hello everyone today I want to show you our work boxes that we have set up here for third grader and you can start something like this up for any grade going from kindergarten all the way until high school I love this system because it helps children work independently see how much work they have left and it really motivates them to do their work this system was created by sue Patrick and then I have modified it to fit our needs and also work with the small space that we have this is actually a little corner of my bedroom in which I have this is the only possible place and it's working really beautiful for us we have been using the work box system this way for many years now so let me start over here with the bulletin board so here we have a little bulletin board for her where she can put up her drawings things that she loves that inspire her over here we have the completed work little sticker chart for the work box system and I'll share with you guys how that works in just a minute then over here I have her spelling words on the side over here and these are her weekly spelling words so I have them displayed here so that she can do her her spelling activities for the week and also write her spelling words every day in her spelling notebook then over here I have her desk and I love this desk I got an enamel son along with the chair there both had adjusted when I got him in Amazon for a decent price and in the desk I just have some DVDs as she needs to be watching for the first week of school I have her IEW student writing intensive and that she needs to watch a lesson in there I have learned our history the origins of America she's gonna be watching something from there and then I have her time stealth learn the upper time Stables in a snap so those are the three things that I want her to be watching this week my kids really don't watch any type of cartoons or anything like that in the week but I do have educational things that they do watch down there I have a little caddy that she uses to do work with me on the bed if I am with the baby at the moment she works with me on the bed in the morning to do her math so over here I have the work pack system and these are just two pins that I got at I think Walmart or Target they're stacked so it brings three drawers each and I stacked them and then up on the top I have a little basket in the basket I have her morning binder and I've made a video of our second grade morning binder and I'll link it below for you guys but I will be making a video let me know if you guys want to see a video of our third grade morning binder I have so many wonderful things in here but what I wanted to quickly show you was that in here this year here's her little sticker chart because if she finishes her work before lunch time she gets a sticker that's what motivates her to finish before lunchtime so over here I have the weekly lesson plan that's something that I have different this year so that she can work independently so it tells her everything that she needs to do for each subject so for math she know she needs to do 2a and 2b next she needs to do her flashcard practice for vocabulary she needs to know she know she needs to do 1a and 1b and it tells you what page number and what to do for each of the lessons in here I have a bunch of things you guys and I will be sharing it if you let me know if you're and just it but in here quickly show you I have other things that we do for the morning time I have horror poetry posters so every month we memorize a poem one and we also memorize a song so I have all types of things in here that we do for memory work and for charts that I want them to use throughout the year all right so once she knows what she needs to do she can start working on it and it's a really neat way to keep it over here I have her flashcards and I have her multiplication and her addition facts in there over here I have a little bag with all of her supplies and here I have the reader she's going through those so ian's to safra's series right now and so she reads 20 minutes on her independent meter every day as well so once she knows what she needs to do according to the lesson plan she goes to the first bin here which is fluency logic so over here I have copies of what I want her to do every day of the week I have her do something different Monday this is Tuesday this is Wednesday this is Thursday this is Friday so to coop so every day I have a copy of what I want her to do for that day for logic critical thinking and I will link below where I get these pages from I made up a video in our curriculum video which I show all of the books that I'm using for logic and critical thinking and that's what I got these copies from in here I also have anything that I want her to become fluent in or that I want her to practice all right now I don't have anything else in there when she's done she takes the number one and she's done it she puts it right here and complete it once number one then she moves on to pin number two so with math she brought the lesson with me and then she can do everything else on her own independently so it's also what patient needs to do in the lesson plan when she's done she removes the sticker and she puts in a number two number three is phonics language arts and vocabulary here I have language arts I have Christian light education for phonics I have explored the code and for vocabulary we have worldly wise so she knows what she needs to do she works pretty much completely independent on these programs when she's done she again puts here number three and it gives you an idea of Wow I have finished all of these subjects and I'm almost done for the day these are all of the core subjects then her family set the family subjects like science history safety and all the other subjects we do after lunchtime and she does that together with us in the family table so here we have handwriting here we have stainer Blosser cursive and we also have the student writing and sensor from iw this one she does with me I just direct her on how to do her paragraphs or what she needs to watch for that day in the DVDs when she's done it again removed or put it here and the last one here we have geography and this is elementary geography by Charlotte Mason and I read here one two week then what she needs to do every day is do this daily geography and it tells her what to do every day so she has like Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday and then the challenge and it's a really straightforward book that kids can do independently then we have draw the USA and then she has her geography notebook here that's offered she other things when she's done she removes it and she puts it here on number five then she know she has done all of her work for that day all of her core subjects then she can move on to the fun bin as I call it and all the years she can do something fun um I have different things that she can do in here like sticker books coloring books here have this my book about me by me myself um it says with some help of my friends dr. Seuss book so here she's gonna be putting a photo of her and then this is really a book about her she puts her name she's gonna be filling this out throughout the year I am a girl or a boy how much I weigh how tall am i how many feet I have what my hair looks like she's gonna try her hand there she's gonna put her foot there and dry she's gonna put her color of her eyes she has freckles if she has glasses where do I live Iran the world this is a really fun book what does my house look like and this is gonna be a nice little cute keepsake for her and I'll link everything below for you guys so if you wanted for your kiddos here I have an our coloring book and another coloring book here she loves coloring and this is something that she really loves so and it's nice really loves like sticker books and all types of things I put them in there so - when she's done with her work while I still work with her sisters you can continue to do something fun so there you've got it that is the work box system in a nutshell and like I said I have the core subjects here then our family subjects we do together and that after lunch so what I do is I try to have her work on these subjects as independent as possible and she can do most of it on her own she has any questions you can come and ask me of course and then the family subjects we do together this is a great system because it allows the child to work independently it motivates the child as they see what they have finished and they can move on to the fun bin as I have created here and it really gives them an incentive to finish I hope you guys have enjoyed the video I look forward to and sharing more give me a thumbs up if you want to see a an inside look of our morning binder for this year I have some really cool printables in there and really fun things that we're going to be using for our morning circle time if you haven't already done so please subscribe to my channel click on the notification ball so they never miss a video until the next time bye bye
