Girls Conjoined at the Head Doing Well a Year After Separation Surgery

they captured the hearts of the world a ten-month-old conjoined twins successfully separated at Children's Hospital Philadelphia and now a little more than a year and a half later they are thriving we got an update on the Delaney twins to see how they're doing and what's next they are doing so good seems like every week they're doing something new and exciting and just to watch them do that is really fun Heather Riley can't help but smile when talking about her now two-year-old daughters Erin and Abby Aaron loves music anytime music comes on she starts kicking her feet and she gets really excited and Abby is a people person she just loves to sit on somebody's lap and stare at you and if you play with her she will give you the biggest smiles we first introduced you to the girls back in 2017 their condition extremely rare twins joined at the top of their heads the connection extending deep into their brain tissue it took a 30 person team at chop 11 hours to separate them it's almost like a dream now I think back and go I can't believe we made it through that but looking back I would do it all over again to see how happy they are now the girls are getting physical therapy speech therapy music therapy they're working a lot on their gross motor skills and moving and so a little bit delayed when it comes to speech the thing I am looking forward to is for them to walk I can't wait to see them be able to run around with the other kids and not seem like they're any different and as they begin to explore even more of the world around them at their home in North Carolina they always come back here every three to four months back to shop to check in with the team that's now more like family dr. Taylor doctor we're amazing people to the girls it's their heroes like they didn't just you know do this one surgery for them they actually changed their lives and made it so that they can be whoever they want to be instead of just being the conjoined twins
