FIRST DAY OF HOMESCHOOL | DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOMESCHOOL MOM | THE GOOD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

that tamara come here look what you got look whoa i wish i had a telescope that's cool is it what else is in your new new bins let's see a snack snack you're welcome hi guys welcome to today's video i'm getting kind of a late start of talking in this video um but we've been up for a long time and it is officially today's first day of school so i'm doing a little day in the life for you guys to show you what our first day of school looks like for real and um yes everybody is already ready in the house except me i still have not taken a shower that's just how homeschool mom life goes sometimes but i'm trying to make the day super fun and no stress and just enjoying it so that is kind of like what the theme of today is so um if you guys want to see how our day flows for the first day of school then go ahead and keep watching my kids are fighting hold on anyways let's see how long this lasts real life you guys so today's video is sponsored by the good and the beautiful so i let's just get into today's video it's school time here's our little schedule that i put up if you saw my first day of school planning video then or the first week of school planning video then you saw how i put all this together so this is for today what i plan to get done now there we go is glary we'll see how much of all of this we get done we're going to try to touch on each one of these things language arts and math samara's pre-k is involved with both of these so in hand a little bit of handwriting but we're going to try to touch on all of these a little bit i'm not gonna force to get a whole lesson done so let's see what we can do so i'm about to start samara's first preschool lesson and while i do that i'm gonna have layla do her handwriting since this she can do pretty much on her own without really any guidance from me and she can do as many pages of this as she wants so there are 26 letters in the alphabet how many letters are in the alphabet absolutely that's the alphabet how many letters say 26 26 there's 26 elephants in the alphabet every letter can be written two ways for example let's look at letter a what letter is this [Music] can you point to the big a up here look at see these two a's can you point to the big a that's right that's also called uppercase see the big a is called uppercase can you point to the little a yeah that's called lowercase [Music] can you keep going six seven eight nine ten can you keep going what comes after 10 11. what comes after eleven twelve what comes after twelve thirteen and then fourteen sixteen seventeen nineteen ninety twenty okay it's time to practice scissors and um this is something we have to work on a lot now so let's see how it goes [Music] okay next is this handwriting page for samara we're just going to finish these curly queues she started them a few days ago we're just going to finish those up and then she'll be all done with her stuff that she has for today besides art so do you want am i going gonna like it probably you gotta try it these ones i can open i'll save some for later if i like it okay i like it yeah it's good huh so we're taking a little snack break right now layla just fell partially down the stairs gave me the whole heart attack but she's okay uh that's just part of the thing of stairs but they're having a snack right now and then we're going samara's already finished with her pre-k and her handwriting and everything that she has to do for today besides like when we read books and stuff like that but we do that all day long um and that only took like maybe 30 minutes with her oh that's okay i'll clean it up oh no it's okay we have wipes um but then i just have to do language arts and math with layla so after snack time we will resume layla works on the rest of her stuff samara is going to work on this mammals for little bundle because it's good busy work for her this um was also from the good and the beautiful i don't believe it's available anymore we've done it quite a few times and she really loves the pictures and it helps keep her engaged and kind of quiet on her own so she's gonna do that while layla and i work on some other stuff okay so here's leila's first lesson of language arts so we're going to practice the phonics cards first and then do this page this one we'll see how far we get without feeling burnt out and that's language arts and then we're going to move on to math after that [Music] i'm loving forever moment can we stay here after a while he suddenly stopped the sun had started to sink behind the hills and the light was growing dimmer he realized that he did not know where he was and he started to panic he was sorry he had disobeyed his parents rule to never go off on his own he started to run wildly through the trees then he remembered the instructions his mother gave him when they had arrived at the camp if you ever get lost stop right where you are don't panic use the whistle around your neck [Music] that's right that's what it starts with okay then what's the next sound i finished let me see stamp that's the right word okay so we have finished just about bulk of everything um but leila still has to do her math and then the kids are going to do like a little art project from the good and beautiful creative arts book it's just about lunch time though it's taking language arts and math i think are going to be what take the longest for layla she's kind of in that mode where samara is very distracting to her she's she's finished all of her stuff and she is um kind of playing and layla wants to play with her and so it's hard for her to focus but i think they're also very hungry now um so it's lunch time we're gonna have lunch we're gonna take a break for a while i really want to take a shower and then when my husband is done with his meetings i'm gonna see if he can hang out with samara so the distractions aren't as uh right here so we can rarely get down to math and um finish that up on a good note without her feeling like she's missing out on play time [Music] so i have the best husband who took his break from a meeting and hung out with the girls while i went and took a shower and washed my hair so i feel like a million dollars now um the girls are just kind of having their little break of playing and they're playing so good right now so i'm just gonna let them do that while i catch up on some work and some emails and some of my planning and stuff like that and check things off throughout the day as i go and then we're going to go back down to basement and finish up the rest of the stuff we have for today [Music] okay so we're going to do art next and we're going to do this thumbprint art from the gun the beautiful arts and crafts book and so we just need this paint we're going to do a few blobs here and then the kids are going to use their thumbs to make a pineapple [Music] whenever i'm off to find a sunset [Music] so this is the math lesson that is first for layla now since we've done so much today i think that we're just going to do the daily dose and then call it for today i don't want to overdo it and they've both been doing like really good considering this is our first day of school so i think we're just gonna do the daily dose and then we'll work on the rest tomorrow okay so look at this this is your own personal planner so you know how mommy has a planner so you have your own planner during this math level you'll have your own planner to work from so let's look through the planner for a little bit okay breakfast and brushing and brushing my teeth yeah all right now how many boxes did you color in one now which place does that go in the ones the ones place there we go so this is the ones place so there's the ones place tens place hundreds place hundreds tens ones that's right very good so what number do you write that's right this number what number is that it says one one so write the number that comes before one and the number that comes after one can you do that good and then what comes in god's law too very good now go ahead and check that off because you finished that that's correct now you get to continue this pattern how does this pattern go it goes red yellow red yellow here's your crayons okay so red so we need red and yellow forever [Music] fatty good job good job you're done with school for today you're all done what was your first day like um it was weird my first day when i was a baby was weird are you saying that no your first day as a first grader um it was still a little bit weird all right you guys that is it for today that's a wrap right layla we finished our first day of school and we had a pretty good day do you think it was a pretty good day did you have fun oh you're tired it's always interesting getting back into a routine but we've been doing our morning baskets for a little while so i think that kind of helped things go smoothly there's a little bit of pushback for some things which is always expected but i think that um it all went very well it was a great first day i had a lot of fun the kids had a lot of fun no we can't wait for tomorrow so i
