[Music] yes high score i'm thirsty okay nothing's happening i have an idea there we go much better it's great to have a helping hand when you're having trouble that's the role that jesus plays in our life and in today's gospel we've heard of times when jesus preached but in today's gospel we'll get to hear the first time he ever did as an adult now just like in mass let's all stand up together and listen the lord be with you and with your spirit a reading from the holy gospel according to luke glory to you o lord jesus came to nazareth where he was raised and he went into the temple [Music] he stood up and read from the book of the prophet isaiah he began the spirit of the lord is upon me [Music] he has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor to bring sight to the blind to free those who are sad [Music] jesus closed the book and sat down and everyone there stared at him he said today this scripture has been fulfilled [Music] the gospel of the lord prays to you lord jesus christ now the story goes on after that but today we'll focus on what we've just heard jesus often got many people's attention and since this was his first preaching everybody was astounded and kept staring at him jesus said some great news like bring good news to the poor and bring sight to the blind at the end he said today this scripture has been fulfilled that's a fancy way of saying he is the one who will do all of this [Music] and it's true too he did bring sight to the blind help many in trouble and spread god's love to people who often felt useless jesus is a very powerful being that's because he's the son of god now others help us too when we're in need but when we pray to jesus he is our helping hand don't forget to pray and help others today i'm stanley and i'll see you later bye [Music] you
