[Music] hallelujah hallelujah thank you jesus he's been faithful hadn't he he's been good to us he stood by us he's made a way where there seemeth to be no way [Music] what a great god we serve what a mighty god we serve thank you jesus thank you jesus there is none like you and done besides you and we worship you and magnify you and lift you up today for the mighty things that you have done for the great things that you have done on our behalf for the promises that you are still fulfilling which are yea and amen [Applause] thank you jesus [Applause] amen what a god the way making god the prayer answering god the physical healing financial blessing [Music] god that we served [Music] it is there that my strength comes in i am with you i am orchestrating i am moving things give it to me for i am [Music] he is the god that saves he is the god that heals turn it over to him today put it in god's hands today your situation your circumstance [Applause] give it to him today don't leave here today without giving god the opportunity to turn your situation around [Applause] don't walk out of this building today without giving god permission to move on your behalf and to those of you watching by way of the well give god the opportunity to manifest himself alive in your life [Applause] for he is here and he is ready to manifest himself to touch us and to heal us and to restore us in jesus name praise god aren't you glad you came to the nine o'clock service this morning spirit of god has met us here and i'm excited about the word that i believe that he has placed on my heart to deliver unto us and i believe god's going to do great things before we get out of here do encourage you to stay for the 11 o'clock looking forward to what god's doing in the nine o'clock in our evangelistic service but our graduates do deserve honor today so if you would like to we ask and we encourage all of you to stay and honor our graduates of high school and college thank you for being here today i'm going to talk to you this morning about greater things greater things if you have your bibles john 14 12 a very famous scripture that we all know probably all can quote thank you to the worship team for leading us to the throne room today john 14 12. verily verily i say unto you he that believeth on me the works that i do shall he do also and greater works than these shall he do because i go unto my father just want to talk to you for a few moments it's going to maybe go a different route than you may think but greater things greater things and you can be seated i love this scripture jesus prophesying over all of us who are filled with his spirit letting us know that on the inside of us is all power in heaven and in earth living on the inside of each and every one of us who are filled with his spirit evidence and speaking in other tongues living on the inside of us is the ability to do everything he did and i do not say that uh trying to boast certainly not trying to be sacrilegious in any way but we have the ability to do everything jesus did because he said so when we preach this scripture john 14 and 12 we preach it from the standpoint that we have the opportunity to take part in and to maybe help cause miracles and signs and wonders to take place when we as preachers preach john 14 12 we will also probably link it with mark 16 17-18 and these signs shall follow them that believe in my name they shall cast out devils speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover things that jesus accomplished in his ministry we too can accomplish those things all of that is very true and very powerful and i pray today that the gifts of the spirit operate as has already taken place and i pray that the gifts of the spirit manifest himself in your life and that we would allow the gifts of the spirit to flow before we leave here today but i'm not preaching john 14 just from the standpoint of i believe we can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover which i do believe that and i hope that takes place in this service but i'm here this morning trying to build my faith and trying to build your faith so that the mountain of despair and the mountain of impossibility that is in front of you does not destroy you because we are all probably facing some mountain that is in front of us there is something that is standing before each and every one of us that may seem insurmountable may seem too big may seem too difficult john 16 33 jesus speaking once again these things that i have spoken unto you that you might have peace in the world you shall have tribulation but be of good cheer i have overcome the world thank goodness that he ends that verse with be of good cheer i've overcome the world because there's not a whole lot to cheer about when he tells you you shall have tribulation there are times in our life where it can feel as if the tribulation that we are guaranteed to face shall have tribulation it can feel sometimes as if that tribulation is insurmountable it can feel like that it is uh similar to an impassable mountain it can feel too big it can feel too great it can feel too high it can feel too wide it can feel too difficult an impassable impossible mountain before each and every one of us that so easily can cause us to be in despair and be depressed there are far more mountains in the world yet to be summoned than those that have already been conquered in fact there's really no way that they can put a number on which ones have been climbed and which ones haven't been climbed because the fact is we just don't know there's too many out there and there's too many in remote places and they can't really put a number on it but it's the highest of these unclimbed mountains that get all the publicity of having not yet been conquered conquered gangkar punsam 24 840 feet on the bhutan china border is believed to be the tallest mountain not yet to be summited the reason it has not been summoned yet isn't because maybe it is too difficult although it may be but it is illegal to climb this mountain made illegal by bhutan's government to climb any mountain over 20 000 feet due to their religious and spiritual beliefs they believe that their deities live in the top of those mountains that's one mountain that gets a lot of uh publicity about not being summited yet because it is illegal to do so much 24 449 feet in the hunza valley in pakistan is the highest mountain in the world yet to be climbed where it is legal to do so the only reason it has not been summited is because it's just too remote it's just too hard to get there it's too difficult to get the supplies where you need them and you just can't climb it it's deering moments like these where we look at maybe a gengar punxsum that is in our path or a mutus that is in our path and it seems like they are inconquerable it seems like they are insurmountable and it is in these moments where these mounds that are too high too big too difficult to climb may be too remote maybe it's outside factors that are not allowing us to climb our mountain as maybe a government with bhutan it's during these moments that these mountains are before us where our faith must rise above the mountain jesus tells us in mark chapter 11 verse 23 verily i say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain be thou removed and cast on the sea and you shall not doubt it in his heart but shall believe those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith that's a powerful scripture and we're going to get back to that scripture momentarily but let's put this scripture into a little better context and so let's go back a few verses mark chapter 11 12 through 14. and on the morrow when they were come from bethany he was hungry this is jesus speaking the triumphal entry has just taken place the day before they went back to bethany to spend the night he's headed back to jerusalem once again and the temple cleansing is in the not too distant future if he knew what was about to come many people may say that jesus was hangry instead of hungry seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves he came if happily he might find anything there on and when it when he came to it he found nothing but leaves for the time of figs was not yet and jesus answered and said unto it no man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever very important and his disciples heard it this don't have to dive real deep into this this is for a different message different time but the reason that jesus of course is cursing this fig tree is because it showed leaves like it had fruit but yet it had no fruit this is a uh typology or a symbolism of israel a little bit deeper israel's leaders who talked the talk but didn't walk the walk this is a foreshadowing i believe you may can find another one and i'm i may be wrong pastor got up a couple a week ago and said i'll give you a million dollars if you can show me uh anywhere in the bible where someone was baptized in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost and let me save you some time you cannot find that so don't go looking for it i'm maybe not confident enough to make that same boast pastor but i think i'm right this is the only destructive miracle in jesus's ministry it's a stark reminder that he's still the god of the old testament and the god of the new testament in the new testament jesus manifesting himself god almighty being manifested as jesus christ is a is a god of miracles jesus of miracles of healing of restoration of blessing of casting out and doing good but it's a stark reminder that that lamb will become a lion at some point again in the not too distant future his grace and his mercy that we extend so far and i'm so thankful for it and we need to extend it as far as we can but the lion is going to show up again at some point and he's going to judge the whole world [Applause] this is a foreshadowing of that foreshadowing that at some point he is going to judge harshly those that talked it but didn't walk it and so he curses this fig tree and his disciples hear it goes on to do the temple cleansing leaves jerusalem at night they spend the night somewhere that evening and mark 11 20 through 26 and in the morning the next day some 24 hours later as they passed by they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots that's where it began and peter calling to remembrance saith unto him master behold the fig tree which thou cursed is withered away what has peter and the other disciples so shocked here isn't the miracle in and of itself this is at the end of jesus ministry we're just a few days removed from the cross here they've seen three and a half years of some astonishing things they've seen somebody walk on water they've seen people who weren't breathing start breathing again they've seen people who couldn't walk start to walk people who couldn't see start to see people who couldn't hear start to hear they've seen people who were full of demons and devils have their life completely turned around so it's not the miracle in and of itself that is so shocking to them but when you parallel this story with matthew chapter 21 the same story being told if you believe he cursed the same fig trees or uh same fig tree some people believe it's a different tree altogether i don't believe that but when you pair matthew 21 with mark 11 the thing that was so shocking to the disciples is the expediency with which this miracle took place what caught their attention was this tree that you cursed yesterday has already dried up completely you see when jesus spoke to that tree they maybe couldn't see it they didn't understand that at that very moment those roots beneath the ground that they could not see begin to dry up there is things that god is doing on our in our life right now that maybe you can't see it and maybe you can't feel it but your miracle is already in the works your miracle is already beginning to take place it may be under the ground somewhere that you don't see but those roots begin to dry up the moment that jesus cursed it but what had them so shocked is the expediency with which it went from the roots to the leaves and the tree completely withered away look at matthew chapter 21 it was an immediate thing i believe matthew was just giving a quick overview of the story and mark does it a little bit more in detail it was the uh immediate uh that this took place how quickly that it took place that astonished them let's look back at when the hurricane took place last last uh late summer early fall out at our hunting lease there was trees down everywhere trees been uprooted everywhere limbs had broken off when you looked at some of those trees that had been completely uprooted their roots weren't even in the ground anymore it took weeks sometimes a really big tree it took months for those leaves to completely dry up it wasn't the miracle in and of itself that jesus had spoke to this tree i'm sure they expected it to happen because they had already seen miracles that the books of the world cannot contain they weren't shocked about the miracle what had them so shocked is this is a miracle that should have taken some time this is a miracle where it should have been a process and it should have taken place slowly what shocked them was the fact that it happened at a moment's notice it happened quickly matthew says it was an immediate miracle that took place it wasn't the miracle that had them astounded it was the fact that when jesus decided to work it could happen immediately it could take place at a moment's notice jesus could heal your body right now jesus could set you free right now why wait till tomorrow why wait till next week why wait till next month jesus could heal you save you deliver you bless you at a moment's notice it could be immediate it was the speed of the miracle that caught the disciples attention not the miracle in hope itself had already seen it all they had already seen so many miracles that the books of the world can't contain it but this was a miracle that they thought was going to take some time and jesus showed them i can do things instantly [Applause] jesus answered them peter said how how does this how did this take place i like that jesus answered and said unto them and didn't just say unto him peter was just the only one brave enough and bold enough to ask the question but they all had the question because it doesn't say jesus answered him it says jesus answered them have faith have faith unfortunately it doesn't just say or fortunately it doesn't just say have faith it says have faith in god because faith alone is not enough where are we putting our faith because what we put our faith in matters especially in an impossible situation too often we put our faith in faith we put our faith in the faith we will go looking for some type of secret faith we'll go on a journey looking for some sort of big bold faith that will cause miracles to take place we're looking for a faith that is a bigger faith we're looking for a faith that is a grander type of faith we go searching for this secret faith that's out there somewhere instead of just placing what little faith we do have in god so the question is what are we putting our faith into are we putting our faith in this world system are we putting our faith in our government are we putting our faith in the media god i hope not are we putting our faith in doctors lawyers counselors financial consultants professors money status fame fortune where are we putting our faith what are we putting our faith into many of us are putting our faith into many of those things that i just mentioned and let me be very clear i'm for most of those things i mentioned i want you to go see whoever you need to see to get help doctors lawyers counselors financial consultants i want you to make as much money as you can not against those things but don't put your faith in it many of us put our faith in those things that i've mentioned them because many of us idolize them like they are god and let me be very frank none of those things i mentioned are god almighty jesus said have faith in god we put a strong emphasis on having faith and then completely lose sight of the one who we're supposed to have our faith put into it's not the faith that holds the power to move your mountain it's god that holds the power to move your mountain in fact jesus said you really don't need a whole lot of faith all you need is a little bitty mustard seed is all you really need that'll do the trick just a little bit of mustard seed but you better have a whole lot of god you don't need a whole lot of faith but you better have a whole lot of god because he's the only one who can get us through this impossible insurmountable too big too great mountain that is in front of us holy god have faith in god don't go on some journey looking for more faith go on a journey looking for more of god and you'll find more faith you want more faith go find more of god and your faith will be increased he continues on have faith in god for verily get back to our scripture and i love this i say unto you that whosoever shall say unto this mountain be thou removed and be thou cast in the sea shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe those things which he saith shall come to pass he shall have whatsoever he saith [Music] whosoever shall say unto this mountain that mountain is probably the mount of olives if i was guessing they're traveling back and forth between bethany and jerusalem we've got to cross the mount of olives to do that so i'm guessing it's a mountain full of trees full of olive trees and he says cast it into the sea greater things this is jesus way of saying it ain't nothing for me to speak to this tree i cursed this fig tree and look at what happened look at this miracle that took place but let me tell you what you have the ability to do you don't have the ability just to speak to one small tree and see a miracle take place he does a complete 180 on them and says you can speak to a mountain of trees you can speak to a mountain and you can say get out of my way get out of my life be removed from me and that mountain will be cast into the sea greater things greater things i know we're impressed by the fig tree being cursed but that didn't impress jesus he said you have the opportunity to move an entire mountain that fig tree ain't nothing that wasn't too difficult for me that's nothing that was an easy miracle you can speak to this whole mountain and it has to listen to your voice greater things greater things therefore jesus begins to connect some things therefore i say unto you what things soever ye desire when ye pray he begins to connect faith with prayer if we want to see our mountains moved and cast into the sea we've got to have faith in god and we better have relationship with god communication and relationship with god is so very important i encourage all of us including myself don't use god like the only time that he's relevant in our life is when we need something have relationship with him not only have faith in him but have relationship with him pastor preached about it wednesday night so i won't belabor the point he did a tremendous job he preached on wednesday night the power of prayer if you haven't heard it go back and listen to all of re-digging the wells part one two and three part three was on redigging the well of prayer too often prayer is just a convenience for us and not a lifestyle muslims pray five times a day lifestyles jews pray three times a day lifestyle you're lucky if you can find a christian who prays five times a week it's a convenience it's a convenience just run to our savior when we need him these things these things these mountain moving experiences cometh not but by prayer and fasting prayer and sacrifice have faith in god have relationship with god believe that ye receive them and you shall have them and when ye stand praying continue praying continue having faith in god this is difficult here folks forgive if you have ought against any that your father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses but if you do not forgive neither will your father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses you can come to the music i'm winding down have faith in god have relationship with god how is your spirit maybe our mountains have never been removed because our disdain for someone else is so great if we have never forgiven somebody if we've never gotten things that are in our spirit out if we have anger jealousy envy or strife towards anybody there's no miracle coming your way if we can't get over some of our hatred and envy and strife and jealousy bitterness towards other people what maybe they have what maybe they aren't going through when we are going through so much something they said something they did something they caused in our life in fact and in luke you can find a very similar story to what i preached here today where jesus says offenses will come they will come and then he talks about a sycamine tree that can be removed and cast into the sea because they had they had said this seems impossible how can we forgive people who have offended us increase our faith and it wasn't really the faith that they needed increased it was their belief in trust in god and it was the spirit on the inside of them with which maybe they were holding grudges towards someone else have faith in god have relationship with god and check your relationship with others if we want our mountain to be removed and cast into the sea those three things are a must having faith in god may come relatively easy there may be many of us that have tremendous communication with god in relationship with god but that last one that one's tough i can admit it and hopefully you can admit it that getting our spirits right with someone else can be very difficult so as we all stand together today i want to see your mountain removed i know you want to see your mountain removed mountain of a physical burden mental burden spiritual burden looking for a financial blessing or a physical healing or an answer to a prayer that maybe you've been praying for a long long time the immediate miracle worker is here i believe it can immediately take place on your behalf today but there are three very very important things that we got to make sure we got right better make sure that we have however much faith we have whatever measure that has been given unto you make sure that's placed in the right spot which is in god almighty better make sure that we've prayed up and have communication with god and we're not just using him as a convenience but as a lifestyle we communicate with him and if we have ought towards anybody if we have disdain towards anybody if we have bitterness towards anybody we better search that out we better search deep and long inside our heart and find out if there's anybody that we have ought against and ask for forgiveness ask [Music] that you could begin to make some things right with those people because i want to see your mountain removed and i know you want your mountain removed and for that to take place we have to get some things right with other people so if you need your mountain removed this morning the miracle worker is here it's already been spoken [Music] had another word go forth that came to me personally the miracle is here the glory of god is here virtue is here healing virtue is here why don't you come get some things right [Music] before we start asking for the miracle before we start asking for the immediate turnaround why don't we step out boldly and get some other things right first why don't we check and see where our faith has been placed why don't we come get our relationship with god right why don't we come get our relationship with others right if you're not comfortable coming all the way to the front if you'd like to come to the second aisle if you'd like to come to the rail in the balcony or if you'd like to just stay in your seats we understand but there's an immediate miracle that can take place because when jesus is ready to operate he can do it in a moment's notice but there's some other keys that we got to get right first where is your faith place this morning what's your relationship with god look like this morning how long has it been since you've had a conversation with god how long has it been since you've gotten a situation right with your brother or your sister [Music] i would encourage you this morning if there's somebody in this room that you have ought against you make that your way to that individual you ask for forgiveness and you get that relationship right because i want to see your mountain of despair removed i want to see this insurmountable impossible situation taken out of your life when we get these things right it's not just a little fig tree miracle that can take place but we can speak to entire mountains and see god do a mighty word if you've never repented of your sins we ask you kindly come down and repent of your sins get yourself right with almighty god come get baptized in jesus name come get filled with the holy ghost evidence is speaking in other tongues to those of you watching by way of the will if you've never repented of your sins if you've never been baptized in his name if you've never been filled with his spirit that's for you we would love to see that take place in your life contact us so that we can pray with you we can join with you and we can see god do mighty things on your behalf
