get over here flawless victory hey guys welcome back to another video on hell let loose this video is intended as a next step to my beginner's guide to everything and will focus on the mechanics behind capturing sectors garrison and outpost placement and their tactical implications before we get started if you haven't seen my previous video please check it out especially if you're a new player and if you enjoy this video check out the other videos on the channel and subscribe if you like them this is a very small channel focused or rather not focused on any specific games i try to cover interesting and cool different games from different genres and on different platforms okay now that that's out of the way let's talk about capturing sectors most players seem to think that you need to be inside of these circles called strong points in order to capture a point but that's not the case for the warfare mode in this mode capturing sectors starts as soon as you get inside the four squares that surround the strong point right now you have to take a look at the map borders to figure out what those sectors are for each of the points which is something that i hope changes in the future either as a map indication or something because it's just not as obvious as it should be especially for new players sectors are always two by two squares in size and start from the edge of the map onwards now there is a difference between capping inside or outside of the strong point and it has to do with how soldiers are accounted for one soldier inside a strong point is worth roughly three times as much as a soldier inside the sector the game tallies the presence of each soldier in the entire sector including the strong point and determines who is capturing according to which team has the stronger presence for example if you have two allied soldiers in a strong point but 10 german soldiers in the sector then that means the germans will be capturing that sector capturing cannot be sped up or slowed down it can only be interrupted by outnumbering the other team that means that capturing a sector always takes the same amount of time it doesn't matter if you have 20 or 50 guys taking a sector it will always take around three minutes to capture now i'm gonna pause here for a second and explain why i'm not being precise with the time or with the difference between being inside or outside of a strong point well since the game is currently in development these values will probably change so i don't know if by the time you're watching this it takes two minutes to capture one five or whatever so i don't want to be very specific about something that is probably going to change but the core concept here is that you can capture a sector without having anyone inside of the strong point okay once your team captures a sector any enemy garrisons or outposts inside of your territory will be destroyed except for outposts placed by recon units so if you're playing in a recon squad try to keep your outposts somewhere deep inside enemy territory also some sectors can't be retaken once they are captured so if you see a lock next to a sector then don't even bother defending or attacking it now let's talk about garrison placement when you first start playing you might think that placing garrisons as close as possible to a strong point is the best course of action since you know that should make capturing the point much easier if you have the entire team already spawning at the strong point and while that is technically true the chances of that garrison getting destroyed are much higher than if it's placed a bit further back in territory that's firmly under your control it also means that any backup garrisons that you might have will have to be at least 150 meters away from the strong point maybe even outside the sector that you're trying to capture a much better approach is to place your garrisons and outposts around the strong point while having a garrison ready to fall back outside of the sector this is much better for a variety of different reasons first it keeps the distance you have to cover to a minimum while still allowing every soldier to spawn inside the sector meaning that they count towards the capture as soon as they spawn in second if a garrison is destroyed squads should still have the ability to spawn at their outpost and build another one right away since they're not all bunched up they shouldn't get all destroyed at the same time making your presence much harder to eliminate squad leaders can also move their outposts if necessary by picking them up with the f key so you can have your squad spawn at the outpost build the garrison and pick up your own outpost to put it somewhere else and keep the line going and lastly it also allows you to get some insight into enemy positions since you get an alert when an enemy is near a garrison or an outpost a line of spawns can act as a detection radar against your enemy allowing you to pinpoint their location let's compare the two cases if you have a spawn point in a stronghold and you get a warning that an enemy is close they can be anywhere around that position they could be north south west who knows you have no way of knowing so you don't get any valuable information out of it if you have your garrisons or spawn points in a line or semi-circle around a strong point and the one at the edge gets a warning you have a much better idea of where the enemy is they are probably not going to be inside the line since that would have triggered a warning on the other outposts as well you should also keep in mind that garrisons can be destroyed by enemy artillery so placing them inside a strong point that might get shelled or carpet bombed or even you know grenaded increases the chances of it getting destroyed tanks can also destroy garrisons by firing at them but they won't destroy them by driving next to them so if you're in a tank and you need to destroy an outpost someone needs to get out and physically get near them okay now that i've gone over how all of this works let's talk about the tactical implications of all of this when you're trying to capture a sector your focus shouldn't be on taking position inside the strong point and trying to clear it out from within at most one or two squads should focus on that while the rest of the team focuses on what's truly important which is taking out the enemy spawn points no matter how many enemies you take down they will just keep coming unless you take down their ability to spawn altogether this means that flanking the enemy position to try to get around them and find where their garrisons and opposed are is much more effective at reducing enemy presence in a sector than actually killing them in terms of gameplay design whether or not this is a good thing is debatable but taking out an enemy's ability to spawn in or near the sector that you're trying to take should be your team's priority my last piece of advice is about defending sectors that you've already taken it's fairly easy right now for a squad to get around your team and start capping a point that's further back if that happens even if you start capping their sector a few seconds later you've pretty much lost the battle unless you fall back remember that capturing a point takes the same amount of time whether it's one soldier or 50 inside the sector so unless you can interrupt their capture of the previous sector you will lose it before you capture the other one so just hit escape and redeploy as soon as you can to try and take it back i personally think that these mechanics need to change to make the game more engaging as right now exploiting spawn points and redeploying makes it very easy to teleport your whole team to wherever you need the most and this affects the intended realism of the game in a negative way now you will most likely see the exact opposite of every recommendation that i made in this video take place during a match you will see garrisons placed inside strong points and you will see squads failing to fall back on a sector that's being captured try to communicate as much as you can both with your commander and other squad officers and hope for the best i think some efforts still need to be made to get the player base to understand these mechanics and play accordingly okay that will be all for now i hope you enjoyed watching and if you did maybe share the video with other players and subscribe if you like the other videos on the channel i will be live streaming this game soon so stay tuned for that and if you're a subscriber make sure to hit that bell icon to get notified of any of the live streams once again thanks for watching and i will catch you in the next one [Music] you
