[Music] good morning devon [Music] [Music] [Music] oh this guitar just did a powerful job yesterday [Music] studies veterinary medicine yes he don't like no titles [Music] i dance over there [Music] [Music] we would literally marry anything indians norwegians you know yeah oh uh hey happy happy presents today hey doing great praise the lord uh we had pastor howell with us and we thought we were going to have him with us and then he and then he was not feeling well and he left other other than the usual problems he having he's having he's pretty much recovered but he's uh was having an issue with his stomach how are you doing pastor fred i'm doing you know all things considered yeah living in the sin cursed world in my as yet unredeemed body i am doing well i'm surprised you know we haven't i haven't uh i don't hear you say that very often on the podcast fred is known for saying that down here um how's uh how's gwenny you know i'll say all things considered for her as well she's certainly struggling and now she's losing her hair and and going through that and i guess the the realization of what the effects of the treatment is on uh chasing down the cancer right can be pretty uh pretty dramatic but she's doing okay she suffers with some nausea and uh some fatigue and she looks she looks great though yeah you never know what would you she uh she really looks great she uh she has another uh chemo session on thursday so keep money in your prayers and then we also have uh freddie's grandbaby grandson carter who uh that's this is somebody who really we ought to keep in our prayers too this kid how old is this kid he's 12. uh going on two weeks he's gonna be 13 yeah right he uh was on a golf cart fell off hit his head on some concrete i guess had some brain bleed yeah it cracked cracked his skull right right above the right around this portion of his skull which happens to be where the nerve that controls the left side of his face comes through and he spent about 24 hours in a coma right and he woke up from that and he's been recovering you know from for the most part um i.e thinking they don't think the paralysis is going to be permanent but nobody knows but he is involved in physical therapy now to get that corrected um and i'd say keep uh hal in your prayers especially maryland i i fear maryland probably having to put up with a sick house she's got her hands full man i think you ought to go through and clear out all the weapons because somebody's gonna die oh man that was brutal uh we had and you know ever since we started the podcast i think we were praying for randy and ellen's son peter i don't remember ever not praying for him and um he uh he got some bad news with respect to cancer also so we need to keep him in our prayers um you know so for uh president's day i thought there's a lot of stuff we could talk about um i've got an article that says uh stop finding your identity in christ so i'll read that just to get fred's reaction to it i can probably give it to you it'll be pretty epic i got a word for it um yeah balderdale uh and uh so i don't know for president's day i thought well maybe we'll just consider uh first timothy two one and two you know uh i i wouldn't uh go through the history of christian presidents and somehow lift them all up as being models for us to uh to look up to because ain't none of them were yeah although i do i am proud of my forefather rutherford b hayes who basically became president and accomplished nothing that's my favorite thing about it is i'd rather somebody accomplish nothing than expand you know federal powers he got up there he he installed a telephone in the white house had some women on his cabinet which was rather progressive for the time and then he actually out went out west that was all my forefather did um first timothy two one and two for president's day paul writes i exhort therefore that first of all supplications prayers intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men four kings all men right for kings and for all that are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty now all right let me ask you a question fred do you think that if we were to pray to to god four kings and all that are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life do you think it means that somebody like okay i won't name names but some tyrant leader of a free world would change his mind and suddenly allow all of us christians to live in peace and you know maybe pass some legislation he'll he'll force that that tyrant to pass legislation that will enable us to live in peace i wish we we could say that but uh you know but then we we would be wrong right i think it is you know i think the old timers they really had a hand on prayer and the old-timers used to say you know pray in believing but then foot put feats to your prayers right and so it's the people who and how do we how do the people really govern they govern in the election they govern the in the poll booths when they go and pull the livers or check the boxes that's the way we get the right people with the right message with the right agenda now i i you know um is that radical or not that's uh that's that's not bad uh but i think you see when and i think and i made this case in the book that these two verses i think are absolutely together and they're one thought yeah you know you can't have this verse two about kings and all in authority without verse one and too often you know i think too many pastors they isolate that second verse and they quote verse 2 about prayer for kings out of context and then you get this you arrive at this kind of incorrect conclusion without the context of the verse and i you know paul starts by saying i exhort therefore everything he wrote in the in chapter one led up to that point pray in all circumstances pray and so his exhortation here is first of all supplication prayers intercessions and giving of thanks can you name the differences between uh those i mean giving of thanks that doesn't need explanation but supplications making requests for yourself prayers uh how would you define prayer would you say communion with god yeah prayer is just expression sharing with god your thoughts that's right that's right uh in intercessions uh would i be correct in thinking that that is making requests for others i think so and that's when you know people especially in gray circles i think prayer is that we say it many many times taking such a bad rap right paul says all in several places pray for others and again what do we expect it's not that god doesn't want us to pray or that prayers aren't necessary or don't help but we just need to boil down is it what exactly are we thinking that god will do right and he says here and giving of thanks be made for all men for kings and for all that are in authority you know that that whole that that the the point there is the giving of the thanks be made for all men right and the bad men the people that are your enemies and then he goes into reminding you all men would include kings and those that are in authority because we probably wouldn't think to include that because we don't know kings and we don't know authorities can you know confine our prayer requests to those that we actually do know but he wants us to be thankful for all men including presidents and who was in power in those days in paul's life some guy named nero nero yeah god you're going to have him killed the man who actually orchestrated his death all right uh facilitate you know paul was to be thankful for that man and he was writing to timothy timothy who at the time you had the fulfillment of everything that paul said would be taking place in acts 20 when he told him about the told the elders about the grievous wolves in his assembly you know the men that would rise up uh in his congregation speaking perverse doctrines to create followers after themselves he you know and then you also have the in his church in ephesus the judaizers he talked about him in first timothy one the the judaizers who wanted to it wanted everybody to go back under the law of all things these people who talked about fables and genealogies and less genie endless genealogies like rutherford hayes way back and then and then he was to be thankful for all these people that hated him and dismissed him because of his youth you know timothy was to be thankful for all men and that and yet it expanded well beyond all the awful people he had in his assembly to include not just that but nero and all these corrupt officials in in the local province and also federal all men all those who are in authority he was to be thankful for him and that's the point of that verse thankful but thankful there is um there is an aspect about this verse and i don't even remember uh where i picked this up but somebody somewhere for who you stole it from yeah exactly i have no idea who i stole it from i got the i was studying this uh these verses while preparing while i was going through first and second timothy and somebody somewhere had just basically made the point that what's the at the heart of these verses is that is that this these verses are all about modeling grace in your thinking in your prayer life you're exhibiting grace in your prayer life by being thankful for all the bad people that you have in your life that's grace in your prayer life you know exhibiting grace in our attitudes and our prayers to god when we talk with him about everyone we know and even the people we don't know the kings and those that are in authority acting with grace in our prayers to god amen by expressing a sincere gratitude for even the worst enemies in our lives uh this this grace in our thinking this is this is this is grace that's in our thinking and in our request to god that just rises above any difficult circumstances we may we might find ourselves in this is grace in our prayers that transcends the circumstances us exhibiting grace to god in prayer regardless of the circumstances us wanting grace for everyone in all circumstances amen you know maybe maybe you've noticed in your prayer life um i pray for people that disagree with me and that are we have some anger issues going along between the two but i don't and i pray for them but not with the same gusto uh yeah i i totally understand that but at the same time uh the i i i love that thought there and it that thought totally transformed my own prayer life amen because it was so very self-centered uh when i first fell and came back to the lord and now it's i want grace for everybody kind of attitude when i pray i want good things to happen to everybody if at all possible and uh and i just i love i love that point and i think you know that point is that it was everything i i ever was before i wasn't before i came back to the lord you know and i was just struck by the beauty of the grace life that god would have us live and how much higher his ways are than our ways because grace in our prayers about all the people in our lives becomes grace in our attitude toward them in real life and living with that degree of grace in your mentality i think becomes the most satisfying life you can possibly live if you if you are operating with that kind of grace mentality in your thinking and i i just i think that's just absolutely completely and totally epic i think that's just completely awesome and you know one of the um because just transitioning when when i read in the verse two for kings and for all that are in authority right i you know it wouldn't surprise me some believers would say you got to be kidding pray for those guys too right right and uh but look at the look at what paul wants us to do that we may lead a quiet and peaceful right right and this would uh this one and i to me i and you you tell me what you think but to me the great cross-reference to that whole thought of us leading a quiet and peaceable life would have to be romans 12 18. yeah you know the uh you know where paul says if it be possible as much as lieth in you live peaceably with all men we will never as long as we're preaching the gospel standing for the truth of god rightly divided preaching jesus christ according to revelation history preach it brother there will be people who will stand against it right uh denominationalism i mean uh i think one of the the greatest uh denominations that we we don't attack head on so much but who goes completely contrary would be presbyterians or are the charismatics i mean we stand against that doctrine we preach against that doctrine and if you think that they aren't going to have some pushback right we're fooling ourselves but when they put if we need to i mean if we ever want to model grace in the dispensation of grace we need to learn how to make sure we're preaching the truth in love right and when the pushback comes deal with it in grace right totally totally um you know and i i mean for me uh you know that verse in romans 12 18 if it be possible as much as lieth in you live peaceably with all men there are no guarantees to peace with all men and paul only says in that verse if it be possible you know the paul does not say to rely on the expectation of divine intervention and external circumstances the emphasis in that in that verse is on as much as lieth in you so when it talks about you know giving thanks for all men which would include kings and those in our authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life it's our attitude of thankfulness about those people even those people who are enemies to us that enables us to be empowered somewhat if you if you if you could say to be able to be at peace with them if you're thankful for them you're more likely to be at peace with them and it helps you to as much as lieth in you be able to live peaceably including those that are in authority yeah i look at that phrase as much as life than you and my question is does it if there be there for any consolation of christ if there'll be any comfort are there absolutely it does lie within us the thing we need to learn how to do many many times is don't expect something else god to do something else for you that he's already done we just need to learn how to let let it happen yeah what what lieth in us the entire godhead yeah that reminds me of ephesians 3 20. you know god who's able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we have before that we're into the power that worketh in us right right i never never believed because we live in the dispensation of grace that god has not given us power but i mean he's given us ability he's give he's enabled us and you know we just uh i think that that just all works towards our understanding of what it means to be have the life of christ in us right there's no downside to that there's no weakness to that there's no shortcomings to that it is all-powerful it overcame the death and the penalty of sin in his life that life lives in us today this is the grace life podcast oh i'm glad we finally got started we are your mad bad brothers in christ [Applause] mid acts dispensational bad in the sense of blessed and delivered i'm some guy named joel this is pastor freddy bear boo boo booger becca meyer boo boo booger although cynthia um does not like that at all it doesn't like freddy baby she doesn't like freddie bear and she surely isn't gonna like boo boo she's my mother-in-law so there's we got to somehow build a treaty and a bridge between that because i i told her i said you know freddie bear uh that's who i am and i think it's uh and and i i'm i'm glad with that name uh i think it would be very stale and just not a really a representative of who i am to call me fred fred can i call you bishop fred no i don't it's biblical but it has a little too much uh yeah denominational yeah the world really screwed that word up dude they did they've been in a really nice word yeah beautiful work um the uh so we've got uh we're just your flight attendants here on flight 777. titus 213 airlines ready for takeoff at a moment's notice and i'll be shocked if it doesn't take off today uh uh we got a bunch of links beneath the video you got to check it out we've got um all kinds of goodies uh we've um there's uh a couple of articles if we get right get some time we may talk about moses and the law is uh stem the uh coffin of the covenant is uh stem in a big article they put out by the bearing bible study put out by stamp uh brian and becky have a new podcast a new ish a new episode of their podcast uh on yielding to our new identity in christ and coincidentally there was a new article that came out bashing our identity in christ i'm going to get fred's reaction to that um the uh there's all kinds of goodies too beneath that there's some uh i'm comforted that the article i wasn't going to combat was the one that came out by brian and becky yeah right right um yeah i thought man you set me up for that we've got we i've got linked to fred talking about dead descent yesterday we had wow we had a member of uh one of the founding members of our church i think uh bernard myers who is a veterinarian and uh been in grace uh about as long as i've been around and uh he is uh he did a phenomenal message yesterday on the compassion for the poor i thought that thing was just epic um i hope it goes viral the uh and we've got links to all kinds of other goodies uh in grace uh there's a whole world of grace out there so check it all out uh i gotta see who's in the house how you guys doing man we got some people 24 um yeah i figured we'd be a little low on uh uh hey we got dan the man in the house and thank you dan the man for coming on board dan says happy observance of the holy day of presidents right uh you know president's day i was i was reading up on it this morning uh president's day is you know of course it's washington's birthday monday february 21st it's a day dedicated to celebrating all u.s presidents past and present the holiday was originally established in 1885 to celebrate george washington's birthday after his death the day became known as president's day when it became part of the 1971 uniform monday holiday act which was of course an attempt to create more three-day weekends for federal employees there you go [Laughter] i'm going to leave it up then with creating holidays i mean because we'll certainly get more than if we were to petition for something uh of course the uh this is why all the federal stuff and the post office is usually closed banks are usually closed today too um the uh it's awesome to see you man how you doing how's the how's the gentile puppy how's the beard how's the grace believing wife i hope you're doing great how's the big tv working is it still working well uh hey we got devin in the house how you doing man damon awesome to see you bob picard your beautiful brother uh i wonder what bob was up to yesterday did you look yeah he's talking about um storms um no it was a shelter in a time of storm shelter in the time i think he was in acts 26 maybe when paul was shipwrecked for small ship yep yeah i think i think it was acts 26 uh it sounds like sounds like a great message to me yeah that's a great section to talk about bob picard says happy presidents day to everyone happy president's day to you man how are you paul nichols is here it's good to see you virginia no way awesome having you that's fantastic uh great great great to have you here truly is i hope you're doing well i really do um dan's talking about dive music hey we got our mad bad back brother out there in utah mr chris nelson how are you he says great mor good morning sane snowy day here today love you all um oh is it snowing here no i i think every time i react with a weather update about florida people are like really you're gonna i won't tell you what the weather is you're gonna go there no we're just going there we got one word beautiful shorts shorts christopher says i've started uh saying the same thing fred good as can be expected within yet unredeemed body living in a sin cursed world that's yet yeah that is and you can anybody anywhere any place anytime can use it right right just send me a quarter um and the folks here are saying that they will uh pray for your gran grandbaby thank you uh we got jones in the house good to see you jones says that would be great if we if we could be sure that votes wouldn't be manipulated right yeah right yep hey cliff matthews is in the house my dear brother steve rugged cliff how are you deep rugged karen says prayers for truth to be revealed and the word to have free course totally that's one of the greatest ones that's one of the best things paul said is that the word would have free course it is of course even if it didn't wasn't given free course it is god's unbound book and it and it will it will not be bound and it will not return to a void that's right that's the best thing i think romans 8 can can help bring out there's not anything we can do that's going to sort the overall will of god right but the overriding thing our part in it is to see all men be saved and come into the knowledge of the truth right dan says trump is elected that will be his last term it's the last trump [Laughter] uh bob picard says a regular prayer i have about the government is just leave me alone amen yep yep yeah i can identify with that prayer and there is a prayer in proverbs i remember seeing bumper stickers of it where you could and where they pray for the removal of a king or something and they're like well it's biblical yeah it's biblical but not necessarily dispensational let me let me see do we have a king no um and they had their ways of removing kings and time passed douglas graham says hi y'all joel fred those uh online first timothy two one and two i find difficult to pray especially in today's situation you just imagine you know what we're going through the pales in comparison to what paul and timothy went through absolutely after paul had been martyred literally 300 years of persecution of the christians and the jews in the roman empire i mean you have generation after generation of nothing but persecution all they have known all their lives is persecution with no relief in sight i think about the north koreans having to pray for their their guy oh totally and i think about uh praying for hitler in uh in nazi germany right can you imagine praying for a guy like idi i mean right right or alexander the great i mean wow right right um but there were absolutely no exceptions and so i like uh prayer we just heard it just just just don't hurt me right you know leave me alone but there you know once again we just praise the lord for where we live uh as bad as things are they hold not a candle and how is it that you would have if you were to ever meet somebody that monstrous and have an open door to get his ear to actually listen to the gospel it would first words i'm you know i pray for you and i'm thankful for you which would be quite the ironic thing to say if uh he has been persecuting believers you know and god loves that'll get his ear real quick oh um if he doesn't get yours he'll you may get his yeah but hey we got to we got gerard long in the house how are you man he says toe row row row row row t all in peace from god the father and our lord jesus christ greetings saints of the most high prayer sent thank you very much thank you brother a five-row day is a good day uh cliff matthew says we're hovering around 35 degrees today let me say that again 35 degrees today the big fear i have this week is basement flooding i have four feet of snow in my yard so mop it all up oh man uh check that off is one more thing we don't worry about uh snow frank leduc says uh he points out ii thessalonians 3 2. well let's just get over there 2nd thessalonians 3 2 and he says paul also prays for us to be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men that's right um so let me let me read this verse here ii thessalonians 3 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men for all men have not faith uh he before that he says finally brethren pray for us that the word of the lord may have free course and be glorified even as it is with you and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men so all right if you are in the hands of unreasonable and wicked men you're living in north korea you've been abducted because of your faith thrown into prison all this horrible stuff uh would it be a perfectly acceptable prayer today to say to ask that that person be delivered from these those unreasonable and wicked men i think it'd be a perfect prayer to play pray i mean although we know god's not going to be the one that elects somebody but if we pray those things if we unite with those around it which could cause to your life with uniting with others of like precious faith but i think it's an absolutely inappropriate prayer because the at the question would be that they fall under praying for everything the question there isn't you know divine intervention the question is just the means of the deliverance and i hope that that will uh get him get that person out so i doubt you could even pray that audibly right i mean somebody's gonna be listening and somebody's gonna be you know executing their form of justice but i mean prayer if we understand its design is designed to build hope if you have paul in let's say in prison and he is surrounded by wicked men including unbelieving roman authorities and he is doing what he has been commanded to do which is to show love to all those people share with them the gospel tell them he's praying for them all that stuff um help them to get saved in the knowledge of their savior do you think those men might be more inclined to help paul be released after their conversion you know yes uh that that well that that mean that that means by which they he could be delivered uh would be something that you could totally pray for yeah i think you can and you know oftentimes our we don't see any ants or realization or prayers immediate right but it's over time as this guy learns what's on your heart you learn with his heart and the word spreads that way but you know rejoicing as the flipping jail rejoiced i mean you've got examples like that and and the main thing when paul got before um what was the guy's name the roman governor his wife jewish jewish are you talking about uh herod and salami no no no no no that's your example no that's uh justin or no agrippa and agrippa okay and and one's like that what paul do right he didn't believe he didn't plead for his life gave the gospel defended his innocence and gave the gospel and he was almost persuaded uh what those will be words that will haunt him for all eternity if he didn't later accept christ you know can you imagine almost persuaded and then all of eternity that's going to haunt you forever i would i would you know i read that and of course i have a fairly vivid imagination and i think was was he so proud that he couldn't really admit oh yeah that he was persuaded but he couldn't admit it yeah and so he really was fortunate right so he lied and said i'm almost done and we see him in heaven we can call him yeah yeah you know and even uh you know and i know that there is in uh grace uh distinction you know camps that are more pro-intervention and and those who are not but on in on both levels you have to admit that their the god does not betray the free will of man i think both everybody in grace would at least agree to that god has never betrayed the free will of man when he never hardened pharaoh's heart it was only him doing things where heart where pharaoh would react how to make a decision pharaoh was the one who allowed his own heart to be hardened not that god forcibly hardened his heart um so you have to admit that god does not betray the free will of man only the calvinist would advocate that and and uh and if you're going down that path you're really in a lot of trouble and that's why i love to to read that story about herod i mean you you read you read and it sounds if you don't read it all the way to the end it sounds like god is the one that's hardening pharaoh's heart but then when you get down to the end it said pharaoh hard in his own heart and he and we know how he did it was just by rejection his reaction to the truth and and that's some of the miracles that's exactly why people will go to hell today regardless that the sins had been paid for right because they just continue to harden their own heart to the issues of the gospel dan says boo boo the key is mother in law they hate that we are not under the law yeah all right you know for the first few years gwen and i's marriage and even dating it was a mother in law it took her under law under the law yeah it took her a few years to warm up to me the i can't imagine actually um uh hey we got amy stewart in the house awesome to see you hey we got brian ross here hey brian hey says uh hi guys day off today whoa fantastic man i don't have any good brian ross stories to tell but we thank you for spending it with us right right you just made joel so much more nervous uh exactly exactly uh that beautiful beautiful brother whom i love dearly um we're trying to talk him into uh coming down here for uh november december whenever his uh winter break is and see if we can get him to hang with us down here that'd be a huge amount of fun and um uh franklin do uh maybe we could even go on a deep sea fishing trip yeah frankly do i it's just hi dan been sick temp was 86 so you're telling me you've been sick well i mean you have always struggling struggled with some issues we will absolutely keep you in our prayers what a faithful man though i mean as physically and a as challenged as frank can be sometimes he is so faithful dan says the gentile puppy is still asleep in her cage uh dan says uh right dividing wife still asleep also happy life all around uh that's gonna that's gonna appear somewhere and you'll be requested money to keep it from being sent i'm an only child and uh i've you know i lived for you know times where i could be alone and do my own thing and uh mike left to be with the family and i don't know now i'm starting to have abandonment issues with mike uh but because he takes his dog yeah but mike's out of the hospital he uh and he's doing okay he had a an infection a viral some sort of infection in his tract and they gave him some antibiotics and stuff and he's he's a little at times from the drugs he's a little loopy which is kind of hilarious because he'll be all over the map uh but uh but you know he's he's he seems to be doing really well and he um he is uh gonna be with family a little bit uh so yeah he was here yesterday it was a we had a great day a great day of fellowship yesterday i had uh uh i have okay so i had i had over the course of the weekend proof read literally a hundred thousand words i had uh i proofread the brandy gave me a sample a pdf of the book so i proofread that thursday and friday i got done with a hundred thousand no that was uh that's uh 69 000.69 so then i uh so then i was hugely motivated and i worked um all day saturday on uh the sequel uh which i'm still working on and that's uh it's up to twenty six thousand words now and the sequel is gonna be called part i don't have a title yet and uh and then uh and then i had to put together an article for supply of grace which was another three thousand thirty three hundred words which will be published tomorrow on uh seven principles of forgiveness um so i literally went through a hundred thousand words and by the time i was done last night my eyeballs were about to pop out of my head and i think they still are i uh yeah i think i thought you're mad i'm gonna take me uh take me a little break today but oh well we had an excellent rest yesterday afternoon so uh you were working and i was resting but let me know that i didn't rush what are some of what are three of the seven i don't remember i'd have to look it up i have a whole how paragraph in there uh the uh seven principles of forgiveness was um uh well because i read an art i just want to see how close it was to this and i read an article uh or paper uh 30 years ago now maybe maybe even longer that said [Music] that this person would not forgive until you did this this this this this right this right right i know i know a pastor who does that very thing which drives me up the wall and my point was really what if somebody did all ten yeah would you really yeah heal them i have one paragraph where i say i very much love pastor hal beckemeier's teaching on forgiveness he says forgiveness should be a matter of autoflush like a commode that fleshes automatically yes i'm serious that's what hal teaches why is why is unforgiveness like a stinking turd it is it sure is but forgiveness should always be automatic and flushed out of your system for your own good and yes i wrote stinking turd in a grace article sue me [Laughter] thank you for having me i'll have to move on somewhere else now uh but uh that was under the uh forgiveness is essential to the restoration of a believer overtaken in a fault who has repented so he will not drown in sorrow of course you're talking about second corinthians there's two second corinthians two and the boy that was uh sleeping with his stepmother my favorite one on the list um is micromanagement forgiveness does not require micro this and i what i did was there were there were nine references only nine references to forgiveness in paul's epistles and after having gone through all nine of those references there i noticed that he had base seven basic principles on forgiveness and one of those principles is um uh uh oh i just lost it the one about sarcasm which was my favorite um uh uh even an apostle isn't above apologizing for the slightest infraction in the and uh so and that's second corinthians 12 11-13 where he says i am become a fool and glory ye have compelled me for i ought to have been commended of you for in nothing am i behind the very chiefest apostles though i be nothing truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience in signs and wonders and mighty deeds for what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches except it be that i myself was not burdensome to you forgive me this wrong now he says you know he says and so he says he says what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches except it be that i myself was not burdensome to you forgive me this wrong what's he saying there and a lot of commentaries suggest that paul is being hugely sarcastic which i totally agree and i absolutely love sarcasm is not a sin praise the lord amen neither is uh something without convenience ellen hersey is already typing up a text don't you say don't you don't you validate sarcasm but i think i think paul there may have been talking about money the the correct song the corinthians are not you know they were not inferior to other churches in the sense that they weren't blessed inequitably compared to all the other churches so at corinth as everywhere else you know paul wrought among them all the signs of an apostle in all patience and signs and wonders and mighty deeds they were taught all the same doctrines of grace they were not inferior to any other church they weren't lacking in any way by how paul had established their church the only difference had to do with money you know even though they were wealthy paul went out of his way to not be a financial burden to them so he wanted them to know that his ministry was not about taking their money so the only possible complaint that could be made about how paul established their church was that was in the fact that he practically denied them the the privilege of financially supporting his ministry and for that he apologized and sarcastically you got sarcasm here you betcha i love these verses praise the lord for sarcasm and yet even an apostle isn't above apologizing with sarcasm for even the slightest infraction praise the lord well i i think you know sometimes it's it's with effect and uh what you want to do but yeah a little known fact that even during his uh paul's apostleship he was a fisherman uh secondary issue was he's a tempt maker he uh that was a mistake fred make and i'm like what oh can you show me where in my bible it says he's a fisherman just the wrong word came out happening that was all it happened yeah yeah pastor jordan always taught that if you you know the only way not to make a mistake is not to speak but paul but paul i mean how did he not become burdensome right he continued to work he and he refused to take didn't want to take their money i've had uh i've had many years ago an elder point out to me that maybe i should consider to do the same talking and um but uh you know that i should i that nobody should receive uh compensation for what they do for the ministry but you know an interesting thought i think is a sideline to that what does that say about the twelve apostles right if paul wasn't a burden because he worked what does that say about the other well the twelve apostles didn't have to worry about it because the father would grant them he would he knew what their needs would be and he would miraculously take care of him right yeah right that was to come right so it meant that they they they were willfully willing the the people were willingly to take care of the apostles right but paul's and that's another distinction because you want to say which was the only apostle that continued to keep himself separate like that from right and there's there's a distinction that right the apostle of grace did and and the whole idea you mentioned it the kingdom program what were they expecting right they were expecting the kingdom to come and as bernard said yesterday they they sold all they had they gave it all to the poor they they and they laid it at the apostles feet and and so there became a group known affectionately by the way as the poor saints at jerusalem uh cliff matthews says uh the other attempt is that those in christ are going home soon veles lets me know about the protests but i find it unsettling to watch my country tear itself apart totally yeah yeah totally it's a total it's an awful thing it's awful thing all around the whole thing um and i know it's uh gotta be upsetting but i would you know i think for us you know for us believers i mean members of the body of christ um you know as awful as that is i think for all of us it's just an opportunity you've used things like that as an opportunity to share the gospel and make sure they are reconciled to god before god only knows what might happen there's all kinds of awful stuff out there on the horizon right now all this talk about war you got all these this tyranny going on around the globe you've got literally in the middle east the slaughtering of christians with and that's going on in north korea and china's got its own nasty things going on we know very little about what's going on right totally exactly you've also got the you know all this stuff about jabs mandates and uh and you have concerns about the supply chain i you know it's the list is endless but yet where is your ho you know the the question for unbelievers is where's your hope if things were to get really bad and you and you were to die do you know where you're going to spend the rest of eternity amen you know um in fact awful circumstances like this like these uh make the harvest ripe for souls and uh and i know i mentioned this a couple of times before but i you know i still recall the american missionaries in the ukraine that uh had you know there were two different articles about two different missionaries and i don't know what gospel it is that they preach but you know they both made the case well right now you know you would never tell that there is the possibility of war you know you see the children out there in the playgrounds having fun and it's all is peaceful and quiet and everything but the one big difference is the ukrainians are coming to the lord in droves you know with the prospect of actual death on the horizon they are coming to the lord in droves and they're like we can't we can't we don't have enough room for all these people that are now coming for bible studies and stuff which i find which i find absolutely amazing so we praise the lord for that and we don't know what gospels are preaching right but i i would suspect it's it's uh probably out of acts chapter two right in some faith but that still focuses on you know the way that we or many believers focus on acts chapter two today uh i i'm comforted by the fact that many people who believe the church started in acts chapter 2 give a gospel that they get from the apostle paul i can't hear somebody mention acts 2 without hearing in my head carl singing that be berean song saying acts 2 ain't about you ain't about you it ain't about me it's it's good jewish territory it's a good thing to finally get something to replace on some of the other books and things that we've had in the past right but i would just just view everything as an opportunity uh to get souls saved and perhaps even saints edified uh and and you know you and we of course we made this point many times before too the the the last days of grace what are the marching orders that paul gave us in the last days of grace we have we have perilous times in the last days and the marching orders is do the work of an evangelist do the work the word be instant in season out of season reprove rebuke exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine these saints so that these people might be saved because you don't know how much time we have left the lord is literally at hand um so uh let's see here we got uh we got gerard uh saying hello to all uh to brian greetings and prayers from the kingdom of the netherlands something he's speaking in the tongues and then he says i shall maintain that's right i shall not be i shall not be moved gerard says talking about storms we have had the three big ones in a row a lot of damage here in the netherlands i had to do some yard work and repairs and insurance stuff no kidding oh no kidding um well you know what i don't mind keeping you in our prayers no as long as you keep the beard that's all that matters you get rid of the beard i'll stop praying for you joan says the uh the giggs the man that won't really grow one over half an inch saying the guy who won't grow his beard over half an inch yeah he keeps it well trimmed and it's beautiful uh frank ladue says we are in a winter storm 12 to 15 inches of snow about 12 degrees holy smokes goodness gracious oh it's a it's a warm front going through frank's place 12 degrees uh dan says joel i think there is a song about almost persuader i think there's a song somewhere about mad bad you know i have a perfect line for it i have the uh you know never i felt so happy to be so mad and it never felt so good to be so bad that sounds like it belongs in a country song or a good rock song you know like you know i realize why i was sick the other day it was all that acid rock talk we had on the on the podcast gerard says uh roofing tiles broken many trees throughout the country down last time we had such a storm was four years ago no kidding cliff matthews says my ivelus is really paying attention to the protests here she says she still has ptsd from growing up in cuba so this makes her agitated to watch all uh political parties just roll over and play dead um yeah many many forget when castro came and had the rebellion and the takeover of batista right the question we would all ask ourselves about any all the terrible things going on in the world where's your mind are you seeing it all through a proper spiritual perspective like the apostle paul did even before he was martyred you remember you know when he was uh arrested for a crime he didn't commit falsely accused all men abandoned him except the lord jesus christ he stood before nero and what did he do that the preaching by me might be fully known that he was the lord stood with him to strengthen him to do what to give the gospel to the very men who had outlawed the gospel and the point was you know was not the political environment that was surrounding him the tyranny of the emperor of rome it wasn't the loss of civil liberties the fact that you know you've already had a number of years in which they after they had abandoned the uh uh the constitutional republic that they used to have with that julius caesar himself completely destroyed he didn't think about all those things he thought he stayed focused on the gospel he stayed focused on giving the gospel to the people he knew because what's more important you know being able to have uh to fight for civil liberties which may or may not last maybe what a hundred years before they take it away again or to give somebody the free gift of eternal life and eternal life with god you know it would be great to take some people out with us yes i think the apostle paul when he wrote romans chapter 8 to me it's it's a great thing how persuaded do we need to be and in romans 8 verse 38 for i am persuaded right that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of god which is in christ jesus our lord amen but here's a question i don't know he mentions angels in 38 and 39 he means and he says any other creature right right i don't know is there some other kind of creature that exists in the heavenly system or in heaven that we may not know about that we'll you know we'll discover when we get up there the flaming horses maybe is what he's talking about doesn't heaven have it doesn't doesn't heaven have flaming horses of fire maybe that's what he's talking about but it's been an interesting thought and any other cr what paul's just saying if there is anything else right right not that there are but that if there are right that uh they won't separate us from and the point is can they here's the hope of the believer no they can't it doesn't matter what they bring because it's the lord jesus christ and god the father accepts this payment the christ made the payment and then they just say would you believe it i love that you're tempted you're tempting me to to go off on that those verses literally some of the most epic verses i'm going to move on to bob picard here bob picard says hardening and blinding our two rails on the same track yeah both are caused through the deception of the enemy in the world exactly i love that man yeah that's a great great point gerard says about 30 miles inwards from the north coast um interesting uh um dan said praise the lord for mikey mike's recovery yes praise the lord indeed mike he's still uh there's two things still on the horizon for him i don't his back is doing better so he may or may not still get the shot in the back but for him he uh still has a stint that's going to be put in in his heart uh sometime in march i think perhaps toward the end of march uh so there are still things to pray about with with mike we're going to change our name again bad back heart stint fellowship bible church yep uh cause we got some a lot of people several people with stints now dan says grace allows stinky turd words [Laughter] how says joel i mean uh dan's just trying to say man i wish i'd have thought of that uh hal beckemeier says forgiveness is to be automatic and instantaneous amen thank you pastor howell amen but i'm not revising my uh my my article now that you don't know i'm too tired to do any more rewrites jones says while i agree 100 with that how i find that in my own case it is not so 100 of the time well you know i don't want to be cruel or insensitive because it happens to all of us that's a choice right that's exactly it's and uh and you know you consider the fact um you determine you're the one that determines how much you're going to flush is it going to be a single flush or is it going to be a double flush oh man you know thank you jones i appreciate that you know you know there's i think probably the most convicting verse to me about that whole topic would ha still has to be the most famous one ephesians 4 32 you know be kind one another tenderhearted for giving one another even as god for christ's sake hath forgiven you you know and i've always you know we we have we have often brought up the fact that that verse for me has always been convicting you know you're gonna you're gonna sit there and be all you know uh you know iffy about forgiving someone else do you remember all the stuff that you did and you remember the fact that god forgave you and this but the thing that get and that always convicted me for years that you know okay you're right i'm i'm no better than anybody else i have no right to have some uh pompous judgmental attitude about a wrong somebody else did when you when i think about all the wrongs i've done that's right um but on the other hand the thing that gets me about that verse now and i'm sure there'll be something different years from now but the thing that gets me about that verse now is that god for christ's sake hath forgiven you christ right he didn't forgive you for your sake forgave you for christ's sake right not only did the father automatically forgive you despite what you did but he forgave you for christ's sake which means that the the father forgave you automatically for his son's sake amen because it was his son that went through the shame the agony the the torture of that death on the cross for all of our sins right so god forgave us forgave you automatically for his son's sake because he'll never betray his son the son's work was so perfect he'll never betray the love that his son showed you on that cross it's for his son's sake that he will never betray the perfection of what he accomplished at calvary thus we would also have to forgive others for christ's sake as well because of what he accomplished on that cross why he accomplished it the perfection of what he accomplished it is for his sake and the in the fact that we would forgive for christ's sake would would smear especially with unbelievers would point the way to christ himself amen you know what one thing i get out of that verse is if it were for had any part to do with our sake right we would have been forgiven because it would be better to chastise us in order to improve our behavior right then there's nothing we could offer to god for forgiveness so there it had to go out of the realm of what we could bring to it and what christ did right um that's it jones and let me tell you it's easy to preach and hard to do i mean there are some things that happen that are absolutely so infuriating you just like ah really um but at some point you have to you have to bring yourself to that point of forgiveness um i think house is so you've got to you've got to get yourself in the hat it's not something you can do easily but you got to get yourself in that habit of forgiving automatically and yet it's not hard to do doesn't mean that you have to forget what they've done no doesn't mean that you have to trust them con you have to continue to trust them there are people who have misbehaved i've forgiven them but that doesn't mean i trust them you know there's a big difference there uh and yeah that we're we're not taught to you know let your guard down right right you know and to let uh somebody continually make do the same thing to you god makes us no forgivers allows us to be forgivers he doesn't make us forgetters and uh you know i've said it before i used to go round and round with a with a guy over that right you know the and and you know you think of like for example that story of esau for giving jacob after stole his birthright you remember you had in genesis 33 esau had 400 men with him ready to take him out he was so mad about that and i don't blame him for being mad i'd be mad too but when he saw his brother bow to him repeatedly in humility esau forgave him and you had in genesis 33 4 and esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him and they wept and the point we would make about that story is that you know forgiveness doesn't necessarily exonerate the perpetrator but it liberates the victim imprisoned in a cage of bitterness and resentment forgiveness sets the prisoner free and that prisoner is you amen i remember uh when we first started uh the podcast our my mad bad brother mike moriarty one of my favorite lines he ever gave about forgiveness i had i loved it i had to write it down and i still use it he said forgiveness is like having a hole in your roof it just keeps raining on you until it gets fit until you get it fixed [Laughter] that's that's that's so true that's just so true i tell you if you've never had the opportunity to go door-to-door with mike moriarty uh and those days are over for us but what a blessing it was to go door-to-door with mike it was a hoot we enjoyed it we saw so so saved right bob picard says amen how it should be the default setting for the believer amy stewart says auto flush that's right it's like you it's like your uh your toilet has a a sensor on it as soon as you some of them exist as soon as you get up it just automatically flies you don't even have to push the lever down it's automatic dan says it can be tribulation for us jones but it can become easier with practice amen it's a lovely point it is and it is great not to trivialize anything not to simplify anything but it's it is the god's plan for the believer right because to really to be able to excel and to gain advantage and empowerment for the life that we had that's a block that's a roadblock dan says it can be tribulation forest jones but it becomes easier with practice i read that but i read it again it was good dan says we love fishermen and tent makers right yeah i love the fact that thanks for saving me dan uh the uh yeah it's just weird uh you get up and you speak and somehow wrong words come out of your mouth i don't know how it happens devin says forgiveness doesn't mean i need to forget it ever happened right exactly and i can still avoid that person exactly for giving them you know you may still need and in fact if that uh you know okay so we'll say take for example uh the time rodney uh got up behind the pulpit and trashed me you know and he talked saying that you know we had it was it was the do you remember we were talking about paul you know going to choosing to go to rome and whether or not it was right or wrong and we just sort of said yeah i think he made the wrong choice there that that when he got converted uh the lord told him don't go to jerusalem before he went to jerusalem the holy spirit told him don't go to jerusalem when he was in jerusalem the lord told him get out of jerusalem that's right so i don't know call us crazy we were thinking he probably should have gone to jerusalem and and so we're we're talking about this and and then uh rodney gets up behind the pulpit on sunday and says i'm purely and totally ignorant of the word of god really joel really all that stuff you know i you know it was so stupid it was the easiest thing to forgive and i you know does that does that mean that i no longer avoid him i think that man should be marked and avoided and i will avoid him and i also think that you know but not just because of that right exactly because another doctrine and you're right the doctrinal heresy he's teaching now but you know the so yeah that doesn't i forgave him it doesn't mean i should stop avoiding him either you know i my point when i was kind of combating conversing back and forth with this dear saint was i must have never forgiven anybody well right and you know one of the one when i hit when i know when i hit bottom um when i hit bottom and came back one of the i i had a couple of close friends and i said i i have got to get a handle on freak this is one thing i am i i cannot do i was so mad about some wrongs that had been done you know and uh of course one of the things they taught me to do one friend told me to read was the corey ten boom's book the hiding place hidden place i don't know i don't either uh yeah that was that was extremely helpful one friend said look you have got to make sure you understand that you know you cannot look at people anymore through their faults you have to look at them for their needs just like the lord right we look at you you can't look at them for you know look at them and hate them because of those faults you have to look at those faults and and consider what their need is and then you know how it is you're supposed to feel about them and how you're supposed to approach them because you know sometimes the worst people are merely the ones crying the loudest for the lord jesus christ amen and they just don't realize it and so your reaction to their worst in to react to their worst in grace just opens them up to the gospel itself uh that's and and the lord has the perfect means by which we can actually deal with those people and they can actually change they can actually be transformed by the gospel by the the whole doctrine of identification and they can literally do a 180 from everything they are right now there is hope for every single one of them to be a beautiful servant for christ and we don't want to let our reaction and the way we deal with others to to keep them from being able to make that transition or make it on ourselves to make the transition going the other way you know we said earlier uh romans 12 19 as much as life within you live peaceably with all men amen and and that of that us doing that can have one of two effects one will be forgiveness and restoration and the other is by doing so you'll heap coals of fire but don't don't live peacefully with all men with the hope of coal falling on somebody's head i mean that kind of negates the point right but it's that restoration of fellowship and i praise the lord for that i mean the opportunity to be restored for us to operate in love and grace toward the worst of people is the happiest life you can have um i you know there's there's no other rather than being affected by what they do you distance yourself emotionally from what what it is that they're doing you don't take it personally and you just stay focused on putting on the attributes of the lord jesus christ amen how is it that you are going to respond in grace to that person uh to be a model of the savior who is who has given you the eternal who has been the means by which you've been given eternal life um and uh and frankly you know when when uh like for example with the rodney thing i couldn't wait to come back on the podcast and talking grace about rodney or anybody else that we we if we ever get trashed and i know and i have no doubt it probably happens i don't hear about it all but if we ever get trashed we i already have a strategy about how to do it we're going to respond in grace and it's going to be totally epic it's not doesn't make headlines but you know no and that's the happier way to live you know now that's easier said than done and and nobody's perfect we are not anywhere close to being perfect uh nor have i feel do i feel like i've actually mastered that whole speech always with grace season with salt not that we've already arrived right you know but i you know i we're all on the same team are we now we're all on board about wanting the same things together um so that's uh uh get off that but that is a going to be a lifelong struggle jones and and uh we just we have had opportunities where we viewed it on the other side of on of grace where we need to be and not on the side of emotions emotion i mean if we waited for our emotions to settle down sometimes it would be a long day before we forgave anybody uh dan says we live in a drinking village with a fishing problem that's awesome dan said devin says i won't i want to book a dan one-liners devin says i hate sarcasm and text because i'm too often too dumb to get i get in a lot of trouble when i talk about paul uh exhibiting sarcasm in his letters to corinthians so i'm i'm hopefully hopefully this person's working really hard right now and isn't going to hear this point if ever if ever i have sarcasm i usually look over to this side of the auditorium [Laughter] luda says i'm a little late today have a bad day all have a bad day to you sweetheart i hope you have one i love you to death i hope you're great uh thus the uh uh dan says yep devon thus the smiley faces helps um i i uh uh uh perhaps uh what you refer to as dumb is actually the blessing of never day as in every day yeah you know and not that is a blessing we are to be are we not ignorant of these evil things harmless as doves wise as serpents and um let me see here dan says forgiving does not always mean forgetting but still do not dwell on it um karen's having connectivity issues good to have you back joan says um yeah for the most part i have always found it easy to forgive and yet recently my ability has been stretched to breaking yeah i can totally understand that i have had uh such experiences yeah um i i understand that feeling tk says acts 2 ain't about you i love that thanks for doing this podcast it's a blessing to me it is a blessing to me to have you here my dear fellow saint amen whether it's male or female it's awesome having you actually let the i and i just i love to death this whole um all right let me let me get over here uh and i'll share the link to the whole carl uh the whole carl vid b berean song i just it just made me laugh did we get into the uh is it beautiful huh have we really gotten into the new life stuff yet the new identity article right i got to get to that i'm going to get try to get caught up with some of these comments and then we're going i'm going to run this article by you and just get your reaction to it um i've been studying all morning so uh gerard quotes first corinthians 1 17 for christ sent me not to baptize but to preach the gospel now argue with those wisdoms lest the cross of christ should be made of no effect made of non-effect by what water baptism amen preaching the merits and the issues of water baptism devin says if your life is full of suffering how do you find joy in being stuck in this life when you're promised such a great one in the next doesn't that spark a yearning for the next one and not wanting to be here but the thing is about the life that we have what he does that makes this life unbelievably amazing that makes you want to keep at it is the fact that you are literally dead buried risen with christ you are you have his resurrection life in you and thus we have in philippians 3 10 that i may know him and the power of his resurrection well what does he mean the power of in the fellowship of his suffrage that's being made conformable unto his death so we can attain under the resurrection well why does he want to know about the power of his resurrection is he just wanting to experience what it's going to be like when we die and we get resurrected is that what he's wanting to experience none of that i'm going to say no i'm saying he wants to experience the fullness of his resurrection life in you right here right now that is at the very core of this little doctrine we love to call our identification in christ amen now let me let me and let me say that there was um i noticed an article and i got to get fred's reaction to this he says he's starting this was from americanreformer.org so these are a bunch of calvinists oh uh this is uh an article by a guy from georgetown he went to george his name's caleb morrell um oh man he says stop finding your identity in christ and he's talking about retail i'm gonna love this and he's talking about the hidden implications of an unbiblical phrase so he says all right identity is everywhere from identity crises to identity politics to sexual identity the term is arguably enjoying unprecedented popularity but identity is is not just popular in secular circles in fact christians are leading the way in 2010 john mcarthur wrote slay a book called slave the hidden truth about your identity in christ boy that sounds like a terrible book uh the slave the hidden truth about your identity in christ that's stupid sorry uh so in 2013 he says mark driscoll published who do you think you are finding your true identity in christ okay i love that title i think i may steal that one uh in 2015 even td jakes got on the identity bandwagon publishing identity discover who you are and live a life of purpose okay that's a good title uh i like mine better but okay he says if macarthur driscoll and jakes are all writing about it it must be fine right he says the category of identity in christ is so ubiquitous that it appears as the catch-all antidote to every christian struggle do you struggle with sexual sin identity in christ and this is the solution well yeah it totally is the solution are you looking for he understands are you looking for satisfaction in a spouse find your identity and incre in christ someone will tell you yeah that's totally a solution to that problem he says are you overly focused on people pleasing your identity in christ is the solution yeah it totally is this guy could write the book i don't need to but he doesn't agree i know it it's amazing all right so at the course at the core of his article basically that the he did a search through all of the quote-unquote you know written documents of the church fathers from augustine and all going all the way down through the ages and none of them in time in years past decades past ever used the phrase identity in christ as you know he says the student of history who searches the vast troves of christian thought soon makes an arresting discovery it turns out that the language of identity in christ is not only foreign to the pages of scripture but also to nearly 2 000 years of christian reflection searching the words identity in christ in every published work since the reformation immediately reveals that such language is almost exclusively a phenomenon of the late 20th century this is true whether you search in english or in german which was the dominant language of the 19th century then all this bunk about all the degrees of searching he's done and all the words and all these are fun why don't go to georgetown i'm not rooting for their football team either [Applause] football or football all right first of all the history of identification i will lay you ten to one i'll bet you my and i can't prove this but you know i know ever since i went through brian's uh grace history project i had been convinced that grace probably always existed eve going all the way back to paul the grace movement was all it's just history has not recorded it i believe that brian uh has told me he believes that too you have uh you know you do have evidence of what was it what were they called the palestinians in 600 i'll bet you money those policies believed in identification i'll bet you money and that's very possible they did not use the same words that we use today the world's not keeping track of the literature of the mid-axe dispensational or the grace movement because they they prefer the heretical calvinism and the reformed movement that's one of the saddest things i think about should the lord terry you know a few years from now if there aren't people who are brought up to carry on then we'll never get a quote right and i mean you know when i came back to the lord in 2014 and i'm studying and i'm coming into helping coming to understand identification i'm reading i'm reading people like j.c o'hare jc o'hare back in the 30s and the 40s was screaming about identification uh you had and i mean i have an article here just as an example uh the reconciliation and the mystery by o'hare which is i think back in the 30s or the 40s this is back when i think the christian life book came out he says we learn by looking into the scriptures which deal with these divine truths that the doctrine of identification is likewise associated with them that is the reconciled believers identification with christ we grace believers have been before identity in christ became a thing in modern uh christendom we were screaming about this since the early days of the 20th cent of of the 1900s o'hare was screaming about this you take guys from the 1800s particularly the plymouth brethren many of them were hardcore believers about identification including my favorite guy william kelly uh he was all about identification you'd be lucky to find a document that he wrote that didn't talk about identification i mean just as a random example his commentary on second corinthians he says how blessedly christ meets self in its need and guilt and ruin in order to deliver from its power not only the by the judgment of the first man but by identification with the second amen identification is a a natural conclusion you come to when you study the pauline epistles would it surprise you to uh to come to understand that reform theology would never find this oh totally yeah how could you when you spiritualize everything and so you know you look back over time and right you know the problem was they just weren't right dividers now would you you know out in christendom when they say your identity in christ they have no clue what they're talking about it is a very vacuous broad generality that people are just throwing out there with us this is real meaty heart doctrine that we would accept this is us reckoning for ourselves the truths that god had given us in romans 6 of everything he made you in his son that you you are identified with his death burial and resurrection because that's how you have eternal life now let me i did want to run this past you and get your reaction to this that he has a whole section here talking about the dangers of talking about identity in christ under mining obviously and legitimate callings he says all right so i want to get you see if you get a rea if i can get a reaction out of you he says one of the dangers of identity is to pit the body against the self like the gnostics of old modern critical scholars like simone di boivar bovar view of the body as something to be overcome through technology rather than something good and god given to be embraced what yeah yeah the body it's there's something wrong about the body at the the the identity pits the body against your true self and that is a bad thing you know the body is something to be overcome uh through technology rather than something good and god given to be embraced uh i haven't no sense uh uh uh going to embrace my uh a fleshly body in any way shape or form and no in in me dwelleth no good thing yes see dead to sin dead to the law 2 20 22. you get to the end of uh i mean that is that is ludicrous and it does sound like somebody who is coming at this from a totally humanistic way of thinking can you take for example the one of my favorite verses i learned this from doug dodd first corinthians 9 27 paul talking about how i i keep under my body and bring it in right the point being that you're you're there you were before you got saved in bondage to the sin and the flesh you were in bondage you were you were enslaved to the flesh then after you got saved you were freed from the bondage to send and now you're free to take your sin corrupted bodies and to bring it into subjection to your renewed mind following the word of god and the direction and the will of the father so now you're it is the body is a it is a force that is in conflict with the holy spirit and with your the true you and it is something that is to be put into subjection to the will of god i think though sometimes we fail to understand the value right of time as these great men of god discover something or they don't yeah discover it and they learn to explain it and to you know put it in thought and then the next generation gets that and begins to understand that right and then you so here we are what else would you say about romans chapter 6 how many ways can you talk about walking in newness of life without someone bingo preach it yeah and we got it i mean romans chapter 6 is such a fantastic chapter and it's given me even a greater appreciation for understanding the struggles that paul had right the struggle that paul was having in romans chapter 7 was with who he is in christ now right with who he was in the past right and so he's trying to learn to deal with that now he says in contrast i have two more points here and i'll get your reaction in contrast christianity has always offered a middle ground between absolutizing the body and dismissing the body on the one hand galatians 3 27-28 relativizes our this worldly situatedness as less important than our union with christ you are one you are all one with christ well if you're one with christ don't you think that affects your identity you know on the other hand but here's here's one that uh really kind of got under my skin he said since identity tends to be used as a vacuous category dude you definitely need my book it places a premium on choice through the negation of other identities such as man brother father and son right as if as if being identified finding your identity in christ somehow undermines and under undercuts uh your other identity such as being a father or a brother or whatever so he says thus identity in christ is often used to wrongly undermine legitimate biblical callings such as gender and nationality does gender a calling these questions really aren't as hard as what you're making them out to be it's it says scripture teaches that we are born into relationships of mutual obligation as sons daughters fathers and mothers regardless of our personal choices to insist i'm not american because my identity is in christ ignores the boundary lines of geography and time that god has allotted for us and calls good to say i'm a stay-at-home mom but i identify as a creative writer and thinker downplays the legitimacy of motherhood as a divinely sanctioned vocation let me tell you something see this is the thing that's just terrible this is the thing the the whole idea that talking about your identity identity in christ undermines all these other identities you have as a brother a sister a mother a father or whatever or an american your identity in christ informs you about how to be a mother brother father sister whatever that's too simple it it in fact it elevates it it it improves it's it you know helps you to excel in these other roles knowing who you are in christ amen i mean absolutely and the of course that's ludicrous of course the idea here that identity in christ they have no concept of what what the true biblical definition of identification in christ is because you could not have your eternal reality you could not have that newness of life eternal reality becoming alive in you that moment you believed you couldn't have that reality if you weren't spiritually identified with christ in his death burial and resurrection that's how you get eternal life that's how you get the your victory over sin and death the only way you can get eternal life is to be identified with what he accomplished at calvary and in that process the old jew crucified with christ and you are literally freed from this bondage of sin which means once you've reckoned yourself as having been freed from sin then you know how to function as a father mother brother sister in christ don't get me started no i think it's way too late for that brother i'm gonna calm down i'm gonna step back here well here's you know and i've told this story before because my boxing coach he began to teach me back in the early 70s galatians 2 20. and he loved that verse so much he wanted me to understand it not knowing one thing about pauline you know mid-ax dispensationalism but he says freddie this is where real life is and we would start our sessions with we need to start it with galatians 2 20 or end it with relationship i quoted that verse from for years right be now so going back to this question having said all of this going back to this question if you're if your life is full of suffering how do you find joy in being stuck in this life the key to joy of everything you understand your spiritual ruin you understand the mountaintop of grace upon which god has placed you you understand who and what you are in christ now the real the spiritual reality of your new life in christ and then the joy going through the suffering is to put to use the empowerment he's given you by his grace to be able to endure all longsuffering with joy it is it is putting into practice the spiritual life of god himself and you amen that enables you to endure with joy and the only way you get so you understand who you are in christ you understand of course the word rightly divided but then you get into the word you let the words of christ dwell in you richly and you and the whole point of studying scripture is to learn the things that the father is freely given to us by the spirit and then once it is and then joy through trials is putting into practice the very life the very gratitude the very joy that he has given you because of what he made you in his son and all the glory to come after the fact well when i when i think about this can you imagine what it'd be like to try to talk to someone about the blessings of being a believer without having a contrast living and present in our lives right i mean i mean what are you going to do i mean how you go how you going to share with somebody the benefit of what it's like to know the life of christ what it's like to be able to not have to wait till eternity to experience it timothy lay hold on eternal life well he wasn't talking about you know working out your salvation as if you might lose it right but you know to be able to experience it and to see it we would be at a great disadvantage how could we encourage people right the um and i i have a playlist on uh on our youtube channel on uh suffering i spent much of that time going through second corinthians six so if you want to look at the first ten verses the second corinthians six and i all the other saints are going no please don't go there look real quick it's great the uh you have three lists in that in that in that section paul gives a list of the things that he suffered then he gives you a list of how he got through those those that suffering very very important part what he was focused on while he endured suffering which is how he got through it right right pureness knowledge long suffering kindness holy ghost love unfeigned word of the truth the power of god the arm of righteousness on the right hand on the left he being focused on those on your walk while you're suffering helps you to in not only endure the suffering but to endure it with joy and the emphasis is not on okay how am i going to get through this hard time the emphasis is on how do i excel in my new identity in christ while i go through these hard times the the emphasis is on on perfecting you know excelling at being everything god made you and his son while you go through it so he was very focused on very specific aspects of his walk when he went through hard times and there was i did a message for every single one of these words uh pureness knowledge long suffering kindness holy ghost he was focused on excelling at those at those very specific qualities when he suffered and i think there's some brilliance in that too because what what it is it's not that he's praying to god to give him you know all of these various qualities so that he can excel it was about being able to excel at those qualities because of everything that god has already made him in in christ because he's just appropriating the power that he always has so it's about focusing and channeling his attention to excelling at those particular attributes when he suffered and i find that section absolutely brilliant and uh that's why the next book is on suffering and going to go into all that again and gonna uh because suffering is about the application of your identification in christ you know the ultimate application putting to practice who you are in christ to be able to endure everything uh i'm i'm yeah keep going you got to interrupt me i'm going off on on all these soap boxes and you got me all worked up you're going to need to re-apply deodorant i just might oh um well that's all right uh jones says holy smokes would that be incense totally all right let me see what else we got here uh gonna look at the look at the saints uh we got uh dan says the true gospel goes underground easily jesus did it all that's right gerard quotes uh first uh corinthians uh 1 18 for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness but unto us which are saved it is the power of god no no no it's the power of god you got to get a little behind it now you go off on other things go off on the power of god does that verse mean that you know hearing the gospel should never really get old because for us hearing that gospel it is to us yet it further it further illustrates to us the power of god i don't know why why is it unto us which are saved it is the power of god well because i think you can include the three tenses of salvation i am saved i am being saved and i will be saved there is power in the blood and there's excitement and there's encouragement and there's hope for others and how can we not be encouraged by that or empowered by it bob picard says the gospel is the only thing that matters on the ground underground and above there you go pastor bob uh joe is that a challenge to dan i hope so yeah dan jones says i would love to be able to forget and i do the problem is this i live with this person you don't forget you don't have to forget brother yeah quit put that behind you yeah i mean just put it behind you that's not going to be it's not never going to happen paul never forgot his own mistakes he was still talking about that in 2nd timothy in any event uh when paul said for getting those things which are behind and reaching forth under those things he is saying that he's not saying i don't remember them anymore right i'm changing the direction i'm changing the things i'm going to replace them with i'm what he says i'm forgetting to do is i choose not to bring those things up again amen because that's where the problem is so when you find yourself thinking in those ways and believe me brother we pray we love you and we wish you the best but we know that the answer is not forgetting it's reaching forth i love that point of not bringing the what's behind you up up again yeah you'll never so when you start to do it you just say okay i'm not going to do that anymore john says in any event uh i live with this person and their every word reveals their complete lack of awareness with respect care or concern for anyone else yeah exactly how do you know how you break that the only way you can break that is uh exhibiting the love and the grace of christ never to respond in kind uh now my thinking before i came back to the lord in the old days when i was away from the lord those types of people i i everything in me to to burst their their big old bubble you know i would i would love to burst their self-inflated balloons bring them down absolutely tear them down every chance i got you know that's not the way of christ you know the uh the way of christ is to reach them by heaping coals of fire on their head deals with that kind of issue we love joel hayes 2.0 and the uh of course there is to come a time where there are some people uh you know especially false teachers some people who just will not listen and you and paul tells you from such turn away walk away there are some people you cannot reach who are so militant in their thinking there's no reaching them or towards you or towards the doctrine right right so avoid you know as right as it is to extend grace and love doesn't necessarily mean you're going to reach them it's sometimes their their thinking is just so hardcore militancy that there's no they will not ever give you that chance to to to actually reach their hearts uh jones says then there's uh a constant uh application of a certain persuasion uh a performance-based acceptance that caused me to need to be silent for the most part yeah i understand i do too i totally understand you do what's best and you forget uh probably uh foremost is uh you know the way of peace is is is as important as you know the the manner in which you provide the gospel make for peace and sometimes it's withholding the tongue even on things we know that we're right about right and uh because if we bring the verses that you know they're going to be inflammatory even though they are correct there may be a time you just need to withhold those um yeah a lot of people are uh in the live chat are very sympathetic and they can all relate to those very thoughts um um amy stewart says pray for kay please got her down on my new list i had to flip the page over uh so i haven't but i'm not transferring the names i'm just gonna write new names down as they come and uh but yeah okay deco will continue to be in my presence is she home from the does anybody know if she's home from the hospital she was but i don't know if she went did she i know she was in the hospital she should be home by now i would think well i think maybe i might assumed it but uh bob picard says i haven't written an article in a while but i'm thinking of doing one on the sin of incontinence i could probably use a stinky turd analogy somehow hey look bob you know i'll bet you you could be a great you you probably are a phenomenal writer and i'll bet your money uh joshua leckie would be willing to uh take you on as a as a contributor to the website because uh he had sent a message to all the writers over the weekend just saying hey look if we got uh you know of anybody else that wants to contribute let me know uh so if you're interested i'll hook you up man i think uh i can't say that i can see bob being phenomenal yeah the the in confidence and depends yeah we've got like on our ten guys and only it seems like just a few of us are hey tuesday's my day that's all i know and sometimes if i'm really motivated i might do an extra one a week but all right so um let me see here um what else we got uh um john says i always do forgive but sometimes it takes longer than it should you know what in many cases that's true for me too uh bob says the longer you two are or on having to forgive the longer it lingers and leaves a really uh bad taste in your mouth totally um uh jones says uh i'll need to i will indeed pray for our lovely sister thank you for reminding me of the triviality of my problems yeah um that's the thing man you know what some somebody like kay is going through certainly makes our own problems uh seem um seem rather small in comparison doesn't it grady owens is in the house uh he's grady says i am sorry i don't respond uh too quickly to greetings and texts i had a stroke about three years ago and have problems typing let me tell you grady it's awesome having you here i i don't care how long it takes you and i'm i am thrilled to death that you were willing to spend time with us brother i'm i hope you're well and i just wish you nothing but grace and peace and to everyone you know cliff matthews says uh did we scare away chida and ben no i think they both um people come and go they have lives believe it or not president's day i don't we i we just showed no judgment towards whether pete somebody's here or not um and i know i know some people come when they can which is awesome and thank you very much says pray for kay absolutely uh dan says um she's just eating breakfast uh remember roi has created his own peculiar box to lion it is sad it really is um i would love to see actually rodney come back to the knowledge of the truth i would love to see him come to the end of himself and all his thoughts about himself and be able to treat brethren with grace again i don't know if he ever did but hopefully treat brethren with grace and come back to the knowledge of the truth he really for his own sake and for the sake of his followers because there's the mid-act dispensational position is the truth and there's no greater truth that you can share with another soul than identification with christ who you are in christ how to live as in as the saint god made you in christ and then abiding with all the hope that we have which includes the judgment seat the rewards we'll be getting at the judgment seat including the rapture includes you know our eternal destiny the glory to come so i just pray i do pray that that man will i and if he were to well i was wrong i'd like to come back to the truth i'm sure a lot of the saints will be willing to take them back dan says i'm so glad uh there is a bottom or else we would have never seen joel again right uh there are varying bottoms and i've seen i've i know people who have hit far lower bottoms than i did but uh that was that was a bottom for me for sure praise the lord uh and you know i just received the text from stacy which is somewhat appropriate to what we've been talking about today is stacey listening i don't know if she's listening or just in preparation for the women's meeting but she said in titus 2 8 speech that cannot be condemned that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed having no evil thing to say of you that's right i mean what a fan whether whether she's listening i just don't it's it's it's appropriate and uh i didn't know stacey new scripture that's amazing i didn't know she it's surprising too coming up in our home i'm just testing to see if she's actually listening i can't believe she would say that's good yeah amazing i didn't know she even read that far got actually got into titus that's amazing i you've never been on the wrath of space on the side of stations right now uh only i came close once when i forgot to flip on the uh coffee pot in the back there once i forgot to turn it on oh okay yeah yeah um hey we got maria j martin in the house i can't believe it maria yes we love you gerard long says dearly beloved devin's not yourselves but rather give place under wrath for it is written vengeance is mine i will repay saith the lord i often use this verse to the lost which say no right right uh it is a total that's a very difficult thing because every man wants to do vengeance himself and the offended believer says i know it's yours but when yeah and you almost feel like it's an assault on your whole being that you would actually give up wrath and give up having the execution of pure justice by allowing the lord to have that but then but if you really understand the perfection of the lord's justice man man um yeah i'd leave it in his hands uh what else we got here larry heinz is in the house did an epic job on joy uh message yesterday uh dennis did an epic job on joy uh yeah yeah um i had a friend of mine tell me about that last night said uh cedes was was pretty good that's all i was that's all i would say about dez i don't want him to get a big head but i do love me some dead stridom i love him too much that man is phenomenal uh jones says by the way i'm sorry for being a what blanket dude you're great no you are let me tell you something you have no idea you that is just fess up when i when i hit bottom came back to the lord you guys came and joined us we had men's breakfast because joel needed fellowship really badly and i came to men's breakfast loaded with questions every single week you did and i could not and i you are saying the things that i would have been saying um back in 2014 if there was a podcast and i could have uh participated in such a manner and it was the glorious those are the the best i had the the most fun i was the most encouraged oh i mean i was i was a i was a i was a desert and fred and hal were my little oasis and i wanted to drink as much water out of them as i possibly could over the course of one breakfast uh i mean if all we had to do is sit around talk talk to people about now i love sports and i can talk about a lot but if that was the whole purpose of the you know because back then we got up at 5 30 to go to breakfast oh yeah i mean we would be there what from six to maybe eight thirty nine o'clock so yeah um the uh yeah it was a six a.m breakfast wasn't it and then what we did six a.m and so everybody said okay if breakfast is 6 a.m we need to get there 5 30. yeah yeah some guys showed up at yeah 5 30. 5 15. and i asked questions about literally everything under the sun every uh uh we talked about forgiveness and i said all the same things you did we talked about uh just i mean just everything uh there was uh nothing was off limits basically and uh i probably had more growth hanging out with um with the boys and men's breakfast than uh well i don't know actually studying the word probably could be skirt but yeah second to that would be hanging out with fred and hal and everybody the thing was i don't think anybody's ever ever really asked me a question that i thought was a stupid stupid or a foolish or unlearned question denise foster says always wait to hear from you guys bring joy to my day knowing i can now get through what the world has for me amen you know that was one thing that i always was shocked about when i first came back to the lord i'm still i'm still struggling with depression though all the stuff that's going on in the news is driving me nuts and i would come into this church on sundays everybody's happy nobody cares they're praising the lord they're singing fred's a cracking jokes you know and i'm just like what on earth do they not breathe i mean why you know and then you come to realize no no uh all that stuff going on in the world yes it's bad ain't nothing compares to you who you are in christ nothing compares nothing to the to ministry to grace the life of grace the hope to come nothing compares to that and i'm i have a line in the in the book where i said that you know the world doesn't depress me anymore because the darker the world becomes the brighter his grace shines that is great and that that to me is still true you know because the darker the world gets how much more beautiful and brighter is the glorious grace of god we used to say this you know we'd be talking about how bad things were in the world and this that going on right that going on and we'd end up with saying well let's go see some soul savings [Laughter] mike's i mean what are we going to do about it you know michael my mike uh mike moriarty would come out and he'd say you talk about some bad thing going on in the world and the next thing you know he's back to talking about how do we give the gospel out to so and so how do we do this how do we get you know on and he's all about evangelism uh gerard says if thine enemy hunger feed him if he thirsts give him drink for in so doing thou shall heap coals of fire on his head overcome of evil but overcome evil with good which i think is interesting that it talks about that after after the heap of cole's being out on his head but sometimes you know you think about think about all that from the negative side of it right but sometimes heaping coals of fire on the head i don't think i'm qualified to do that i don't even know if i know how but what i do know is that after somebody's had their head burned with the coals of fire they mean more open may be more open to the issues of the gospel jerry winehouse and hey how are you doing dear brother i hope you're well he says this man demonstrates both accurate observations and then turns around and denies them i'm so glad i escaped reformed theology oh yeah totally amen this guy says he says at one point he says in this article i just how much time do i have okay he says but to say that i now find my identity in christ falls into the trap of reducing morality to feelings and emotions that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard i've got one verse that's all and that's all you need but they're much more than that what shall we say then exactly shall we continue and say that grace may abound god forbid and the thing is the it's it's just the opposite you're when you understand who you are in christ the perfection of what christ accomplished for you at calvary the perfection of what god made you in his son that moment you believed and when you come to reckon all of that as a reality for you and your life let me tell you it is it is it is the at the very heart of all the ever-ending never-ending joy and praise and gratitude that you'd be feeling after that it is what gives you joy in life i tell you and because there may be a few who will want to go out and misuse grace right does not make the offer illegitimate yeah i mean in fact it makes it more legitimate and i think we'd be surprised that there weren't some people who would misuse that and say let's go for the flu i'll be quiet go ahead no no don't you look no don't you look at the clock on me brother no all right so i'm gonna i'm just gonna skim the comments here uh devin says i'm sure there was a lot of people in groups throughout history that knew the bible the same or better than people of today amen i am convinced timothy is probably uh apart from paul i think timothy knew everything way better than all of us ever do uh ever will uh or better than people today the problem is uh they would have been outcast in the church and no one would have published them if they ever if they even had the means to get something published exactly that's exactly one good thing about the age of information identity equals romans 6 8. now if we be dead with christ we uh um sorry it's one good thing about the age of information yeah totally and uh praise the lord for uh people like randy who have made it their their life's work to publish stuff like that uh dan says identity equals romans 6 8. now if we be dead with christ we believe that we shall also live with him amen bob picard says the deep thinking scholar who no one can understand is essential for the commoner to trust so much for reformation right and really if you you know the vast majority of the times you really consider what it is that this scholar is saying it is the stupidest thought ever wrapped up in five dollar words that you know you try to put it in layman's terms it's just it's comical i felt i felt a little bit like that going through that article i mean okay so uh cliff says escaping wrong theology was was quick when i watched kevin at beyond the fundamentals i followed on youtube yeah uh uh gerard uh cites romans 11 29 which i love the gifts and calling of god are we are without we believe not yet he abideth faithful uh second timothy uh 2 13. um i mean there's an abundance of evidence to bring forth uh larry said larry hein says great hanging with you all but i have to go sacrifice some cows no and then we have bob picard saying famously the old man is d-e-a-d dead right really right i didn't know bob believed that yeah i'm kidding i get he gets a quote from me on that all the time frank ladue philippians 3 20 vile body when you get some years on you then you will know how vile this body is bob says in spite of wonderful medical technology the body still decays and dies that's why our citizenship identification is in heaven devin says i don't understand the whole gender thing they say gender isn't real i know it's just insanity they are let me tell you something this insanity and that's where they're going in schools this insanity is designed to condition people to accept everything that's wrong about the antichrist everything but after we're gone everything that's is up is down is backwards it's in and i think this insanity is conditioning people to embrace uh everything that's going to happen after we're gone uh devin says the opposite you should take pills and get surgery to make your body that way it's insane uh jerry says kevin thompson has been so helpful in my understanding of scripture but i don't think he's acts 9 still we must give credit where credit is due amen there are some acts 2 folks on the unsearchable riches that i admire yeah um uh and i don't i don't agree with them at all and i think it's okay to read material if you if you are at the very least grounded in the faith and you understand identification and you understand right division there's nothing wrong with reading other stuff and uh is chewing the meat and spitting out the bones john says darby gabriele and scofield bob picard says joel your gender is calling uh jones says it's amazing to think that while writing these articles and or book these men presumably had to read all the scriptures we get the doctrine of identity from and yet without understanding um the power of dogmatism yeah you know and believe me when i talk about identification i'm not i'm not reinventing the wheel i am just merely standing on the shoulders of men who are far greater than i have will ever be particularly o'hare and a lot of those uh plymouth brethren guys that i love they're great they're all acts too but they understood identification and hebrews 4 the word of god is quick and powerful and sharper than any 280 sword um all right so what else do we have here um okay i'm just gonna skim uh these everybody's comments were just legitimately phenomenal i feel like uh um i'm sure somebody's probably preached the gospel on there today somewhere there's some wonderful comments here devin i uh and i'll just say devin man i love you to death i understand i totally understand uh jones says uh don't worry about a thing brother that what fellowship is that's what fellowship is all about we all love you and want to help and support you yeah exactly and you know what got me through all a lot of that a lot of those similar things and what got me through it the love and the fellowship of the saints here and that's the one place where the really the value of a good local church really really shines uh kay says uh i'm sorry amy stewart says kay is supposed to be home on the 28th just pray that god gives her the encouragement she needs to stay strong okay um okay hey we got oh looky there wooden cross bible fellowship my dear brother carl out there in norway you beautiful man how i love you i love you i love you dearly i love that song and i have been i played it for my brother mike at home he laughed his head off i ca i can't go a day without hearing b berean song uh it's it's just a legitimate it's phenomenal a brother here said said that you're uh you're literally the bob dylan of the grace movement dude i love you man i love you to death and i hope you're well i hope you're taking really good care of yourself out there and you just keep on keeping on man and come to america when you post videos on your channel i'll be happy to promote them along with all the other links that i have beneath uh beneath the video in the description box uh so i you're you're beautiful man i love the hat i love the beard i love the glasses i love the way you look i love the videos with the vests i love the happy house too much sorry i gotta um all right so uh how about we just um uh i'm afraid i won't be able to get to the rest of the comments fred what does it take to get the free gift of eternal life you know the that's the great thing and it's not that we're we're trading off the wonderful comments but the real issue today and i you know i trusted everyone that's in the podcast today everyone that's in the chat rooms everybody that's all they're bringing that everyone really knows where they'll spend eternity and we don't want to be flipping about it because the consequences are extreme there's one place you never want to meet the lord jesus christ and that's at the great white throne of judgment amen where god brings up the dead from all ages and and and and brings him and here's the one thing we know right that everybody that stands before the lord jesus christ at the great white throne of judgment they're going to spend eternity cast alive into the lake of fire perhaps we don't know perhaps he's going to ask them why should i let you into heaven and perhaps he'll give them their opportunity i think maybe he will to say well i did this and i did that i did this and i did that and he would say to them you know not one single thing that you did or anything you didn't do has been covered by the blood of my son the lord jesus christ and because of that i will justly and legitimately cast you alive into the lake of fire will you'll burn for eternity i've heard people say well how can a god a loving god be just in doing that that's how serious the situation is he is just but he says i want to be the just and the justifier of him which believeth in jesus he says my he says in my sovereignty i have the right to be just to cast people alive into the lake of fire and to offset that i'm going to offer you the free gift of eternal life for all have sinned to come short of the glory of god being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in christ jesus you better want to be in christ jesus you don't want to be in a church you don't want to be in a denomination somewhere you want to be in christ and you call that identity [Laughter] without even saying a word i'm sorry no no that's without even saying the word was preaching it and here's the point god says there will be no mistake of whether you made it into my son or not i am going to say if you believe how that christ my son died on the cross for you amen your sin amen that he was buried and that he rose again the third day victorious sure for all sins but specifically for yours in that instant in that moment god the holy spirit will take and baptize you into the body of christ where you have absolute total forgiveness of sins amen and you'll never stand before god amen you'll never stand before the lord jesus christ amen explaining yourself [Laughter] and praise the lord for that believe it believe on the lord jesus christ as paul said believe what believe that he died for your sins and you'll have eternal life all right how about a word of prayer heavenly father how much we love you how grateful we are for this whole entire program of grace that you crafted before the world was created how how how we continually stand in awe of everything you are doing everything you've done for us everything you've done in us everything you're going to do through us father we just we we love you and we are so very grateful for all of it and um you know i'm grateful we're we're grateful for all the saints that we have with us in the live chat all the saints that subscribe to the channel and also all the saints who are members of this church were grateful for every single soul that we have been fortunate enough to have come in contact we also grateful for all the men that are in authority including our president including all the uh you know leaders of these other countries who are behaving in ways that give us concern i pray father that we all in our gratitude for them will be able to lead quiet and peaceable lives in our uh communities and i pray father i totally think of all these saints that we have they all have needs i know i think of kay dico who should be released soon i pray that she will be released soon amen she will fully recover i pray you know i think of randy and ellen and their son peter and the news that that came i totally lift them up of course i uh above it all i think of fred and gwen and especially glenn and i think of the treatments he has coming up i pray that we can just get through these treatments and we she'll be able to recover and we can just move on amen um i pray also father for carter their grandson and this uh brain injury um i pray father i i truly hope that he will not all not only recover but also be able to have full use of his face i pray father that that boy too through these circumstances will find a love for you that he will be intimately drawn to you in his life that as awful as these circumstances are these circumstances may be used for the good in some way especially in his life father i also think of hal who wanted to join us today but couldn't all the saints here all the many needs and of course all the saints in our live chat every one of them whom i love dearly i lift them all up father i pray that you know all of us in in in our lives will be shining lights of your grace in this increasingly dark world and i pray father that you're with your son and us we will knowingly do all the things you've asked of us and that your love will abound more and more in all of us in all knowledge and judgment that we can approve the things that are excellent in the choices that we make in our daily walks that we may be sincere and without offense in everything we say and do until the day your son comes amen and i pray that we will just be filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by your son and that everything we say and do will be to your glory and to the praise of you and everything you've done for us and it's in the name of your son our savior i pray amen amen praise the lord we love you today back here at 10 a.m tomorrow freddie bear will be back on wednesday morning wednesday morning wednesday uh and then beyond that third friday might be a
