[Music] is [Music] well good day my friends we are taking the back roads through the state of new york and today we are crossing off one of my all-time bucket list things that i've wanted to do when i was a kid i went to the book fair and got a book on the baseball hall of fame and i've always wanted to go since and then when i saw a league of their own and dottie goes to the baseball hall of fame at the end of the movie i just i've always wanted to go and today we're making that happen days with jordan the lion begins now oh my gosh we finally arrived i never thought i would ever see this day so here's the class of 2022 jim cat minnie minosa ben fowler and tony oliva too bad they left out and have historically left out quite a few people also down here it shows they also brought in david ortiz gil hodges and buck o'neal no barry bonds no pete rose no roger clemens every year they induct new players into the baseball hall of fame so it's always a big deal people come out from all over the world to see the inductions here it is the home of where only the best of the best make it the trip to cooper's town here they have a memorial plaque that says site of the first national baseball hall of fame induction june 12 1939 attended by grover alexander ty cobb eddie collins walter johnson nap lahoy connie mack babe ruth george sizzler tris speaker honest wagner and cy young nice right away look at that lou gehrig jackie robinson roberto clemente character and courage that's what they call this and the great tycob here they have buck ewing's jersey considered the greatest catcher of the 19th century there is let's go check out the babe ruth stuff look at that oh my god oh my god oh my god here's honest wagner's jersey actually this is a recreation of his locker so they have his hat in there this pirate's jersey with his name on the tag holy cow look at that and his bad one of the greatest hitters of all time here's the abner double date baseball oh my god that's the jersey he wore when he retired i don't have anything to say that's just a moment of greatness right there look at all this stuff they have papers bowling ball with his name on it babe's trophy golf ball from when he hit a hole in one in 1940 on april 11th there's a great story where he met this kid that caddied for him one day and he had such a good game he called the principal of the kid and asked him if he could get out of school to catch for the babe and he let him silver slaughter and babe instructing a school of baseball that was your certificate that you passed signed from him so this locker is his very oh yeah he made a record also that bat is what he hit his 57th and 50th home run with in 1921 that's so cool that was a record setting here from the 1926 world series and then when babe was doing his barnstorming tours and taking baseball to the west past st those cleats were worn by three fingers brown he was known for his 1916 labor day match up against christy matthew said they have them pad for it in here and there's the trophy when connie max hayes finally won a championship philadelphia athletics one of the great all-time managers this bat belongs to ty cobb posted a record 12 batting titles over 24 years he even says his name on [Music] it and then ty cobb spent the last years of his baseball career with the athletics so that was his actual athletics jersey now it's talking here about the new york giants from 1904 to 1913. they won five pennants in a world championship under john mcgraw manager john mcgraw and they have a quote from connie back saying there's only been one manager and his name is john mcgraw and that's his jersey in his old socks there he is and then christy matthewson famed pitcher that's his hat from 1904 when he was on the giants and then that was his favorite glove his wife said she donated and there's his jersey that's what the san francisco giants would have been before they moved very cool display then this is all on the boston red sox tris speaker which we actually went to his grave in texas if you want to look up that vlog here's his jersey one of baseball's greatest all-around players played shallow center field leading to the most career assists of 450 there's his hat and an animal hide commemorative thing from back when they won this series and you can see that there's holes in the cap where they used to attach their sunglasses [Music] and there's his and there's miller huggins he was the manager of the yankees when babe ruth was on there that was his sweater tony lazari it was his jersey and then check this out lou gehrig's cap [Music] there's so much stuff here i couldn't possibly vlog at all i'm just going to show you some of my favorite stuff because it's multiple floors of stuff one of my favorite all-time photos the first inducted class all here tycoon bonus wagner connie mack tris [Music] there's dizzy dean's jersey that's great he had a 31 pitching season and that's one of the jerseys he wore during that season 1934. he was a workhorse that year here's the st louis brown's jersey worn by satchel paige some consider the greatest and oldest pitcher in baseball ever and there's jackie robinson's jersey that's so cool and they have one of his hats from the 1955 world series before brooklyn moved so there's ted williams badnesses on september 14 1951 brown's pitchers satchel paige faced ted williams for the last time paige fooled the boston slugger with a fastball to strike him out angered williams storm back to the dugout and smashed his bat against the railing cracking the barrel just below the signature you can see there it's all cracked up right there that says 15 years later williams used his induction speech to call for paige's admission to the hall of fame leading page's own induction as the hall's first negro leaguer in 1971. congrats satchel page here they're talking about the cleveland indians world series domination in 1948 and it's got bob feller's jersey on the right with his cap right up there it's kind of hard to see even in here but because of the lighting and then bob lemons cap and shirt very cool and an arm warmer made in 1934 by bob feller's mother lena and used by bob in the majors before world war ii that's really cool i never heard about that then we are just in philadelphia talking about richie ashburn this is robin roberts jersey but we have richie ashburn's cleats down here center fielder one of the all-time great mascots gotta love it that is so great that they have this in here and then that new york cap was willie mays wow another one of the all-time greats say hey kid i've never seen that white sox jersey before interesting oh this is all warren spawn warren's glove famed pitcher and his milwaukee braves jersey and then eddie matthews won the award that's over there [Music] willie may's 600th home run bat wow then you'd almost miss it but right here is one of hank aaron's silver slugger awards so this is all for willie mays says in 1966 willie mays hit this ball for his 535th career home run passing jimmy fox for second place on the all-time home run list and then he hit the ball above for a home run the first game of a double header in 1971 moving him past stan muesl for all-time home runs later and then over here his cleats after he passed speaker for the most career put out by an outfielder here they've got one of albert poogles who's still playing one of his jerseys and it's signed showing the influence of the great latin american players johann santana [Applause] and here on the left they have walter alston's jersey retired number 24 with the dodgers it's a great manager known as the quiet man and then here with sandy koufax jersey along with an award sandy one then they have luke rock's jersey over here as well okay i'm seeing some rockford peaches in front of me see here we've got some of the women in professional baseball stuff these are actual costumes used from the movie league of their own of course the rockford costume says this was dottie henson's this was gina davis's from the movie i remember when she gets plowed over at the end by kit and then every scene kenosha comments jersey imagine having to wear this this was one of the women's uniforms for one of the leagues oh wow those are some pretty amazing famous jerseys holy cow that is mickey mantle's jersey and yogi bear's cap roger mayer's jersey from 1961 when he broke babe ruth's 34 year old home run single season record cool old jacket oh they got phil rizzuto's glove so here's another original locker from yankee stadium the original yankee stadium and they have joe dimaggio's jersey in there they presented this to joe when he retired and it was a jersey that he had worn the year before and then they had or they have a ball signed by mickey mantle and this is really cool because it says that it was his final home run of 1956 when he won the triple crown and over here they have mickey mantle's bat from that triple crown season down here you can see ted williams baseball mitt trying to avoid the glare and everything for you his socks his cap and his cleats and then that ball was when he hit for his 1 000th extra base hit and then that baton ball is ted williams 500th home run ball and bat oh over here they have stan musial's locker that's really cool everything wow this hat you have his jersey his last game the scorecard and everything against the reds this seat from the locker and then you can also see they have his leggings and his belt and pants and everything wow that was enos slaughter's jacket and it's crazy he i saw an interview with him and he said he won the batting title one year and when he went to the owner and wanted a raise the guy said why would i give you a raise you were the best hitter on the worst team in baseball here's joe dimaggio's baseball cap and that's joe dimaggio's glove and bat back before they broke a bat every game of course his award and those are joe dimaggio's baseball shoes wow look at this holy crap i can't believe they don't have this more featured this is the last glove and the bronzed cleat of lou gehrig from his last game wow wow oh man that's insane he had the most memorable going away speech ever and that was lou gehrig's license plate they said people all over new york city could distinguish him by his license plate here's a dodger case talking about when they left you can see up there the brooklyn dodgers with the sad clown that was duke snyder's jersey and peewee reese's cleats then we have another yankees lock over here and it's lou gehrig's stuff who cares yankees cap the silver fruit bowl that they gave him on luger day and then his home jersey from his final game and that was actually his locker they have displayed in from yankee stadium then here they have some seats from progressive field which opened in 1994 as jacobs field look at all this crazy stuff all this a stuff cowboy hat and everything richie reggie jackson was on there during that time i believe and then this bat right here is roberto clemente's 3000 hit mat so right here is lou brock's record setting base that he stole for his 105th steal of the season when he broke maury will's record and speaking of people that should be in the hall of fame heroes you know it's crazy he was uh banned from baseball and everything because he lied about betting on his own team and yet now the league is sponsored by bet dsi and all these other betting companies gotta love it so this is rick perlson's bat but this is the bat that caught and fisk hit that game six home run in the 1975 world series against the reds when he was waving the the home run to go fair that was a great moment especially because if you see interviews with pete rose he says oh yeah they were all happy they were celebrating because carlton had that home run but i was happy because i knew we were gonna we were gonna win it the next night we were we had seven games to play and we were gonna have our celebration the next night this is from disco demolition night at white sox park george brett for president oh there's one of chipper jones jerseys and this is talking about tommy john surgery and how it's made careers last longer thanks to frank jobe gary carter's catcher's admit that he set the record for most games caught by a catcher national league and it looks like we have some of the cleats from john smolds pitcher for the uh atlanta groves when he scored his 200th win and this is talking about how the game changed with relievers so they've got goose gossage's jersey right there mike schmidt's baseball bat right there ozzy smith's shoes here's george brett's famous pine tar bat where they argue that the pine tar was too high i'd have to agree sorry george and then it says on their handwritten this is the pine tar bat george brett sir andrew clemens wore this hat when he struck out 20 and that year he was the son young and mvp and then this was dwight gooden's jersey when he set a new record of 276 strikeouts and won the rookie of the year honors fernando mania hideo nomo remember him there's the bat from the natural the wonder boy that's so cool oh yeah the bash brothers and seiko and maguire and that was bo jackson's hat one of the greatest pure athletes ever and that was roberto alomar's jersey when the blue jays won their first world series oh tony gwynn let's see we have in here oh maguire and sosa the home run battle that's the that's the stuff that they don't want to acknowledge now they don't want to let any of these guys in the hall of fame it's like you let it happen and who knows who else was doing it harry kerry that's the year harry kerry would have passed away if they have that on there and there's maguire's back said he hit he wrote on their home runs 66 67 68 69 and 70 from 1998 and then sammy sosa's bat says home run 64 65 and 66 and then this is talking about all the players that were busted or affiliated with the scandal like ryan braun and there's the mitchell report that named all the players or you know accusations you also have raphael palmeiros bat who was accused look at that we've got one of his raider jerseys he was playing two sports at one time that's crazy to see that that's his jersey and then they have george wright from the original cincinnati red stockings like the first team all that stuff that was his bat and then you have one of michael jordan's bats when he played baseball for a while now here in town they have a baseball park that they host the best players all around the world when they're young kids and there's bryce harper playing on that field that's joshua's jersey from the walk off home run for the cardinals when they won the world series oh check this out a red's case with johnny bench's jersey johnny bench day 1983. they've got a jackie robinson doll i've never seen that before wow gabriel bambino smoking tobacco a negro league ball and a couple of johnny bench's awards most valuable player 1970. i think i think that's when that was now we're going third floor here they have historically legendary fans hilda chester from the brooklyn dodgers she had a heart attack which stopped her from doing all the cheering and yelling at us as her first cowbell that was her trademark harry phobe he was a stone mason in ohio as a fixture at crosley field fan lolly hopkins took the train from providence to home games attended braves and red sox games nicknamed megaphone lolly and then that is pearl sandow devoted fan of the minor league atlanta crackers from the 1930s to their final season in 1965 pearl adopted the braves as their new team when the club arrived from milwaukee in 1966. i'm in philadelphia phillies legendary fan says he did the mummer strut his name was yo-yo and that is a yankee stadium ticket booth taken out of the old stadium oh where's this home plate from edmondsfield wow that's really cool wow the last season wow you've got a couple of seats from philadelphia's veterans stadium here they've got a pair of seats from the tiger stadium formerly known as knaven field and brig stadium detroit tigers played there from 1912 to 1999. rally monkey steve garvey and ty cobb ricky henderson fans and when they announce the florida marlins oh this is cool you can plug in different parks and see old parks up here on the screen evans field look at that old pirate display from the stadium i know him i just met him philly fanatic that's awesome he's a great mascot now that i've seen him and everything in action he's great that big spinning thing's from kamisky park and then that 440 is the sign from old tiger stadium and they have a whole section kind of displaying all the souvenirs and the concessions and all the stuff throughout the years the little collectibles take a look at this this turnstile and this section right here those are from polo grounds where the new york giants played that's really cool wow speaking of polo grounds those adorned the seats those nys of polo crowns the grandstands there's a shovel made out of a baseball bat for the inauguration it looks like pitching [Music] from yankee stadium right there that's kind of cool home plate was candlestick park and that is yankee stadium's bat rack this place is amazing this hall of fame is just absolutely incredible and that bench over there says that that was used from 1915 until the braves moved so it would have been from braves field home in boston and then when they moved to milwaukee they switched it up hank aaron chasing the dream really cool if you're in atlanta they kept just the wall that he hit the home run over like out in the parking lot of the old like where the old stadium was right where he would have hit that home run you can actually go visit just the section of the wall it's pretty cool bricks from hank aaron's boyhood home in mobile alabama there's a very young henry aaron here they've got a post from the porch of hank aaron's boyhood home that his parents built themselves this is freaking amazing in this glass tube they have hank aaron's jersey from when he hit number 715 when he broke bieber's home run record he was wearing this at atlanta stadium that's so cool april 8th 1974. oh yeah they probably won't even acknowledge barry bonds i bet then here they actually moved his locker into here look at that how many interviews would he have given there or thought about what kind of a game he was going to have that night sitting there wow i love that they did stuff like this actually moved the whole locker in that's when he won the home run crown that's the bad he hit his 715th home run with that's rogers hornsby's batting trophy look how awesome that is and how amazing lou gehrig's jersey and hat talking about his record number of games played consecutively that's pete rose's exposed hat and it says that he wore this when he broke the record for the most all-time career games played more pete rose i have some of his cleats in here talking about him having the record for the most hits reggie jackson's helmet with the angels it's the batting helmet barry bonds was wearing when he hit his 756 home run there's the back of the hank aaron jersey display at roger clemens war for the toronto blue jays when he posted his 3 000th career strikeout sandy kovacs's sai young award in 1965 struck out 16 batters over 11 innings this first start of the season to reach 383 strikeouts all these hats are nolan ryan hats from no hitters [Music] i love it wow walter johnston's jersey i haven't seen anything of walter johnson yet famous pitcher then this has cy young's 511 career wins showing his cleveland jersey he played for the red sox and cleveland we went to his grave and his museum that's an amazing trip because his museum just has his jerseys like this like not even behind glass you can just touch them and as you can see just countless historical like cleats and bats and different things that happened i know there's somewhere here the dodgers had five consecutive home runs and they collected all those bats for display somewhere so new york yankees trophy number 27. rodriguez's jersey and eddie murray's jersey and over here they have john roush at jersey for being six foot 11. nolan ryan's cap from when he played his 27th season those are ricky henderson's batting gloves for stolen bases um there's roy halliday sadly passed away but the reason they have this on display is because he threw a no-hitter against the reds of course in a playoff game so it says this was a world championship sweater that belonged to st louis pitcher jesse haynes worn in 1927 celebrating the 1926 world series victory we went to jesse haynes grave because it's actually near my hometown in troy ohio my grandpa knew he was buried there and we did a whole vlog just on jesse haynes that's a special white sox jersey from 1917 star spangled banner here's a ball signed by don larson this is one of the balls that he used to throw his perfect game during the world series then here they're talking about the underdog 2021 atlanta braves winning the world series wowing everyone i just kind of like that they have choc peterson's pearls that he wore his grandmother's pearls now in this room they have every team represented by a locker and a memorabilia by current players in every one of them holy cow you have to come see it for yourself this place is amazing but you really need to come see it for yourself there is memorabilia beyond your wildest dreams things that you don't even remember happening or odd things that you do remember happening they probably have something from that game here i mean any kind of crazy thing that happened honestly i was shocked at all the memorabilia they had great job baseball hall of fame and look at all these old hall of famers cap anson george sizzler al spalding over cleveland alexander connie mack look at all those plaques the ultimate reward in baseball siam tris speaker henry lewis garrick and that's really cool they should imagine if you notice they served in the military they also have [Music] they served bob feller jackie robinson honestly you could just look at these all day there's so many of them to read oh wow babe ruth and ted williams wow yeah sure now i found the first class look at this thai cop right in the center babe ruth honest wagner ricky henderson cal ripken tony glenn ken griffey jr randy johnson greg maddox right next to tom glavin and then the new players they just had him sign their blacks here that one kind of says it all doesn't it all these figures you can buy those are great and totem poles i almost feel like i need a totem pole then if you come outside in the courtyard they have a couple of statues looks like it's dedicated to the negro league players kansas city monarch probably satchel paige with that high kick oh this is uh for the girls professional baseball so i was wrong in here brooklyn pitcher johnny padres and his battery down here is roy campanella campy well my friends i
