Here’s Why I Can’t Be a Mechanic Anymore

rev up your engines waiting all that right to repair they uh you know had the bill in Massachusetts well guess what now the automakers are stalling a right to repair they ran a bunch of ads scaring people saying if you left the right to repair sexual predators will chase after people they said giving them that information would AIDS sexual predators I mean they are really digging down to the bottom of the barrel the thing is giving the right for information systems so that guys like me or if you want to work on your own car can get the information to correctly repair it well of course the automaker's stolen because they make a fortune repairing the car it's a dealership right now they came up with this BS excuse in Massachusetts and they ran a bunch of ads saying all the sexual predators they'll be able to hack in and find out where people are and follow them around oh yeah like they can't just see somebody driving a car and follow them right boys they got some cloaking device where they don't see you right I mean it's a load of baloney but there's looking for any possible excuse to try to keep these bills from passing so they can rip everybody off with car repairs it's unbelievable but I mean this is just a step too far say hello sexual predators well it's dangerous you can't give this information out I mean come on now if somebody's a sexual predator you see somebody get in the car like it was follow them around I mean we're not talking about rocket science here they don't need to be scanning your car and stealing information right now the original on Massachusetts is passed in 2013. they have watered that thing down so much and now they're just trying to throw it out the automakers they spent a ton of money before they did it in California they didn't even vote on it California they got it the squash in committee and now in Massachusetts they're just stalling stalling with now sexual predators giving information for people to fix cars they've really gone out into the land of Never Never Land they're in the Twilight Zone Now using that as an excuse not to give people information to repair cars I mean we've entered the age of lunacy there's no arguing that whatsoever it was bad enough when they said well people can't work on the cars you're gonna it has to be the dealer train people they'll destroy Congress they'll be dangerous people will be killed right now they added on well the sexual predators will find people hacking through this stuff I mean that is too much do they understand that if someone's really a hacker they're gonna hack through the BS security that these people have do they think they can really stop hackers of course they can't stop Hickory but then using this as an excuse not to give them repair information to people they are really scumbags these days it's unbelievable how far these people will go to rip you off Tom Savino says Scotty should buy a boring Toyota or a boring Lexus instead of a Mercedes-Benz SL 600 AMG hey it's your money you can waste your money if you want probably the worst investor you can make would be buying an S Series Mercedes their values Drop Like a Stone I had a customer bought one new for 120 Grand seven years later it went for 2500 they have no resale value their endless money pits as they age but they got that name you're you know you were to keep up with the Joneses go right ahead and spend your money it's your money you know the lexuses Are Better Built and they're luxury cars at least get Alexis you know I'll value your money and you want to keep up with the Joneses and you think Mercedes are still good go ahead and buy it it's your money you can do whatever you want with it the dude Z Force says Scotty I'm looking for practical Fun sports car what would you recommend well the Mazda Miata by fire they sold more sports car convertible roadsters than anybody in the history of mankind they can run forever they're cute you get a standard they're fun practical little sports cars anything else isn't practical they're gonna break they're going to fall apart and they're going to get horrible gas mileage the Miatas get good gas mileage you know or you could get a screaming little Civic Type R but they're not that practical They Ride like crap bangity bang and they cost a fortune too they're very very expensive I'd say the Mazda Miata is the only one that's fun and practical really Tom Savino says Scotty I had an SL500 for 26 years never had a problem well there's always an exception to the rule now perhaps you drive very slowly and maintain the heck out of your car and you said you had it for 26 years that means it was an older one back in the day they made them like old tank and not Sherman tanks like big old Tiger tanks those things could run forever and go through everything I worked on them as a kid in the 70s those things are indestructible if you took care of them right the new ones not so much but the old ones yeah and you owned it for 26 years so that tells you it's pretty old if you owned it for 26 years that means at a minimum it'd be 26 years old and it was probably even older than that Sharon Harris says my engine light is on what should I do that means that your engine is stored a code now it could be something serious it could be absolutely something stupid like your gas cam so go get it scanned auto parts store scan them free give you the code they'll give you a minor explanation right just to give you an idea if it's just on and the car runs okay go ahead get it checked and see it's no big word but if the check engine light is flashing while you drive you want to get it fixed sooner than later because that means it's running so bad that it will destroy the catalytic converter and they cost a fortune so that you'd want to do right away but it could be a very small thing there are thousands of reasons that light can come out there's all kinds of codes get it scanned give it code and we can tell you what it means shrimpy says Scotty do you think that Nissan cvts have improved over the years they're somewhat better I mean but that's saying they were originally absolute piles of crap so they're somewhat better but still I would not buy a Nissan with a CVT they have too many problems with them breaking down you compare Toyota and Honda CVT transmissions for every thousand Nissan cvts that break maybe one Toyota or Honda will have a problem they have such better engineers and production facilities at Toyota and Honda that I no longer in any Late Model Toyota Honda would question if I ever got in a car wreck and I had to buy another car I wouldn't have a problem with buying a Toyota Corolla or a Camry with a CVT they make them quite well now Toyota's got that launch gear so they accelerate good but they get better gas mileage this for Nissan Nashville wouldn't touch one I don't care well here's the two least reliable pickups according to Consumer Reports and number one on their list is the Ford F-150 hybrid not the regular truck but the hybrid they picked it as the least reliable pickup truck of 2022 based on problems people have been an electrical system issues issues with the power drop-off system where you can plug it into your house and stuff engine problems and other drivetrain transmission problems they had a good thing going with F-150 I know they're going to keep making everything to make electric versions of it you know it's a typical of what I find with many corporations is they have something and then they water it down by trying everything else and then they make a big mistake I see it all the time I'll give you a perfect example when I was living in Houston a friend of mine was a sales guy for slick 50 it was tough on oil right and it was a reasonably good product but then they started making transmission products oil drain pan recycling equipment stuff that has nothing to do with their original idea guess what the company doesn't exist anymore the name does because people have bought it but the company itself went out of business a long time ago people expand out of what they shouldn't and if you ask me this going into hybrids and stuff hey it's a mistake not with the people with F-150s want they want reliability that's what they want that's why people buy them now number two on the list of the least reliable pickup trucks is no surprise it's these Chevy Silverado 1500 and the GMC 1500 basically the same truck I've been telling people not to buy them for years because their quality has been going downhill rapidly since about the year 2000. they have engine problems transmission problems are not even have an exhaust system problems things that should have been ironed out ages ago but as I said be wary of GM products they just want to make more profits so they keep making things cheaper they make a lot of their stuff in Mexico a lot of the parts come from Mexico where everybody knows the quality control is pretty much garbage so even Consumer Reports kind of agrees with me on this one with their two picks finally they agree with me at something you know they didn't say oh the 1500 is the best pickup truck out there no they finally came out with something logical we had all that crap about carbon offsets and big companies buy carbon offsets so the pollution that they do is offset and then they say they're carbon neutral well scientists just did a study came to the conclusion that 90 of these rainforest carbon offsets are totally useless it's just a joke now a company called Vera that's the world's leading carbon offset company they set the Carbon standard more than 90 percent of the rainforest offset credits are likely to be fandom credits and do not represent genuine carbon reductions now Disney shell even Gucci uses these things to say oh we're carbon neutral and these guys are saying ninety percent of that is total BS well of course it is they're even doing scams of like okay the rain forest is there they give them money so they don't cut the trees down well that isn't offsetting anything it's there already sure it's not making it more negative but it certainly isn't doing anything positive and they're showing that most of the stuff and they say 90 percent of it's a total scam anything corporations are involved and you know it's going to be a scam they say one thing and well the paperwork says we can do this and now oh look we're carbon neutral well you know all that stuff would be a load of crap when the government gets involved in it and corporations are trying to hide things so look look we're getting offsets in the rainforest you know it's not like they're planting trees and creating things right and then these guys are saying even at what they have already 90 percent of it is total baloney so as per usual made up government things like carbon offsets are proving to be just a boondoggle like most things that corporations are involved in when they're tied in with the government all you got to do is follow the money they vote for the stuff in Congress oh yeah that's a great idea they have no idea what they're doing and the corporations say oh yes look
