Hive Removal 06/09/24

hi this is Gary with G's be's we're out here today at a boarded up store and someone's decided to move in so we got a call they wanted them out we're going to try to remove this panel and get them out so we'll keep you posted as we go hello Mrs G's Beast here my role today is going to be operating the camera Gary does all the work uh this is my first removal experience with him thoughts so far I don't even know it's like seven something in the morning and it's already hot it's hot and then you have on all this suit um my other job is going to be keeping away the lookie loose we've already had several people Dr by you getting Bees No I just thought I'd stand out here in the heat the suit for nothing yes and then finally trying not to get stung we don't know what's on the other side of this plywood we're hoping that the bees are between the glass and the plywood and that they can be easily extracted Gary can find the queen and get them all to voluntarily move into a box if you notice uh yes I do have two gloves but this is my camera glove um I've film this off my iPhone and so I need a swiping finger um and then when the bees come out I just try to do that so they don't sting my unprotected finger but anyway uh we've been married 41 years and so we'll try you know because it's hot this is stressful um you know we'll try to limit any bad words and be on our best behavior today but um thanks for watching this is going to be an adventure for all of us so here we go I just lay it down lift okay lean it oh yeah me lean it show the camera this is honey for I don't know if they've got a queen or not they're going to have to look might be on that back piece if she's there I don't see any rud over here either maybe they're queenless because she knew living inside a convenience door window was a bad idea there see those are probably all DRS gosh I can't get these gloves on my hands are so sweaty GL ah really cheap gloves I don't want to get my bee gloves dirty if you're positive she's not here I'll go ahead and load this up G says he doesn't think that there's a queen here but yet so we're going to take the comb we're putting it in a ice chest to take it home I don't know he'll give a update on the plan I'm just loading stuff up e e e this is old comb but Gary can melt it down and use it for wax I'll take it he was hoping to find the queen and put in this little Queen clip and then put her in the box and have everybody follow but I don't think she I don't think she here's the thing about working with these is that everything gets sticky everything gets coated with honey but I'll show you the nice CL now are so slicky the nice thing about the suit that Gary got me is that I can get a drink of water without I could undo this without having to take my suit off so like if I wanted to say honey yummy I could unip and do that rush them in or hold the box I'll hold the Box we should have brought some water so that Gary could wash the windows down but we have some drinking water which in a pinch we'll just use that well it's really interesting they had a lot of nectar they were bringing in a lot of nectar and a lot of Honey put back and had some pollen had no eggs didn't have a queen so they were definitely a declining Hive not very many bees left but sure was a lot of nectar in there they would have never probably capped it off but hopefully we'll take what bees we could get we've got it all removed there was only a few drone cils in there there was no Queen we cleaned it up the best we can we're going to go ahead and put the plywood back up they'll continue going in and out of where they were uh I'm GNA let the few stragglers get out clean up what they can the robbers and then I'll come back and put some silicone around that area and hopefully they'll be gone for good thanks for watching
