GOW Ragnarok's Platinum On The HARDEST Difficulty Is BRUTAL

in this video we're going for the platinum trophy for God of War Ragnarok easily one of my most anticipated games of the year I was super excited to dive in and get the Platinum now the Platinum itself isn't actually that hard to get as you can just play the whole game on the easiest difficulty and Breeze right through plus the game has a wide range of accessibility settings for anyone wanting to make it even easier which honestly I think is great for me personally though I wanted to challenge myself and see if I can complete the whole game on the hardest difficulty called give me God of War in this mode enemies hit way harder have way more health and can even upgrade themselves mid fight which basically means they can make themselves even harder to kill right off the bat I will say do not attempt this unless you truly hate yourself like I do wow wow we start the game with Freya attacking Kratos and atreus while they're out in the woods she's still pretty mad about Kratos killing her son in the last game which is understandable I guess after barely escaping Freya we are immediately introduced with the scene of atreyos's wolf fenrir dying we are barely 10 minutes into this game at this point and I have to watch a dog die not cool video game not cool after taking a little Kratos snap we awake and find that atreus has run off into the woods we go off searching for him and after fighting our way through some bad guys we are introduced to our first boss fight of the game where are you oh my God it's a bear oh my God oh my God I'm about to fight a bear for a boss fight holy crap man I can't believe I'm flying a bear right now oh rage mode yep foreign oh my God we're punching a bear we're punching a bear right now big bear attacks big bear attacks oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh get it out of here there once we finally defeat the bear we wrestle it down to the ground and we're about to kill it before it's revealed to us that the bear the whole time was atreus after going through a cut scene with atreus we're actually awarded our very first trophy of the game Grizzly encounter our first trophy of the game after making it back home to our cabin we are visited by Thor and Odin Odin tries to make a deal with Kratos to prevent Ragnarok naturally Kratos refuses as he doesn't trust any God which leads to a fight with Thor himself who is still mad that we killed his sons in the last game man Kratos is really out here just killing people's kids I've heard so much from one boss fight to the other oh my God whoa dude what's the language Thor oh yeah oh I keep getting hit by that slam oh no let's grab me there let's grab me oh you're done Thor you're done Thor never mind oh we go again oh my God it even gave me an end screen no way man this game is wild all right this feels familiar but don't matter holy crap dude it's got three we're in the beginning of the game and this boss has three phases after beating this three-phase boss fight in the beginning of the game by the way we are awarded with our second Trophy and Thor leaves us alone for now address blood dent battle the God of Thunder that was so sick man oh my God after defeating Thor we're finally able to look at our skills and I picked my very first one to unlock which gives me a trophy Thor we needed a new place to stay luckily our old friend sindri the dwarf invites us to stay at his house in between the Realms so that we can hide from Odin while here we finally get to upgrade our gear which gives us another trophy foreign now our plan of action was to find tear the God of War for this realm we know he's being held somewhere in spartalheim so we make our way there while in the area we stumble upon a giant creature that is chained up in the water we kill some bad guys and free the creature which actually leads us to our first side quest trophy of the game making amends oh we freed the the thing I don't know how to say that we freed him you're free little buddy be safe eventually we find ourselves in an underground area where tear is being held captive we meet him for the first time in his cell and help him Escape his prison it turns out tyr wants nothing to do with the upcoming War but he's willing to work with us any other way he can after a visit to Alpine with tear for a main mission we are back at syndry's house where atreus falls asleep and awakens in a mystical land called the Ironwood here he meets a girl named anger Boda who paints portraits of people's fate atreus sees his future and realizes that Kratos his father is prophesized to die atreus is obviously upset but he agrees to help anger Boda with a mission which leads us to another boss fight with anger boda's Grandma a huge giant lady oh God I'm fighting her no way dude oh my God what this chick is huge why are you even here I always beat the crap out of it yeah beat The Cauldron oh don't hurt me oh my God everything's red everything's red oh get your cauldron away from me lady oh oh my God get the candle hit the candle yes get stunned get absolutely stunned yeah yeah all right we got this guys oh my God okay she's trying to step on me lady please lady please yes beat her up beat up The Cauldron here we go Circle this is crazy The Cauldron wow we finally got another trophy we destroyed her cauldron sweets man that boss fight was really cool I like that one a lot after helping anger Boda atreus leaves the Ironwood and ends back up at his old cabin there he meets up with Kratos again we start fighting some enemies when all of a sudden we are attacked by a valkyrie after being the boss battle it's revealed that this Valkyrie is actually Freya she decides to stop fighting us for now as long as we agree to help her break her curse which keeps her stuck in midgard we agree of course and we make our way to vanaheim where freya's home is and also where the source of the curse is dried up Backyard Brawl while in Anaheim we meet freya's brother freyjer who is actually a cool guy and then make our way towards the source of freya's curse turns out the source of the curse is being guarded by this creature called nidhog the only way to get to this source is to fight this creature so after a long battle we finally slay the creature and free Freya from her curse yo wow killing nidhog actually awarded us two different trophies he drops an amulet for us that when we equip gives us a trophy how it started and we also just get the trophy for killing him we also got root of the problem we battled nidhog man crazy this game just getting more wild and wild guys now with freya's curse lifted she was free to travel to any of the nine Realms with no restrictions which means she now has joined our party as a companion with Freya Now by my side I want to explore a bit and upgrade my gear before continuing the main story I explored more of Anaheim and completed the side quest to get a chew toy for this adorable chubby dog thing yeah new friends we got the orb oh my gosh you go on this whole giant quest to find this mysterious orb it and it's just a chew toy then Freya had her own side quests as well in which we had to go to these ancient ruins fight some enemies of course and activate two runes to repair bridge to a hidden area once here Freya uncovers a hidden sword which you can actually use in battle and we get a trophy it was a good day then Frey and I explored around Alpine again to level up a bit and get stronger before continuing the main story we killed a giant Drake No oh yeah yeah sit down monster and we freed a huge jellyfish which gave us another trophy be free we free the half goofers hey yay after completing a couple of main missions where atreus goes to Asgard and Kratos learns of his future from three witches I start exploring around midgard and learn about the Berserkers that exist in this game these Berserker fights last forever especially on the hardest difficulty and there's no mid-fight checkpoint so if you die you gotta start all over again from the beginning eventually I finally beat my first Berserker of the game yes oh my god do me a favor brother need more of these that's one out of twelve oh my God agitate dude I was just fighting that thing for like 10 minutes there's 12 of those oh that's gonna be a nightmare all right well there's 12 of them yeah there's 12 of those things but that's future Tanner's problem for now we cleaned up a couple of extra Side Quests for trophies one where we had to clear out Raider camps for my wolf friends besties and another trophy for completing a side mission for a dwarf in spartalheim Rebel leader Kratos and atreus eventually find themselves in helheim where they have to stop a giant realm destroying wolf named garm this fight was actually pretty cool but honestly it wasn't that hard after a long fight we get a trophy off the leash an atreus transfers the soul of his dead wolf fenrir into garm which means fenrir is alive again thank you video game for bringing back the dead wolf with fenrir alive Kratos and atreus traveled to vanaheim to start Ragnarok by shooting an arrow at the Moon after starting Ragnarok Heimdall confronts us which leads to a super long boss fight seriously I don't know if it was just because of the difficulty setting or I just didn't know what I was doing but I felt like this fight just dragged on you have to use your spear for the most part to be able to even hit him but every hit I was just doing such a small amount of damage eventually though I finally beat him which leads to Kratos killing yet another God comeuppance battle Heimdall oh my god dude that fight was that took so long with Heimdall dead it was time to start preparing for the end of the game to get prepared I crafted the dragon armor set one of the best armor sets in the game and got a trophy then everyone regrouped back at sindri's house to make a plan of action for dealing with Odin in a huge plot twist it turned out that tear the whole time was Odin spying on us and he stabs and kills Brock before fleeing oh my God no dude no no I hate this game oh man our only chance now to stop Odin is to form the creature known as Ragnarok to do this we have to stab surgery in the heart with kratos's blades which kills certer but will allow him to come back as Ragnarok of course while doing so two of Odin's Valkyries try to stop us oh no must have said that oh no this isn't good oh this is not good I'm having flashbacks the original got War M okay oh my God there's more than one phase oh I will not kneel I will kill don't tell me the third base there's a third phase oh oh God did she just kill me one hit no way dude okay it's torture right here okay well that's good I gotta say the checkpoints for the bosses are pretty generous ain't no way there's a fourth face right this gotta be it oh dude this is so cool holy crap it's awesome that right there that image that is a sick image right there that is so cool Better Together yeah stupid Valkyries man that was cool I know I keep saying that but God this game is cool oh man with the Valkyries defeated we meet up with our friends and blow our horn we got from killing Heimdall to Signal the start of Ragnarok we stormed the gates of Asgard killing a ton of enemies along the way and have one last final fight with Thor after the fight Kratos and Thor resolve their differences but Odin steps in and kills Thor leading us to the final boss fight of the main story I honestly didn't expect Odin to be as hard as he was but he definitely kicked my ass oh everything around here well now we're fighting Odin holy crap this guy this guy's fast oh I'm so dead I'm so dead this is so dead dude oh he's so fast I thought Odin be all old crickety what the hell what the hell just happened oh my god oh you started this fight no no no no what is that move he just kicked my ass you got some crazy moves old man some crazy moves here it is no way foreign holy crap man what is that what is that use your arrows come on Ax there we go oh dude this is the sickest thing Ragnarok battle the all father dude from Thor to Odin was like way quicker than I thought it was gonna be I thought it was gonna be like a raggedy old man that dude was flying zip zapping all over the place that was a crazy fight that's a fun fight too cool cool stuff with Ragnarok finish there was nothing left for atreyos and Kratos to do atreus decides he needs to leave to go on his own adventure showing that kratos's job as a father was finished he raised his son to be able to survive on his own after atreus leaves Kratos nose is a drawing on the back of the tablet they were standing by this drawing shows the history of Kratos and at the very end identifies Kratos as a hero of the people the first time Kratos has ever been labeled a hero with that we make our way down the steps and the credits roll the main game is over with with the main story out of the way it was time to basically clean up for the platinum in order to get the Platinum I had to basically 100 every map in the game that means get all the Collectibles and do all the side quests the first thing I did was watch the secret ending which I won't show here for a trophy I then finally maxed out my amulet to have full slots while I was clearing out the maps I got the trophy for fully upgrading my health and rage meters and while in the same area called the crater I had to hunt specific creatures the last one that I need to hunt was this giant Phantom these things you basically have to stun so you can destroy these shrines that are around the battlefield to actually kill them once this particular Phantom was dead I got a trophy I then finished the side mission where I had to find four Stags that were in different Realms and escort them back home once that was finished I found the last of the Collectibles for two separate trophies and completed two Side Quests for two other separate trophies one where I had to collect flowers for Freya and another for returning these worm creatures to a squirrel in a tree this game makes no sense sometimes okay so I gotta be honest up to this point in my playthrough on the harsh difficulty it wasn't really too bad sure I died here and there but even on Main Story Boss Battles there were checkpoints in the fights themselves which meant if I got a boss to half health for most of the fights I just have to start back at that point in the fight it wasn't until I got to these three last trophies and I started to really feel the difficulty setting I was on no no the first of the three was the trophy for completing The Crucible The Crucible is in moosevilleheim and basically in the beginning there are these three giant swords one on the left middle and right of the map each of the swords had two challenges associated with them these challenges range from killing enemies within a time limit avoiding taking damage for a whole fight having to slam enemies into lava pits to kill them or even throwing orbs into portals that enemies dropped when they were killed these initial challenges weren't too bad and once I did all six of them two from each sword I would unlock the harder challenges that eventually led to the trophy these last six challenges were a nightmare for one of them I had to kill 99 enemies without dying which was actually the easiest of the bunch for this one right here I constantly had a boss teleporting and attacking me while he spawned minions and if there were four minions spawned the boss would be invincible and just when you think you're almost done they spawn a second boss that's also Invincible I had to go full sweaty try hard mode to even beat this nonsense the worst challenge for me though by far was this fight in this fight you have to fight a giant Phantom that can pretty much one hit kill you with most of its moves which sucks by itself but every time you weaken it by killing one of its three pillars it spawns enemies to fight you so I'm trying to dodge one-hit kill attacks and trying to fight all these enemies that spawn this was absolutely brutal no [Music] oh my God oh my God that's so hard dude this is damn near impossible oh my God holy crap man this is insane there we go here we go here we go yes yes where the hell is this Phantom at get the hell out of my life oh I feel so good oh my God dude that was absolutely brutal man after the Phantom fight the last round was just a Boss Rush round which I actually really enjoyed with the last round completed I finally got The Crucible Trophy and was one step closer to the Platinum [Music] you're done trials by fire we did it oh we did it [Laughter] yeah yes man now remember when I found out about those 12 Berserkers at the beginning of the video well it was time to kill all of them once you killed 12 of them it would lead to the final fight with the king of the Berserkers I thought Berserker after Berserker after Berserker some of these fights were actually pretty challenging and took multiple tries for some of them though I pretty much beat first try because at this point I had maxed out my armor and level from doing so many side missions yes Another One Bites the Dust these Berserker fights man they're so crazy they're so crazy with all 12 Berserkers down it was time to fight the king Berserker this guy was an absolute nightmare he basically had all the attacks that the previous Berserkers had and he was just Relentless he would kick my ass over and over again oh my God oh everything bad that could happen just did I think I probably fought this guy for at least over an hour before I finally learned his move set and started to make progress against him eventually after a lot of Blood Sweat and Tears I finally beat him are you done now you're done goodbye [Applause] my mind grave mistake you're done King I feel so good now the only thing standing in my way for the platinum trophy was the hardest boss in the game this is the queen of the Valkyries and if you've ever played God of War 2018 then you'll know all about the Valkyries I've come this far for the Platinum I wasn't going to give up now oh I'm so screwed yep just saved my life just saved my life yes I need this health I need this health real bad no oh whoa holy crap what is that move I just gotta Dodge out of the side from that I think oh my God that moves insane no oh my God no no no oh she was one HP she just kept throwing moves at me oh my God I'm so close oh my God so lucky come on come on gotcha now got your number let's go [Music] yes yes come on rip her wings off yo yes but also sad the true Queen we did it the bear in The Wolf the Platinum collected all the trophies on the hardest difficulty oh oh wow I can't we did it guys we got the platinum on the hardest difficulty God of War Ragnarok just so you guys know that I'm telling the truth here's my save I just did my first save give me God of War took me 51 hours 10 minutes of gameplay all right I'm so pumped right now it's three in the morning I didn't think I was gonna be able to get this Platinum today but we did it hell yeah so there it is guys God of War ragnarok's platinum trophy on the hardest difficulty this was actually so much fun Despite All the Rage inducing moments this is one of the most fun platinums I think I've gotten all
