Homeschool Routine | Kindergarten + Tot School | 2 Year Old + 4 Year Old

welcome it's me Leila and mommy's getting me a book well you can't skip oh oh well what I'll say yeah cream click black there we go good job that's fine [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh two else's hello land of YouTube and welcome back to my channel if you are new welcome my name is Brittany these are my little girls Leila and some and today I am doing a little updated day in the life of a stay-at-home homeschooling mama with a kindergarten age child and a top schooler she's two and she's four so if you're interested to see what our day looks like then stay tuned it's a little bit different of a day like this isn't like a normal day for us because it's January 2nd and we're trying to get things back into a rhythm of order and have a routine and be able to be productive with our days so that's what today is going to be like so if you want to see what I do for school for the kids for our regular day to day then okay now we are back in the basement and we are going to do Samaras like a little bit of schooling that she does she's only 2 right now so we just do some learning activities that are more geared to her level so um these flashcards were gonna do right now we're not gonna do all of them we just do to her attention span and she's very short attention span but these are just animals so we're just recognizing animals and I like these because they're actual pictures of an animal instead of like a cartoon I like that these are actual pictures of the animals see and they're double-sided - some are what this that's right what's this a bun bun it's a bunny rabbit that's right giraffe that's right ona cow what's a cow say yeah what's that one sheep it's a black sheep yeah yeah oh wow what - I'll say now the kids are having a quick drawing break right what what are you gonna draw a picture of me okay yes my teeth that's my nose okay now we are going to do some more flash cards these are the spectrum flash cards I've talked about these a million times I love these flash cards I've used him with Layla since she was four months old and I've been using with Samara - look at yourself wave say hi say I doing school okay what letter is that X x is for x-ray yeah what letter is that D is for dog what letter is this okay next we're going to do some counting bear activities I've talked about counting bears and how much I love them on my channel before tomorrow's actually hugging the box because she loves them too and I got these little activities from tops cooling net where you have all of these different pages and activities that you can do with the counting bears and they are geared simple levels just matching putting a bear on each color and matching the color or um for older kids who are able to read their colors Laila likes to do this one and so these have activities that they can both play with the Bears and do things on their own levels there's a sizing so but we don't have different size bears we only have like the small bears so we don't really I need to get a few different sizes so we can use these but you could do sorting and then um these ones like finish the pattern with the different patterns and Counting so placing the certain numbers on the map and the ten frames so we're going to do some council activities Chris sorting her colors Layla's going to roll a dice and then put that many bears inside the oval this [ __ ] how many is that five okay put five beers inside the oval [Music] there we go good job that's five okay Samara you got them all right so far good job yellow and yellow red oh you want to put another yellow one you don't have any more yellow circle stuff you good eating it there lunch right now which means I'm going to put some music on for them and then try to tackle this disaster on the kitchen [Music] [Music] okay now that this area is a little more put together I feel like I can breathe and now it's time for summarize nap and then school burn enough I don't know about anybody else but I get like anxiety when my kitchen is super messy like my kitchen and dining area when it's just all like chaotic it makes me feel okay on it and when it's like put together and organized then I feel more organized so it doesn't happen all the time but on days like today that I can get it done and I'm feeling motivated and things are running smooth and it's a good day [Music] so now it is time for Layla to begin her lessons so smartest taking her nap we're going to start with just doing some geography on the poster we have you have United States of America and she's very excited about that aren't you yeah and she likes to bring a snack down and her water when we do school today's snack is what are you eating what are they pumpkin seeds you ready do do some okay you're a baby I thought you were four you turned into a baby this'll be fun I'll point and you tell me to stay okay ready sir over here Oregon that's right okay what about flip you lived there yeah blip you did live there this is something that Leila has been doing since she was like three I think and whatever shape you into the shapes - Wow okay which one do you wanna do first okay we're doing numbers shapes and then your name okay and she just does this to keep her handwriting out keep her remembering how to write and spell her name and trace all of her numbers remember to start them all at the top okay [Music] yeah begin okay do I tell everybody what this is wha what are these blends yes so yep their friends and digraphs cherry that's right so most of these are all blends and then there's just a few digraphs on the bottom but we go over these just to keep them fresh in her mind so that when she's spelling a new word she has the blend and she knows how she's going to say all the buns okay oh you got our friends ha ha ha ha say hi friends okay here start with just one [Music] okay so we are on lesson 63 of the good and the beautiful language arts and so this is what we're going to do for this lesson we are just going to have Leila read each column of words and she's going to point to each word with a special pointer then I'm going to read to her this poem and then we're going to read the mini book spin and skip which we've already read once and we're going to read it for the second and final time so that will be our lesson you want you need to show them lightning okay so I'm lightning who's that lightning she loves lightning mm-hmm all right so I want you to start in this column read class read each word and point to it with your pointer okay Korean Click Clack clop close Club yep class click point play cool classic for good classic cross flag laughs that's right that's right good job why flag close slap [Laughter] you flip and flop all over the place welcome it's me Layla and mommy's getting me a book to eat fine if you guys seen these books and now they'll be super fun see we try not to slip or fall it is so fun so the picture is like skipping in it's twisting in well round again can you try he will try very good so the book is kind of what it was like skips stop they're all playing games and stuff yeah they're all like playing games do you think other kids should read that book yeah ready to read the poem now so here is the lesson for method we are going to do today this is lesson 44 we're a little bit behind in math compared to language arts but that's just because um this takes Layla a little bit longer to grasp than language arts so we just need to go at a slower pace for this for her and um the lessons are also a lot longer and if it's an area that you are not as strong in then it just makes more sense to take more time until you fully grasp that so for right now what we're going to start doing is our daily dose so we just do um calendar check off the date we sing a little song and then write the date and then we do a place value chart and she so she can keep track of how many lessons we've done and then we count to 44 while clapping and then we do a Venn diagram so that she can see sort her oops no : I need to look at that one first thank you so she can sort her numbers based on if they have curved lines or straight lines or both right and you really like the next page let's see the next page is all about what's the weather like today ooh that'll be a fun one we like [Music] so first thing we're going to do is dump out all of these pattern pieces let's find all the ones that are squares [Music] how many sides does it have one Kim oh four sides are some sites longer than the others are they all the same size yes now what happens if i take another square and i place it directly under it does it make a new square yeah so there's two sides that are longer right could we make a bigger square [Music] we're gonna do some subtraction subtraction is when you take all a takeaway yes so we're have your five squares right there and your chalkboard ten frame we're going to start with these subtraction problems okay so the first one is [Music] [Laughter] [Music] the last thing we're going to do for school today for it Leila is her ten to one spelling champ this comes with the go to the beautiful program and it just helps you remember how to spell all of the numbers so we're gonna start with number one so we're just done with Layla's school for now and I'm starving it is after three and this is my first meal that I'm going to have because I'm an intermittent fasting and I'm hoping to jumpstart my weight loss doing that and I feel better when I don't eat a lot anyways like if I I've never been like a breakfast kind of a person I've always been like eating lunch and dinner mostly but my problem is snacking at night and so by intermittent fasting I stop eating right at dinner and then I don't eat again until lunchtime the next day but I ate kind of later than normal last night that's why I'm eating lunch so late today so I'm just having a salad let me show you this is my little salad that I have I just have some garbanzo beans some pumpkin seeds chicken and it's a spinach and filled green salad with just some Italian dressing so finally time to eat so I didn't even get halfway through my lunch and Layla said that Samara peed through her diaper all over her they're all clean you check them all cuz I told her to come in here and wait smart up cuz she was sleeping too long if she sleeps too long then she won't go to bed tonight so let's eat oh did you peepee or is it just sweat mmm wait Southie hey miss Samara was just super sweaty she was like drenched in sweat weren't you were you so hot when you were taking your nap yeah so um you changed your clothes I'm gonna check your temperature hopefully she doesn't have a fever uhhh only time they really sweat that much as if they're like have a fever but I will check she seems just super sleepy but I'm gonna have to strip that cuz you got it all sweaty no sweaty bed why are you grumpy no what later get you a book is she gonna read it to you hey be nice she's hangry are you angry yeah you woke up angry you're such a good sister lay off Whedon her that book Punk says that Oh goose it's a goose [Music] good job well it's about four o'clock now and I have a ton of laundry to fold no after all that laundry I had to do earlier today and Shabazz is on his way home from work so that means I should probably start thinking about what I'm gonna make for dinner and um yeah so the rest of our day the girls are just gonna play around and play games and all that and then if they get enough stickers be a little sticker chart that I do with them if they have enough stickers end of the day they get to watch a little something on TV so what are you gonna watch you got tell me no you tell me she's been obsessed with Mulan
