I think we can all agree that the commander is the most important role in Hell let lose and yet I feel like there is not a single video on YouTube that properly covers how to play Commander yes there are some videos like those from mono where he covers every ability in detail and don't get me wrong he does it very good but he mainly focuses on what the abilities do and not how to use them and when to use them so in this series I'm going to try to change that I will not be covering the most basics of the game or every single ability instead I will focus on the most essential abilities and provide step-by-step instructions to help you become a successful Commander from the start of a game how you have to play mainly depends on the game mode so I'm going to make a video for every game mode and I'm going to split the offensive mode into attacking and defend defending side because depending what side you are on you have to play very different I'm going to start this series with the attacking side in offensive mode because I think this is by far the easiest game mode to play commander in all right but without further Ado let's jump in by covering the most important ability and basically the only one that you need to use and this is the supply drop the supply drop allows you to drop a parachute with 100 supplies into any position on the entire map even into locked areas which is one of the most important aspects of this drop it costs only 50 Munitions and has a cooldown of less than 2 minutes because of its short cooldown and low cost it is crucial to spam the supply drop whenever it is available having more supplies on the ground grants you more flexibility in Garrison placement and a fast flexible Garrison placement is key to winning a game you also have to keep in mind that the parachute of a supply drop can be seen from Miles Away making it a target for enemies to intercept but if you drop your supplies every two minutes into different areas the sheer amount of drops will overwhelm the enemy and some drops will make it through and safely land on the ground this is why you shouldn't just drop supplies where you need them but also in areas where you could potentially need them or or even in areas where you don't need supplies just to force the enemy to go there and take him down a nice side effect of spamming the supply drop is that it often reveals the location of the next objective in offensive mode enemy players will prioritize to take down supplies near their next defensive point which shows you its location but only having supplies on the ground of course doesn't win you a game the most important thing is to set up garrisons on those supply drops and that brings up the question where do I want my garrisons and here is where most commanders get it wrong they wait for officers to give them markers on the map to drop supplies in a safe location but actually you as Commander should be the one who decides where you want a Garrison you should drop supplies onto a location and then ask an officer to go there or if there is no officer responding you go there yourself and set it up and believe it or not the location where you want garrisons are almost always the same for every map to show you where you want to set them up we're going to have to cover a few basics of the garrisons and then I'm going to show you exact locations for every map where you want garrisons when thinking about Garrison placement there are two important things to keep in mind the first one is the 100 m rule this means that red zone garrisons so garrisons in the enemy territory have a 100 m radius around them to make them locked if an enemy player comes into 100 m around Miss Garrison it's going to get locked for Blue Zone garrisons this radius is only 15 M meaning Blue Zone garrisons are way more likely to be available to spawn on this also means that for offensive mode it is almost pointless to place a Garrison close to the enemy strong point because the likelihood that enemies are present within the strong point is very high so this Garrison will probably stay locked for the entire round instead you should consider placing the garrisons a bit further away from the strong point to make them more likely to be available placing garrisons like this one is a huge mistake because it is barely in the enemy territory so it has for 100 m radius but putting it just 10 m further to the east would have made this a Blue Zone Garrison with only a 15 M radius the second thing that you have to keep in mind is where you are even allowed to place garrisons this is very simple you can put them everywhere within the Blue Zone and two squares deep into enemy territory but keep in mind you can drop supplies deeper than two squares so you can drop supplies into an inactive sector where you can't place garrisons right now and then have them available later when this sector gets unlocked okay now that we've got this out of the way there is one more thing I'm going to have to explain before I can show you concrete examples of where you want to put down garrisons the problem when dropping supplies in advance is that you don't see the surroundings of the location where you drop it and of course you don't want to drop a Garrison into an open field but the good thing is your in-game map actually shows you whether or not there is cover available nearby you just have to be able to read it properly the easiest indicator that you have are these little darken squares these squares indicate buildings and buildings always mean cover the second best indicators are these darkened mashed lines those lines indicate trenches that usually have bar wire as cover nearby and even if there is no Bob wire close you can still put the Garrison into the open right next to the trench so that if you Deploy on the Garrison you can quickly hop into safety the next next indicator and this is the one that you're going to have to use the most are these blue lines those lines usually indicate fences or Hedges this means there is going to be cover from at least one side which is more than enough to put down an offensive or even a defensive Garrison these are the most important indicators on the map and if you are able to read them properly I will guarantee you you will always find a good spot for a Garrison okay now we have everything that we need to go into an example I'm going to pick Omaha Beach and I'm going to walk you through the process of attacking Omaha Beach in every sector of the offensive mode your goal as Commander is to encircle the enemy strong point with garrisons this means you want at least four garrisons around it two in the Blue Zone and two in the Red Zone the two Blue Zone garrisons are going to be placed top right right at bottom right of the strong point roughly 200 M apart and then as close to the enemy territory as possible but not inside it to avoid getting the 100 m radius for the Red Zone garrisons on the other hand you want them to be placed on the top left and bottom left of the enemy strong point you want them as close to the locked territory as possible and roughly 150 to 200 M away from the enemy's strong point to make sure these garrisons are available to be spawned on for rough orientation you can look on the map and you will see that every strong point is surrounded by four squares of enemy territory and those Red Zone garrisons should be placed in the top left corner of the upper quadrant and the bottom left corner of the lower quadrant but now I'm going to start talking you through the process of capturing and tell you what you have to do to make sure you can actually get these garrisons going the first objective is usually easy to capture and you don't need additional garrisons except for the headquarter spoons if your team struggles to capture this objective you should grab a supply truck and spawn it as far away from the current objective as possible and drive it two grid squares deep into the enemy territory and you want to put the Garrison around these areas here as close to the border to the locked area as possible because these garrisons will later be repurposed as Blue Zone attack garrisons while you are trying to capture the first objective you already want to start pre- dropping supplies for the next sector this means you don't drop them into the active sector but instead you want to drop them full grid squares deep in so into areas where you can't can't even set up a Garrison yet because then the enemy is less likely to try to intercept them you should always drop the first supply drop into the top left corner of the fifth grid Square somewhere in this area you have to zoom into the map search for cover within this area and drop it over there here for example I would drop my supplies in this area once you get your supplies back the next job is going to go into the bottom left corner of the sixth grid Square again zoom into the map search for cover and drop your supplies in this area only if your team still hasn't managed to capture the first objective and you were unable to set up garrisons with the supply truck it is worth dropping supplies within the active sector if you have an officer requesting them or if you have a location in mind that you can safely reach yourself once your team managed to capture the first objective you want to start getting up Blue Zone garrisons like I've said these Garrison should be placed top right and bottom right of the enemy strong point roughly 200 M apart as close to the enemy territory as possible ideally you don't have to use your supply drop to get up those garrisons ask Squad leaders if they have support players that can set up those garrisons or try to head back with the supply truck if you are driving the supply truck you have to keep in mind you cannot drop supplies within the first two grid squares of the map so what you have to do is you drive the truck just barely into the enemy territory drop the supplies in the Red Zone run back towards the Blue Zone and set up the Garrison in the Blue Zone while you are trying to get those garrisons up you already want to start pre- dropping the supplies for the next sector this means again count four grid squares deep into the enimy territory and start dropping supplies in the top left corner of the fifth quadrant like in this area here and the bottom left corner of the sixth quadrant like this area here if you are struggling to set up the Blue Zone attack garison within the first 5 to 10 minutes you should stop pre- dropping your supplies and instead use the supply drop in the Blue Zone and set up those blue Zone garrisons either yourself or ask SWAT leaders to do so once the Blue Zone garrisons are up you want to get up the red zone garrisons for the second sector usually you don't have supplies pre- dropped but you also don't want to use the supply drop in this area because the enemies will likely take it down so you want to use the supply truck and set up those attack garrisons with the supply truck yourself hop into a truck and try to set up a Garrison top left and bottom left of the grid squares from the enemy strong point as close to the lock territory as possible as described earlier here for example I would want to place them in this area and this area while you are doing this always keep an eye open when your supply drop is available again once you get the supplies back you want to put the next drop again four grid squares deep but this time in the top left corner of the third quadrant so around this area the next drop then goes to the bottom left corner of the eighth quadrant now you will have four supplies ready on the ground waiting to become garrisons if the next sector becomes available and no matter where the next strong point is going to be you will be able to set up at least two garrisons close to the strong point Behind Enemy Lines of course if you are struggling to set up the red zone garrisons for the current sector with the supply truck it is always worth dropping some supplies with the airdrop and then ask a squad leader to go there or go there yourself but first try to do it with a supply truck if some of your pre- dropped supplies get dismantled just R drop them on the same location but don't drop them right away try to spread the drops out a bit let the enemy run all the way to the North and then you drop your next supplies all the way in the South this way you can keep them busy and usually one of those drops are going to Land once you capture the second objective the hardest part of the whole game is over now you just start repeating the process of the last objective meaning you start by setting up at least two good Blue Zone attack garrisons North south of the current strong point for this example this would be here and here if you are lucky one or two of the previous Red Zone attack garrisons are close to the current strong point and can be repurposed as the new Blue Zone garrisons so you don't even have to set those up the good thing is that through the pre- dropped supplies you already have supplies for the Red Zone on the ground so either ask your squad leaders to go there and set them up or if they don't do it grab a supply truck drive over there set up the garrisons on the supply drops and in the meantime again pre-drop your supplies for the next objective count four grid squares deep in start by dropping supplies top left corner of the fifth and bottom left corner of the sixth quadrant and then if you have those down move up to the north drop one top left corner of the third and bottom left corner cor of the eighth quadrant this way the third objective should be no problem to capture and you can move on to the fourth objective this sector is the same as the last ones start by getting up the Blue Zone garrisons usually you will have supplies pre- dropped from the supply drops and even if not try going there with the supply truck most often you will have Squad leaders helping you to set up the Blue Zone and the Red Zone attack garrisons because you already already have supplies on the ground they see them they walk over there and they set them up without even the need of asking them and even if they don't do it spawn a Jeep drive over there with the Jeep and set him up this way the Jeep is so freaking fast you can get them up in no time in the meantime you of course want to pre-drop your supplies again in the top left of the fifth and the bottom left of the sixth quadrant and then make your way up to the northern Third and Southern eighth quadrant this way the current sector should be no problem at all and then you can move on to the last sector where you just start repeating the process getting up the Blue Zone garrisons getting up the red zones now you don't even have to pre-drop supplies anymore so you can even use them in the current sector and then you should win this game with no problems this is it in terms of the general guidelines that I can give you let me quickly sum this up your main task when trying to win the effect defensive games is to encircle the enemy strong point with garrisons top right bottom right top left bottom left you achieve this by pre- drro your supplies or going there with a supply truck you're going to be spending 99% of your time in the supply truck trying to get up garrisons you got to get killed a lot but that's just the nature of this game just respawn a supply truck and try again you will not actively participate in capturing any objectives that is not your task that's the squad's tasks when trying to get those garrisons up always prioritize the Blue Zone garrisons and don't ever forget if you want to get laid you have to be kind so be nice and work with your team but always keep in mind these are just some general guidelines that I can give you it always comes down to the current match that you are playing and most specifically the enemies that you are up against before you start a round quickly look into the scoreboard and check the ranks of the enemy players that you are fighting and also the ranks of the players that you have on your team if you are inexperienced and you see that you have a very strong enemy with not that many good players on your team you should consider waiting for another round playing a good enemy always means that you have to improvise a lot because they know the good Garrison placements and they do everything they can to prevent you from setting those up now before I finish this video I quickly want to give you a few more tips regarding some of the other abilities the first one is regarding the AirHead and how I tend to use them I usually avoid dropping them far away from the strong point because the main advantage of an airhead is that it can be very close to enemies and still be available in enemy territory this is why I prefer dropping an airhead rather close to the strong point and secure it either with friendlies or with a bombing run for example if you have a large concentration of friendly infantry pushing towards the strong point but you see they are struggling they are not quite breaking through I just dropped the Airhead right on their heads because you can be sure they going to secure it and they have a spawn point even closer to the strong point from which they can make the final push if I don't have such a concentration of infantry yet and I still want to use the airhead I drop it close to the enemy strong point I would say roughly 50 m away and then time it correctly with the bombing run to make sure when the Airhead lands the bombing run explodes over it and any infantry that tried to intercept the Airhead is going to get killed by the bombing run to get this timing right you have to look on the circle that starts filling up once you drop the AirHead and if the circle reached the first corner of the triangle from the Airhead so that's roughly one3 of the circle then you want to drop a bombing run and then it's going to time perfectly and kill everyone who tries to intercept the second tip is regarding nodes often commanders struggle to get their Engineers motivated to set up nodes but this is actually not the case most often it is not the engineers that are not motivated it is their officers who are not talking and so the engineers can't get their supply trucks to set up those nodes so what you want to do you want to have one Supply truck waiting in one of the headquarters at all times you will see Engineers will start hopping into that Supply truck and set up nodes for you this problem can be solved even easier if your team doesn't capture the first jective right away because then you can actually drop supplies within the first two grid squares so you can drop supplies in your headquarters so just hop into a supply truck and drop three boxes of supplies near the headquarters just be sure to spread them 50 m apart and don't drop them where your tanks spawn because otherwise the tank spawns are going to be blocked and you won't be able to spawn a vehicle in and the last tip is regarding the half tracks you can use half tracks and they are useful but you should first get those four attack garrisons going to Blue Zone and two Red Zone garrisons and then you can take a half track and drive it closer to to the enemy strong point because the half track even if placed in enemy territory doesn't have the 100 m radius on it which makes it a powerful tool to get a spawn point close to the enemy strong point okay but this is it finally I know I've told you a lot but there is still a lot more to cover because this is just such a complex game I'm considering making a few more videos where I cover some more General tips like those with the Airhead but do me one favor boys I'm not making this videos to earn any money that's why I'm not putting any advertisement in so if you enjoyed it do me a favor like that smash button I'm going to sign off now and I hope I can see you in the next video or in game playing together with me
