LIVE: Oakland police on killings of 3 teens

Oakland lost three individuals to gun violence so uh the first incident stem from a shooting that occurred somewhere in the city of Oakland but a young man a 16-year-old young man uh was found in the area of ninth and filber officers responded performed life-saving measures unfortunately the individual uh succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter just a half hour later units received a report of gunfire uh down at 102nd Avenue on International Boulevard responded they found an 18-year-old man who suffering from apparent gunshot wounds uh this young man uh they performed life saving measures he was transported to a local hospital where again unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries while individuals were working that scene uh units were advised of a young man a 17-year- old man who had been transported via private transport to Children's Hospital U this young man also was pronounced deceased there at the hospital uh these incidents marked the 38th 39th and 40th homicides in the city of Oakland this year any idea where we were about this year with homicide we were at 47 at this point last year so we're still down but any uh loss of life is too much and especially to have three young individuals just uh getting a start on life to have their lives taken from them at such an early age just tragic uh we ask that anybody who has any information on this incident uh that they call the homicide section at 510 238 3821 and we know it's still under investigation are any do you think can we put any of these together in any ways shape or form at this point in investigation it does the the two incidents do not appear to be connected uh we believe that the last two individuals were both at 102 International but again just 12 hours into the investigation uh that's all that we have right now is there hopeful there's some video footage out there or just it's a area units are still on the scene right now uh hoping to find uh video footage or even uh possible witnesses to these incidents okay I think we're good thank you so much sir that was a wrap thank you sir I down for that apprciate stand up we're going to go to my office
