Honda Monkey: Escaping to the wilderness on my tiny motorcycle

it is a beautiful day today sun shining we got a high of 68° do I have about a half dozen projects that are begging to be worked on today yes am I going to work on any single one of them no I am not that's going to be in the way [Music] [Music] [Music] come [Music] [Music] okay [Music] [Music] wohoo yes changed strategies about six times in the middle of that in the end it might have been faster to just finish this camper project and then take the monkey out but here we are [Music] okay [Music] [Music] probably should have waited to screw the seat back in until I see if it actually starts oh well nice just going to P some refreshments probably not really necessary I don't really think I'm going to be gone that long I don't really have any plan or goal today this is a bit spontaneous it's just been a really long time since I was riding the motorcycle since before I even started building the boat so I'm just going to try to find a road to try out see what happens I guess [Applause] [Music] [Music] ooh this is a first for me definitely not something I learned in motorcycle driers Ed a bee flew up my sleeve while I was driving and it was just stinging me the whole time I guess maybe it was a wasp then but anyway it was just stinging me repeatedly as I turned off the road to park here ouch wasps are a bunch of jerks good thing I'm not allergic that would have been a bummer of an end to this okay I don't really know where I am first few minutes of writing I'm already reminded both of how fun and pleasant it is and how much I don't like going fast or driving around cars I do not trust those Sons of Guns and for good reason the guy at the gas station as I was filling up was like be careful my friend got killed on a motorcycle here so that's why I come to the Wilderness I [Music] guess the giantest bug just hit me in the face I don't know maybe it was a hummingbird it was so big this is good I'm remembering all the things I need to know I want to go up here but unfortunately too much of a rule follower [Music] [Music] I kind of want to go down there but I'm also kind of scared looks 300 times easier than the ones I was going on last year but I'm afraid it has sand and I am scarred from trying to drive in the in Moab last year whatever guess I should just send it it's Sandy I got to unsend it I'm being a huge chicken but you know what it's day one of the whole season just not in the mood to crash or get stuck W wo still rolling the night still open to find a future for [Music] me I'm still in this B I pray for for the night to go easy on me this is not bad at all okay this is amazing wonder if I can paddle board here it's not even that cold should I do a dunk right now just kidding that would make for the worst return trip of all time this is so nice though I was going to do a bunch more exploring on my motorcycle but I don't know I might just sit here and soak in the sun I should have brought a book I can see a tiny little wait is that a tadpole no it's fish so in case you are new here I bought my motorcycle a couple years ago because I was moving into a school bus and and I didn't want to have to drive a school bus every time I wanted to go to the grocery store or whatever never really ridden motorcycles before that and I learned to do so very reluctantly but I love it now still very unskilled I don't even really want I'm not to say I don't want to get skills but I don't even like going fast so I don't have the bus anymore I live in a house now so I really don't need to have a motorcycle anymore but I love it so I'm in the position now of trying to figure out how it kind of fits into my life now into my routine now that I'm not a school bus dweller last summer I tried taking on some off-roading trails and pretty quickly learned that both the bike and I have kind of low limits of what we can handle me more than the bike the only thing I really know is that I enjoy I most enjoy driving it around not very well trafficked dirt roads but I don't have a huge need in my day-to-day life to commute on such roads I don't even know why I'm saying all this really I guess I guess just to say that right now my main goal is just to kind of figure out what kind of a motorcycle person I am I must admit this is a lot more fun than building a boat right now [Music] oh well that was a short little ride but super worth it I hit 2,000 mil just as I was getting back next on the agenda with the motorcycle oil my chain or whatever you're supposed to do because I've never once done that I keep forgetting go motorcycle camping I I've been wanting to do that for so long I bought a bunch of stuff for it last year thinking that I was going to go and then I missed my window and it got too cold and then just spend more time puttering around and enjoying it because that was that was very worthwhile [Music]
