all right so here we go some people asked for it Glock 26 versus the Taurus g2c you may be thinking to yourself why why why well today we're gonna cover the why why why on why we're doing the Glock 26 versus the Taurus g2c2 totally different price points on these guns but you got to think not everybody can afford a five six hundred dollar Glock or HK or whatever some people need to go with like a Taurus alright so that's why we're comparing the two amongst other reasons and we're gonna get into that really quick if you want to support the channel patreon it's more personal it's better all the way around link down below if you want to come over and support the channel so let's go ahead and get started we're gonna go over everything pros and cons shooting the whole gamut here all right I don't have boxes or anything like that but Taurus comes in a cardboard box Glock comes in a hard case Glock comes with three mags three ten round mags the Taurus comes with two twelve round mags all right keep in mind this is a Gen 4 Glock and there is a Gen 5 all right so some features will be different on the Gen 5 alright let's go ahead and get started overall length on the twenty six is six point four two inches the width is one point three inches it is a chunky little gun but kind of like the original king of concealed striker-fired concealed carry height is four point one inches alright with your fat or fat I'm already calling the gun fat with the flat base plate magazine the weight without the mag is around 20 ounces loaded up it's around 26 barrel lengths three point four inches on the taurus six point two inches overall length width is 1.2 so not as fat 5.1 inches and height 22 ounces unloaded alright so you have right at 20 I think this one's actually around 21 and some change I think they lightened up the Gen 5 so I need to I need to check that but I'll make sure I put it in for you guys but 21 points something this one's 22 so so about the same and at three point two inch barrel now side by side slide to slide if we look the Glock is a little bit longer you have more of a beaver tail on the on the Taurus you can see Glock just looks chunkier compared to almost everything and then if we put them on their backs you can see the Taurus is a good inch longer and that pretty much reflects what we have in our in our notes on these things okay but 12 rounds and 10 rounds all right so overall the footprints aren't that much different what about features so one big thing on the Glock 26 is any double stack 9-millimeter magazine will fit just like our 33 round Glock mag it looks ridiculous but it works and if you need 33 rounds that's not a bad option to have so you have mad compatibility across all the platforms at least the double stack platforms all right you can get these guns with different sights I went ahead and I've had this gun for a while now but I changed out to the Trijicon hd's blacked out rear bright orange front dot up there I just don't like the regular Glock sights the texturing on the frame on the Gen 4 they did improve it you do have finger grooves on this version keep in mind the Gen 5 you do not have that political rifling round it off up here so you don't have a spot for a light or a laser like a Picatinny style rail or you know the regular Glock style rail you can't do that on the skin but there are attachments that go up around the trigger guard if you want to do that square it off here so if you like to hook your finger you can do that and I have very high undercut in the frame and really they do they do there Glock doesn't under cuts probably better than anybody if you see right there on the Taurus just to give you an idea it's got a good undercut it's not bad but with this shorter grip you really really like that undercut alright you can get these things anywhere from 5 to 600 bucks just depending on what options you get if you get night sights and all that kind of thing this version does not have an ambidextrous slide stop the Gen 5 does though ok reversible magazine release and what you have back here is you have channels alright so you can take a different back strap pop this pin out put your channel back in there so you can make it bigger if you wanted to and pop the pin back in there and then you have a gap right there a lot of people I like to buy plugs for these things and overall just simple I mean you have your slide serrations all right they're cut really deep but working the gun generally these bigger Glocks I call it bigger but you know in today's world it actually is bigger they're generally pretty easy they don't have super sift stiff Springs or anything some of the models now have front slide serrations so they've made some improvements I like the battlefield gray and I think it looks great on the Taurus a little bit more going on you do have a rail here so you can put certain attachments all right more of a rounded off trigger guard here that is not serrated like your Glock is okay under cut again in the frame now the stippling on these two guns is wildly different you have the pyramid style on the Glock and over here you have this more rough type of finishing but they only have it in the areas you really need it on the front strap back strap and on the sides I love this this style it's it's kind of like p 365 yet it's not all the way around so you have some relief there if you're going to carry this gun it's not going to tear you up kind of like a P 365 or a new M 2.0 will but it keeps the gun locked in your hand I really like that you can see your relief cuts here for your thumb so you have a resting-place pretty similar and your oversized magazine release on the Gen 4 Engine 5s is really really good although on the Gen 4 specifically not as responsive with those mags getting out of there slide stop is very minimal on the Glock over on the taurus a little bit bigger and the mags tend to drop out of course you do have metal mags compared to a polymer with the metal inserts on the Glocks all right so I like the way these tourist mag is just kind of pop out of there upfront no slide serrations but you do have these little cutouts so you can gives you a little bit more to grab onto there slide serrations are more angled forward all right towards the front as opposed to the straight up and down on the Glock these are very similar to like the P 365 they're cut deep angled forward like I said and they just give you a really good bite your hand when you go to charge the gun really low-profile sites and these actually come on the gun and to be honest with you I really like them the dots in the rear seem to be a little bit smaller than that front sight there they pick up really nice I don't have a problem with these sights at all one thing is they're not really ramped so if you have to do a one one-handed reload it's gonna be hard to do it on something like that on the regular Glock sights they they are polymer but you can still kind of do those one handedly reloads even with the stock sights on these of course you really can because these are steel and they have a really nice ramp to them but one thing you have on this gun if you're a fan of safeties I can walk you around all the safeties here how about a manual safety if you like that trigger Dinges safety right there of course it is unloaded how about a loaded chamber indicator just to make sure that you're not completely stupid and then I'm sure there's other safeties around here maybe you can get a muzzle device put it over this make sure you don't shoot accidentally you got to pull that off before you fire the point is this thing is loaded with safeties what I call the lawyers delight but that's just me on the Glock they trust you a little bit more they have internal safeties and make sure it's drop safe and all that kind of stuff you have to pull the trigger in a certain spot and make sure that you're doing it right but they actually trust you no manual safety no no extras to go wrong all right so there's one thing I like but again adjustable sights on this gun I actually do like those slide stop is a little bit bigger and take down notches very similar to the Glock there and then a reversible magazine release as well you can see your cutout there in your magazine all right so two totally different guns and price on this one generally around $200 all right so huge difference here and of course we'll get into that a little bit later as well we'll show you the triggers the weight and all that after the shooting part of the review of course okay so one thing they did do I wanted to update you guys on that is no more tourist security system so no more lockout for your gun that would have been a you wouldn't even been able to use this gun at that point it would have been like safety after safety after safety but they remove that so that is definitely a good thing all right what about a break down here really quick make sure it's clear pull the trigger pull your slide back a little bit pull down on these two tabs slides going to come off on the tours just as easy lock the slide to it well nope this one's the same is that way pull the trigger slide back and then you pull the trigger just like that all right on the Taurus dual captive recoil spring all right looks like a metal guide rod there all right which is nice your barrel kind of has that stainless look alright these guns are dirty I gotta clean them up this one is a board gun from a friend of mine you see a loaded chamber indicator you got a much bigger extractor on the Taurus than you do on the Glock but never had any issues out of the Glock and then a field captive polymer recoil spring on that one there you go all right now we know this design has been copied a lot it's a solid design and much like the Browning 1911 alright it's copied a lot but it works some people do it better than others alright it's a good design like this probably no reason to change with that too much it the operation of the gun so let's put them back together point here being is that you can easily clean these guns and maintain them which is something I got to do all right safety check there we go all right so let's go to the range let's show you how they did there when we come back we'll talk about those triggers we'll show you the triggers will do pros and cons and our overall opinion on each and which one we like more I'm actually going to tell you that here in a little bit we'll see you guys [Applause] all right so hopefully you guys enjoyed that both guns actually did pretty well we shot them side-by-side make sure we got a good feel for how these guns do I've done I've shot this gun a lot so I kind of know how it does but let me show you the trigger here really quick again ding it's on the trigger this trigger does feel heavier we'll test it here in a minute but a little bit of take up a little bit of creep there and it breaks reset what about the pull on it and a little high hold on let's see it at the bottom 5 pounds 14 ounces I think they estimated anywhere from 5 and a half to 6 pounds there you go right right in that area it is serrated as well trigger on the Taurus again Dinges a little bit of take-up I it's got that gritty kind of clunky sound before you get to the wall and it breaks alright once you get to the wall it's actually not bad reset right there it breaks again one cool thing about this gun though let's say you shoot at done go bang restrike capability really nice so actually I think this trigger is lighter and I mean it's a little sloppier 4 pounds 10 ounces try it again 5 pounds 1 ounce so it's lighter and I actually think it's a little bit better even though it's not the best trigger in the world it's still not bad and I think a little better than the Glock actually all right but shooting the guns recoil this gun really does a great job with the recoil and I enjoy shooting this gun mrs. heck shot like shooting it the Glock on the other hand mrs. heck shot does not like and that'll lead us right into cons here the grip for her it's too thick I mean it really it is a thick style grip I mean I don't know another way to say it there's no back strap no extra back strap on this one it's just wide and you know reaching around to the trigger for some people might be an issue it's a very odd grip angle you know you can learn to shoot all these guns I'm not making excuses for any of them but it is just a little bit more natural pointing the gun with the Taurus as opposed to the Glock and I think everybody that shoots Glocks when you first start out you just got to get used to that gripping once you get used to it it's fine just compared to the Taurus I think the Taurus is a is a better shooter in our opinion more cons on the Glock and then won't get to the positive stuff the manufacture manufacture sights suck so that's an extra cost that you're gonna have to incur if you don't like those sights okay and you may love them I don't know you know this is a this a point of controversy is the money so you have a gun that you know for the most part these guns are reliable of course some do have issues like any man-made object but you know this gun is reliable and it's going to go bang but is it too expensive I mean for what you get you do get an extra magazine it does seem like a lot of money I mean there are a lot of guns out there Smith & Wesson comes to mind that are reputable reliable and much cheaper than the sky and compared to the tourist I think it is a little bit overpriced the finish on this gen4 not impressed with it at all we're gonna talk about this on the 43 X review as well I'm just not impressed with their finishes man I'm really not they just they scratch up too easy and a just for a 500 dollar gun I think it's kind of acceptable and as far as the mags actually getting those mags out of there I you know the polymer and polymer I think the the newer ones are a little bit better but they're just kind of poop out of there they don't really pop out the way you'd really like them to but you kind of fling them and get them out of there the best you can other than that I mean you know slide serrations don't like them as much on this gun and the grip texturing is better for concealed carry because it doesn't tear up your skin but not as good at the range as this one all right what about cons on the tourists because this one has it as well the biggest con I've seen on this gun is not actually on the gun it's on the manufacturer because the way they recommend it carrying this gun of course use your best judgment but do you really want to carry a gun without a round in the chamber well Taurus recommends that you carry with a loaded mag and no round in the chamber to me that is horrible advice precious time is lost if you ever have to use your gun in self-defense alright I talked about all that in our review so you can go over and watch that but just too many safeties as well I mean they literally it seems like they don't trust you with this gun I mean there's safety here safety there again you can get a muzzle device probably straight from Taurus as an extra accessory that you probably should buy according to them so you just don't mess up you know of course we're all about being safe with firearms I mean that is the number one thing with firearms of course but you know you the safety is on you the best safety is in between your ears and it just doesn't seem like they trust you with the gun that's just my opinion of course triggers kind of spongy but I think it is actually better than the Glock and overall it's really not a whole lot of cons with the guns max pop out good the grip is great just it's actually really good what about the positives let's go over to the Glock here real quick since everybody thinks I dumped on it these are things I've talked about before by the way but uh all right pros mrs. heck shot wrote this one she actually likes this trigger a little bit better than the grip not too rough again for concealed carry small alright so this gun is smaller than the tourists for consumer can seal carry which is what these guns are primarily aimed at as far as the market they're aimed at this is gonna be much easier to conceal you're talking about over an inch compared to this one much better accessories sights holsters whatever you want for this gun trigger upgrades magazines they're all way more accessible on the Glock than the tours and it's not too busy and I like the fact that Glock trusts you with this gun you don't have a whole lot of going on it's very minimal even though it seems like it's a little bit overpriced for what you get again just my opinion they actually trust you with the gun you know they they understand the safety it's all on the manual of course they couldn't sell these guns I'm sure without those manuals but they actually trust you hey you're gonna carry this gun you're gonna use your head and make sure you keep your booger finger off of the trigger and so you're ready to fire really really respect that especially when I seen the tourist booklet alright but there are a lot of pros on the tours as well we kind of talked about that if you're looking at round count if that's important to you and your willingness soak up that extra inch and cover that up and conceal that then twelve more wrap or two more rounds is gonna be a better thing than the Glock so you see we kind of bounce back and forth there's gives and takes with all of this stuff alright the price this is something almost everybody can afford $200 man and and it's not like this just this one example has been reliable it has for us anyways but there's been multiple examples out there on youtube you can find the videos where these things are just very reliable they're made in the USA which is nice the Glock is made in Austria and not that that means a whole lot but if you american-made gun the Taurus is American made like I said made in Austria they do have a plan in Georgia by the way but so american-made the grip the grip size the way it feels the way of points it's more natural gun at least for both of us all right now to say that the Glock is a bad shooter but this is just more natural and that grip texturing is just fantastic the slide serrations are definitely better I like how they're angled forward they're really wide you get a good bite and personally from the factory I like these sights better than I like the factory sites on the Glock and you don't you know this this is very subjective I mean people are different all the way around but for us these sights are better and you also have restrike capability on this gun whereas on the Glock you do not now here's where it starts to get interesting all right we've talked about all that and some of you guys were thinking yeah you're a Glock eight or blah blah blah blah blah I'm really not I own four of them you know the problem I have it seems like it'd be a clear-cut winner in the Taurus the problem I have is is this horse gonna pave the way for the future and give us a gun that's gonna be reliable a reliable manufacturer because let's all be honest here Taurus has not known at least in their semi-auto line for having the most reliable guns that's why we've pointed out this example and multiple examples of the g2c is very reliable that's the unknown I mean how was this gun gonna hold up in 10-15 years we know how Glocks are gonna pretty much hold up even though that slide finish sucks we know that that gun is going to be around as long as I take care of it for 10 15 20 years no doubt probably longer than that I'll probably be able to pass this gun down to my kids when they're old enough are we gonna be able to say that about the Taurus I don't know you don't know none of us know that's that's where I started to get a little bit iffy here's what I will say and I don't there's a clear-cut winner I just don't because of that what I just said but today right now if I had $500 and I could buy either one I'd go with this one and you might think well that's crazy no it's not you know because I have $200 I had $300 more now I can my holsters I can buy my ammo I can practice a lot with it I can buy frickin you know whatever I want I mean I have 300 extra dollars in a gun that is just as reliable and I think a better shooter the Glock III like Glocks I enjoy them I shoot well with them now but I just think the two compared to each other right now I like the tours now just to kind of further confuse myself and probably you guys as well if we're talking about longevity and a gun that I will trust day in and day out and let's be honest that's what these guns are for concealed carry then I'm going with the Glock if you if you want a gun you have the money and money is not an object whenever it comes to this stuff the Glock is gonna be probably more reliable it's gonna last you longer and it's kind of one of those things you pay for what you get all right today tourists probably would like it better but the Glock I'm gonna trust my life more and it's gonna be a better concealed carry did I confuse you guys I'm confused myself because it's such a hard video to do they're so spread out and pricing that it makes it really difficult but that's just my opinion right now today at least said this moment in time so I want to hear what your opinion is because I know you have one leave me a comment down below and if you are a power patreon look for your name coming up here right after the video thank you guys for watching we'll see you in the next one and as always hold them down I because of my issue so let's try it one more time here [Music] [Music] you
