Hico, a Quick Stop in a Gorgeous Little Town in Central Texas

[Music] [Music] so today i'm in the very photogenic town of hico texas in the northernmost extreme of the texas hill country so this town caught my eye recently as i passed through i'd never been here before and i was very impressed by all the lovely stone buildings in the downtown area another thing i like about it is the main highway does not pass through here so you can feel pretty comfortable walking around downtown a resident here in the 1940s known as brushy bill roberts claimed to be the outlaw billy the kid billy the kid was supposedly shot and killed at the age of 21 in new mexico by sheriff patrick garrett however it was later reported that many of the sheriff's family members said he never actually shot him many must have doubted brushy bell's claim as he spent the latter years of his life trying to prove that he was indeed billy the kid let's go learn more about brushy bill roberts and the legend billy the kid [Music] do [Music] here we have the historic midland hotel built in the 1890s just south of hico in the quiet community of ferry texas is this historic church once the united methodist church is now part of the fairy baptist church [Music] the north bosque river and just across this bridge here is an rv park so just south of the downtown area near the river and a little city park is this interesting business siloville climbing gym this might be a pretty unique place to go looks like you can go inside those old silos and perhaps climb all the way to the top looks like it'd be pretty fun i'm not really sure what this old building is but it may be some sort of old feed mill i must say hico is one of the most photogenic towns in central texas [Music] [Music] [Music] you
