three two one this is the berkeley bassmaster elite at lake guntersville lake guntersville that's like the king of bass fishing tournament lakes that's probably the most famous lake in the world as far as bass fishing tournaments go and it's mid-may which means there's still fish spawning and there's fish in 22 feet of water it's going to be one of the most interesting tournaments of the year because they're going to catch them off brim beds sight fishing or 25 feet deep tons of fish in the grass should be a really fun event i'm ready to get out there mix it up jump around a ton do what i like doing and hopefully catch us a bass or two had a tough practice but that's okay we're kicking into high gear today and we're running and running and running and we're gonna catch us a daggone bass at least one of them that's what i want them on right there d-bomb one ounce titan tungsten four out flipping hook that's why i want them all [Music] cheers [Music] [Music] so no hill no i don't think he's gonna make it that goomy's fat though it is huh he ain't gonna make it god dawg that is a fat 14 incher right there just started right here i will tomorrow don't say you don't use a o-ring do you think you get better action without it i think that um whenever you hook a fish it's easier for him to sling the worm without the o-ring i don't want them to sling because i ain't got nothing i i feel like i i lost a lot more with a room oh really i didn't use them for long though because i lost a couple and i stopped doing it and i just didn't do it anymore you know that's just i don't know truthfully his mouth too don't know how i didn't get him this sucker better be a keeper now he's looking smaller oh yeah in the mouth of work he's actually bigger than i thought that one i don't know good job like you said you weren't leaving without him you knew he was ready oh he kind of looks fifteen that's a keeper yep i don't think so like it's probably 16 what's that close that's seventeen man thank you lord is that gone coming together quick yes so far anyways i was fishing for one about the same size and there was another hole i said let me just pitch in this other hole and i'll pitch in there that one came out i was like he ate it though four feet deeper went before two feet deep so he looked small when he ate it that was still right under that map laughs this is a good one just stay there i'll catch you just when it's standing tell them in the mouth deep [Music] we got what a lot more than bass track says i can tell you that much yeah because them uh the two smallest ones are probably close to three pounds you know they're 17 how about phil all over the place trying to catch that one i fell all over the dang boat but we got five let me clean you off a little bit we got five i don't know how did anything was gonna happen somehow three of the bed fish let me wipe you off a little more i caught three of the bed fish i've seen in practice so whatever he's talking about bass being here in the evening will they be in here in the first thing in the morning too i don't think so i think they get out here and eat the shad and i think the bluegill is a midday i don't know it's weird i don't really know i know i'm away from oh no you might be a little bigger than i thought my piece of wood out of here i think this one's definitely bigger yeah i don't know which one i just called feel like it makes them a little hard to breathe when you got that in their mouth [Applause] i just see him glowing down there you know oh really is i think we got a way to catch five you know it's like you know tomorrow too yeah you i think you got to dial in right now how long did it last but you know right now feels like you get a bite hey [Laughter] i try to make the clips really quick so i don't want people like coming back and being like why'd you put that in there update i don't know i know you haven't looked at fast track right no see i looked at it a million jillion times today probably not a good did well though today didn't he so he did you're gonna be guaranteed he says he has like 16. so [Laughter] we caught more keepers and more weight today than we caught in practice the entire time that's real life i had three three bed fish i never thought i could make bite and i caught all three of them sorry i'm sorry that's pretty good not their two threes that might be keepers one alabama angler to another his second season on the bassmaster elite series kyle welcher a big finish last time we were here and looks like another good start to things here this week for kyle welcher five fish 16 pounds even he moves into 15th place and a good start to things 16 pounds even and sitting in 15th place 65 anglers into our day one weigh-in so man take that in in good style for day number one yeah especially after my practice i'll take that for sure i caught more weight today than i call all three days of practice cumulatively so i'll definitely take that i feel like i kind of might have figured out a little bit of something today not to catch 27 pounds but to hopefully at least catch a limit tomorrow so i appreciate y'all coming out glad to be on guntersville there's always hope here you can catch one of those giant bags so looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow go get it done we'll see you back here tomorrow [Music] foreign
