[Music] good morning foodies we are recovering from a long day on the ocean yesterday we did a tour a couple islands we had some pistachio butter which is the most amazing thing you'll ever try we're going to grab some breakfast here we grabbed what is it called so this is it's bugattico it means place that serves bugatti so they serve a cheese bugatta akashi bugatta and a ton of other pies so we grabbed the cheese bugatti with um honey we grabbed a sausage uh pie and a cheese pie so these guys are the best in athens as far as i'm concerned they make one of the best pies you can grab especially the crate and cheese bugatti i'm trying some sausage pie first their pastries are just so good got my frappe from coffee island it's like the perfect breakfast who wants eggs and bacon when you have this i know people will say they'd rather eggs and bacon but they're wrong and then we have our cheese bugatti with honey poured over the top look at that so good [Music] the custard one is nice but it's sweet and i like it more of a dessert but that cheese one for breakfast anything else and then we have a cheese pie look at that boy let's give it a little bite here flaky that's really good they're hot tasty one thing you'll notice here in athens is people don't get up early so there's not really a breakfast to go get there's a couple places like we showed you before to get you know your your typical breakfast with eggs and um bacon um this place opens like i think they they open early but they only start serving food around eight they're probably right around 80 30. we made a mistake yesterday before we wanted to grab something we went down our cruise and um they were they weren't serving pies at 7 30 in the morning so we were like well that sucks so we grabbed them this morning because i want to have some and they're really good make sure you give them a try [Music] what's up foodies we're here at the ancient olympic stadium this is the original stadium that's been redesigned for the modern olympics back in 1896. um i'm going to take a run on that do my lap around you know experience what it's like to be an an athlete back in the olympics or during the olympics back in this time or even now is that it's not the scale anywhere is it i feel it's bigger going to run around it see what it's like to be an olympian because you know i'm not olympian but let's do it [Music] all right foodies we just finished our track our lap around the track at the ancient was it the ancient olympic stadium and now we are grabbing costas it's a um popular greek uh wrap place here it's used it serves slovakia not euro me so you get scared meat put in here um it's got tomatoes looks like some parsley yogurt onion pretty basic but you know sometimes the basic things are the best things uh the the peanut is really nice and fluffy so i'm kind of excited for this all right let's dive in peter's really fluffy really soft and chewy it's using a greek yogurt not taziki for the filling the tomatoes are really fresh really overall they're really great pita simplistic not overdone you know you get some of the pitas like we showed you before or i've had before they're massive they're like the size of your head this is a you know realistic portion but if you're in that mood to get something big and like a giant pita this is not it this is really full of flavor though sometimes the simplistic flavors of just tomato onion some herbs and yogurt is all you need that price looks really fresh all right guys that's it i'm going to call it here check out costas really good wraps really basic again the lineup outside of it that tells you it's a good place the locals eat there they don't really speak a lot of english but it's easy to order the ashu souvlaki b4 pork two options give it a try we'll see you guys in the next place hey foodies we just uh run away to check out a archaeological site what else we're gonna see shine uh i don't know it's something on a hill check out all the free places it's apparently uh heritage stage european heritage day so all the attractions are free so that's pretty awesome so on our way we're gonna grab chill box just cool off but apparently it's close we'll grab that later in the meantime we grab a greek pretzel which is kulori blurry cool something like that sorry guys i could never ever get this name right but it's essentially a greek pretzel they're like the breakfast thing here people grab them and go they're kind of dense like a pretzel got lots of sesame seeds on the outside really good so it's dense but it's not it's not light and fluffy it's like like a pretzel so it's a bit heavier the recession seeds are nice it's a nice flavor to the uh the bread i should go with some cheese or tzatziki no i really like it's actually really tasty we also got i can't put my bag up shove it back in there put that back in there we also got a mouthful of pretzels a chocolate one this one's really like that's some heft to this like if you can hold this you probably knock someone out with this thing so it looks like it's rolled with chocolate and then put into a spiral i'm gonna do a ring it's really dry it's not lots of chocolate in the middle but let me finish eating it's more like a chocolate croissant but a lot denser like it's really dense it's got like layers of flakiness as you can see here instead of just straight up red it's flaky so it's really heavy though i think i like the other one better i'm going to give this one to shannon because it's got chocolate and his favorite thing and she likes chopped croissants i'm gonna eat this one all right guys i'm gonna head out we'll show you some of the sights excuse me eating while i talk we're gonna enjoy some of the sites do some more guys later [Music] what's up foodies we are here in athens and we are grabbing a treat it is a locumata now if you're ever in athens or greece for that matter you need to get lokumans they're essentially a greek donut covered with the honey syrup and cinnamon that's the basic way to do it but if you're gonna do it you know i've had that a million ways i have a recipe for it somewhere here you can see um easy to make really tasty a little bit different than a traditional donut um but super tasty so if you ever get the athens or grease make sure you get the basic locomata which is just the donut honey and cinnamon you can have some icing sugar on there but we decided to stop at a place called lucumates which make fancy gourmet locomotives so this one is a locomotive stuff with a cherry syrup again very popular in greece it's a sour cherry syrup and then covered with um bueno topping which is what is it the chocolate bar yeah like it's like a kinder egg chocolate mixed together isn't it we kind of made like a semi black forest cake loku mata with the cherry center and a chocolate outside it could be interesting so let's go in and give this guy a try now i'm kind of worried they're probably piping hot oh here we go it's gonna be messy all your cherry went out oh yeah really good it's really crispy the sweet cherry the chocolate sauce on top this is probably one of the best locomotives i've ever had a little bit different from the honey cinnamon kind um really crispy like crunchy look at that let's give it a little bite again so last time we got um we were here already last time we were in athens and we got uh locomotives with um ugaza filling which is like a cream filling um and then we covered with honey and cinnamon and sugar on top those are really amazing but like as you broke open the modest the filling went everywhere and it's so creamy and delicious and sweet but this time i was like let's go something a little different and we tried out the cherry ones which i wish we had to use back in canada because we'd probably make a fortune with the whole shop with these new business idea i think let's make it look what a shop fill them with fill doughnuts sell them at the same heat of calgary look huge yeah so if you're in athens try any place that has locomotives if you want really special ones try lucumates we'll give it to address the all right foodies we just stopped at alexandrino uh in athens it's straight across from the athens uh fish market it's a market of everything i should say not just fish it's me it's the athens big market that's across the street from it pretty big euro let's give it a try this was 250 not bad for this bad boy let's give it a try [Music] it's actually really good [Music] it's gonna pour bureau in here this is yours really um moist uh the pita is really tender and soft it's got some fries in here seasonable fresh tomatoes onions and i think it's just um just yogurt with garlic i don't think there's a cucumber in that it's actually good so it's that good it's smoking up the whole street like look at the smoke coming out like look at the street look how smoky that is that is kind of weird it smells really good here with all that charcoal they cook everything on charcoal in there um except for the euros they're on a little taking spit but when i was watching waiting for my ear to be done they were grilling the meats on and stoking the charcoal pretty cool in there but really fresh really tasty um not notoriously area per se but give it a shot it's better than the ones you will get the course area we had those in there don't get them just go outside the tourist area hear lots of honking get something you know the best place to get a euro is go to a place where they don't speak english or very little and the manga is only in greek you're guaranteed to get the gyro because that's what the locals eat at and we showed you a few of those already so we're going to finish this and see you guys later all right guys we got our chill box uh so it's literally frozen yogurt it's unsweetened but you can put as many toppings than you want on it's done by weights be careful it could add up really quickly this amount costs about 360. um a little pricey for what it is but salted caramel and oreo my kind of jam let's try it out salted caramel tastes a little processed not what i would call salted caramel but the actual yogurt i think i would just eat this plain hmm it's quite refreshing i think just honey on top of this woman better yeah oreo it's gonna win always there's only a few chill boxes in athens but when we were traveling through europe greece there was like one on every corner let me get the athens like oh they want to be everywhere there's like four in the whole city with two in the center and there's one on each end of the outskirts of the city but definitely worth this one's in flakka definitely worth giving a little try a little bit better for you then if you don't put the toppings on it's a little bit better for you than if you wouldn't got a gelato plain frozen yogurt it's going to be high in protein it's going to be high in protein and it's actually really good just as straight up ice cream wishing to get this home all right guys we're going to finish this up before it melts and we'll see you guys in the next place [Music] what's up foodies we're on a hike throughout them still just uh did around the acropolis uh not the actual top we did around the base of it um i didn't know there was around the basement so last time we're here we missed that about this time we were at uh we decided to stop in a place called fresco yogurt so they give you uh yogurt different uh percentages so zero percent two percent ten percent and they give you a choice of topping i'm in the mood for some sour cherry topping which is the most popular uh greek uh topping you can choose there's some traditional walnuts and honey and there's different kinds of other sauces like big um what was it like mandarin different types of options you can try it's yogurt some topping it's pretty basic but when you're walking around the hot summers and sun in greece you want uh something nice and cool nice little treat that's not ice cream this is stuff the greek yogurt's so creamy you can't get better yogurt enough i don't care it's the best those little cherries you got a pet um so warnings be careful there is pits in some of these cherries same cracker tooth we're good to go uh so i think this is a small cosplay two euros and eighty cents 280. um pretty decent deal a little pricey but um it's nice little treat little break from all the gelato places around here give it a try and we'll see you guys at the next place decided to grab a little snack we decided to grab a place called bite box so these are like baked they're almost like profiteroles filled with things so we got um one with sausage cheese grilled cheese peppers and onions and we got a cherry cheesecake which is pretty exciting looking so i can't wait to begin that so as normal let's start with uh dessert first look at that this is gonna be messy it's not a cheesecake basic there's cheesecake inside and it looks like when we were there they were baking them so they're not fried it's a little bit healthier wait for a dessert like look at that look at these guys like so like look at that look that's like oh heaven in your mouth mmm i can definitely get behind this probably one of the best profiteroles i've ever had quickly got so it's like a sour cherry is sour cherry here in greece it's like a preserve it's really popular and really good it looks like that's what we have on this not your typical cherry it's a bit harder but sweet at the same time looks like there's like a shortbread cookie on this this is really good so sausage i don't know what this is what is this hey a cheese dip i'm not sure what gonna dip those you dip them in though i'm gonna dip it in all right so here's our sausage i guess it's almost like a batter more than stuff just in the batter [Music] oh that's good so we got some peppers the cheeses in there the sausage some onion so it's kind of cool how they're making them they have this big machine and they were just dumping them in little spots almost like a waffle maker and they're putting the batter in with the filling i'll take it as a healthy dessert or healthy dinner it's almost like a hot dog like a hot dog into a bowl so we got your peppers onions and sausage or cheese mind-blowing didn't think it was gonna be this good i was kind of like ah i found like some dessert places here in athens are hit or miss like they sound good and you get it you're like eh but bite box definitely worth giving a try when you're in
