i'm a former visa officer and let's talk about those grumpy visa officers today it's true a lot of them are going to be in a bad mood they might be grumpy they might be impatient they might be impolite not all of them are going to be full of sunshine like me unfortunately that's just what you have to deal with customer service is not something that they focus on in their job there isn't really a feedback system that forces them to provide polite kind timely patient service to their customers who are the visa applicants but we still need to get our visas issued and so you have to ignore the mood that you might find your visa officer in they may be grumpy they may be current they may cut you off you need to stick to your plan though don't let their attitude affect the way that you're going to interact with them right they may be impolite don't be implied back they may be impatient don't be impatient they may be straight up rude don't be rude back to them because we're there to achieve a goal and the goal is to get our visa issued so ignore whatever mood you find that visa officer in and stick to your plan stick to your preparation you will know your highlights if you follow us you know that we talk about highlights and weaknesses that you need to know and address in your interview stick to your highlights stick to your strategy know what it is that you want to present in that visa interview and then stick with it don't be deterred don't be put off if they're being if they're not treating you the way that you want to be treated or if they cut you off just stick to that strategy and you're going to still maximize your chances because while they're grumpy there are reasons and i'll tell you the reasons they have a lot of pressure on them their managers are making them go very fast through those visa interviews two minutes three minutes max they're not spending much time on each visa applicant and so they're trying to move quickly right they're not trying to be rude they're trying to say no no i've got to move to the next one i can't listen to all this this information you're giving me i need i need the most important pieces of information and then i need to move on right so you can help them you can facilitate that for them by giving them that information that says yes i will be a good visa holder give them that information satisfy their need for moving quickly through those interviews and you're helping them do their job now while they're while they're impatient while they're impolite while they sometimes may be straight up rude i can assure you having worked with hundreds of visa officers in my career and now at argo my network of 25 visa officers have all the same experience and same opinion the visa officers are trying to do their job correctly they are trying to identify who's going to be a good visa applicant who's going to be a bad visa applicant they're trying to make those decisions correctly right so their attitude and their grumpiness is separate from the fact that they are trying to do their job professionally okay so don't be deterred don't think that oh the officer's in a bad mood the officer's grumpy i don't have a chance you do still have a chance maybe they don't even look at you they just look off to the side at their at their computer screen that's just efficiency and bad customer service but they're doing it for efficiency's sake okay so know that it's still in your control to affect the outcome of that visa interview don't give up don't give in to thinking oh no they're they're in a bad mood there's nothing i can do i'm done for that's not how it is the most grumpy visa officer may have the highest approval rate of their visa section right the grumpiness does not necessarily correlate to them being anti-issuing visas know what your highlights are come to us subscribe go to our website argovisa.com learn about what we can do for you we can help you maximize those chances of passing your visa interview [Music] you
