hello everyone welcome to ab creative hi from london it's pretty chilly now in london it's rainy as usual so i made myself a nice cup of tea with lemon and honey and i'm ready for pouring so my plan for today well i was asked by several of you to make some autumn leaves nice autumn colors reds and oranges and gold so that's what i'm going to do today however as usual i was thinking i want to try a different method again i love trying just here for the video trying something completely new so it's exciting for both you and me as well first of all i've got a new box of nice canvas 12x12 tomatoes that's what i'm going to use today there is a link to all the products i use in my description i am using a range of premium acrylic colors by arteza and we've got crimson red yellow ochre gold burnt amber i also have orange by cassart and then two metallics also by arteza this is pearl olive green and gold if you would like to watch the long process of me mixing the paints i suggest watching one of my videos there'll be a link here when you can see all the details however now i'm just very quickly tell you what i use as my pouring medium so my pouring medium is fifty percent of water fifty percent of pva glue i add this mixture to my paint and i would say one third of paint to two-thirds of pouring medium i mix it really really well and then i add a dash of flotrol which consi constitutes perhaps uh ten percent of the mixture twenty percent depends on on my on the type of painting if the mixture is too thick i just spray a bit of water into it and the consistency that's the consistency i call it the runny honey really nice you can see a tiny tiny build up so that's it i'm going to put those little containers underneath my painting just in case the paint drips and if you're wondering oh what kind of cups are these they're really weird these are some old uh covers and lids from various cosmetic products that i constantly reuse i really like them i wash them after each pour i was actually deliberating how to make the the leaves there were several methods i could think of however as usual i'm going to do something that i haven't tried before so it's going to be a nice experiment for me as well i'm going to do it in two stages so the first one will be the pour and then i'll tell you once we finish before what happens next i think i forgot to mention i'm also going to use mars black just for the swipe and i think i'm going to put one or two drops of coconut hair serum into it so just two tiny drops one two that's it now i could have put these colors into a dirty cup but i i actually want some different strands of color so i i put them in order like this i might change my mind in a minute maybe the gold will go somewhere here i'm just going to pour individual colors onto the canvas so let's start quite a lot of red orange if they mix it doesn't matter i might repeat them again as well this is my gold see i like i really like those slits because i can squash them can have a nice spout [Music] well thank you very much for those people who suggested the leaves i do like making leaves anyway using different media but i haven't done pouring leaves before to be honest some of my feathers they look a bit like leaves i want these to be very very different i think it's yellow ochre and this one the brown here and i think i'm going to repeat the colors now so going back i love this gold i absolutely love artisan gold and they've got gold in different shades you can have like a average gold then you have aztec gold then you have yellow gold pale gold absolutely amazing i'm not sure if i want any more brown here probably not let's go with this gold here overlapping some covers just a bit of orange in the middle see the colors are already mixing okay that looks like enough this already looks so autumnly doesn't it you can see some pumpkins here and some red apples just a few leftover green leaves okay so i'm going to tilt it i want the paints to move wow that's an interesting painting trying to cover on the edges i should be wearing gloves but to be honest i like touching paint i actually like painting with my fingers just checking there just now i think these colors look pretty good together even just for painting like this however i'm not changing my mind i'm still going to do the leaves and we are ready for the swipe so for this wipe i'm pouring black just along the edge here hopefully that's enough and i'm going to use a napkin i'm going to spray it first so it's not so dry don't want it completely wet just just moist i've just realized that something awful happened when i was swiping uh the painting down the black paint down i pressed the wrong button and i just lost the footage i am so upset i'm really sorry so it was so nice i'm actually going to recreate it for you on a really small small piece and i'll do a close-up so that you can see how this cells form because it was so so cool so i'm spreading the paint again on this little waterproof paper and i'll use it later on for my jewelry pieces a bit of black and i'm going to spray the tissue with water i'm just touching the black with the tissue down carefully do you see that that's pretty amazing i want you to see some of the cell formation come up close look at all that crazy cells all this spicy latte and pumpkin spice latte that's what it reminds me of amazing colors and this is the end of part one so once it's dry we're going to do something else on it the painting is completely dry now and you can see how beautifully the metallics shimmer i think my favorite part is those black sort of branch looking creations i really like them it looks a bit like tree branches to me so i want to add some more branches i think i'm going to go over some of the black lines and make them more prominent and then i'm planning to do some some leaves the easy option would be to use the posca pens to draw some of the sort of branches going down they're really nice the acrylic paint basically in the marker there's only one problem they kind of once they dry they look more matte than the paint so my other option is just use a very very thin brush and go over some of the black lines with a very thin brush and just my black mixture maybe i'll do both so i'll start with the posca pen and see how that goes might take some time so if you are doing it i suggest some nice music and just relax i think i want them a bit thicker in these places more visible so at the moment i'm just following the lines but i'm also adding some more in the direction that i want it to go i think it will look all right i'm gonna make later on make some sections thicker as well i think it adds some more contrast to it doesn't it and while i'm doing this i'm just thinking what kind of leaves do i want to add i wish you could help me here because i've got i had so many ideas i was thinking of cut outs making another pour attaching it painting well i could always paint the leaves on top of the pore i'm going to try the brush now really thin brush even though i must say that the posca pen works very very well just testing all the possibilities there are some really beautiful cell formations and some lovely lines just going over some of them some more lines here on the red those lines they also look like some root system so cute so firstly i thought about making another paw and then attaching it to the background but then i thought no that would take away from the beautiful colors so no another option i actually made a clay leaf which which is very cute but it's so heavy and again i think too colorful for my background then i was thinking of making some cutouts and i actually made some mock-ups with yellow leaves i think i need a break for a cup of tea i'll come back to you perhaps i'll have a better idea then after a long very needed break i suddenly remembered an old piece of mine it was a fine art piece mixed media piece where i used watercolors tissue paper and some real leaves and i thought yes i think that's the way to go forward these are the cute leaves i found and i dried them under my carpet it took it took a few days and maybe go over them with gold paint just with some highlights and imagine how nice that would look on this background yay so i'm going to paint the green ones with golden i will use golden metallics let's see which gold will be best i've got some really nice iteza metallics that's that's gold but i think they're more oh yes we've got aztec gold perhaps i could use some yellow as well there is a link in my description to all the products that i use if you are interested also it would be great if you could use the affiliate links in the description i get a small commission with each purchase at no extra cost to you and this is a great way for you to support my channel so that's the lightest one just checking which one i like the most i'm sure i'm going to go over again i'll just do probably two layers oh that's a nice one this is the regular gold i'm testing it here but i think i think i'm going to paint the yellow leaves with gold i won't have the green undertones so prominent so let's check the aztec gold oh wow that's a really nice bronze gold so i'll have to wait for the leaf to be completely dry i'm not going to put it on my painting like this i hope you can see the difference between the three golden hues very pretty my leaves are already painted and i mainly used the pearl golden hour and then i just added a hint of the gold in some areas so they look like this i actually painted more than i need and i've decided against the really huge one even though they are really pretty but i think i prefer the smaller ones so they're all they're not glued yet so i'm planning to glue them glue them on i'm going to use my favorite archival pva glue by colal and i'll just paint very carefully underneath of each leaf i'm using quite a soft brush because the leaves are very very well i could have diluted the glue perhaps a bit but i would rather have it thicker and make sure that it adheres properly to the background of my painting i think i'm going to speed up the process because you will be totally bored so i'm going to glue quite a few you know the surface of the leaf is obviously not perfectly smooth therefore i put a bit of a thicker layer and i'm going to put my first leaf very carefully gently tapping down using my blusher to step it down okay one done one two three four five six seven to go i just stuck the baby one putting my hand underneath and pressing because i really want all the edges to be stuck nicely adding different media different textures just i think makes the piece more interesting i don't know what the opinion is and again i'm going to press from underneath make sure there are no air bubbles this glue is completely transparent once it's dry so i'm not too worried i've got a tiny bit on top it'll come off all the leaves are glued now and i must say i'm quite happy with the composition i've got quite a few golden leaves left but i definitely don't want to kill this piece and overload it with leaves i'll just keep them for some other projects i just wanted some kind of like a swipey branches here uh i still haven't finished so once it's all dry i need to add some shadows i might put it this way for the night so then all the leaves perfectly straight and i will complete it tomorrow so this is the last stage of my autumn project i'm going to create some dark areas some shadows with both posca pens and black paint to create some depth and make the leaves pop more and that will be the end it did take me well probably longer than a week because that included drying the leaves waiting for the for the paint to dry as well i hope you liked it as well if you ever make something inspired by my art i would really love to see that so you could uh send a picture to me via instagram and i would share it with my followers you always have to think of a light source when you want to create some shadows whether it's adding tone or just what i'm doing now just some outlines so my source of light is from this side so i even painted the leaves darker gold this is the lighter one this is the darker one so each leaf is a bit darker on this side and i'm just adding a bit of the shadows i don't want to outline all of it i just want to leave some sections darker i don't want those lines to be too perfect so i'm using a tiny bit of water and sort of smudging the sharp lines with my brush creating more natural shadows well officially this piece is finished i'm just going to take you for a close-up however the closer i get the more glare you'll see it's a highly textured piece look at some of the black yeah this angle you don't see the how rich the colors are [Music] well it was a labor of love it took me quite some time well i hope you enjoyed the process so if you
