Handbooker Helper: Cleric (Quick Build)

Are you the type of player that likes to fill your veins full of that sweet, sweet divine power, and unleash some of that radiant or necrotic fury? Are you feeling like bringing back a fellow fallen warrior back from the clutches of death? Then you should roll a cleric, here's your Cleric quick build for D&D 5e ♫ Don't know how to play? ♫ ♫ We'll show you the way ♫ ♫ Handbook, handbook, handbook ♫ ♫ Handbook-er Helper ♫ Handbooker Helper ♫ Ding ♫ For clerics, your power comes from your devotion to the God of your choosing and divining how best to enforce influence in the world. That means your Wisdom should be your highest ability score, and since you're a conduit for that tasty divine power, I would suggest putting your next highest roll in Strength. That way you can still bust some ass when you want to. Constitution is also a good choice and, lucky you, you get to pick your Divine Domain at first level. You have many, many choices, depending on what kind of player you wanna be. Life Domain is pretty clutch, if you want to be an uber powerful healer. Trickery Domain is fun if you want to have more to work with in terms of role-playing. Or, you could choose War Domain if you wanna be a tank on the battlefield which, at second level, would give you Guided Strike: a +10 bonus to rolls. The best part about playing a Cleric is that you have the responsibility of keeping the other members of your team alive. You may not always get to be the hero that deals the final blow, but their lives are *literally* in the power of your hands. Some of my personal favorite cantrips are Spare the Dying and Sacred Flame. As you level up, some other good ones are of course: Healing Word and Cure Wounds. Guiding Bolt and Spiritual Weapon are also great to help scratch that itch to do some damage and F some s**t up! Now, get out there and go be a monstah!
