win of the season aloha kakahiaka everybody good morning to you for Fresno State that seemed that is built our reputation on playing anybody any time at any place especially BCS teams has run into more than a bit of trouble since a valiant effort against USC last year they have won one game in nine tries and they are one and four in this season and this community is really up in arms they've been after the head coach Pat Hill they've been after the players that newspapers are rife with criticism and they face a Hawaii team that is coming in here and flying high especially Colt Brennan coming off a 419 yard performance against Nevada so I turned to rusty Amano ha Hawaii's got to be the favorite here but playing here at Fresno the last time he was on this field they lost 72 14 what about today you mentioned that Fresno State is a team with their backs against the wall it's no secret they want to shorten this ballgame they want to run it the last couple of times they face Hawaii they had running backs go over 200 yards rushing so if the key for the Hawaii defense is to stop that running aiming to stop the offense period for Fresno State and get the ball back to their high-powered offense as you mentioned in the papers all week long every article we've read but mentioned the Hawaii passing attack if Hawaii could use that and sort of use the passing game as a decoy bait the Olalla could have a big game for them he's have urging 8.2 yards per carry that's tops in the wax of Maine hello if he has a big game today that could go a long way towards Hawaii getting its first road win of the season Fresno State of course just has struggled they just have not played well and they're coming off a loss to Utah State a team that was winless before they're upset victory against Fresno State so Jim Donovan when you look at Fresno State and you look at how they are playing it's hard to believe well let me tell you Jim there's a lot of frustration and concern in the valley by Bulldog fans and most of it centers around starting quarterback Tom brand stater he's got six interceptions and five TDs and that has a lot of people calling for his backup Sean Norton a sophomore one of the things that is going well for the Bulldogs is a running game and running back Wainwright is coming off a scene serious knee injury last year and he's playing very well this year over on defense they're led by an emotional middle linebacker to Wayne Andrews and of course the guy to watch today is their cornerback mikus McCauley who's got four point three one 40-yard dash speed and I'm sure we'll be locked up against some of Hawaii's best receivers I look for these Bulldogs to come out and play pretty tough today they've been called out all week long even by some former players so look for this to be a hard-fought game far as Hoyer is concerned this is the kind of game that they rub their hands together in anticipation because Fresno State is the only team in the Steve needs to have something positive happen especially here in the early going and it just goes from bad to worse they give away the football just outside the rids on a 24 yard line well I got to tell you the Warriors two inside linebackers they're just playing fantastic filling just coming up and just laying it on the Bulldogs what a great job at inside linebacker so far today so Hawaii with a great opportunity here they put them all in play following that turnover that fumble on the 24 yard line [Applause] looky that is complete at the 15-yard line to sample and sample runs into a world giving the play is being reviewed whether the play is being reviewed whether allow WA got into the end zone I'll tell you June has a philosophy doesn't have too many running plays but the ones he has he makes the team practice over and over and over again get what he calls unconscious competency and when ll got that ball well he had wide open spaces in front of him he had one man to beat went to
