verse 79 this time i'm taking on torbs so it's going to be the new versus the old single cab versus dual cap ifs comfort versus solid axle roughness ronnie's plastic fantastic shopping cart versus real steel that old clunker noise polluting bucket of 79 2.8 liter hair dryer versus 4.5 liter turbo diesel v8 who wins you decide who do you think's going to win this one i know we all really know stay tuned guys ladies and gentlemen it's again up to you guys to decide who wins these epic battles and challenges at the end of this video who is the ultimate winner that is what we need to get to the bottom of we got plenty of fun stuff coming up between me and talks enjoy our battleground starts on the west coast of wa and we're gonna head inland to the outback at some stage and the first test coming up is not even really a challenge it's a warm up we're at the first challenge which doesn't look like much of a challenge up close uh it is actually quite a challenge why why because you're going to start one car length before the ah one car length one car length oh the better vehicle win yeah someone did decide to come to the beach in the middle of a storm yeah you get the nice stormy colors you know yeah accepted bloody cold i don't know about cantona on the coast of the store a track mate [Music] i got the 18. sorry i can't hear from the really good seals in my doors piece solid as the rock that's a good comeback [Music] in darkness we find camp i'm gonna have to wait here a while because oh cam princess over here has got his roof top 10 now so he's got to level out his land cruiser and because he's got such a crappy turning circle he's now onto what's this one number 50 turn it's not 50 yet it's about 30. any campsite is my oyster because i've got a swag i can go anywhere i want he's stuck with his car forgotten what it's like to have a root cop you done yet it's still not level that'll be a already onto it yeah there's something you need to know about torben when you go camping with him he is always the last man up not every now and then not just here and there but every single time he is the last person up so i always know i've got plenty of time to make done and he's still strapping stuff down it's time for the first proper challenge out of many more to come this is the start line here's our obstacle course the idea is where that flag is down there you've got to run down there grab your keys run all the way back to your car start your car reverse through the obstacle course around and in between the first three max tracks the fourth max track with the flag where you got the keys from a full circle around it in reverse still and then there's a car park down the back we've got to reverse into that car park stop the vehicle get out of the vehicle run around the vehicle whichever way you like get back in and then sprint over the finish line fastest time wins 10 second penalty per max track that you hit on your way through in three two i'll say go on one on one three two one uh i should laugh but it's a funny run are you puffing a bit there mate we're 20 seconds in oh that is gonna be so tight [Laughter] [Music] oh he's yeah he's your ride the ride's pretty smooth but it's not very quiet i hope so around tomorrow [Music] we finally made it to the outback and along the tracks an opportunity came for another challenge i think ronnie's got some sort of challenge going on yeah what is that noise it sounds like a hairdryer or something what do you reckon it is yes you got an exhaust fan on your car or something oh you don't know about this yet do you fart that much in there i know this isn't a tub see all this red dusty yeah dustmaster 3000 holy crap there's no red dust in here it works what can't hear you over the turbines 220 cubic feet per minute holy crap what are you drawing on 10 amps 15 [Applause] but it works i guess that's why you got the extra fuel tank i'll just turn the car off i can't hear whoa fuel consumption what is your range oh my range currently would be around hundred oh fourteen hundred fourteen hundred case mine's thirteen hundred if i use the tank and my other tank that's in the back how many liters is that that's 200 liters wow yeah see i'm 270. 70 more liters for about the same for 100k [Laughter] oh well it is twice the engine capacity so and twice the weight so what what is your liters per hundred mile liters per hundred four average probably seventeen eleven liters per hundred before i put thirty fresh i can get thirteen per hundred with 33s 13.5 but that's if i don't travel at 110 to get somewhere first if i have to travel to get there then we're looking at 15 liters per hundred which then 200 liters gives me 1333 infinity kilometers so pretty much 1300 clicks yeah that's pretty good range now for the members of the jury here that is 70 liters more fuel he's carrying for an extra 100 k's keep that in mind objection objection what mine looks better [Music] let's talk traction aids what have you got attraction oh it's what do you mean you know lockers oh i got a rear locker what do you got that's a dumb question oh what you got locker i got two two factory lockers yeah mine's factory locker too mate the hollox comes with a rear locker one factory locker ah two's better than one but i have a secret weapon secret weapon what's that something you wouldn't understand driving a dinosaur a modern dinosaur because it's based on an old dinosaur it's called a track gives you traction without lockers mate i got two lockers and the a team just skill that's all you need all this fancy tech a-track is great but there's some circumstances where you need a rear locker and when you engage your rear locker you kind of lose the ability of the front because the a-trac doesn't work anymore so yeah so it's like you're in some situations you're lessening the capability of the vehicle because it doesn't have a front locker but i've got a front locker coming well it all comes down to skill wheel placement that's why i got two lockers yeah i like the skill he doesn't know it but he doesn't stand a chance with this one we've fallen lights on before would it look better at night not during the day you know dying light maybe well i didn't drag you all the way out here just for a photo what do you mean this is my challenge challenge i don't see it the challenge the challenge we have an outback windmill yeah and we have a hilux your highlights and then we have my land cruiser i see what you're doing yeah so we're gonna see whose car fits this scenery better i mean to me it's just quite obvious so now we've got your hilux there looks pretty good i think it looks but now i'll bring in the cruiser what do you reckon i reckon i'm pretty screwed yeah you got a good point there that's that's a good one i mean it's i don't know i won't let the audience decide i'm pretty sure i'm screwed all the way we've got some pretty smart audience i the wood i'm also carrying the chainsaw on the outside of my vehicle don't have any petrol fumes going on in the car because i have a tub and i'm sitting on top of my load lid let's go to camp
