[Music] hello again everybody and a very warm welcome back to the channel today we're taking a look at the new fs dream team gsx for microsoft flight simulator throughout the video show your thoughts in the comments below don't forget to hit like and subscribe as well it's releasing imminently when it does i'll put the link in the description down below for you guys to head to the website and purchase it if you want to as well we're origami studios london gatwick airport and we'll get straight into it so you can guys can see what happens with the gsx system so in the ui menu you get the drop down here um activate ground services and you get a number of different options here now one thing that's quite interesting is if you expand the field here you can customize the park position which could be quite useful if you're wanting to tweak elements of how it all works in additional services however you can go through and go to customize airport positions customize airport and gsx settings now these basically allow you to change via this menu here a number of different options the follow me car speed uh and various other options as well if you're using something like pmdg737 with its defaults or its custom aircraft refueling system then you want to make sure that box is ticked and further down you can add your sim brief profile username and any virtual airline codes that you may or may not use one thing that's interesting to note here is you want to enable the diagnostic log and make sure you've got something for both of these should something go wrong in your setup you will be able to get some technical support via their forums so let's request boarding requested you get pop-ups on the top left of the screen handling by menzies it's automatically decided menzies will be our handling agent for osprey airways here at gatwick and for those of you who fly with vas it will automatically assign virtual airlines to it for you um and it will decide what handling agent will be relevant at random those of you who use things like british airways airlines with their own handling agents then more often than not somewhere like heathrow it should assign ba related handling equipment too the loaders on the left get to work and the borders on the right of the aircraft as we're looking at it at the moment get to work as well as the banks get loaded on the left-hand side of the aircraft on the top left of the screen you should get progress updates to tell you how it's all going the progress of the loading so far and you can call a fuel truck as well now if there's jet waste of course there will be different options and you should be able to see passengers board through the jet way the air bridge especially if they're really nice glass texture type things um and you get updates inside the box here as well you can see it's boarding passengers now you can request refueling and request catering as well now depending on the aircraft you're using lots of different things will happen you might get pop-ups which will ask you to complete an action before it moves to the next phase of loading or when it completes loading for example and in this instance of the pmdg 737 it will ask us to close the doors for the cargo holds via the fmc and to close the passenger doors as well if it hasn't automatically done it already you can get de-icers to go and assist with de-icing the aircraft to winter ops but it's a visual only effect worth noting at the moment they're hoping in the future they might be able to turn it into a genuine de-icing effect vgs but also marshallers are a thing in gsx and over the next couple of weeks videos live streams we will get to enjoy those and apparently it's all fully customizable with follow me cars as well giving that full gsx experience if you're using an airport with default jetways gsx will replace them with custom jet waste and on release it will support the pmdg-737 the flubawa a32 and x the fenix a320 the leonardo mad dog and all of the default msfs aircraft too all right supported we've got the pop-up at the top top left there so as we heard we're getting told now that the crew are on the way the cabin crew for the rear of the aircraft once they're complete we will get the passenger buses arrive as well there's a lot going on here and all the while we can configure the aircraft ready for the journey ahead as well wherever you're going to be flying you can get everything set up in the fmc we're going to the customize airplane menu it's recognized that we're in the seven three pmtg seven hundred and it gives us a number of options throughout if you're flying a cargo aircraft you can tick the box there and it will change the boarding noises you can ask for push back raise so if we tick this box here we click save it will raise the nose wheel ever so slightly for pushback in this instance this aircraft we don't need to worry about that and if we're going to start engines before push back for whatever reason we will we can click this box here and it will ask us prior to push back if we want to start one of the engines um and again as it shows in the pop-up there if you've got an aircraft without an apu then that could be particularly useful we can click the relevant fields here so passenger door 2 it shows there's no door at this position same with three and then at four door with custom open closed checks there's a whole load of options here as well for you to configure it all we can embed stairs if we want to customize in 3d editors but most of this should just be left as it is unless you want to make particular tweaks now with doors one left on the 737 we could select airstairs we do have them installed on this particular aircraft for osprey so we can click the box as well and we can customize it in the 3d editor to work out everything else and all the while well we've had a look at that the passenger bus has arrived so from the manual how i understand is it allows up to i think about 90 passengers per coach so require a second coach to arrive with another second uh like a second journey but again you can change that in that pop-up settings and main sort of settings page that we had a look at the beginning of the video and you can basically remove the need for the coach to make multiple journeys and thus it would only appear the one time for boarding and what's really cool with this is the fact that we can see the passengers going on to the aircraft inside the airplane turning right into the cabin so what this does is it offers us a whole new level of immersion which is something we've never been able to enjoy in msfs up to now so at this point onwards the sim with aircraft like the pmdg 737 at the fenix a320 and all the others um the aerosoft clj is a good example the sims really starting to come into its own while this is all going on on aircraft left we can swivel the drone camera around to the other side of the aircraft have a look at the cargo loading progress like so and you can see the animations there with uh the baggage team loading all the bags onto the airplane so all the while whilst boarding is going on we can be in the flight deck working through our setup for our flight and we've got some other sounds behind the cockpit door which offer us that extra bit of realism and it is really really good so first bus is gone second one's been called with the new set of passengers to complete the loading and it looks like the cargo is almost fully loaded as well so these things can take a bit of time you can increase the sim loading speeds in the settings menu in gsx so we've been on the ground for about 10 minutes now roughly and once boarding is almost complete and the cargo folks have loaded all the bags the caterers have arrived as well and again complete with really nice animations of them sliding to and from the truck into the aircraft to load the trolleys it's assigned us automatically doe and co hit a premium catering frost spray but again it will be led on the the airline that you're choosing to fly for that particular flight whether british airways american airlines so on and so forth what's complete all of the track the ground equipment will vacate away from the airplane and it's down to us to then think about push back at this point on the gsx menu we can press prepare for pushback we'll get some nice animations for the pushback with the ground handling agent inserting the the ground bypass pin right so we're ready for push back but we get a number of options once the tug's in position and it's all set up with the ground pin in place it's asking us now to set the push back direction we've got simple options of nose right tail left based on the view of the tug driver nose left tail right quick edit push back or a straight push back now i'm gonna have a look at the editor today and if you've got a pen and paper handy then this could be quite useful to note it down because it's inside the manual which you won't necessarily have open when you're running gsx in the sim so just going to drag this to the bottom right and we're going to hit continue push back and we're going to press quick edit push back it opens up the met at the editor at this point now we've got this the the tape showing us where the nose wheel is roughly we've got the red line extending out to the final position of the aircraft which is in that building zone it's not where we want it to be so let's move it we're going to press and hold shift and that's going to speed up our movements for the green airplane icon on the top right of your screens so we're going to press the up arrow on your keyboard to move it in towards the center line of the airplane we can press left or right on the keys on our keyboard the arrows to move it to another position and you can see the green dots from the underneath the belly of the airplane extending out to that final position there behind the aircraft and that is roughly the route that the pushback tag operator will take to rotate the final position what we want to do is press either f7 or f8 and that is going to rotate in 15 degree increments and it's going to be a lot quicker if you want to make smaller adjustments then you can use the numpad one and three and that will make much smaller increment adjustments there and then we can just reposition the airplane to where we want it somewhere like that could be quite nice when we're done exiting from editing mode we press enter release parking brakes okay anti-collision lights are on it's asked us to release the parking brakes so we're going to do that now release parking brakes release the parking brakes remove the chocks commencing push all engines clear start at will just giving us a left and a right uh engine clearance and we can start engine two or depending on the aircraft you're using you can go ahead and start the engines as required whilst this is all happening and we're starting the engines up on the outside of the aircraft the pushback team is pushing the aeroplane back with the assistance of a wing walker to our prescribed location with our custom push back one scenario where that would be extremely useful would be an instance where you're perhaps parked inside a cul-de-sac like some of them at heathrow and it could be really useful to you to have that option there once we're starting the engines the pushback team with the assistance of the wing walker on the right there is guiding the aeroplane back to that position that we've set using the visual editor for the pushback custom editor menu and it'll drive it into the position that we've set and then tell us it's all complete and then we can go ahead and make sure that we started the remainder of the engines onboard the airplane before we go back to the gsx menu to confirm that both engines are both started one of the other options for pushback then is push back knows left or right so once we've edited something it will remember it in the memory as we can see here under use auto save quick edit push back we can create a new one using option four and again we have the other options in this instance we're going to want to as a bit of a demonstration push the nose to the right and the tail to the left let's click that and watch what happens and the tug's gonna start to move back and provide us with uh a wing walker as well in the meantime as before we can go ahead and begin our engine starts so as we can see the aircraft's nose is being pushed to the left and what's pushback's complete on the center line it's a really good way of doing it it's nice simple left or right options here then what it will give us is the command again to confirm a good engine start on both engines once we're happy with both all we need to do is tell the dispatcher who will hold the ground pin out to show us that we have off authority of the nose wheel basically and ground steering that sort of thing please set parking brakes there we are so hard ground crews making the way over and they will hold position for us basically pending the good engine start like so we can hear them both click into position and we can say that actually we've got a good engine start we have a good engine start you can disconnect so let's watch what happens having confirmed the engine starts good the tug will be released and the dispatcher will retrieve the ground uh bypass pin from the nose wheel bay he's a little buggy in the areas it's a bit funky in places but overall in the main when it works it works very very well i have had a number of problems with the sim freezing with it on various aircraft and different airports so perhaps it's something that will be updated and tweaked over time so the tugs move clear and the dispatcher is now standing prominently with the ground pin inner hand showing us that we've got authority of the aircraft and we can commence taxi giving us a little wave waving us off and that is push back complete little memo at the very top saying have a good trip this next section of the video is going to focus on how the arrival systems within gsx works so we've got a number of options we can open up the gsx menu and we can find um basically where we want to park we'll go for left parking and we can go ahead and click through the different ramp options to find the parking space for us let's go to lima141 so we've selected that gate is where we basically want to park if we're on vatsim we can select that specifically uh based upon what the controller gives us now three options just walk me there we'll just take the airplane straight to the stand so skip all of the taxi you can request a follow me card by clicking yes or you can click no for this we'll click yes we want to see the follow me car and basically we're going to wait for it handling by menzies on the top again and we'll pop back into the aircraft and wait for the big yellow truck to arrive uh if we're on vatsim folks the follow me car is most likely not something we want to use at big airports or complex airports and that's because a taxi route given to us by a batsman controller might be completely different to that of the follow me car route if we're at a very small airport like al maria for example where they do use follow me cars all the time but there's only five or six stands and only one main taxiway route in and out perfect it's a great opportunity to enjoy it here comes the follow me car now zooming into the uh distance it's so quick you imagine the tyres screeching right here we are so as we get closer it begins to move and it will try and match the speed of the aircraft and also try to match uh a kind of like like an elastic band a rough range to give us that's going to drive away at about 18 knots and we can try and keep up if it's too quick and in this instance it is a bit what we can do is set it to slow down inside the menu of gsx we're going to follow its routing around the taxiways keeping an eye on where it's going basically is it's giving us our routing the way to the stand that we've selected now in gsx settings we can drop the follow me car speed down to say 12 knots and we'll hit apply and all of a sudden it's slowed right down and actually we're now able to gain on it ever so slightly on these straights so 10 to 12 knots is probably a good one a good speed and this is a nice distance as well because we can see the turns are coming up and it's taken us to the stand 141 left so around we go and now we can see a marshaller in position ready to receive us and we're going to try and follow their directions so international standards for marshalling indicating us to turn left more and now it's indicating us first to go straight we'll see how accurate this is wanting us to go right and now she's indicating us to stop that's the indication for engine cut and there we have it nice and easy little bow at the end now you can see in this instance actually the marshaller wasn't particularly helpful or accurate the stop bars are all the way over here and that's something you can edit inside the 3d editor within the gsx settings and it's something to bear in mind but that's it folks uh what we can do now is think about debording the aircraft so we can trigger gsx and we can request deboarding once more i'd say a whistle stop tour but it's quite a long video really because there's a lot to gsx if you're having issues with installation like i did then look at your firewall settings look at your antivirus settings and try uninstalling gsx entirely restarting your computer and reinstalling it make sure you've got your v distributables and things like that all installed correctly and up to date if you get problems with gsx whilst you're using it in the sim all you need to do is head to your system tray and restart the coo atl folder or file inside the system tray you right click it click restart and then you will be able to after a couple of minutes while it reloads the cash click back in and continue where you left off ideally hope you found the gsx video useful today share your thoughts in the comments below your tips and tricks perhaps using gsx but specific to various different aircraft in the sim and if you're experiencing some problems and you found a fix then do share it with the community as well in the meantime as always thank you very much for watching make sure you hit like and subscribe down below share your thoughts in the comments below and i hope to see you very soon for a live stream in the very near future take care i'll see you soon [Music] you
