this is greg davies i am this is Alex horn yeah he is a taskmaster and the host of the show and I'm his assistant lovely assistant it is also the creator of taskmaster but we don't mention that you know I've had in my contract that we do no employment I'm the taskmaster [Music] is my idea i I story is my colleague and I came up with my own award scheme the next year and again made a film with Alex eight years ago and in this but an idea some blokes idea to a TV thing with thankfully the UK TV and Dave picked us up and now three years later it's quite bizarre three years later an hour and a 67 Series paint the best rainbow scene you may not open the lab door until the task is complete you have ten minute or time starts now we're on this yes please I can't see the colors very nice to have the tusks really spelled this show is made up of tasks that filmed on location which and then brought to the studio and examined and pulled apart by Greg and Alex I like to think that Alex does the sort of more tedious part of coming up with the tasks and then I take full ownership offer because I do it's a funny thing and once you get into the role as the taskmaster I do hmm I do imagine that I have set these and I'm angry if they're not done properly she's absolutely ridiculous what is a self-sabotage pull yourself up by the bootstraps give it a go have a go at the show gonna put me up then I am just come up with things who I think Greg and his character would want done that's quite often good we're figuring one done next spread your clothes as far and wide as possible at your own expense so I just dumped me clothes what's at this guard but whatever I [Music] originally hired the team that kind of put the team together and then it kind of assemble everyone lay the show down and try to work out how to put it into a format and well speak with Alex who comes up with most of it and kind of work out what's doable what isn't not supportable what isn't while work on camera what won't how to make it look good it is unscripted so even though we know this off you know we know the task and you know sort of generally where it's going ahead maybe the crew will follow the comedian like whatever they decide to do complete their task and each each person sort of execution the tasks will be a different story and then it's kind of up to me to tell the story I'm not necessarily not necessarily cutting it to make it more funny but I'm just need to so need to tell the narrative which is ultimately funny clarify is the farthest distance meters protein tea back into a mug yeah so it doesn't necessarily mean horizontally [Music] I direct all or the location material and then direct the show and in the studio as well I mean I suppose my main responsibility is to sort of hit the look of the show making sure that's something that stands out and the key thing to it is at creating of the world taskmaster every one of the design goes into that making that world in terms of how the tasks happen and the world in which the tasks happen and how the relationship between all the different people work I think that's the main thing to actually create and maintain that world tree wizard back from the dead to create some balloons tree wizard hands together he creates a balloon tree wizard has to make sure he double check the balloon tree with oh my god it's another balloon tree wizard how many times will you check the balloon magico hands and holy it's another balloon tree with the takes position what is he gonna do tree withered flies up to his tree and wave goodbye tree without trees with God so now into Series six you just trying to make is fresh still always possible pretties quite hard to do but you don't want if you feel like anything's formulaic then we scrap it off and try and come up with something else yeah I'd say luckily it's still show where you're not scrabbling around for material because we show things that happen which are funny and then you're reacting to it so it's a lesser amount than it might be there's always a there's always another task it does drink yeah this is day four or five yeah so we are at the end of my energy levels it's still a combination of there's people who asked you to do it and as people we're asking to do it there's still a couple yeah we would love to do it yeah I think I I think the message has got out there there's people aren't willfully humiliated on taskmaster I think that was a concern at first some people thought they were cooled off yeah persuading the first cast Frank Skinner to do it to do an unknown show where you can't see a script and there is no script you just gotta trust us that that was a big step him agreeing to do it was a big moment I have to say when I picture the others I don't see them getting this kind of distance some will kept the first 45 minutes realize and it's better if they're wet just realize I should probably wet them I think but we're just it's dangling show yeah it was great it's a gang sure were funny people can be funny yeah and you can get college be [Music] this is probably the busiest part of my day this is making sure that everybody following rehearsal starts to get ready in their clothes and just negotiate with makeup when they're free to have the next person in and negotiate that sound and make sure that they were getting liked us so that we hit the record time which today is 4:30 so with any luck within 10 minutes we'll be getting ready to go I just combined here backstage Charles Bronson having a really great time we're just discussing the fact I'm a bit behind on my washing soaring flight socks and is it alright is it is it so dangerous ones half the world my source [Music] and laugh on set all the time you know to the point where she interferes with something camera work it's an amazingly fun show to do because I like making pretty pictures and doing silly things making things funny so all those things feed into this kind of show I always say the same one it was to impress on their 40202 pose like the open-ended nature of some of them where where the response is almost 100% coming from them because we haven't given them yeah Alex wasn't giving them it's particularly prescriptive train tracks to follow so to impress a man obviously you can do whatever you want and I love the response [Applause] [Music] yes thank you very much done thank you till next time I'm an abscess similarly there was one in the last series which was give give me a special cuddle which resulted in Bob Waterman popping me in the boot of his car I mean the Bob Mortimer just having a cuddle in the boobers car wishes that's the moment and it's my favorite quote from the show because Bob actually said that some point he'd always been looking for a reason to get into the boot of his car which is the whole nother narrative we didn't really explore yeah doesn't need explorer surprise you needed permission a reason yes yeah other yes what would you like to shut the bootleg Bob yes [Music] spaghetti a Caesar salad I imagine this away [Music] [Music]
