Harvestin’ Part 6. Holy Canola-e Harvest

[Music] [Music] I'm Tony fast and my family's been blessed to be able to farm in Montana for over 100 years now a lot has changed in those hundred years and it wouldn't be possible without the great team we have and blessings from our Savior Jesus Christ [Music] nope that's not weed anymore we're getting to canola now it's dry enough we're actually got a little bit of shatter happening from the wind so [Music] before before we got to run Chuck's on they've got the weed out here so let's go do something back road grading on the dump trucks again [Music] I got the trucks all dumped just about done about that field and we are gonna be moving up for my dad's field next so I'm gonna go get the bins ready get the door closed up on that one and view things all squared away there so let me move the auger up there we can just start cutting well Sam told is probably going to be horrible for this before training amazing this is the bedroom equipment canola and it has a door it's not difficult most particularly I'm adorable we're fortunately we have my proper band that we don't have to pay this for but can all those like water and can run through almost thing so to fix that with the plastic over the top here and hanging down from the door from the inside so plastics in here to the last time he's been out so just put it on [Music] wait a minute Sarah combine her tractor from spring into the cover crop we need to get these weeds killed that around here give that cover crop wicked good start good chance of growing so Aidan's putting another batch of cover crop in the drill Rob and dad and make her over a combine in and they're dumping a green card into a truck that's parked right at the auger so one guy can do that when we cut canola I gotta get at least this field it's great maybe another one before I head over there to help them combine later on they didn't put down at that field so it's going on y'all well I haven't done a lot of filming on cutting to go low because well honestly it's boring so much fluff seed so light that the combine little white seeds get hung up in the fluff of the canola and it doesn't belong to the cotton case very well so if you push too much through the rotor it goes up the back of the cop so 3 miles an hour 45 foot head that's about as fast as we go the stand is great population all emerged great I don't know if the heat cut it back on the pod fill or what the heels just aren't very good right now we're probably cut in half of what it looks like so this is our last feel this is actually split the other east side of it is ground up ready I'm hoping that we're surprised if we get into that it's a way better yield we'll see this is a non-gmo variety it's got a contract for a higher price so kind of makes it worth it plan it but it's gonna be borderline that we make any more money than what our conventional canola or you know the conventional market for the GMO you know not everybody at all so we'll see maybe tonight might be tomorrow before we getting that for the field we got a hundred twenty acres 100 acres of this field they cut till they get there so it might be right before dark or right before we shut down and I well after dark that would get into it and so we'll see good morning back in this prayer can they go spray a little far ahead of the girl this morning we did finish the non GMO canola last night ready to get into the ground of pretty stuff both of the yield goes because the disappointed so far over this non-gmo Gerard maybe it's just the year really hoping it's just a variety we're gonna like them all they've got yet and we could down with some better yields but we're seeing it so yeah [Music] and we all just move ready to comment at 7:00 tonight the next to me kill up to five inches 5 inches we do looking for a column by the third column boys for a week let alone get a dental getting no fines around our area maybe the middle of next week delays out [Music] [Applause] [Music] what what of you directly which is not too bad it's pretty cool research stuff not really sure what's gonna happen in the next week he's the best that's a girl he's so much better than Rob I know you you're cool man but well he does have about 4,000 Rob and Rob is super tracker go big day tomorrow this game [Music] four thousand acres to combine yet which is adorable for second September first consent under whatever hat so hopefully we dry out we don't get much fans are talking to up to five inches for out the next 17 so what you're like National yearly average here I used to say 10 inches to put the are like okay maybe a little more estar maybe 10 to 12 but we've got a 1086 right there it's that way crazy but you can illogical videos after this now another kind of walking and if you haven't
