Hey Steve: Blowing Through the Paycheck

next up Talia hey Steve so um I know a lot of women say this I have a shopping problem and I know most people do so this morning I walked out of my house and I counted literally 15 shopping bags okay fill with clothes makeup shoes these are brand new and oh I get paid three times a month and I blow through the checks like crazy like is gone like tomorrow we'll get my check it'll probably be gone in like 30 or 40 minutes so I was wondering if you had any advice for us young people on how to ball on a budget so you can't save money cuz you live at home with your mom no I live by myself you live by your shirt hey from my own apartment my own carpet my own gas my own everything okay what do you get that money from and so my mom she served this country for 20 years so I have her benefits which helps me pay for my apartment and stuff like that and I also work at a retail store so wait a minute so you take your mama's benefits that take care you household needs yes then yo check you spend it in 40 minutes yes are you crazy what do you buy just clothes so like recently I bought make up I've been buying clothes non-stop you mind me asking you like you get paid say how much so the retail store I get paid every two weeks and is about six to eight hundred dollars every two weeks really yes and then I get three thousand from the military and you go through all of that yes wow you're something wrong with you and then sometimes I'll put some in the savings account but I end up taking it back out so it's like like right now I think my credit card is a grant I haven't checked because I'm scared to check because I've been signing it so much in the last two days I'm scared to go back and I kind of look at it so I don't know with the situation but tomorrow I get paid so I have to put it to the credit card and then I have to buy my mom her Christmas present I was like it's hard to save money but your problem for saving money is because you just want to spend your expenses are covered so you're not you're not struggling to make expenses you got them you've got to save some of your money if you get an eight dollars every two weeks you got to at least put 250 up you got to put something for the rainy day because I don't know if you noticing that it's gonna rain I promise you it is it might not be raining today but it's coming you got to have some cushion 250 tomorrow and then the week after I'll save 250 I won't spin and I'll put the credit card away in the safe listen to me if you say 250 out of the two of the three checks you get that's 500 a month at the end of the year you'll have six thousand dollars in a savings account in one year you got everybody hey you made it to the end of this video I got a lot more that you're going to enjoy so just click to watch the next one and make sure you subscribe to always know what's happening
