HARBOR FRIEGHT Bauer 12 1/2 in. THICKNESS PLANER REVIEW....

good evening uh today i'm going to be reviewing the harbor freight bower 15 amp 12 and a half inch portable thickness planer it's got a 15 amp motor um yeah the manual crank up or down it tells you the thickness and this is what it looks like [Music] underneath i got the this is the port for the shavings to fly out of comes with a wrench or whatever an allen wrench right here there's another one underneath and if you want to change the blades out you got one here [Music] and one there it also comes with two magnets that's for when you change the blade safety first i've had my planer almost a year now i've used it quite a lot [Music] i mean i love it i mean projects that i've worked on look so much nicer and [Music] i just love it you got your power button jabrika um this thing it does have some weight on it [Music] it is about 50 60 pounds so lift with your legs and all right let me start throwing some wood through this for you all right let's put some wood in uh this machine is very loud [Music] [Music] hmm it does just come out very nice i'll show you the exhaust with uh will the chips fly out i'll show you without the vacuum on it see how they come out all right [Music] that's without a vacuum on it so put a vacuum on it already dust collector all right let me uh let me run some more wood through for you [Music] hmm [Music] dreams me this should show you how much wood is taking off onto one pass right [Music] um [Music] this is just that one time i i ran through of the planer there you see that there's a noticeable difference just just running it through one time let me throw some more wood in it all right now here is the difference uh this is historical cut piece and this um i probably took an eighth eighth of an inch off but what i'm using this for i don't need a whole lot taken off so all right so let's review whoa um when setting this up this panel and this panel needs to be level so it has two leveling screws on it one two and on this side you can see him under there he just screws down all up to level it as if it's not leveled then you'll get a snipe which it'll dig into the wood and it'll be like uh like you have like a divot and you would in that said no good it's got these fancy rollers see the thing you know it does does spit out some wood chips i mean i got a six horsepower shop vac going to it um the blades that come with it they have they shop on both sides so it literally comes with four blades i have switched them so i have gone through uh one one side of the blade but i think that was my my stupidity of not ever using a planer so we have the blades they've held up i mean i've i've did about eight to ten projects with it and would i recommend it i would i would it's a good little machine it's loud it's heavy but it does it does the job i think i picked this one up for uh 300 they had a coupon like i'm afraid always has a coupon and i'm not being paid by harbor freight but if they want i'll take some money so you know i i love it you know it's it's it's made my woodworking a lot better so all right that's about it this is the harbor freight 15 amp thickness planar i give a thumbs up [Applause] and if you like this video please subscribe and hit the like button alright take care all and stay safe
