if you've been alive for a while and you've been on the internet you've probably heard of a little guy named Morgan Spurlock he's known primarily for his movie Super siiz me which came out in 2004 you get the MC gurgles in there you get the mcbrick and you get the MC stomach ache right now I got I got some MC gas that's rocking this big ass movie Super siiz me blew up in popularity on the brand new website called youtube.com where it was viewable with ads of course since 1980 the total number of overweight and obese Americans has doubled with twice as many overweight children and three times as many overweight adolescents the fattest state in America Mississippi where one in four people are obese one of the things I hate about internet browsers is how bullying they are I love personalizing stuff and ruining it I love ruining stuff I like taking something that's great and ruining it with my own sense of style and love today's video is sponsored by Opera GX the ultimate browser that you can ruin for yourself seriously though if you use Chrome Safari especially Safari or Edge or any you're missing out bro Opera is awesome it's the ultimate browser for gamers and it's got cool little widgets that are built in and it's fun and it's cool and yeah it's cool there's mods and what the why would you it's like Rim world but for browsers you got Custom Sounds when you close and open tabs keyboard sounds uh it why would just download it click the link in the description and download Opera there's it's a no-brainer it's a no-brainer it's one of those no-brainers so yeah download oper GX using the link in the description and go to the GX store and explore the endless possibilities for customization some created by Opera GX themselves some created by Nero Wells existing in the limal space between reality and the internet women of space the sidebar thing is my personal favorite I have so many apps in mine I've got Discord Tik Tok Facebook I don't have Tik Tok or Facebook you can get those though I have Spotify and chat GPT it's pretty pretty sweet and if you use another browser and you have a bunch of bookmarks and things along those lines like I do you can just use the quick import tool and it it just copies everything over and it's awesome it's pretty cool guys I actually like Opera GX I'm grateful to have them as a sponsor on my channel uh check out the pin comment or go in the description and download the oper GX thank you to oper GX for sponsoring this video and thank you to you guys most importantly Morgan Spurlock kind of became like the first big time mukbanger and if you think about it in a sense and recently it seems that he was cancelled and and then also right after that he unfortunately died and it was it's not good it's a sad situation and I'd like to cover it because it's complicated and it's interesting to be honest because he was cancelled a week before he died so why was Mr Spurlock canceled was it for no reason like what happens sometimes no it was found that some of the information that was in his documentaries was considered misleading this is bad right because when you're a documentary guy and you do some documentary stuff you're supposed to be honest and truthful so people can learn and you can you can be use it as an example and how to change your behavior potentially better I'm not sure I watched that jerro Dreams of Sushi movie didn't do [ __ ] but I liked it you know and like I mentioned shortly after his cancellation he died I think nowadays anyways the super seis me documentary if it were to be made would probably be poorly received because it's sort of a fat shaming thing whether or not it's true or factual or or untrue or INF factual is that the opposite of factual what's like what is it what's what's the word for when something's not true I I forgot I was at this meal and it came up that one of the people was a smoker and somebody else at the table started hectoring them about what's the matter with you don't you know how bad it is for you it'll do this that and the other thing to you and you really should stop in the smoker rather than saying [ __ ] you which you know mind your own business which I think is the appropriate response was a bash and and and defensive and like oh I tried to quit and yeah I'm going to try again and you're right you're right and so on at that same table there was a quite large woman and I was wondering what if this guy instead of confronting the smoker had said to the large woman what's the matter with you you fat pig don't you know how dangerous it is to be so overweight stop eating for God's sake and don't you dare get dessert and what's the matter right uh same logic I'd be hard pressed to find a distinction between those two examples okay so one is now socially acceptable to Hector smokers but the other one isn't quite yet so the question is at what point will it become acceptable to publicly Hector fat people uh in the way that that that smokers are publicly hectored the release of suis me was a point in time in which they raised the question can you publicly Heckle someone for being fat and eating unhealthy like what has become sort of common to do with smokers and people who Vape you just Mass shame them until they quit you know is that okay spoiler it's not and it never was really to be honest and it's even less okay now than it was when super seis me came out so a little bit more about Mr Spurlock he already had a successful career before he produced super seis Mei he began his career in 1999 by winning an award at the international Fringe Festival for his play the Phoenix dude was into some weird [ __ ] who is into plays do people actually like plays if you like plays press like on this button I mean on this video press like on this button right here am I looking at is it down there and I don't give a [ __ ] if actually you press like I would actually prefer if you left this video and did something outside you know something like that I'm not sure or if you went to sour. and bought our weekly candy that we released 52 weeks 52 flavors we hope we're going to try our best so far it's been 2 weeks two flavors pretty solid 300 p.m. Central Standard every Friday new flavor sour at G sign up to the email list M delicious candy Mr Spurlock on top of winning some awards for his play the Phoenix won more Awards the following year at the Route 66 American playwriting competition for the same for the same play I guess I don't know a lot about plays or what that requires or what those are you can probably tell by watching Mr Spurlock's dock that he took some inspiration from some other very famous documentaries around the time however he hailed Brothers Keeper by Joe Berlinger and Bruce sinowski to be the greatest documentary ever produced I don't know why we put that in the video but it's kind of an interesting fact you should watch it Brothers Keeper First Press like button it is even fer the second time I have a little interesting fact that I didn't know until researching this is he was inspired to make the film super siiz me because of a lawsuit that he saw on TV where someone was claiming that McDonald's was directly responsible for the Obesity pandemic and specifically the effects of fast food on two overweight girls in 2002 a few Americans got fed up with being overweight and did what we do best they the bastards taking aim at the fast food companies and blaming them for their obesity and illnesses a lawsuit was filed in New York on behalf of two teenage girls one who is 14 years old 4' 10 and 170 lb the other 19 years old 5'6 and 270 lb the unthinkable had suddenly become reality people were suing the golden arches for selling them food that most of us know isn't good for you to begin with kind of a ridiculous lawsuit just going to put that out there guys just going to put that out there is it McDonald's fault I don't know is it equally McDonald's fault as it is to the two overweight girls I don't know is it let me know down below comment down below [ __ ] where does corporate responsibility end and personal responsibility begin I mean do you blame liquor stores for alcoholics yeah no I mean well liquor stores don't spend $ 1.2 billion a year advertising their products well well certain alcohol certainly they SP do right exactly but I think that you know for us we need to accept responsibility for what we eat parents need to be better role models for their kids you know if you're a parent you eat out 3 four 5 days a week and you don't exercise you're going to raise kids that eat out 3 four 5 days a week and don't exercise sort of a summary for the documentary is that Spurlock committed to eating only McDonald's for breakfast lunch and dinner 30 days see what would happen to his body see what effects it would have as a relatively healthy man not good not good it reminds me of the time that I committed to the 30-day too Chico diet where all I drank was toppo Chico for $3 days if I would have gone 10 more I'd have been sort of like Jesus after the release of the film they would be nominated for numerous Awards and win the very first writer Guild of America Award for best documentary screenplay it's pretty impressive they just hit the ground running on YouTube viewable free with ads oh my God food McDonald's I love McDonald's I want to go eat some McDonald's after this video I think well we'll see actually this could turn people off of McDonald's I could be sued for losing them business potentially as any great artist does Morgan also decided to write an accompanying book to the film in 2005 titled don't eat this book fast food in the superzing of America genius man you got to you got to hit him with the whole the whole shebang you got to get him with the book and the documentary SL yoube video pretty chill TBH the same year that he would put out the film he would create Warrior poet Productions and publish all of his preceding work through his own company he also worked for his brother through their production company on numerous projects the guy was quite a uh quite a busy little bee to be after this Morgan would go on to work with FX and produce a show called 30 days in which a person or a group of people or even Mr Spurlock himself would live in certain situations for 30 days some people want to make coal a thing of the past but with so much cheap coal right here in the good old USFA others say why stop and this got me thinking we hear a lot about coal these days but what about the people who mine it what's life like for the guys I grew up around who stayed in West Virginia and who go underground every day to keep our world powered up there's one way to find out as I go back home to West Virginia to work as a coal miner for the next 30 days living with a Muslim tonight on 30 days a practicing Christian from West Virginia goes to live in the heart of Muslim America can I pass for an Arab will The Clash of cultures confirm his belief that Islam is a violent religion you guys think it's possible that there's any like Sleeper Cell activity around here genius it's like Mr Beast if Mr Beast had personality if he had Mojo just kidding he's got Mo plenty of Mojo I'm just teasing I'm just I'm just giving him a light ribbing he deserves it let's be real that guy is doing well all right I deserve it I'm a idiot the show would won for fre Seasons from 2005 to 2008 and his next work would be with MTV on a show called I bet you will the premise of the show which was originally a 5minute webcast was to bet people to do crazy things I bet you will brand toilet paper and I bet you brand molasses well guess what we are going to put the Molasses on you and we are going to wrap you up like a mummy for $20 up 25 $50 you myth $75 75 shake the hand she's going to do $75 I bet you will get it it's in the name this is official I bet you will Brand L on our lovely sleeping slide you're going to slide all the way down to 90 lb of uncooked bacon the deal is most creative slide wins okay the winner is going to take home $50 everybody else wins nothing just a bunch of lard on your body Burger Andy collabed on this with the worm burrito eating worm that's a that's a that's a DE deep deep twitch Lord joke there they also ate a jar Mayo on the show along with the Warren burrito was pretty crazy he was the main host of the show and some of Mr Spurlock's other work includes another documentary called where in the world is Osama Bin Laden which sounds like a terrible children's book yooo Osama and in this film he would L miles it up and visit numerous African and Middle Eastern countries and talk with people political figures and the like and members of the respective armies to figure out exactly where Osama Bin Laden is he also talked just in general about Islamic fundamentalism and the US's war on terror Spurlock was considered an embedded journalist or a journalist attached to a military unit in active combat pretty interesting stuff way more difficult and way scarier and way more dangerous than eating McDonald's for 30 days where's Osama bin Laden B I'm not a politic man yeah I don't know nothing about a pol I'm a cpet theer I saw carpet interestingly in the film Morgan Spurlock speculated that Bin Laden was hiding your pesha War Pakistan when Bin Laden was found he was only 200 km away in a bad which is ridiculous what's even crazier is in a report in 2017 directly from the CIA Spurlock's documentaries found on one of Osama Bin Laden's hard drive by the way look up the other stuff that was on Osama Bin Laden hard drive I I I sing I've singular it it was it supposed to be plural he had more than one hard drive he had some weird [ __ ] on his hard drives guy was a freak all right you know weird dude to be honest so yeah the point is the guy was prolific and he was considered a legit journalist and you know there's some interesting stuff that he did he contributed a lot of stuff journalistically more than I ever have in my entire life but still comes down to the fact that no film that he made has had as great of an impact on the world such as super seis me specifically the success that it had on him not really the impact on the world more so his success it was gigantic now what exactly was super siiz me well you came to the right YouTube channel suiz me would shed a light on America's unhealthy relationship with fast food okay guys each day one in four Americans visits a fast food restaurant and this hunger for fast food isn't just an America it's happening on a global basis McDonald's alone operates more than 30,000 joints in over 100 countries on six continents and feeds more than 46 million people worldwide every day that's more than the entire population of Spain I also have an unhealthy relationship with fast food I see food in my house in my refrigerator and I'm like would it be easier for me to make something or would it be easier for me to order something and have it brought to me that is very bad that I think that way and that I do that and we all should probably not do that anymore back to Super siis me it was well-intentioned it seemed at least but it was also misleading and quite frankly disingenuous I was extremely disappointed when I saw this movie here was an opportunity to actually provide insights into a serious problem in fact all it turned out to be was an extreme stunt where someone engaged in irresponsible behavior of eting twice as much as it required every day limiting physical activity it was a complete disservice to any looking for factual information or real solutions and that's according to a lot of people not just me I really don't have any idea I got no dogs in the fight to be honest I'm not hu I'm not I'm not super sized I don't eat a lot of fast food I'm relatively a healthy guy I do sell candy and [ __ ] but like I also don't claim that it's like good for you it's candy you know eat it or not it's cool it's fun whatever and also I have less dogs in the fight because I didn't go to public school and apparently according to some sources this film was shown all over the US in schools as a means of deterring children and people in general from eating too much fast food or trying to be healthy which is good it's type of it's it's Michelle obam cated to be honest it's good it's good I feel like that's a good thing right you know I watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi well I was being homeschooled just kidding I did that like one day for lunch or something in 2017 I forget I didn't watch anything when I was being homeschooled sorry I got a little distracted I was texting my boyfriend I don't have a boyfriend I was just kidding I have a girlfriend I have a we're not actually really girlfriend boyfriend though it's just for it's just for cameras just for you know we're not really we don't really do that kind of thing you know you know what I mean though anyways anyways what's bizarre to me is that suiz me in spite of me never really watching it as a child or really knowing what it was I still knew what it was I heard about it I knew about it it was a gigantic meme feels like it's been around forever but ironically it hasn't and that's ironic by the definition of it you see before 2004 it didn't exist and now though it's huge it's part of the the pop culture Zeitgeist and has been since 2004 and it's a dope ass experiments wrapped up in one little Blockbuster hit it's all about the effects of fast food on the human body with a focus on McDonald's because it offered a supersized meal which was the peak of American portion sizing which is a meme in and of itself itself and that's been a huge huge thing in America and I feel like the mid 2000s were a like that was a crazy time in terms of just red pilling people with fast food I guess red pill marketing or would that be blue pill marketing that'd be would that be fat pill marketing what would you call that misleading pill it's evil and it gets signed off on by doctors and [ __ ] too it's crazy how many just lie studies backup stuff people base their marketing on it's wild I say we burn everything to the ground I mean what would happen if I ate nothing but McDonald's for 30 days straight would I suddenly be on the fast track to becoming an obese American would it be unreasonably dangerous let's find out I'm ready Supersize Me early on in the documentary Morgan raises the question where does personal responsibility end and when does corporate responsibility begin and me a person who is incredibly wealthy and corporate I would say never it's all personal responsibility but at the same time time a human being with a brain I understand that there's a level of just lies that they can get away with and they can just they can just lie to you and mislead you and Lead You astray and then you'll buy their [ __ ] for money and it's it's evil and it's bad and I think it's an important conversation this idea of the end of personal responsibility and the beginning of corporate responsibility I think is a cool thing to revisit consistently throughout this video because it's not like McDonald's has people outside their doors like pointing you know you walk up McDonald's and it's like you have to come in you come within the radi ey of a McDonald all right now you have to come in and order 15 Big Macs obviously people have people have got they've got brains they can make decisions but also scops are an actual thing and marketing is basically a big scop that's why I try really hard whenever I sell my candy that's bad for you I'm just like it's candy cuz I don't want to lie to people cuz I'm not farmer McDonald or whatever Ronald the clown guy I'm a normal I'm a regular guy one thing I've noted additionally is that the prices of menu items in 2004 were drastically different than they are now especially with all the Big Heist prices and all that price hikes and all that [ __ ] recently also prices just vary dependent upon where you are and you can see the swing from low and high prices on this map that we've got pricing around the US showing the price of a Big Mac depending on location guys I'm going to live wherever they're cheapest but the Big Macs are pretty cheap here unless you have someone drive and get it for you with door Dash then it's really expensive and not worth it but I do it still sometimes usually when it's raining usually when it's raining or icy or inclement weather of some kind and it's dangerous and I don't want to go out so I put someone else in danger I don't I'm just kidding but also that's true though it's up but it's true I do that sorry I guess back to the prices there are extreme ends of the Big Mac price but the middle lies around $5.75 or so so you know like a couple dollars not terrible back in 2004 it was closer to $2.50 it is more than doubled since that movie what are you doing what's that sound why are you making so much racket how did you even make that sound additionally Mr Spurlock for the suis me documentary had three doctors monitoring his health during the strict McDonald's challenge to see how it's altered by The Challenge so I Enlisted the help of not one but three doctors a cardiologist a gastroenterologist and a general practitioner each of these doctors do their own individual tests before he ever takes a bite of McDonald's food there's a cardiologist to monitor heart health a gastroenterologist which does stomach stuff and like gastrointestinal stuff I think I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that that's what they do if I'm wrong then sorry I guess that's what I've got errors and omissions insurance for though and also a general practitioner who did in fact put a finger in Morgan's butt which is pretty cool that was at the start of the film I like to be more thorough than that and I like the doct to be thorough you're going to go downstairs get your bloods drawn you know to provide a thorough examination Dr Phil style did you guys know that Dr Phil is not a real doctor is that [ __ ] funny he's a psychologist that's whack that's nonsense anyways all this stuff seems like it has to be scientific right well the only way to know for sure how an entire month of McDonald's impacts the human body is to closely monitor two primary systems that relate to your health in general and then a ener practitioner so it seems like it yeah they ask him questions about his substance abuse additionally to get an idea of where he's at and this will come in very important later on because it's it's a uh uh it's I mean it's it's just an important part it comes in very important it's a little bit sad but you know we'll get to that any alcohol use now none you don't smoke I I used to but I don't any drug use at all not for a long time they ask Morgan if he drinks or smokes or uses drugs of any kinds uh and he says no to all of those things like I do whenever I'm getting my life insurance testing done uh no I don't do any of that stuff I actually don't I'm very very extremely EMB boring and annoying in another Twist of irony Morgan happened to also be dating a vegan Chef during the film and I think I need to learn what irony is I don't think I know you are a vegan Chef yes I'm a vegan Chef I just don't know if I can of course I will I'll sit next to him while he eats McDonald's of course I will I'm just gonna be rolling my eyes the whole time so I'm sure she was thrilled to watch him go through 30 days of eating the worst quality food in the entire world she probably was her name was Miss Katie by the way and she I think is the vegan teacher on YouTube maybe I'm not sure it could be a different girl though different vegan that's a lie by the way I'm sort of doing my own bit of misleading for this video she did say though before they started that she thought it might affect their relationship which is pretty funny it's pretty wild very bold and honest I know he's going to do it for a month but I think after a week he going to be really irritated I think it's going to affect our relationship the relationship is pretty important too because ahead of this the man was eating relatively healthy before he embarked in this experiment he had a healthy diet because of his because of his girlfriend or wife or whatever the so the shock that he had to endure was probably more so than the average person tart and a quinoa and roasted veggie salad artichokes and a simple green salad all beautiful organic fresh vegetables that you're going to miss so much what am I going to have that's organic in the next month nothing nothing you're only going to have genetically modified potatoes or maybe not I'm not sure he went from eating a lot of green stuff to Burger gray stuff [ __ ] that would survive the nuclear apocalypse have you ever seen the time lapses of McDonald's like the McDouble they just stay the same they just stay the same so normally stuff rots and bugs eat it but McDonald's hamburgers they stay the same and I tell you what they they look this whenever I eat them I don't they just come out as like it's like a hamburger like it's it's like a long hamburger normally poop turns like brown for some reason whenever at McDonald's it just comes out as like ham like a long hamburger like a ham dog in the film there's a bunch of on the street type interview stuff as well asking people how frequently they eat fast food and where they go do you eat fast food once in a while yeah once in a while how often this establishes just how Americans kind of enjoy fast food it's cool how much they indulge on I really like the documentary all all jokes aside it's a really entertaining watch and it's cool and if you've never seen it I recommend watching it it's interesting it's good it's good rest in peace Morgan Spock this gentleman goes once every two weeks I'd say probably once every two weeks there's one guy that goes four times a week which is quite a lot oh three four times a week maybe and then there's also a European a French woman who says she doesn't go at all to eat fast food in America because she thinks it's unclean but she does each fast foods in Fran because it's different or something I think the rules are different I'm not really sure actually I am 100% sure the rules are vastly different they're way easier here don't eat the candy it's full of [ __ ] and piss and rot uh in front yes yeah but here not I don't like here it doesn't sound very um clean and uh what's your favorite place uh probably one of these magdo Taco Bell Taco Bell McDonald's is pretty close she also says that the small size is the largest size that's available in French which I call [ __ ] on that but also not French thank God ever have a super sized CES uh no uh in France uh uh the small size here it's the bigger size in France even the small size here I come to drink it's a lot of information and these examples also give a an idea as to the frequency which people choose to eat something that isn't the best for them it's either never if you're a French person or a couple times a week or just not that all it's about personal choice really they're establishing the idea of personal choice these people just choose when they go to fast food places and they're aware of it in their mind they have control Morgan on the other hand is going to the extreme of extreme ends of this experiment by eating it for breakfast lunch and dinner so most people just have a level of control a monom of rationality that they live their lives by a modom that's tiny that's small it's ironic really because of how big everyone is get it you know we have obesity crisis so you know I thought that might be funny somewhere someone laughed I think overall tough crowd though overall tough Crow so Morgan has rules for himself and his rules are to be as unhealthy as possible for 30 days very few people are going to be going to McDonald's the same degree that Mr Spurlock does in this documentary that is the whole point if McDonald's doesn't sell it I can't eat it I have to have everything on the menu at least once over the next 30 days and I have to have three squares a day breakfast lunch and dinner no excuses now interesting little side fact there was another lawsuit on the behalf of two obese children targeting McDonald's blaming the fast food chain for the children becoming diabetic experiencing heart disease among other things but because being incredibly unhealthy is very bad for you there's a reason that the word unhealthy exists and and obesity is considered a disease because it it causes metabolic disorders it starts to you know you get one it's like a Pokemon you can't just get one you start to get all of them all right you start going down the list of metabolic disorders when you put [ __ ] inside your body for a really long period of time and are sedentary uh it's bad it's really bad in the documentary Morgan ask some of the same people we've already seen on the street what they think about the on ongoing lawsuit with people suing McDonald's over the child's weight game the children's weight game the French woman believes that it is ridiculous because it's American to sue for everything which I would agree I think that's nonsensical I think suing people is dumb generally speaking unless they just blatantly lie about you people who are suing these fast food companies yes yes I heard I think it's ridiculous but it's uh is uh the American way to sue for uh everything but we got another Chad who says that he' throw the lawsuit out if he was a judge because he can he can walk past a sign without walking in so why can't they and brain rot brain rot Elbo child Elbo little kid I throw the lawsuit out if I was a judge and like I was saying if uh these these fast food places can put their signs up if I can walk by them and just totally ignore them and say I'm not hungry I don't need this they can do it too how does a kid even drive to McDonald's so yeah you get the idea though it falls back on the question we asked in the very beginning where does personal responsibility end and corporate responsibility begin we will continue to ask this question throughout the length of this video or whatever the I'm supposed to say right there I don't know how to do words very well now we'll do a little bit of backing up that fast food chains restaurants McDonald's in particular can be somewhat held responsible for this kind of weight gain and health issues because of the the claims that they make on the potential impact for health one of the most disturb things uh to me is that in the last 20 to 25 years we've actually seen a doubling of overweight and obese children and Adolescence and this weight gain has been linked to countless health problems later in life such as hypertension coronary heart disease stroke gallbladder disease osteoarthritis sleep apnea respiratory problems endometrial breast prostate and colon cancers dyslipidemia seata hepatitis insulin resistance asthma hyperemia reproductive hormone abnormalities polycystic ovarian syndrome impaired fertility and adult onset diabetes everything has potential side effects have you ever listened to a commercial about any kind of pharmaceutical medication don't take OIC if you or your family ever had meary thyroid cancer or have multiple endocrine plasia syndrome type 2 or if allergic to it stop OIC can get medical help right away if you get a lump or swelling in your neck severe stomach pain or an allergic reaction serious side effects may include pancreatitis gallbladder problems may occur tell your provider about vision problems or changes taking OIC with the spanol Ura or insulin may increase low blood sugar risk side effects like nausea vomiting and diarrhea may lead to dehydration which may worsen kidney problems there is half of the length of that commercial just listing off side effects death [ __ ] dissenter blood consumption you will die from consumption nightmare nightmare nightmare Victorian child basically in every aspect of life you need to be careful and you need to be rational when making decisions that could affect your health it's all about moderation regardless of what you're doing whether it's eating a lot of prescription drugs eating McDonald's drinking alcohol smoking drug you have to do it in moderation you trog come on what the come on Hunter Biden somebody get this guy a crack pipe a solid point in the film is that we live in a world where you can choose to eat food that makes you fat and you can also choose to eat food that doesn't make you fat and to prove this point Morgan brings on Jared Fogo hi I'm Jared the subway guy and this is my story overnight ABC News confirming Jared the subway guy Fogle is expected to plead guilty to charges related to a child investigation the guy from Subway the file from Subway Subway's number one file so without further Ado let's welcome Jared F my my big thing was never smoking it was never drinking obviously it wasn't doing drugs my big vice was food and before I knew it I wound up weighing 425 lbs I brought in a present for you my old pants that are now made famous in all the subway commercials he's like a public speaker he showcases his transformation and Jared essentially had his own ad campaign with Subway to Showcase how much healthier Subway is to other fast food which is just not true for years I ate fried food and burgers that looked like this and I looked like this then I found sub restaurants and I realized I can enjoy lots of great tasting food without lots of fat that's just not even true at all dude it's you can get [ __ ] at Subway just cuz you can get like bread and a little bit of lettuce and stuff doesn't mean it's less healthy overall or it's more healthy overall it's nonsense calories in versus calories out isn't just a picture that's not the full picture is it healthier than McDonald's in general yeah for sure obviously I mean yeah but I would not consider Heth Subway healthy at all I mean I'm a big hater of Subway especially since the Jared Fogle thing happened he really brought them down I haven't been to a Subway in years and also they just suck too Subway just sucks it's like why not just make it at H at home for cheaper hi I'm Jared the subway guy and this is my story young guy eats too much junk food and gains a lot of weight guy changes his life by eating at Subway twice a day and walking a lot guy loses over 200 lb and keeps weight off for 17 years guy now has two kids and even more reason to pass on better eating habits to young people everywhere yeah this dude's like the EDP of fast food for real I mean actually it's [ __ ] weird guy this part of the documentary is essentially Subway propaganda which I will not have it's it's not real it's fake don't listen to this Subway sucks sure it's healthier than McDonald's probably maybe but like at the same time I will never say that either one of those things are they're not apples and oranges it's apples and Granny Smith apples and a red delicious apple they're the same thing Subway's whack okay big Subway hater right here all right I'd rather eat churches chicken or some [ __ ] like that it's part is hilarious they even allude to the solution for weight gaining children being two Subway sandwiches a day that's wild I guess it's kind of cool to know somebody or be able to listen to Somebody talk about actually being where I am right now and it's kind of hard because I can't afford to like go there every single day and buy sandwich like two times a day and that's what he's talking about like that's the only solution like that's what he's said that like worked the best but I can't do that now on to Morgan getting his first super siiz meal he claims he's getting the sweats and shakes from all the sugar just give me a minute I'm in pure McDonald Heaven this is going to be you like after every meal oh I'm I'm dying that's so nasty it's making me puke even throws up after eating all that food you don't have to eat that much dude I don't even throw I don't even eat all of it for one and I also don't throw up after I eat it what the it's not that disgusting how much sugar is actually in the McDonald's meal well guys if we look up a large Big Mac meal there's 1300 calories and 89 g of sugar how is that even possible and some meals have like 95 G and 68 G and stuff how was there that is it just from the soda I guess it's got to be right it has to be cuz there can't be that much in a Big Mac and there there carbs are different from sugar it's like similar but they're different still I don't get it anyways anyways 5 days into the experiment we get to see the results when he goes to get a doctor checkup okay 10 lounds of weight gain in less than a wheat over 5% of his money weight from 185 to 195 lb in less in a week what the was 186 last2 193 194 no we have to stop everything I don't believe it 195 lb can't we have to redo this that's zero that thing is zeroed second try 88 92 94 you're gained actually about 5% of your body weight losing weight that fast and getting weight that fast is not healthy he also starts feeling depressed a weekend which makes sense cuz it sounds like that would suck eating only McDonald's for a week that sounds terrible I don't feel good today not that I feel sick but um I just feel really depressed you know for no reason I mean things are going great we've had a good day I just feel really yeah it's not real hard eating this food all the time just because you know it tastes good it makes you feel good now the question could could be asked is the food doing this that's actually making him feel depressed and getting all this weight is it just him lying to make a more compelling documentary cuz it would be quite boring if just nothing happened and it actually was calories in calories out you know he's eating 2,000 calories a day let's say here and then you swap that out with McDonald's you're not going to gain 10 lbs in a week that's not how that works that's just not how that works if you're finishing the whole meal maybe but people don't often do that maybe they do I'm not exactly sure a lot of open-ended questions for this part though right I don't know I've never eaten McDonald's every day for a week but I tell you what my kitchen was being renovated for a while last year and that [ __ ] sucked cuz all I was eating was chilies my I felt unwell for a while all I ate was chilies chilies and Taco Casa not good both of those suck to be honest not good very bad very very bad not good morgan then meets up with old son Don Gorski the Big Mac Enthusiast a man who is famous for only eating Big Max and is honestly pretty skinny All Things Considered it's pretty interesting he looks he looks like a pretty regular guy in fact in March of this year he hit 34,000 Big Macs he's like a one of those guys in Fallout that eats the pink slime he's a ghoul insane to think about B's eaten 34,000 since the this film came out he's eaten 15,000 Big Macs and Morgan Spurlock has died what a crazy crazy amount of stuff happening in the doc they show on a McDonald sign that he's celebrating his 19,000 Big Mac it's like a cool Milestone wholesome familyfriendly moment it's kind of odd to be celebrating that to be honest this this dude is a shining example of what eating a lot of Big Macs will do we can all aspire to this level of Swag and drip and cold ass Just Swag I mean look at this haircut dude the impeccable diet he's renowned in his field the field of Big Macs gu's cool though guy's pretty cool I like this guy a lot the Big Mac Enthusiast haircut is insane that is a awesome haircut I cannot get enough of that look at that thing that's wild but to the dock they call attention to the advertisement of sugary cereals drinks and fast food highlighting that there is an epidemic of these kind of foods that are being propagated to Children endlessly on television this is a problem that still exists in my point uh my opinion God there's something wrong with me I think there's something wrong with me average American child sees 10,000 food advertisements per year on television 95% of those are for sugared cereals soft drinks fast foods or candy a parent who eats every meal every day for the whole year with her child and every meal gives a very compelling nutrition message and can bring in cartoon characters and Michael Jordan so instead of selling McDonald's he sells oranges and Britney Spears instead of selling Pepsi will will sell radishes or or lettuce or something that parent will have a thousand cracks at their child compared to 10,000 for the food industry so it's not a fair fight buy some sour boys I think maybe you should do that it's ironic because it's like advertisement I'm adver iing on my channel I don't know dude I suck you ever realize that how bad I suck when it comes to Children though it is up to the parents to make the decision on behalf of the children because they're children and they can't be trusted with any sort of decision desite food what games they should be playing none of it you can't trust children what the don't trust children they can't purchase Foods it's up to the parents I will say though I believe there is something to sort of predatory advertising that's targeted as as children we've seen the top of things and the way that YouTube has kind of changed its entire guideline system based around Gathering the data of children and advertising towards children it's just it's bad it's real real real bad plus you just have YouTube for kids now they don't even monetize [ __ ] for kids and you know it's like a the worst nightmare ever whenever you get a video that is for kids and there's no comments the comments get turned off and then in come the babies [ __ ] watching it scrolling on their iPads B now what about schools though cuz parents don't really get to choose what foods offer at school are is food is good healthy food offered at schools no the one place where the impact of our fast food world has become more and more evident is in our nation's schools can I get a shot of your lunch right there you got you got a cookie and some fries you going to have anything else nope ketchup schools are probably a bigger problem than than fast food when it comes to children but I don't know I'm not really that smart all I know is my parents didn't let me eat anything unhealthy and it was like a treat it was like a very very guilty pleasure type thing you know it'd be late at night stop at McDonald's I'd get a nice coffee eat me some french fries you know dude I used to love going to McDonald's it was such a rare cool thing and I feel like that's a good balance because now I have you know excellent sort of Health hygiene and good logic instilled in my brain when it comes to food I don't know I was also homeschooled an incredibly isolated I wasn't really sheltered but I was just isolated and alone so enough about me how are you feeling a lot of schools are [ __ ] I was homeschooled once again I have no idea they provide government M baby frozen food Sloppy Joe's things like that stuff that needs to be reheated and reconstituted and generally speaking with kids as well they just eat whatever tastes best cuz they're stupid and their brains are small and they're they're dumb and they need to grow up and stuff and they don't have any idea of what abstract thoughts are they can't like you know object permanence and stuff I think that's like a three-year-old or whatever but I don't know dude I get is that your whole lunch too well I'm getting milk that's my it's my calcium and vegetable but you don't think you should take away things like like the I I tell you something Swiss Rolls I used to eat packs of these all the time while just offering these up in the lunch line are are we also are we setting the kids up to make bad choices no I don't believe so because a child like just like you saw the child she's not going so he just there and a child isn't going to pick up two or three but it doesn't mean this is all she's going to eat right you have to follow her back to her table and we got to go find Lori see that's all she's going to eat all I'm saying bud you hand a carrot to a kid in a Big Mac kid's going to eat a Big Mac every single day so would I I'd actually eat the carrot first and then I would eat some of the Big Mac that's what I would do it's how my brain works to further pontificate the fact that diet has a profound effect on behavior when it comes to children they claim a school was experiencing behavioral issues amongst the children and those Behavioral issues largely turned around when the diet they provided the students with was good this is the school by the way that inspired Michelle Obama Appleton Central Alternative High School is filled with students who have treny and behavioral problems but they've turned things around not through discipline but through diet we were fortunate to uh kind of stumble across this healthy healthy program as a result of uh some contact with natural Oven and Bakery of man atalk Wisconsin and the they uh believe in lowfat low sugar non-chemically processed foods that are free of dyes and preservatives um full of uh whole grains a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables uh we do no beef here at all and then it's the method of preparation where we don't fry uh we do a lot of baking and then just just fresh preparation as opposed to opening cans or thawing things out from the box we got rid of candy machines soda machines brought in bottled water and it was just um a situation where we saw a major change in the kids all right I made the Michelle Obama joke that's that's that can't be good that's the Michelle Obama joke this is the [Music] school it is now [ __ ] it is now bud Obama I think personally this school just cares more and not all schools are created equal and not all faculty are created equal and not all students are Crea equal they're just taking more steps to provide better food and they're probably making better decisions elsewhere too you know if you walk through these halls and you're here these do not look like at risk out of control kids they behaviors are better uh they seem to be more focused uh teachers will tell you that they get more out of them in the class keep in mind this is not a private school these are the quote unquote troubled kids of the public school system in Appleton Wisconsin that are eating so well and it cost about the same as any other school lunch program they just provide more for their students it seems cool I like whenever a school kind of takes an initiative and doesn't just fall at the very Baseline of what's federally legal so they can get money from the government we did a bit of researching ourselves I actually have a lab coat in the other room that sometimes I put on in Google stuff and same with my team as well we do we do a bit of research to be honest and when you do some research on this specific thing a correlation between Behavior grades and food the CDC website has a study which seems to indicate that that students with higher grades are more likely to engage in healthier choices so I don't know if it's like so dumb kids eat unhealthy and smart kids eat healthy but it's not like a diet leads to higher grades so that would be funny so it's like one one way it's true and the other way it's not true imagine if you just fed kids healthier they'd be smarter that'd be awesome I tell you what I wouldn't be I'd be upset I just be pissed if I couldn't have a Dr prepper every single day three or four every single day be pissed about that I'm just kidding I don't have that many I lie a lot it seems like I see a lot of untruths and I feel bad about I I must repent I must repent in the doc they claim that every school isn't like this because of junk food companies fighting back because they make gigantic profits off of children so my question is why isn't everyone doing this there's an awful lot of resistance from the junk food companies that that make huge profits off the schools at the present time they don't want to get kicked out of the school system they want to be there to addict the children for Life the soft drink companies especially boast about how they're contributing to America's education getting these kids addicted to their food will eventually lead to them becoming lifelong customers so it's like the long con kind of makes sense right it's kind of what I'm trying to do with uh candy stuff to be honest trying to get people addicted long-term customers repeat customers baby the 18-day check is one of concern in super siiz me poor mgan he's fing terrible I feel horrible today my headaches coming back again it feels like somebody's yanking on the tendons behind my eyes my body officially hates me all the vitamins that you see here vitamin E tham and ribal flaven nasin and so on are all under 50% of what you need you're getting quite a lot of carbohydrates and I know clearly that those are all refined carbohydrates because those are coming from the Buns biscuits hash browns okay and the sugar I mean let's not forget the most refined carbohydrate of all which is coming from your milkshakes and your Coke in fact there are only seven items on the McDonald's menu that contain no sugar whatsoever french fries chicken McNuggets hash browns sausage Diet Coke coffee and iced tea and the test results are bad he's not like he's a young guy either he's like a kind of a not an older dude but he's kind of middle-age guy his test results are bad it's cholesterol is higher than it has ever been cherol is 165 before now it's 225 a liver that's uh that's inflamed in any way or sick in any way will will will leak some of its enzymes out into the blood so this it's very non-specific but it means the the liver is sick yeah and the most likely cause of your liver sickness is a fatty liver your liver is now like P or at least a tire than it was before because he's been eating only McDonald's went from 165 to 220 those numbers mean nothing to me maybe they do to you if you're a cardiologist 18 days in his third weigh in he's 202 lb that is just under 20 lb heavier than when he started 202 yeah you lost I lost a pound oh thank God muscle weighs more than fat so no you might have lost some muscle mass and gained some fat Mass I lost a pound let's go get something to eat and magically he gets to McDonald's in his system he perks right up he no longer feels sad almost as if he's like an addict and he's got his fix dude maybe he's addicted to McDonald mcdo I was feeling bad in the car feeling like [ __ ] really I was feeling really really sick and unhappy started eating feel great feel really good now I feel so good it's crazy am that right baby yeah you're crazy give me a Big Mac this if you couldn't tell is the next point that the film is trying to make trying to point out people are becoming Reliant upon McDonald's and it's like a big conspiracy basically an interesting tie in here though is that during the film Morgan and his girlfriend get into an argument regarding this part of the corruption of the food industry I'm not going to completely become vegan just because you want me to I'm not saying you should do it because I want you to I'm saying that you need to think about what you believe is a system that is corrupt and immoral and wrong and hurtful but you're going to be a part of it where is the disconnect there why don't you make that choice why don't I make the choice to not eat meat yes um because you like it cuz I like meat it tastes good I like bacon I love pork chops ham is the greatest thing is awesome I'm sure it's heroin and ham are in completely different categories I'm sorry but ham and heroin are not the same thing they're not they're not I could be strung out on ham for days and be okay you are little strung out and I am strung out on ham is showing how much his mood improves when he consumes McDonald's helping or harming whatever point is trying to be made here at this part of the documentary they are heavily laying into the fear-mongering aspects of fast food's impact on the body by saying that it's wiping out his liver showing a call with his mom where he's worried he's going to harm himself which makes sense because he's literally harming himself by eating this much terrible food I'm just afraid there will be something that's totally irreversible you know that there will be some damage done that yeah I don't know so do they think that uh once you change your habits that that's going to correct itself yeah they think that um everything should get back on track once this is done you know your your liver you and I've even been doing some reading your liver is very resilient and your liver heals itself so well if you need if if you need a portion of my liver honey you can have it I'll give up part of my liver for you thanks Mom and now that they're driving home the fact that this can have a permanent impact on your health they start making the comparison of fast food to drugs like heroin and how these eating habits are a result of an actual addiction rather than having human rational agency and you're not making conscious choices it is a disease itself the food itself is is a disease not just obesity the result you kind of try to tie that point in logically by saying that a drug that's given to people who are addicted to heroin or you know gone through heroin withdrawal or overdoses when you give that same drug to people with chocolate addictions it helps it's a similar effect because it's like the same parts of your your brain opioid centers and stuff drug that is used in emergency rooms called Noone it's used for heroin overdose and a guy comes in overdose on heroin comos he's going to die you inject him with this drug and and it blocks the opiate receptors in the brain heroin doesn't work he wakes up if I give that same drug to a real chocolate addict a person just shoveling it in you find the most amazing thing they lose much of their interest in chocolate they take a bite they set it back down in other words it's not taste and mouth feel it's a drug effect of the food within the brain that keeps us coming back again and again me and my Opium Den I be like enjoying my life man back off I'm just a 19th centy Chinese fella smoking my opium to highlight the extremes of these kind of food addictions they show a couple who drink insane amounts of soda they buy 52 L bottles every two weeks and the husband went blind for a week dude oh I drank three or four of those a day three or four cuz this this is a half gallon so that means you were drinking probably about two gallons of two gallons of soda a day it wasn't unusual for a two we time we'd buy like 52 L of sod water 50 52 lers every two weeks mhm and I probably end up having to pick him up a couple extra he drinks more than I do I'll go through about one of those a day yeah uh there some days I go through three or four 2 L he drinks 3 to four 2 lit bottles of soda a day and she drinks one obviously very extreme example went blind for a week just went completely just one day out of the blue you went blind I went to work um got to work drove to work that night got to work there couldn't read the charts and I had to call my supervisor tell I couldn't work because I couldn't see what I was doing and called my wife had her get a ride to work to pick me up and take me home and then once I stopped drinking the um diet H Waters and stuff got my sugars back down my I was fortunate enough my eyesight came back I didn't do that much damage to him at that time further driving home the point that fast food is something you can actually become addicted to you know Soda is 100% something you can become addicted to they bring up the point again that his mood improves when he starts eating McDonald's that is you know when he he gets a little little taste of it he kind of perks back up sort of like I perk back up when I hit my opium pipe cuz I'm a 19th century Chinese man but it's interesting you're saying that your mood goes up once you start eating yeah lately every time I eat I feel 100% better huh so it seems like you're starting to get addicted to it now they then use a song and some imagery of McDonald's to basically say that McDonald's is a drug dealer which is pretty cool I like that part honestly it's pretty baller I can't believe they didn't get massively Mega Big Time bunker suit sued by mcdonal Hughes TBH you think they would you think they just Sue everybody for being critical of them I would if I was MCD Ronald if I was Ronald I would they didn't call nutritionists to see how often you should consume McDonald's or just in general fast food and one says that unless you've been bombed with Anthrax never in 2002 McDonald's France took out a full page ad in a French magazine in which a nutritionist stated there is no reason to go to McDonald's more than once a week McDonald's corporate headquarters in the US freaked out saying that this is only one opinion and that the vast majority of nutrition professionals say that McDonald's food can be a part of a healthy diet so we thought we'd randomly call some nutritionists to see what their opinions were when it came to eating fast food how often do you think that people should eat fast food ideally never rare to never the less the better zero is the best that's hopefully no no more often than once a month if you are stranded uh on a deserted island or if we get bombed with Anthrax and that that's the only food available that's the only time you should eat fast food you just should never eat fast food I don't know about that right like what's the point of living if you can't eat a little dirt little sugar little [ __ ] you know I like it I like it I drink a Dr Pepper I eat relatively healthfully I read books I take care of my health my brain my body my [ __ ] and my Opium Den you know I think there's a little beauty in [ __ ] I think I feel like just being a Nazi when it comes to that kind of [ __ ] is just not fun it makes no sense it's illogical it's illogical life is too short to not taste McDonald's I guess unless you think it's just disgusting but if you enjoy it why not cares bro day 21 3 weeks into the massive Mega Morgan Spurlock experiment he wakes up at 2 a.m. saying he couldn't breathe and as to walk around to catch his breath even feeling like he's having heart palpitations it's like 2:00 in the morning on uh February 21st I uh I woke up couldn't breathe was having really difficulty breathing I'm very hot and uh um felt like I was having uh heart palpitations this will be you if you eat McDonald's you've been warned he then goes to the doctor who says his EKG was fine but recommends taking a in Aspirin daily just because it's obviously for the for the for the documentary it makes sense like 21 days of this is not going to cause you to have a heart attack is it it it can't is it can it feel like it wouldn't but I don't know would you at least consider taking aspirin once a day now that you're on this ridiculous diet uh maybe I'll think about it why would you even think about it why wouldn't you just do it this is really you know you you saw these numbers right these numbers are absolutely outrageous maybe we'll find something else out in a little bit that will shed light on this question this film also highlights that lobbyists for the food industry are in Washington just doing what piece of [ __ ] lobbyists do and that's making sure that no legislation passes that's bad for for the industry nobody needs to be partisan about this issue we need fixes we need remedies we need support and how much influence on government legislators uh does the food industry have well the food industry is an enormous business in the United States therefore it employs very expensive and well-paid lobbyists and those lobbyists are in washing iction for two purposes number one to make sure that no government agency ever says eat less of the company's products number two that the government never passes legislation that is unfavorable and I guess the third one is to encourage the government to pass favorable legislation don't pass legislation to regulate or restrict or anything pass legislation to ease it in favor of it free McDonald's one day a week for everyone instead of a universal basic income we get free McDonald's one day a week yay yay in the documentary they essentially imply that the food industry is inseparable from the government at this point which is kind of true cuz it's like one of the forefronts of like capitalism I guess is food food service it's kind of important people need to eat so it makes sense but they're saying it like a separation of church and state kind of way which in my opinion is weird it's kind of weird they highlight this food government combination with a of a McDonald's character White House epic poop YouTube poop edit it's pretty pretty sweet there's a pledge of allegiance behind them oh say can you see by the dly Light what's so hail other words then day 27 rolls around and Morgan says that by the end of the month he'll have eaten the amount of McDonald's that the food nutritionists recommend eating over a period of 8 years that's three times a day over 30 days that's 90 McDonald's meals that's how many you should have over eight years sucks at the end of this month all I've eaten as much McDonald's as most nutritionists say You're supposed to eat in eight years not even once a week what the that's like once a month yeah that's once a month bro Cran it kind of makes sense this sort of reminds me of that time we all found out that drinking One Prime hydration is is like drinking a thousand a lifetime's worth of posa forever chemicals remember when we found that out on Tik Tok I'm being factious don't sue me Logan Paul I'm on your side for that one for just for that one though everything else go yourself to celebrate day 30 Morgan's girlfriend writes up a detox diet for him he throws a bit of a party at McDonald's to celebrate the accomplishment I guess now after you read what he eats every day and the nutritional information cuz I go through it [Music] [Applause] all we're sharing a portion yeah we're splitting for his final way and he comes in looking like a specimen he's up to 210 lb which is 25 lb over his starting weight in a month he gained 25 lb that's wild oh boy 210b I'm going to say 210 right on the money we went from 185.5 to 194 a week later to 203 then down to 202 and now 8 lbs during the last week for 210 wrapping up the film he brings up that lawsuit that was filed on behalf of the two girls that was against McDonald's on behalf of those two girls that was against McDonald's on behalf of those two girls that was against McDonald's on behalf of those two girls and the fact that it was thrown out because they couldn't prove that McDonald's caused their injuries which is that's that makes sense I mean in all honesty that seems kind of ridiculous but oh well after 6 months of deliberation judge Robert swe dismissed the lawsuit against McDonald's the big reason the two girls failed to show that eating McDonald's food was what caused their injuries interesting Morgan contradicts this fact by showcasing the between his health before the challenge and his health after the challenge and I guess that's a sort of contradictory point to make I suppose make sense in only 30 days of eating nothing but McDonald's I gained 242 lbs my liver turned to fat and my cholesterol shot up 65 points my body fat percentage went from 11 to 18% still below the national average of 22% for men and 30% for women I nearly doubled my risk of coronary heart disease making myself twice as likely to have heart failure I felt depressed and exhausted most of the time my mood swung on a dime and my sex life was non-existent I particularly enjoy the point in which he highlighted that it killed his sex drive and he called his penis worthless which is really funny you are worthless you little bastard you are worthless little bastard down there you so worthless and small and hairy why is the shaft hairy is that normal is that normal I'm just a 19th century Chinese opium D dweller relax now of course guys this documentary would be incomplete without a call to action he calls for McDonald's to dup away with the super siiz meeps why not do away with your super siiz options who needs 42 o of coke a half pound of fries and why not give me a choice besides french fries or french fries that would be a great start and he calls upon consumers to be more aware of what they're consuming and more conscious about what they eat if this ever growing Paradigm is going to shift it's up to you but if you decide to keep eating this way go ahead over time you may find yourself getting as sick as I did and you may wind up here or here and further on in a terribly called shot absolute horrible this dude is like the opposite of nostras he says that 2012 will be the year of McDonald's death that's funny I guess the big question is who do you want to see go first you or them [Music] that's funny it's been 20 years and McDonald's is still around still people over but oh well it's just because they keep raising prices and they don't have to they just keep opening up shitty stores and they don't care about how they're built anymore they all look the same they stupid and lame and like death they taste like death and they deliver death and they also look like death dude at least have some fun at least make it look cool if you're trying to kill me and be honest about it I'll eat it if you do that you you that's also another point that has aged quite poorly so how how did this film impact Society Society it's honestly huge it's gigantic it was massively popular you can see all the stats of it it did very very very well it was a breakout success for Mr Spurlock but how did it trickle down into an actual effect how did it actly affect society did it do anything good did it actually help us at all probably not did it fall flat probably okay probably actually it did have a pretty substantial impact on the landscape of fast food in America 6 weeks after the film was released McDonald's alongside most other major fast food chains remove their super siiz options from their menus entirely which is awesome huge massive W of course they stopped super sizing right after this right after six weeks after the movie premiered at Sundance and you know what they love to say is they love to say this would have been a great chance to really begin a dialogue to start to open some doors you know to a solution and look at what's happening look at the dialogue that's happening with you and I around the country I mean this movie is really starting people to talk about it I know that they're going to start offering an adult Happy Meal which includes a salad a bottle water a podometer and a Diet activity log designed by nutritionist is and this this hits stores today so so they eliminated superzing they said it has nothing to do with the film you know the the adult Happy Meal hits stores today the movie opens tomorrow just another amazing coincidence that is a gigantic deal because the superzee option had been a staple of the fast food industry since 1987 so the late 80s dude and he removed it with his documentary where he made them look terrible rightfully so in my opinion I like it I like it but not all of it age well okay as for advertising for the super size option McDonald's put a a ad in a bunch of movies who frame Roger Rabbit big news McDonald's super siiz cups now feature the stars of H brained Roger Rabbit I'm a ton now at McDonald's for a limited engagement appearing on three different super siiz Coca-Cola cups the stars of the new movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit Jurassic Park something big is coming to McDonald's or it now something of such enormous proportions stand back it could only be called the Jurassic Park extra value meal okay let's see an enormously juicy triple cheeseburger with fries and a medium drink in one of six free Jurassic Park collector cups the Jurassic Park extra value meal a dino sized value for a dino sized appetite Hey where's mine what you want is what you get at McDonald's today all right point of that is that this documentary toppled that billion dooll idea probably a multi-million dollar at least idea hundreds of millions of dollars uh idea that's incredible McDonald's in a hilariously weak attempt to try and do as much damage control for their public PR as possible after taking down their super siiz menu said that they didn't do it because of the documentary it was in no way related which is bold bold thing to say there dude Ronald who are you clown with the hell shut up [ __ ] my phone just went you know when it like tries to talk back and you just shut it down immediately qu yapping how about that not only did this documentary take down the super siiz menu Across America but it also made it into Health classes in high schools across the us there were mixed reviews of course by students and parents about the film but nonetheless it had a clear impact on us society and it completely changed the narrative in regard to fast food it was huge it was massively important you like how in the beginning of this I was pretending like I didn't know I knew this whole time it's wild this thing was a big deal seriously big deal and that is extra doubly important when you get to his how he got canceled Morgan Spurlock got canceled by the way this whole thing was the configration that led to Old Michelle Obama a few years later when the Obama Administration took office and they implemented the new food standards for foods that were served in schools within the United States which they made him ass to be fair but it's a lot healthier arguably healthier in some instances not every instance of course lots of reviews came out lots of people who were upset some of these upset people could be viewed as just purely defensive reactions to parents and children who obviously have been consuming fast food for their entire lives regularly and they hate to see their Lifestyles criticized people hate being criticized which is fair and valid and if you're doing it you're not hurting anybody who the cares but if you're like hurting your children by letting them meet McDonald's a lot I'd say three times a week is too much in my opinion if I had to say I'd say three times a week it's too much I'm like once a week if that for McDonald's spefic specifically probably once a week I'll have pizza generally and some late nights I'll get a Big Mac some like Saturday nights honestly it's probably every other every two weeks I'd say maybe twice a month Max yeah I think that's about I think that's accurate I could see on my door Dash but cuz I never go there I don't ever it's not worth going there and I also only take about a bite then I get full cuz I'm a puss boy anyways off the tangent now a lot of people probably wondering did this have a big effect on how people ate in America well kind of yeah safe to assume that it would for sure you know people might see this they already believe that McDonald's isn't super healthy that's why most people don't eat McDonald's for breakfast lunch and dinner cuz that's dumb most people know that fast food is not healthy and they eat it rarely it probably reinforce that which is good but it actually did make a pretty substantial difference in a study published in 2007 by the Journal of the Academy of nutrition and dietetics dietetics I I think that's how you say that I'm not exactly sure di the study was titled knowledge and psychosocial effects of the film superz me on young adults the study found that young adults who had watched the documentary compared to young adults who didn't consciously made more healthy diet choices which is very interesting and I feel like that's true you know just like how whenever people watch my videos their lives improve drastically you know it's kind of like one of those things it's like a symbiotic relationship we've got here baby girl so according to the study this documentary had a positive effect on its viewers which is cool at the very least as a result of the film fast food restaurants made their nutrition info for their menu items a lot more accessible following the Revelation made by the film that mini McDonald's locations didn't have any nutrition info McDonald says nutrition information for all their products is available online but according to the 2,000 US Census more than half of all us homes still don't have internet access so what are these people supposed to do go to the stores for information is that information even there I went to find out do you guys have any of the nutrition fact sheets you guys have one of those you know the things that fold out and have the nutrition info in [Music] them aren't any over there or would they be up front yeah but they got lots of info about Dora the Explorer live you just couldn't find out what was in McDonald's that's crazy now just common you open it up and you see that it's terrible for you people still eat it though doesn't change much get a little trade little thing on the bottom side little nutritional facts furthermore in a chart posted by the National Institute of diabetes and digestive and kidney diseases it is seen that childood obesity levels went down a little yeah that's cool but unfortunately they skyrocketed in 2013 and 14 when Morgan Spurlock's NE next movie I was wrong came out just kidding it had nothing to do with him but that does seem to be related to an increase in in food advertising though plus an increase in watching television and being lazy pieces of [ __ ] and that in turn has led to a massive increase in obesity Nationwide which is terrible it's an absolute bad thing so the supersized truth comes out why did Morgan Spurlock get canceled as a result of this seems like a good thing if you see suis me as a propaganda piece against the fast food industry and McDonald's in particular in 2013 we saw the opposite when a high school teacher named John cisna created his own McDonald's documentary which completely refuted everything made by Morgan in suiz me all the claims all the claims my name is John sisna and I'm a Junior and Senior High science teacher at colesco High School here in Colo Iowa one of the alarming statistics that's risen its ugly head in this country is that of obesity and weight problems in the United States alone two out of every three people are considered to be overweight and once even more alarming is that one out of every three people in the United States is considered obese so John ate McDonald's every meal for three months instead of one month and the goal was to see if you could become healthier by eating McDonald's which is crazy so we are going to try to replicate the super siiz me documentary that was done only do it exactly opposite in the way it was done several years ago instead of starting with somebody that is in shape that is exercising whose blood work is very good good we're going to start from the other end of the spectrum voila Mr sisna we are going to test the hypothesis is it possible for a person to eat nothing but breakfast lunch and dinner at McDonald's for 90 straight days to become healthy over the course of the experiment John had a help in the form of some students crafting his daily menu this along with the parameters to stay closer to the 2,000 or so daily calories recommended which is what I kind of said in the very beginning this is the team of students that put together this project on my immediate left is Tanner in the middle is Grant and on the end is Savannah all three are planning to go to college to study some form of exercise Andor nutrition Tanner Grant and Savannah were in charge of creating the menu each day they had to allow me 2,000 calories per day and to stay as close as possible to the recommended daily allowance of the 15 nutrients we were tracking this ended up being a balancing act as they had to take in consideration both of these parameters as they changed the menus and due to John's different parameters he never really got tired of his food it's a very different experiment from Morgan's experiment because he was just eating McDonald's all day every single day he never tried specifically to stay within a certain perimeter he tried to eat as much as he possibly could to the point where he would vomit and many people kept asking me aren't you getting tired of the menu aren't you getting tired at eating at the same place and the answer is no there were no recommended nutrition guidelines he was just eating he would buy something from McDonald's and eat all of it which is not is that normal do you guys finish stuff that you get when you eat food when you buy food do you finish it I don't ever finish it I'm a I don't eat a lot I need to eat more I'm skinny look at me I'm skinny skinny Legend you know it's what that opium will do I got that Opium Den body it's also important to remember in Morgan's doc that whenever he was asked if he wanted his order supersized he would and while Morgan would see his health decline over the lengthy experiment Jon saw his health improve which which is crazy calories in calories out I don't know man it's interesting this guy got a vegan wife too what the going on right now sounds like they got beef get it John also began exercising for this experiment walking 1.5 M and 30 minutes on his first day he just improved his life but instead of eating healthy food he just ate McDonald's food within the recommended daily nutrition guidelines so interesting stuff the nutritional part was pretty easy but the exercise that was a horse of a different color as as you can see here the first day didn't start off quite as well as I hoped it would well I tell you what my mind says yes my body says holy buckets Batman didn't quite make it the 45 minutes made it 30 minutes but uh this is uh kind of tough carrying this kind of weight around I did make it a mile and a half though so a mile and a half in 30 minutes that's about a 3 minute mile Pace I have no doubt I'm going to have to warm up tomorrow morning just to get out of bed and with his daily activity he would continue to improve he got all the way up to walking for 40 minutes 2 and a/4 Miles well I was right the next day I did have to warm up just to get out of bed and I swear if I would have died I would have felt better but as you can see from this clip as time went on it got better and better and there was hope of what was to come well kind of reached the end of my rope for today this is the end of the first week of the exercises today I didn't quite make it 45 minutes made it 40 minutes but I made up nine laps so that's that's about 2 and a/4 M so I do the MTH right that's around 3 and3 mil per hour it's a whole lot better than the started of the week by the end of his fifth week he dropped 20 PBS and still wasn't tired of eating McDonald's just concluded the fifth week I've dropped 20.2 lbs I feel great and the thing that's really surprising pleasantly surprising is that I'm not tired of the McDonald's food I think there's just enough deviation in the in the meals that I'm getting that's still making it nice in my opinion this is more of a testament to the effects of just consistent exercise than it is to the health effects of McDonald's you know it kind of makes a bit of sense like that but I don't think anybody with a brain would say that McDonald's is like healthy right I feel like food should rot when you leave it out in the sun I feel like bugs and [ __ ] should come and eat it but they don't with McDonald's it's it's weird so yeah it's possible to become healthier when you're eating McDonald's for sure but is it the best option absolutely not there's no there's no way I think that's uh if you pretend that it is the best option or if you pretend that it doesn't matter you're misrepresenting the actual facts of the situation here Morgans is just saying that McDonald's is bad always no matter what but it also includes the important context that when you eat it a lot and you just make yourself sick by eating so much of it and you're just drinking a lot of soda and stuff that that's bad and then this guy is kind of like doing the opposite thing where it's just like well this is you know I've lost a lot of weight and I got really healthy but it's also just the consistent exercise and eating a certain amount of calories you'd be better off just not you'd be better off just exercising and doing that both could be seen as irresponsible is the point so in my opinion this does not prove the opposite of Morgan's experiments but it kind of also does it's just equally biased things kind of fighting against one another their experiments aren't like and they do not represent any information in an unbiased way or fashion which leaves the truth likely hidden somewhere in the middle which is just eat healthy most of the time 80% of the time 20% of the time do whatever you want you'll be healthier that way I promise and your brain will work better as well I do think John's documentary does show that there is an importance of using critical thinking skills and planning meals around nutrition and moderation I do think there's a lot of benefit that and obviously Morgan's documentary does a good job of shining a light on the problem that glorifying food that is not good for you is a problem there's a really good video on YouTube from Kiana Doty I think about John's documentary calling into question its Integrity I recommend you guys watching it's very interesting this whole I want to know what you guys think because it it really is hard to McDonald's is bad for you but exercise is good and eating too much is also bad for you if you eat a little bit it's it's fine it's like there's a lot of complexity it's not that simple it's not just calories in calories out and you'll be healthier just cuz you're skinny doesn't mean you're healthy as well like that's [ __ ] as well ask people with eating disorders I mean come on the issue for me was in addition to this documentary being a pretty cringe the documentary ended up being both the perfect advertisement for McDonald's and rebuttal to Supersize Me Like to the point that McDonald's couldn't have written it better themselves if I would have given the kids this project and said look I want you to go to a grocery store and I want you to put me on a 2,000 calorie diet of course you're going to be better off the only difference between that and what we did is that we had a smaller grocery store our grocery store was McDonald's Morgan would have more trouble in his future other than just John our boy releasing a documentary contradicting the claims that were made in his uh his character would be called into question only a few short years later and by a few short years I mean like a couple weeks ago and he died right after that which is really extremely sad but he was canceled he was recently canceled for some things that came out about the documentary we've been talking about suiz me this is like the first time he's been cancelled in regard to suiz me but in 2017 December he was cancelled during the me to movement he publicly admitted to sexual misconduct with a girl while drunk and cheating on his previous spouses in a twit longer he released a twit longer about it that's not good bad move there buddy boy this admission in 2017 would cause him to step down from his production company and from just making films alog together his sequel to Super siiz me was supposed to be a YouTube Red exclusive akin to how his first film gained such notoriety but it was dropped by YouTube after statement went public the film did get distributed by Samuel Goldwin films in 2019 the same company who also distributes the the first film without ads the one that was on YouTube at least and the me too news got picked up by a bunch of Publications numerous news outlets NBC they damaged his reputation massive well he damaged his own reputation and they just kind of made it the news that's what the news does it's what I do too I love damaging people's reputations it's kind of like my thing I'm just kidding I don't know I just talk about [ __ ] that happens seems like people like their own [ __ ] up though it's kind of what I'm look it's kind of the way I look at it but yeah anyways December 2017 not the first time he's been canceled the most recent one he's he's he's his public eye reputation's damaged for sure and then after this one he got canceled again because it was becoming more public that he had been binging alcohol during the entire filming of the famous super seis me documentary and that he had been a chronic alcoholic for 30 years which is a very long time he first publicly mentioned this in the 2017 twit longer however the signs were subtly available within the documentary two separate doctors commented on the atrocious state of his liver one even compared his liver to someone who had a drinking problem ironically enough anybody would would would say right now that you're sick you feel fatigued with this you feel lethargic with this you'll feel ROM with this you'll feel so somebody were doing this to their liver with alcohol they could theoretically Wipe Out the liver you know wipe out all the liver cells and and and and they'd be in liver failure now I've never heard of anybody doing this to the liver with with with with with a high fat diet but I guess anything's POS I me I don't know can't answer the question never never been done before no one's ever wiped out their liver with a high fat diet before that's might be an actual use of irony I think I don't know I don't know how that [ __ ] works I forget oh well this gets extra bad though and super misleading because near the end of the documentary a physician is flabbergasted as to how this man's high fat McDonald's diet can cause him to have a liver that is akin to a alcoholic's liver so the truth comes out it unravels slowly over time the results for your liver are obscene beyond anything I would have would have thought yeah truly I I mean you know that movie uh death in Las Vegas Nicholas Cage I mean that pickled isiv during the course of a few weeks in Las Vegas right I would would never thought that you could do the same thing with a high fat diet yeah uh my advice to you as a physician is that you got to stop pickling a liver this is just very strange Morgan it seems like you have the liver of a chronic alcoholic are you telling me this is because you ate McDonald's every day for every single meal for seven days interesting and also at the end of the documentary our buddy the gastroenterologist comments on how similar his experiences to those who binge alcohol you know we see people who like go on an alcohol binge and their numbers go up like crazy but to go on you know a Mac attack and they've got numbers to show that your it attacks your liver too I would never honestly I would never I wouldn't have even thought about this but it it makes sense now that we have the data it definitely makes sense these clips I go as far as saying pretty much confirm that he is binge drinking while also eating a lot of McDonald's even though at the very beginning of the documentary he states that he doesn't drink smoke or do any kind of drug whatsoever he's not a 19th century opium demm user like maybe any alcohol use now none you don't smoke I I used to but I don't any drug use at all not for a long time are you sexually active at pris yes so yeah pretty bad and it would seem that his cancellation this year has been slowly building up with people tweeting how angry and how tricked they felt by him in this documentary this goes back as far as 2 years and it really came to a head recently and then unfortunately he died right after he died May 23rd 2024 and since then and before that people have been talking about how he just flat out lied about the damage that McDonald's did on his body when in reality it was alcohol that did a majority of that damage because alcohol is actually poison we don't need to establish that it's that's what like what getting drunk is it's getting poison you idiots it's crazy though Morgan was once hailed a hero for toppling greedy fast food taking on lobbyists I mean the true kind of like badass sort of I am a revolutionary type thing you know I am a revolutionary but he also loved the the sauce unfortunately which is bad another terrible disease people though getting a little carried away with it they are calling his death a byproduct uh of karma for lying to the US public about the effects of McDonald's on the body which I feel like it's not really that harmful to be honest it's just not healthy McDonald's is just not healthy I wonder if McDonald's is going to sue him now alcohol is bad though I mean that's 100% sure there are numerous studies that conclude that excessive alcohol use can lead to cancer there's a lot there's hundreds of that them there's a [ __ ] ton just like smoking too much same thing it's all bad for you now it is important to say that alcoholism is actually a very very very serious disease that truly does affect your brain and people who quit actual alcoholics who shake and they have all these problems and they can't function without alcohol they can't just quit they can't just quit your body releases these like weird off gassing particles and [ __ ] you have seizures you can die it's incredibly dangerous to just quit cold turkey with alcohol you can't really it's hard to detox out of a hospital to be honest it's up to look into too but I would say that more people are affected negatively with uh sugar and fast food and [ __ ] more people die from metabolic disorders than they do from from alcoholism although it is a leading a lot of people die from a lot of different things and most of those things are just because they don't enjoy things in moderation it's up so yeah it's pretty clear that Morgan struggled with this disease and it seems that people on online are overlooking the fact that you know it is actually disease and it's complicated so what everyone sort of overlooks is that it's complicated it's not that complicated that he did you know admit to sexual misconduct that's pretty up to be honest um people are more upset that he lied in the famous documentary so anyways guys Morgan Spurlock was a heroic documentarian who set out to make media that had a huge impact on whoever watched what he made in some ways he succeeded in this goal however in other ways it would seem his Integrity came into question when it meant most as of his passing his problems with alcohol have come to light and people are extremely upset with the results of what we found out here I would just say man that sucks that sucks I know alcoholics it's bad it's really rough I also know obese people that can be really bad and really rough be healthy be healthy find some friends people who love you be healthy read some books drink some water just one step at a time is all you need to do one little step at a time couple years you have a couple thousand steps it adds up I'm just saying it's real easy to do something real small even though it's seems like it's pointless it's not just one little step at a time or not
