thrift trader coming back to you with another video today's video is where we start to unbox all of what we found in the qvc hoarder storage unit and let me tell you there is silver in today's video we're just gonna get right into it here we go we're back in the shop after hauling all of that storage unit home it took us we were there until about 11 o'clock last night 12 o'clock we got home at midnight o'clock and i thought out for an hour that's funny that's funny all right guys so today is the day we start really diving deep into these boxes i've got a few of them right here i don't know how many we're gonna get through but i've got several of them pulled off the box truck in here because it's cold outside and i want to work in here and so that's the plan we're gonna dig through some of these boxes all the way to the bottom and show you guys every bit of what we find look at him he's already started so we gotta we're gonna take box after box to that table that i got set up right behind me right here and we're gonna just dig through it box number one out of what we're dubbing the qvc hoarders storage unit so this is uh this says christmas tins and material let's see what we have this right here is very how old do you think this is well it's hard to say it's hard to say but yeah but they don't they hadn't really messed with that stuff in years yeah they did ladies used to do a lot of that back in the 50s yeah well there's a lot of time and effort spent into this thing right here so what is this probably a tablecloth table runner yeah probably okay probably same situation here yeah that looks like a wedding dress to me that is some kind of dress no doubt this is a formal dress fancy frocks by phyllis gearins this right here brand new well i say they're brand new nope too what does that say oh viv and ted okay so these have been used honestly i know people reuse them but i'm just going to toss them in the trash jessica just said we didn't have any lights for the tree these are those bubbles no they're not no i wish they were out of all this christmas stuff you get you didn't have any bubble any lights for your tree uh i don't hold on to that stuff i just kind of get rid of it you think you'd hold back enough to do this is a nice tin yeah there's another nice tin get in there pop off well you can't do all of the bullets here that is a bunch of whatever that is that's a lot of thick fabric let me look at this poster stuff yeah it's upholstery fabric it says it right there upholstery fabric it's heavy heavy yeah stuff that's a lot of it too oh look at these i'm looking at this bj2 they want 15 for this it's handmade who ordered 50 for it i don't know there's a there's a there's i see it i see it you're going to have to hang on [Laughter] look at that that is nice it's just a kitchen kitchen towel and and some towelettes i guess i don't know what you call well they'd just be napkins napkins look at this she was making these i should it free if it doesn't return it was never meant to be if it does love it forever that is some some of that stuff can be worth some money uh guys look we we do have a chest in here oh wow first box sell anything now dude oh there's a whole more a whole nother bag full yeah that's cool you got these guys here which i don't know about the other uh these probably i don't know you're just a lot of up and lo granny had a bunch of these you know what yeah these wooden ones yeah these you know some of these old wooden ones could be worth something yeah but could want to poke around at this point very long i'll celebrate just about oh yeah that's what i intend to do that's there's another christmas tin what's this what's this what is this okay it says christmas streets 2004 collection flower shop you got a lot of these things they bought it from big lots let's see if that's what's actually in it nope wow okay a bunch of cassettes i don't know if there's every time i try to get rid of yeah they did i'll grab this time ago that better be good since i said that box all wrapped up crap that ain't good is it i mean there's no markings on it no probably this place put it i guess yeah oh that this box this box was not handmade it was stamped roast beef what's that say parboiled and steamed roasted steamed roasted packed for product of argentina what wow this is a box of beef it was at one point in time maybe a little bit yellow or a little bit green but there you go that's pretty cool that is cool box number two this says papa's room pillows blankets etc so we're gonna get all the way to the bottom of this three foot tall box child's euro feather pillows these look brand new don't they yeah they sure do tj maxx there's another one i don't think these were ever used to be honest with that one this isn't marked sterling but i wouldn't put it past this guy for this to be sterling so i'll have to double check that it's a nice western belt nonetheless made of top grain leather from somebody this is made in mexico top grain leather and this one's like regular belt this is wrangler uh brute tan wrangler usa and this one might actually be sterling as well here's a blanket ooh wow this looks like uh it's a big one i mean what is it big wolf that'll go on my dollar auction no doubt oh man oh man there's the case where's the where's the thing that goes in what are these boxes i can tell you that oh i sure wish it was in this man got the rifle case but no rifle these are nice yeah zero zone these are walls coveralls we got in here we got some suit jacket that's adam's row this isn't gonna be worth much of anything sherpard again nothing really worth oh i see some goodies there though look at that pop off one at a time here okay look at that ain't that nice i would give you a pity for that thing well i want to see what brand it is cow hand form fit western shirts this thing is vintage boys and girls this is a nice vintage western snapshot that'll go on ebay no doubt i don't know what this thing is there's a k what's that mean and another k is that something goes over a horse uh i don't know that's leather this and this is this looks really old i don't have a clue as long as there's not a third k we're okay yeah you'll have a hood on it doesn't we're all right oh man i was i was that's what kind of came to mind at first you know uh seasons spanner oh that's a suit it is a suit but it's not it's it's johnny carson was that the same johnny carson that did uh tonight show yep oh my goodness i always wondered that what's this one this one is arnold palmer uh and hearst not worth anything take this stuff to salvation army or something yeah i'm probably gonna just this is chartain at sea um i'll probably just put it in one of these big uh these big bins that i sell off my dollar auction fighter glory newport blues these are nothing these are faded glory that's nothing as well unfortunately rustler they're pretty good wrestlers and bustlers nah and then that's it that's it boys and girls that is that's neat right there i'll tell you that yeah i like that so i think the biggest takeaway from this was probably the western shirt and the new pillows oh and the belt buckles box number three this one says mom's something mom something i don't know mom's dishes i think maybe here's dish number one this is a homer laughlin georgian eggshell looks like a gravy boat oh is that a shaker all right it's probably going to be a whole set the the corks stuck inside there another easy enough to replace it stuck inside of it oh these are wrapped together like that because that's easy to break i got it we just did stuff so that's a sugar dish i think maybe it could be that stuff's nice i think we might have a entire set here looks like oh this is oh she creepy oh goodness gracious you got a problem with her she's gonna have to go to i could comment what in the heck okay so this i i know i think i know what this is you set your ball of yarn or something inside there and it either i don't know maybe i don't know creepy stuff that is very creepy i wish there were markings on it but i don't see any see what other creeps we got in here okay got to be careful because these things come up two at a time yeah we got teacups look at this guys is that not cool or what that's a lot of stuff i don't know if anybody's got any interest in china sets these days but the difference is 20 30 years ago people still sat down for formal dinners they don't do that anymore don't know why i'm not sure about this thing i'm gonna have to just set this aside and do something different with it i don't know she's creepy she really is but this stuff as beautiful as it is and as nice as it is and as complete of a set as we have here the unfortunate event is it's just not worth what it used to be worth i saw a set exactly like this just blue rims instead of like this yellow this yellowish tint um it was baby blue tinted and it sold for including shipping fifty dollars and that's just um quite a few probably not quite as many pieces as this but there were quite a few pieces and at the end of the day once you once you pack wrap every single item up individually and get it bubble wrap and boxed up and then slap fragile labels on it and everything you're looking at thirty forty dollars worth of shipping cost and supplies so it's not worth the time so this right here will go into my local dollar auction on facebook and i'm certain that somebody will pick it up and enjoy it before we get into this i've got to say that the owner of the stewart storage unit was a little bit on the older side and so when you see things that say papa's room you know that that was either her dad or her granddad one of the two so we're talking about probably someone who thought his passport is okay as i am yeah so that would found his deal where he graduated save your idea so yeah so there you go 82 years old 83 yeah 82 83 all right so this says papa's room pictures and books if we run across something that is personal we're going to set it to the side and return it to the facility and we'll be skipping through the video when we do run across uh personal stuff okay so just have that in mind it starts off with personal stuff yes it does that's uh that's a personal this is not i don't think he's that old no that's not personal at all it's roy orbison this is all country stuff it looks like uh what's this marty robbins two cassettes okay i'm interested in these books the double day rockets thesaurus and dictionary form so that's gonna be nothing crazy horse crazy horse is there anything special about this book a bison book crazy horse the strange man of the ogallas a biography by mary sanders i'll have to look a little closer at these tapes i just want to make sure we got george jones in here roy orbison emily harris adventure under the sea elvis don williams buddy holly got some good good names in here and there's cds in here too so i'll have to go through this with a fine-tooth comb but most of this is probably going to go through the dollar auction this is a very special box and you guys have not not seen this box because it was still in the inside the storage unit and we didn't open this up till we were loading it up in the truck because it said uh pictures and i just thought well it's just a box full of pictures but we curiosity got me and i opened it up and look at this before we go through the boxes we're going to set these boxes off to the side here and then we're going to go through the rest of the rest of this and then we'll go through the boxes now this whole box here was probably made are you going made in 1954. teddy for grandmother way okay uh i figured it was handmade probably in the shop yeah and it sure was so we're going to set these off to the side we're going to gather through here now again some of this is going to be personal photographs so we will be editing that part out but some of it may or may not be let me see what this is real quick that is personal this is not personal and that is cool man that is really really cool what about this that's neat cool stuff there there's personal photo on the front but inside here these are harry hilton hotel you want some hair pop [Laughter] oh that's cool i don't think it's gold or anything but that's neat it says uh moza mojave 1903 photo by edward s curtis oh wow this is old enough for me to show you that's pretty old and that's a really nice frame look at this my those goodness i know those are old prints probably but you know they're they're neat yeah they are this does not have his name on it look at this guys wow i took it back nothing nothing do you have the idea who it is no that's pretty cool though that is an original photo you can tell that's an old one too it's that that's about the forward is probably second world war pretty neat neat stuff and the last one here is also personal these are really nice frames i might actually take the photos out of the fridge and sell the frames okay so we're done with the box now now we're going to get into the other boxes there's that one this one right here let me see here man hang on we're gonna get really up close and personal with this here we go so in this box here nothing nothing in that box got stuff in this one and stuff in this one let's take a look at this one first nope we gotta hold on to that one let's take a look at this one first okay this is a nice lane hope chest last i checked these little hope chests still go for like a hundred bucks so i don't know what all we've got in here what is this this is something account number note shawnee loan and finance company 1966. don't know what that is alan mills something or other selling students american express i guess he probably needed to spit that what was it left uh you know what well that was a penny in 1970 penny here's these are all from 1970 hey what's that i don't know not much utah beehive state open well who knows what kind of watch you got it looks like an old lg but the cat tops caught off of it it is an elgin this could be gold plate could be gold i'm not sure that's a spot one twentieth ten carat so it's not much it looks that you see those old celluloid pins it's ever sharp ever sharp can you put your lead in there and you turn that and that pushes the lead out so is this celluloid or is it uh well it's i don't know it's less old well it is plastic but i wonder if it's bakelite yeah well that's what i mean i don't know the difference in them what else we got in here guys just twa wait a second i think this might be gold pops check this out yeah it's 10 carat not much but it's 10 karat let me see if i there it is it's missing a stone looks like a ruby maybe inside there so there's 10 karat gold here's more gold this is for sure gold i can tell i don't see a marking so there's more gold for sure anything else in there i don't think so what is that that's sterling dang look at that that's nice look at that how do i catch it drawer a catch it drawer that's too shiny to be gold well it's got a stamp on the back of it hang on oh that's sarah coventry which that's a good brand i'm not saying it ain't worth anything i'm just saying it ain't gold or silver um that coin is something different and this this looks like it might be sterling stamp 708 oh yeah 925 yep that's sterling yep not too shabby pappy these are deep that looks like black onyx and there's hair on it get out of here shoot gross dna dna well that's why there's a whole streaking headlock on the hair down look at that sarah coventry yeah i see it we better put a save a bunch of stinking hair for it's a good question okay and then there's some coins and stuff oh that's a key coins and keys and stuff this was a decent little box we got some gold out of there how about that check this out though this is the winner check this out wow we'll start with this one look at this look at this just the the the craftsmanship in this is marked it's marked j s sterling that's incredible what do you think pops is this pretty jewel right here um it looks like it is also marked i don't think it's 925 though because it's got some discoloration here as you can tell so this one may not be 925 and i think that those costumes i can't imagine those being diamonds i mean they're open back but i can't imagine them being diamonds so there's that this right here is a uh men's ring doesn't quite fit me there you go this is definitely 925 and it is stamped with a c c sterling very nice here's another men's ring this one's uh looks like 925 and copper and this is etched that's not gold no that's got to be sterling and copper really pretty though oh vintage stuff and there's this one this one's definitely 925 there's the marking gorgeous this might be gold i don't know for certain though we'll have to test it and then here's another one look at that price tag 344 dollars on there uh it's mark ht sterling man that's some great craftsmanship incredible and then we've got this big jewel and this thing is just incredible that right there my friends is a huge piece of amber this is marked dj r or dtr it says china 925 which is so strange to me china really don't know but that is definitely genuine stuff pretty incredible well there you have it guys that is the entire uh well a few boxes at least the first few boxes that we really got to look into [Laughter] what i said something so what it is is but it's sticky like pine sticky it's just all over my
