that we are seeing here on the honor x9b obviously again like I said honor is giving that oneyear front and back crack warranty so if anything happens to the back you can still go back to honor Malaysia to get a replacement but yeah there's also this nice new like sort of like gold ring surrounding the camera module is on the gold as well as on the black they both have that gold ring that set to you know Elevate the entire look but yeah pretty nice designs here still very slim and very easy to identify that this is an honor device well with that said uh that pretty much sums up my quick pick on the honor x9b again a very capable phone for under the price of 1,500 ring just to quickly give you a recap we are having an even stronger display at the front so it's going to be more drop resistance you are also getting a better processor faster RAM and storage higher resolution cameras at the back larger battery on board so quite a fair bit of
