Harry Higgs vs. Fore Play - One Club Challenge, 9 Iron

all right we got a 400 yard par 4 here into the wind what uh what club one club are you going to choose to try to defeat each of us so would less law like a lower club be more impressive or you know i don't know it's a different it's an interesting i hate three woods driver i think would be the most impressive because if you get close to the green that was stopping about the hit up i made it like a 100 yard shot yeah but you guys were playing the downwind hole he gave me the end of the wind hole i would i mean i'd probably feel like i should choose a four iron just hit it 200 yards twice but then if you missed the green it could get a little tough and then the putting i could putt with a four iron i mean into the wind impressive would probably be what's i'm not good at math what's 400 divided by three 120 and change somewhere in there 130 and change so probably for me impressive would be probably three nine irons because then you'd be hitting it you have to hit your third one well and i'm giving you like if i'm playing against you guys i should try to get on or around the green in two essentially i'm giving you guys a stroke if i do anything less than probably a six seven iron it sounds like a guy's talking to himself a lot right now yeah well you're making me think way harder i like to use all of my coffee yes come on i'll get 14. i literally there i can have 14. how how would you feel about nine iron i i mean i like my chances but i don't know what i'm getting into with you guys i mean it's been out here all day swinging i just took i mean i'm wearing makeup see you cheetos all in one 150 yards donating water we dropped a bunch of waters i don't know what happened i guess i think i'm getting the blame i think it was my fault you got a lot of roll here yeah now this is where it gets a little tough because now i got to leave myself one i got to miss hazards and i got to leave myself probably 140 yards it's a quick math we got like 240 i have to hit this 100 yards and straight and kind of almost up the left to give myself a little bit of an angle probably too far all right it's pretty good now i got to go watch all these guys that bomb drivers they got a leg up on me come on fellas let's get a w can't tell you how bad we need this it should be easy yeah this should be easy did it go through oh that is literally i was literally hitting a shot from a little closer in the same spot i don't know if you're too far right but there was a little gap to go like well i'm gonna left it yeah i don't know yeah it might that you look you're closer to that bush than i was you're gonna need you're gonna need to kind of piss hook it from the pine straw up and around some trees piss slice it all right trent all right anywhere left of the flag is gonna be fine because there's water right of it oh get through oh no oh no oh i could squirt it it did i i could see it i could see it i mean it's not in a good way i did i thought i got one b you checked him out i got one b pathetic heel out to the right should be another good ball yeah oh i wouldn't hate to see that i love every guy get the competitive juices going it's like amazing yeah it's uh oh we take one and beat us like all right i'm gonna oh god i need a drink after all this this is sick oh my god son the sun's been out it's been yeah it's hot like it's just hot they're touching up my makeup and all this i'm wearing makeup you're cute yeah i'm sure i look terrible right in the water all right i've got one beat and i might not have i might not have a chance on the other little eight iron right on it right oh right where i'd hit it in a tournament or i'd try at least does anybody have a rangefinder did you find one in there this is 156 right here so 65 so 210 maybe i'll give him a number yeah if i punch out i'll be three on so if i hit it on and he'll be three on also i'll probably lose that because he'll just chip it and putt it closer don't don't that might go in the hole go in the hole go i'm sorry irritation but that shot was so great it deserved more than i did very classy of you to respond great shot all right i'm probably one and two at the moment i don't know if i should hit this like full shot do a tree do the shot that makes you the most nervous that'll be awesome if it works all right frankie i need you to up do you have the gap that i had i mean i'd have to hit a miracle shot here it's much harder left-handed like i just don't know if i have it well if there's ever a time to find out like i couldn't i can go to the right of that i was right there all that was me and i went i went to the back left but i went like up and around that way i couldn't get it up and around i think you try i think you try and worst case you just flail it out to the left and you have a chance so is this a pitching wedge like so what's your thought here it's like going to the top right of that tree it's hanging yeah just like turn it to the left the wind helps you too i think yeah like just come out the end and just i think if you hit a good straight ball the wind's going to be enough that it's going to kind of bleed it left just do your best to arnie a little helicopter no if i i have to go over the thick of that in the middle of that tree yeah i mean you'd have to the right one to get it to the flag you'd have to go up and around ball's not going to curve as much off this punch put in the front or the back of your stamp back i think you have to i don't know if this is the right club i mean i think you have to air on high because if you hit in this bush it's a comically large bush air on air on high if anything missing way left is way better than right oh my god he pulled it off yeah it's at the left edge of the green are you kidding me yeah all right yeah i know that worked harry's getting right now goes are you kidding me great shot walking through the shot trying to get him to thin it into the bush and he pulled it off unbelievable ah i think this is too close yeah i hit that too hard oh yeah back flag with bunker you could hit it close to mine that'd be a good shot [Laughter] looks like it's like eight feet this tight i think the green is soft what'd you just say i think the green is soft like if i were to fly this all the way there it's just a little close for nine iron why didn't i choose wedge you ready for this boys this is going to take a herculean effort low 110. low soft cut landing at 100. too close too close too close hitting too hard too close that scared me all got to chip in that's a start that thing is ugly thick where do i go i mean through it or just like chop cut around it i definitely got that in the bag do you want me to try to like walk you through that yeah yeah okay you gotta aim way further left okay and then get the ball in the back of your stance like uncomfortably in the back okay and then have it open this way okay and then you wanna chop you wanna swing the club this way like club and head need to swing that way and don't be afraid to like almost like you're pinching the ball down into the ground okay try it all right see what goes yeah oh dude i mean that was a close out of trouble yeah you are out of trouble out of trouble that's not bad you did hit like a little bit more like the driven yeah pinch right that one i think it came up just a little bit but i mean it had the right shape and it got around the boat so your thought there is to do what where like literally chop this way and try to it's almost like it probably won't start out at that bunker but almost like at that bunker and see how much you can curve it around the country and so you're you square up the club face though no you i mean this thing is going to have to be wide open wide open probably have a little better lie than and i do think like if it just rustled around in the bushes it would be okay you needed a weight a little further left like you literally want to drive the ball into the ground wow i wish i had done that shitty bounce but that was a shitty bounce that was sick that was incredible that was you probably needed less you probably needed a 99 less loft too yeah because you're trying to literally drive it into the game right so i would have never thought to hit it that way no that was really important but i mean it was a good recovery shot for you right now let's see how your 60-yard game is yeah i think we all try literally feel like what club you have there harry i hit nine iron i think it is like well that is and it wouldn't be bad like maybe seven or eight two the higher loft the more it's gonna cut so like your six iron in theory is gonna cut more than your seven kind of thing so if you have to piss hook it it's easier to piss hook it with a nine iron versus a six iron wow back of the stance i mean oh you it doesn't matter where you aim and then dry like it's almost like left shoulder low drive your shoulder down and the club down with it and you don't have to hit it that hard because we're not going that far obviously sick wow good one wow how the hell do you do this for a left well that's the job you gotta go to the other side so i'm gonna go on this yeah i guess you know you go on that side you can it's hard to like to be able to hook it this much yeah like that you're gonna smother it into the okay perfect setup drive literally feel like yeah yeah i mean lean everything lean and just leave the face like that and they'll start a little left and shoot it out to the right he's alive yeah it should whoa we took a full golf swing yeah and we're trying to fly it over the cream but that had the motion yeah that had the motion to keep that club face open yeah i mean you can't get like if you're trying to get the ball to squirt basically out to the for you left like you can't get too far on your front foot and just have that thing open uncontrollably like that yeah but also you want to drive it down right so if you popped it up it's just going to go right in there right it's more like that would be fine and then get every i mean literally you want to hit it like that okay whether or not you stay start there or get there doesn't matter you might hit this cart sign we'll see cut this thing so don't hit that cart sign go dive so that just needs a little bit more down right like that's where you can up immediately pick the club up just a hair dry i mean seriously drive it yeah like hey like he like did fall forward all right that's difficult man yeah maybe harder for left-handed maybe harder for you too i wouldn't have even thought to do that that's how hard it is and the way you did it looked easy it should i do it all day long literally this is what i get paid to do pretty awesome it's a great gig if you can get it let me tell you they give us way too much money i mean i'm not good at generally but this round okay now well let's try to make it a little better okay get the ball a little further back in your stance okay and then it's the same thing you do not want if you so take the club don't hit the ball take the club and then swing and feel what it's like when you have the handle ahead so it kind of dig a little bit now feel maybe more neutral it almost should feel like the handle is back now take it and swing and watch how it will glide off the okay so a little further back hands a little neutral you know neutral or anything it should feel like this but then also keep that club face open okay open that face a little bit okay and then a lot of chest movement chest moves back chest moves through just kind of almost let the chest do the work okay sick that's the strike that sounds awesome so like you saw if you get those handles that handle the head it's gonna dig and there's a time when that's the right shot right but that's the strike that all of us are looking for just like a graze of the grass yeah and it's easier to do that when you're like this the clubs are made if you want to have the ball you know have the club glide across the grass it's easier to do this way than this way it's not going to glide it's going to dig gotcha and i mean strike is great you just then dial in like how hard you're supposed to hit it basically right yeah oh yeah that's the that's the clip right right just the little brush yeah usually i'm like i mean i'll do it like this like a cycle so for you when you do that like this you go your mind and body you're going to know so you're going to have to go like this right which is what i always no do never do it so if you start with a club like this you're that's going to lead to this right your mind and body are going to be right if you start here are going to want to no no i don't want to do that so you're going to come up and out of it and then i have to kind of fix it you can get left and get it open and get this way and then it just glides right across it it really does cool yeah awesome i mean it is it is and it isn't easy this is also a really hard shot that was hard yeah i'm glad i landed that really hard that's a don't well it's a good angle but don't really hit it there all right so what you're lying what three three over the back edge i got two looks at birdie i'm gonna need a good lie frankie how's your chipping you know how my chipping is well so this might be literally the time there comes a time where you are gonna have to do that right like there's no other way to do it other than leave it in there and you just have to hit it harder you have to get a lot of weight left and it's just going to have to now why do you say that here because it's because it's so well oh yeah uphill into the grain and then you found the drain like it's wet as here so this is gonna be a whole lot harder to or you would go after that like i like my practice swing i don't think there's any way to avoid that right to avoid the dig so you got to hit a lot of ball if you hit too much turf it's not going to go anywhere so i would say get a lot of weight and again like you do want to get it get that club face a little open to try to help a little bit and this one's the opposite you're going to want to just kind of deliver it like that with that clubface a little open get some weight on that front foot then just stay there and be totally fine with that club almost having no follow through lovely weight forward stay there and there's a level of trust here i mean i was i babied it well you also i was afraid a little bit more of this up and out like if you if you make the decision on a shot like this that you're not gonna have much follow through and it's gonna you gotta drive that leading edge into the ball no up no nothing all right so i just gave that too much yeah what did i do what did i do i mean you hit it you hit it solid and you hit it hard right like that was the strike i was just saying that was good that's it like so i mean yeah marry them but have that much ball stay down hit it oh man that's impossible to control the distance would you ever think about hitting like a pitching wedge or something well yes like my nine iron right here would have a better chance of gliding across the top right you did those two he goes yeah now mario but you also you also never looked up at where you wanted to land it right like and that's totally fine because we were just trying to solve right right wet right so we're trying we're literally trying to just dive it into there hope that we get enough ball you know next thing is like you literally did it exactly how i told you to twice next thing you know required it's just right right right right so don't athleticism don't slide into the water you didn't do anything wrong those the second two right this one it was a little quick what do you have i mean are you hitting four here frank yes okay yeah you just don't possess what it takes which is not your fault but and you could always putt the one that he just did like i've putted it from down there too because you know it's too easy you know it's going to get up here then you just try to judge how hard you're hitting it you know simmer down for me great putt good putt frank all right here you're back in the hole to the left i'm not out of it i might get a couple wins here how much if i hold it a good cup couple get your new bag okay not gonna make it if you don't get it there now it becomes tough very sad you better push the out oh there we go there's the aim yeah ride that fringe yeah yeah oh yeah the higher up there you hit it the more it'll break sit hard that's kind of that's got to sit hit breaks his tail the line was lovely the speed was ass the speedway great line terrible speed come on that's for what six yeah yeah if i miss then you make good run there birdie man god i'm so bad my speed control on putting greens is horrible that was terrible that's about average it's uphill into the grain hit it that's about average come on i just saw uh-oh tracking oh go in uh-oh oh no train track thank you so i'll give you that thank you sir good work we had a stick pitch there though yeah all right give us a birdie yeah you aim too far left god you guys hit the ball it's not that easy here come on it's not going to go in if you leave it it was a lag to get this all right you win though i've already hit four shots thank you math guy i needed that sorry harry oh my god oh my god not that hard wow that's a five yeah that's a five who's right at me guys you gotta make that that changes things it's slow don't leave it short you guys both got big putts now yeah i gotta i can't lose what is it what are you i stick oh god i mean this is i'll give you that 25 i'll give you that we'll call it inside i mean this is borderline good in my games yeah now do you do you like even go outside the hole on these little pants right here this putt is left center at most hit it no wimp there we go enjoy it boys always a pleasure i'm glad i won a couple of times a couple pushes well played that was some pretty sporty stuff thank you so much that was fun i mean that's what you hit seven iron out over the water that was sick you left the putt short so yeah yeah that was great he did yeah he's gotta go help this guy just act like the hunting is impossible pick a spot behind the hole i don't hate that have an idea of like just past the hole and then hit it boom center cut oh i wasn't gonna let that go in i can't let that happen i broke more at the end yeah it snapped a little bit but i don't hate taking a spot past the hole uphill ones yeah it's not a bad idea to just kind of not get your mind yeah i've never even thought about that and then if you start hammering them by then the guy will do it rain it back maybe rain it back uh that was fun man that was a blast
