all right here we go we have gilbert arenas aka agent zero aka no chill gill aka the black mongoose i wish i would have had that name welcome to vlad tv oh thank you for having me i've been wanting to do this for a long time i appreciate you coming in well it's our first time here i want to get into your whole story so you were born in tampa yes but you grew up in the valley so at what point did you actually move i think i moved twice um it was an experiment at the age of seven you know my uh my dad decided he wanted to be an aspiring actor like most people who come to hollywood okay so uh he decided to quit college and drive me and himself here and uh we landed at burbank park not an apartment the park the actual park the actual park so we lived at the park for like a few months um because he didn't he didn't have enough money to get an apartment wait you were homeless yeah yeah it was over how many how many kids it was just me and him where's your mom uh florida like a venturin off having fun i guess i don't know and your mom was okay with you being homeless in l.a no no no okay so we have to rewind in um while my dad was in college um my mom was raising me and then yeah she disappeared um she disappeared yeah what happened to her i don't know have you seen her since i've seen her once at 19. so that's i only met her 10 19. wait wait wait i mean you hear this with fathers but you don't really hear this with mothers so what what was it was it drugs was it probably probably might okay so my dad tried to have this conversation with me at the age of 24 i guess after the playoffs okay uh we were after we got beat by uh cleveland in the playoffs he was like how come you never asked about your mom and i was like i don't know because all my friends had mothers and i had a father and all they wanted to be around you so i figured i was the golden child so um so i never asked about her growing up but he told me the story and he was like while he was in college she had an affair um or not even fair she was cheating boyfriend girlfriend yeah um she had another kid and then um he got a call and said you want to be a parent because i haven't seen you know my your bm baby mama in about three months so i'm gonna send your child to foster care so he went down to miami picked me up and then that was it that was it raised me from there okay well you know shout out to your dad for stepping up as a father or else you would have gone through the foster system and god knows where he was still i'll still be an nba player you know pretty sure yeah you know i know people go through the foster system yeah i know i mean it's a nightmare you know because it's not like usually one home it's like you know girls i've interviewed who went through the foster system would be like in 30 homes you know i mean like so you just don't know you don't so shout out to your dad man we need more dads like that in the world but then you're homeless in the park in l.a for months yeah living in what a tent or something uh back then they opened up the park for homeless uh-huh and then you know we'll get to sleep on like little beds in there huh yeah it's still kind of dangerous though isn't it i don't know i'm little i'm seven so i don't really so so nothing bad i ever had you know i'm at a park so that's fun for me okay and i got the jungle gym i got the field i got the basketball court yeah and then i guess it was too much pressure for him so he sent me back to um florida and my grandma raised me for about three more years okay and then i came back when he was established great okay so with the basketball did that start at what about what age exactly around 12 okay around 12 you know i was more football and track um and then you know i got my helmet knocked off you know trying to do a quarterback sneak and then um yeah i woke up basketball player okay when you first picked up a basketball were you just a natural or did it take oh no i was sorry as [ __ ] yeah yeah i might be gone that was horrible you know i wasn't i was an athlete yeah you know but basketball was foreign i was just you know i just wanted to hit people and you know just run and then like one of my like one of my best friends now you know it was like one of my enemies it was it was an enemy because like we were playing we were talking trash i didn't know how to play so what ended up happening is when they were doing like tryouts i'm like i'm gonna try out two right and then he was like uh there's like what position you play he was like point guard and i was like was this you play and i looked at him like same position he plays the point the point whatever that is yeah same position i want to play with him i want to play against him and that's that's how it started right because you're 6'4 now so in high school you're how like how tall my freshman year probably like 5 10 5 okay one one ten at the most super skiff that yeah super skinny okay and you know you went to ulysses s grant high school which is actually right around here you know and um but you guys didn't win championships or anything did you no i went to so i went to birmingham first okay which birmingham was like it's like sierra canyon today it was just a loaded program most of the kids that were there came from my dad's basketball park league team which they call themselves the dream team bulls that's how loaded they were so you know you had like david redman um ellis richardson who tried to go straight out of high school in around 96 um and they all went to the same school so that was the reason i went there you know familiar faces but i i made the jv team but that was over from a favor from my dad to the coach okay so then what you transferred to grant yeah because i didn't play nothing i didn't play any minutes okay so you go to grant and you know like i said it's not a superstar team like i see a canyon yeah okay so so you're going to grant mm-hmm and at one point you actually get recruited for the university of arizona your junior year you were getting recruited yes my junior so what ends up happening is after my freshman year i got so pissed off um that the coach said i would never make his varsity team that's how bad i was that so i was like i would never like even my senior year i would never he's like yeah you're just not good which he was he was right like you know some people be like you know when someone tells them something that's true they try to be like yeah i proved him wrong well no technically he was right at that moment in time um but it pissed me off so i trained so hard in the summer and then i tried out for the grand team made that and then the coach howard levine said you're gonna be the first nba player from here and i'm like oh yeah okay yeah whatever and then you know he was like i want to train with you so he he literally just it changed my life wow like you know i had to go to school at six o'clock in the morning train nutrition train lunch train practice and then open up the gym on saturdays and sundays i mean he wow he gave him he was like gave me the keys to the gym so anytime i called and said you know i'm gonna go shoot i don't give a [ __ ] if it was one in the morning he was waking up and opening up the gym for me so you changed your life yeah and what's funny is like just a little jewish guy i don't know nothing about basketball like i mean he doesn't know how to play he knows everything about it and we're just working on moves like me and him just like this is the stuff he's like i've watched this player this is a step back so we're just like actually practicing what a step back is dope no yeah they actually retired your jersey at grand high school right yeah you know i'm i'm gonna be a little cocky on this one um i'm pretty sure that i'm the only player that had two jerseys retired on the same number so so i had i have the the orange one the away and the home jersey both retired there we go i mean during your time in high school were you a good kid or were you getting in trouble and getting mixed up on certain things um i was like dennis diminis okay you know i was um i was a prankster you know i was a jokester like it was i just i'm immature okay yeah but you weren't getting arrested no no no no no no no no no you know in l.a you can get caught up in all that very easily i'm in the valley though you're in the baby that's true very nice you know what's going on here we're gonna go to south central yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah like i'm getting in trouble for like like pulling a fire alarm during testing and you know water balloon fights that was that was wearing hats there you go there you go okay so then you go to arizona so then your sophomore year you actually get to the championship game how did that feel it was it was it's to be honest it wasn't even exciting because there was so much going on you know our coach um his wife died you know bobby olson um [Music] she was like the mother of us so we were you know that was you know that was a big thing going away you know we had to hold our emotions for that um you know you're going through the tournament you know which is supposed to be exciting but you know when you have a destiny in in mind we want to win a championship you don't you don't really process the path you don't you don't you don't really live in the moment you know because all you can see is the finish line so you know getting getting there it was like this is where we're supposed to be you know yeah you guys end up losing the blue devils yeah 82-72 yeah how you know how was that to get to that point and finally lose it that that hurt a lot one because like if you you listen to richard it's my fault um because i got hurt the uh the game before in the final four i tried to run through a screen zack randolph and hudson you know closed the gap on me tore soft tissue in my chest um i ended up getting still in the layup but you know the aftermath you know i couldn't lift my shoulder couldn't move my shoulder you know but it's a championship game so i had to play and i wasn't one of those that were just gonna pass the ball you know like no i'm gonna do what i do this is what i do i shoot so you know what yeah 315 game and we end up losing gotcha and then after that you announce you're going to nba draft okay and richard jefferson actually was going with you as well all five of us left ah so i was the last i was actually the last one so richard jefferson lauren woods michael wright jason gardner all declared i was the last one to declare um i like i'm the best player on the team but you know i don't know what politics do on that level so you know i wanted to ask coach what what should i do um and he was like i do not expect you back you know you're you're better than mike bibby is right now and he's an nba player ah you know he said you might not get drafted where you think you are but just keep with the course okay and i mean was there a reason why you decided to leave at that point as opposed to go the full four years yeah um i i thought about okay if i come back to college who's training me who am i going up against what is the competition you know like am i going to be a better 19 year old going against college kids i'm gonna be a better 92 year old going against nba players so that was really my choice at that point like those are the two choices i'm gonna make like you know going back to college they're going to be scared of me they're going to let me do whatever i want that's not going to better me you know by the time i turn 20 which 20 year old is going to be better in the nba route you know there you go so you go into the draft and you were supposed to be a first round pick but you end up getting picked 31st overall um at a certain point you know while watching the draft are you like oh [ __ ] maybe i'm not gonna get drafted this year like yo the first round is gone and you know there's only 60 slots and the numbers you know keep going and people keep getting you know called out and my name's not on there so was there a level of fear going on there was no fear disappointment um anger not gonna lie like i i really hate the draft process like even today i just think all of them are stupid why is that because it doesn't tell none if you look at just sports anyway what they're doing doesn't tell you who can actually play basketball you know you have the top 20 picks practiced by themselves so you don't even know who's a competitor you don't even know who folds under pressure you don't know who's a gamer who's a one-on-one player all you know is who's great at drill work so because none of those guys actually compete you don't know what's what right so it says in the it said in my bio best one-on-one player in the draft okay i'm the best one-on-one player in the draft and nba is about one-on-one i'm top you know so i you know i killed all my workouts but they had this thing where we don't know if he's a one we don't know if he's a two he's too small for the two you know he doesn't pass enough to be the one you know so i'm sliding right um and just just watching the players like first of all half the people that got drafted first 15 i didn't know who [ __ ] they were like i i really didn't even know i'm like i you know who was the number one draft that year number one was karma brown so he was a high school kid so i so i was part of the high school draft which i was still you know 19 so i'm still young so we had you know that's eddie curry's in that paul gasol um tyson chandler so tyson was the only player i actually knew and i was from my high school days right and ultimately kwame brown really didn't live up to the expectations that a number one draft pick was supposed to live up to if you think about it you have to okay so when it comes to high school you have to you have to grade you have to grade them on a curve you know because i've paid attention to so much basketball like it's you it's the potential yeah so a high school kid a young kid you're getting drafted on potential so when you're saying out of that class he had the most potential out of all those high school kids right so if they redo the draft today and we put ourselves back knowing what we know now he still goes top three okay fair enough you know they'll probably take paul gasol number one maybe zach randolph number two um he still has a better career than the other high school kids like you're talking about like drop deop was in that class you know joe johnson probably go top five yeah you know i'll probably be somewhere around top me and tony parker being there we're guards so we're not gonna be you know first one and grab is always gonna be a big man okay fair enough and i guess your rookie contract was 845 000. oh is that much oh [ __ ] it's not hurt oh is that true i don't remember you don't remember i spent that before the draft so like well you know you think you're gonna go top ten like [ __ ] i'm you know i'm thinking millions you know so i bought an escalade had five tvs in it four twelves had the suede i seen gary payne with suede on the top i want the suede roof so okay you know got the big chain like everybody else you know it's like gja that's when you know everybody had the long chains that went down to you never you know so i had that you know so i spent all of that money right before the taxes even came in yeah before time right so you got traffic by the golden state warriors okay so you get your contract you joined the team and you wore a number zero because i guess uh experts were saying that's the amount of time you would get in the nba so funny that's what experts were saying when i was going to college so experts saying you know because i'm a valley kid you know going to arizona big powerhouse school he's not going to get any minutes there yeah you know so that's why i went from i went well i wanted 25 because i was my high school number but they were retiring steve kerr's jersey so that was the year they opened up zero on one so i was like zero minutes i'm going with zero okay so you actually had a good year uh you know for the warriors uh you know 30 games average 10.9 points per game but that year the warriors finished last place in the western college oh yeah they were sorry [ __ ] yeah yeah they were sorry there you go sorry [ __ ] how did that feel like here you are like gearing up you know to play for the nba when you finally join you guys are the worst team in the league you know i didn't really i didn't really think about the team you know how good we were how bad we were because you know the dream of being a nba player is supposed to be this beautiful thing you i i made it to the nba um but i'm sitting on the bench not playing just not getting any time not practicing don't have no money i can you know yeah i spent it all so when i when they did my budget i can only spend 500 a month for you know that's gas mac gas money girlfriend two dogs like i i don't i don't really need money so i couldn't even drive i couldn't even drive back and forth to the arena so i had to stay at the arena sometimes you slept in the i slept in a room a professional nba player slept in a room was basically homeless basically take you back to the parking lot i'm basically homeless right but i just couldn't afford the gas all the time you can borrow from one of your teammates or no you're you know the pride kicks in yeah you know so but it that that helped me because it helped me stay in the gym and try to understand what a professional is like you know you have what a high school athlete is you know what a college athlete is nba was new it was different what was different is you're on your own and you have all the time in the world not to get in trouble so find a hobby find a hobby or dive into this craft yeah so like midway so like the beginning of the season i was i was i wasn't good enough to be put on that floor you know so the anger and the drive and just sitting in the gym hours and hours and watching film is what got me going because i was depressed when i when i when i first couple 30 games of the season so depressed you're actually depressed yeah you know you're you're you're you've been playing and training your whole life to be here and when you get here it's a rude awakening you're not even close to what is expected you're not good enough i'm on a two-year deal i have no money like it's it's all it wasn't it wasn't fun i even i even said then i wish i could go back to college i took a pick that's crazy okay but then that next year everything changed uh you actually got the nba most improved player award and uh when the the rookie sophomore game uh during all-star weekend you got the most valuable player in that whole thing so you really completely stepped it up yeah um you know the middle of my my uh fresh rookie year you know i'm learning how to be a pro and then that summer i'm working with uh chris mullen so chris mullins teaching me you know the half court game how to be a pro like the do's and the don'ts of just of just life you know period of being a basketball player you know he was telling me his story about you know he dealt with alcoholism and it stopped him from drinking because he was in a gym so he'd just sit in the gym whenever he had urges he'd just go to the gym and he said this is my safe haven this is where i put all that energy you know so that's that's what i knew so that summer i stayed in oakland and i just trained my ass off because my position wasn't safe you know i'm second round pick i'm not the future for you guys so you know they want a kid named jason williams you know from duke who was coming in you know so now i'm praying on draft night that we don't get the second pick you know so you know once we dodged that bully we got three i'm like okay now what's next and i remember go to state dropped the ball on this after my rookie season we went to them and i tried to get a seven year deal for 24 million and it is basically like yeah laughed you know i was trying you know seven years you know because back then seven years so seven years 24 million they're like nah right like you know so i just i trained that summer and then you know we got a new coach muscleman and um we had a little a a a rough start in um opinions of how we should be playing this season um uh amazing amazing guy and i think the budding of the heads really changed both our perceptions like you know i want to play basketball i don't care about politics you know and he's like well i'm i'm supposed to not play you because you know your contract's coming up and you're playing above you know and i'm like well what the [ __ ] does i gotta do with me playing i don't give a [ __ ] about that don't you want to win we win you look good you know and then it was like so i made like yo i'll stop passing and i'm just going 1-4 flat for the time i'm in you know i'm you know i'm averaging 19 right now i'm going to say that i don't need the i don't need assistant rebels anymore that's crazy and then you know he's and then we got earl earl boykins which was his guy and earl was like no quick let that young boy rock and then you know muslim let me rock and you know then i just you know my game just shot up at the end of that season you actually became a restricted free agent and that's when the wizards came in so you signed a six-year 60 million dollar contract with the wizards how did he feel at that point to be making 10 million a year oh mike that was to go from homeless essentially living living in the stadium to to making 10 million dollars a year for the next six years it was it was it wasn't it was unreal because it never happened before not that fast you know there was um during that whole season um everyone thought i was going to denver because of kiki vandeway so kiki used to be my trainer in the summer and then he became the general manager for denver so everyone just assumed i assume that's where i'm going so um the most golden state can ask me was mid-level so it was like 49 million so seven years 49 million was the most that they can offer me huh well because from what i understand that they actually wanted to match that offer but they were over the salary cap and since you were a second round draft pick there was just a rule that didn't allow them to do it and then there's something called the gilbert arenas rule that was created later on to assign to allow teams to resign restricted free agents who are not first-round draft picks yeah right yeah so you have a rule named after you yeah because what happened is i performed like like what i did in that time frame has really never happened you know a player that plays over the mid level you know within that first two years so when i went into free agency you know 51 million was already thrown at me you know so it was already more than you know so from there it was just weighing out the options yeah and you know kiki dropped the ball um by calling my agents bluff which they were best friends so he called the bluff they signed um andre dang what is this um i just called him dre uh point guard um for which team he went to denver 2003 four andre miller yeah so they signed andre miller to 50 40 i think 49 or 51 and i'm like under miller and you're trying to give me 2 million more i'm worth more than 2 million more you're paying him for the previous year you're not praying for what he did last year so so because we were asking for the max they were like i'm not going to pay the young kid at max um so there was more money there was like utah offered about 70. okay john stockton just retired and i didn't want the pressure of go following his footsteps since i wasn't that type of point guard clippers were at they were at 55. um golden state's 49 but we had some backdoor deals they were trying to do but uh wizards you know the owner uh a poland was like you know right now i'm getting killed for this jordan thing right because jordan his last year was the year before you came in right no jordan that that was his year so we were sorry how's your negotiating jordan's jordan's having his last year yeah in the nba yeah so there so while i'm trying to figure out what i'm going to do jordan's trying to figure out what he's going to do with the wizards because he's supposed to be the owner so when i went there that was actually one of my questions or my my dad's question like hey what's up with the jordan thing why didn't you sign him back and you know a poland was like you know i love basketball i love the players so i asked the players what did they want and the players said they didn't want jordan back the players did not want jordan back because i mean this was not you know the dream team jordan you know this was jordan at the very last part of his career yes but you're talking about mj still so it's like it's mental mj2 so it's still like the the the the last dance mj that mentality those young kids wasn't ready for it you know so they're looking at an icon who becomes this you know this this bad guy to them oh so it's like an abrasive kind of yeah you know like mj you know mj yeah i want you know six chairmanship the [ __ ] y'all gonna do for me you know it's that mj so you know so those guys like we don't want him as a holder if this is what he was as a player we don't want him as owner so that was you know so you know him explaining that okay all right cool because i'm a mj fan you know i go to mj's camps every summer you know i'm one of his counselors um so you know trying to figure out what happened you know and he was like yeah you know i wrote mj a check you know 10 you know 10 million dollars say thank you for your services mj threw that check and said [ __ ] off and and drove out of the arena and i'm sitting like wait wait wait jordan threw away a 10 million dollar check i mean in real life he actually did that no come on let's say the serious stuff michael jordan threw away eight i mean granted michael jordan has a lot of money but 10 million dollars is still 10 million dollars to anyone even jordan he threw away 10 million dollar check i wrote him a 10 million jobs yes thank you thank you for your services and then just chucked it left the building and never cash the check no that's crazy that's something that's crazy did you ever get to know mj at all yeah yeah yeah like um you know i went to like heist my senior year after my freshman year in college you know i used to do mj's camps um so you know i have all this memorabilia of of with them of them you know you know just one of ones type of you know items you know that he's like he's you know he's signed everything for me but i but you know just being a basketball nut job that i am i know the personality you know you know i know what it takes to be great you know they don't you know him kobe those type of minds they don't allow laziness they don't like laziness they don't they don't have time for like trying to teach you how to be great you're supposed to be just already ready you know you or or we're going to be ready so i unders i understood his mentality also i'm a young kid i understand a young kid's mentality you're my hero be what i i be like this supposed to go a certain way like i'm going to go meet mj it's supposed to go a certain way you know because i remember when i remember i went to jordan camp and i had like 40 and and he was like ah man you remind me of one of the players on my team and i'm like oh [ __ ] i remind him of like pippen or himself and he's like yeah you remind me of uh you know randy brown [Laughter] like i was like randy [ __ ] don't even play i'm an assassin you don't compare me to randy brown i'm like i'm i'm i'm thinking the whole night i'm not i'm never passing the mj again in these games you know so i was offended but you know he's seen how i responded you know so you know it's like we we we actually connected um so you know we were good you know so i remember uh playing against him the first time and you know it was like oh so you came here i was like yeah yeah i need i need to break all your records bro they need to break these records right cause there's a famous story you said about uh when jordan kobe played each other but you weren't actually on the team no no no no no so how did you hear about the story um was it uh oh so this would have been probably luke walton who told me the story right so according to you um when jordan played kobe uh you know jordan won and then at the end of the game i guess kobe was wearing some jordan eights and uh you know jordan smacked him on the butt and said uh you can wear the shoes but you'll never fill them yeah and then what happened next okay what happened so what happened next is so i guess during that time after kobe got so koby didn't say anything to anybody so for like two weeks they said kobe was just mute like he didn't talk to his players and taught his teammates just he said he was in like focus mode like it was straight like practice was just so intense right so the players like the players like yo is he mad at us like did we do something to him and then it was like phil was like no no no no um jordan told him um when we played them uh you could wear the shoes but you could never fill them and it was like oh [ __ ] when did we play them again yeah we played them in a few days oh i i might even stretch for that game because young fella's not passing us to the ball and that's the game kobe had like 55 55 points yeah i mean you call kobe like a [ __ ] psycho in terms of the way that he really focuses on certain things yeah he is um but everyone at the top is yeah you know everyone everyone at the time you don't get to the top being normal you don't get to the top thinking normal yeah um it's just not normal thinking you know so you know trying to figure out his mindset because you got to remember i'm trying to you know i'm trying to get to the next level like i know i'm not you know kobe but if i can just follow what he's doing regimen you know thought process a little bit i can get closer it'll help me be a better player you know i don't have the attributes i'm not six six you know i don't know i still got my body so i got to play within myself but you know the mentality i need you know that killer mentality the thought process you know so i focused a lot on how those minds really navigated you know just through life yeah well i mean that first season you had a abdominal muscle injury i guess which kind of affected you throughout the season yeah i don't yeah um [ __ ] ice bro ice yeah what do you mean uh uh so there's this thing in the east coast called black ice yeah i didn't know nothing about snow or black ice oh you got no car accident no no no i slipped oh you sleep okay so walking out the driveway and then school that's how i uh pulled it a little bit and thinking nothing of it thinking it's like a little growing thing and then in the game like two games later that's when i you know pulled it yeah i think it was in seattle yeah okay so then the next season that's when you really kind of hit your stride you and larry hughes yeah uh you were the highest scoring backcourt duo in the nba yeah you guys were killing it uh you had a 45 win season and you got to the first playoffs that the wizards got to since 1997. how did that feel at that point that felt great because larry hughes was my mentor in golden state um you know so i was you know i carried his bag did all you know rookie stuff um you have to really do that yeah that's a real thing okay and i end up taking his position i end up taking his position those that those 30 games i played that was his spot he got hurt they put me in and he never gave him back the spot so he had to take a pay cut you know sign some [ __ ] deal to go to washington so i was hesitant to go on to washington in the first place but he told me come down you know come here you know because we played well together when we did play so you know hooking back up with him you know and then antoine coming you know then there's like three golden state guys and then from there we just you know made magic yeah because you actually won the playoff series and that was the first time the wizards won in more than 20 years and then you got selected for the all-star game how did that feel that was so like i'm not even like that was so amazing because um it shouldn't it really shouldn't have been my all-star should have been larry's so you know larry antoine were playing like all-stars um i was the third wheel and what happened was larry broke his thumb and when larry broke his thumb i took on his scoring and i just shot up you know so i end up you know winning that you know that um that all-star bid me and um what's the name so i said yo this is technically yours you got to come you know so larry ended up showing up for me you know you know rocking you know uh the the zero but it was more it was more i don't even think i scored an all-star game i was just so happy to be there i was just so happy i was so happy to be there like you know like i'm an all-star i invited everybody i knew yeah um friends family high school friends girlfriends that wouldn't give me none back then like yeah come on to the all-star you know so it was just one of those things like like how it was supposed to feel when i made it to the nba how i made it to the all-star that was just you know one of those i didn't even to be honest i didn't care about the game watching beyonce and jay-z front row that like i'm just sitting there coach called my name four times before i went i'm like just jay-z she's so beautiful in real life that is really home and he's just calling me like what oh oh get in yeah i forgot my bad well uh i mean but at this point you're making 10 million a year so how does it feel like i mean what are you spending money on like are you balling out of control or is it did you learn your lesson the first time around with blowing all your money no you know you know when you're a kid you're you're buying stuff that is meaningless to the world but for some reason it means a lot to you yeah so i was like oh i want a shark tank i want to start taking some sharks you know so shark tank uh i wanted a hugh hefner pool okay so i wanted i wanted that i wasn't i remember i bought a chain like when i first got my money my first year had this big old bracelet right i wore to a club one time didn't like the feeling because you know i didn't have bodyguards then you know i just didn't like the eyes and i'm like yeah i don't think i'm gonna yeah this jury thing is just not for me yeah you know so i took it off and just put it in a box and never wore it again um so i wasn't i wasn't a jury i wasn't a partier um shoes um furniture taxes yeah taxes that's the big one right there you know it's just like your taxes yeah you know 10 million turns to five real quick yeah i mean plus you're talking about you know your manager and your agent and everything else yeah you know they're taking their fees but at that time you know just happy to play basketball because you know basketball money is one thing but you know being great at something you know that builds that's the investment yeah and that was the year in 2005 that's when you started being called agent zero and you had a strong year you had like almost 30 points a game uh but you weren't well initially you weren't chosen for the 2006 all-star game but i guess there was uh i guess jermaine o'neill got injured and then you got into it yeah so two years in a row you're in the uh the all-star game yeah how did that feel the second year uh that was horrible because the that's when politics kicked in that's when what um was that [ __ ] larry brown in that detroit team you know they were winning games and they were you know using that winning for all-stars just about team and winning so we need four all-stars in the game maybe five and i'm like well what the [ __ ] does i gotta do with me my team is fifth in the east and um fourth leading scorer in the nba so you guys gonna go one two three skip four five six seven eight nine ten and then two players on the all-star team right now their team is 13th and 15th what the [ __ ] are y'all talking about like this doesn't make it you can't even make this up doesn't even make sense so it was more more anger there's more anger and that's when [ __ ] talking became part of my game because i realized that because i was a quiet kid you guys didn't respect it so now i went i remember i was i was at the all-star podium and i said every coach every eastern conference coach that didn't vote for me i'm busting their ass i can't wait till this weekend is over so i can bust they ass and then that's when i call myself the east coast assassin look at the birdies there we go right and i guess during the offseason you actually said that you'll take a pay cut so the wizards would have more money because you wanted to win a championship yeah that was in 2000 that probably 2006 eight uh off season after 2006. no no no not my con okay maybe i'm wrong yeah it was uh no no so what happened is after that year that was my second year that was my second all-star yeah so it was after my so my second all-star um yes maybe yeah yeah then i came back end up didn't make the all-star initially then i ended up making second team all-nba right um yeah that was that was after like yeah so that that one is two i think i did that in 2009 10. when you guys got to the playoffs against the cavaliers you're that 40-foot jump shot round one uh-huh that was like kind of a very famous play um what was it like to play i mean at that point lebron is on fire i mean he's really been on fire since day one uh but you guys ended up you know losing to the cavaliers is that heartbreaking yeah because we were a better team um you know we were facing a guy that we didn't know but i kind of knew because i i hung out with him a lot so i knew he was very intelligent lebron yeah he was very smart he was very you know he he did play chess mentally oh yeah you know so you know when i used to we used to go play you know uh cards at his house um and he'd sit on the couch and have tv like it looked like a bar you know his tv setup was like you know like a bar where you know you're just watching games watching film so i seen what his mind was doing from day one so you know going into that series we got outsmarted by somebody we didn't really think about we didn't know how intelligent how he moved pieces around so you know when he wanted to attack he had certain people get subbed out which sub out some of our pieces which made the games smaller so he pulled this center so we pull our center now our backup is smaller than lebron so now when lebron goes to the basket no one's there to protect the rim yeah you know so then that's when he just drove drove drove didn't even think about taking a jump shot and we didn't actually understand what that what was going on until after yeah i remember when we interviewed amman shumpert you know who played lebron as well he said that lebron's basketball iq is super human he'll literally you know when he's getting interviewed after the game he will break down the play he's like oh so-and-so went went to the whole blah blah and he was like breaking down every part and he has perfect memory uh braun has a a very genuine it's a very genuine um characteristic like it's like uh he has to share basketball knowledge with people like he's it's it might be his biggest superpower his ability to get everybody on the same page like it's actually kind of scary i'm scared he said you know iman said he's never seen anyone do this before yeah and that's that's and that's what we didn't that's what we didn't understand in that playoff series because playoff is about adjusting it's about adjusting you know um reacting and i don't think we reacted well to some of the subs and you know plays go down to the the you know the last second and the last second he's taking those shots driving to the lane so if you look at the game you can see all the shots he hit at the end of the game we're all layups if you look at the defense our center was never there yeah because he had his center pull like i don't need a gaussian even though august was an all-star i don't need him because i don't need that lane to be clogged up when i decide to take over yeah well that's why lebron is lebron there you go i mean did you know he was gonna be one of the greats playing with him at that point i i knew that like the first time i met him that's what i said the first time i meet him he's watching you know and they had a little tivo box thing where you can you know he's he's watching seven things at once soccer high school basketball college girl basketball nba i mean you know football like it's just you're sitting there just watching a machine yeah and i'm sitting there playing cards but i'm trying to you know he got you know a little pad right here with film going on rewinding taking notes his wife taking you know his girlfriend at the time wife now taking notes and i'm just sitting here like wow that's different it's really different like i'm over here looking at like yeah well yeah okay i'm not gonna do that play so then the next season comes around 2006 2007 season and that's when on a december 17 2006 you guys play the lakers at staples center it goes into overtime you scored 60 points against kobe [Laughter] how did that feel 60 points against kobe like going into the game like like this video of me just talking like like man like i'm like i just finished working out and i'm watching like man that man is a bad man like he just i know you see how hard he goes like man and then i remember luke walton coming up to me because lukewarm always came you know kobe said he's going to shut you down today i said well if he thinks about guarding me i'm gonna do one for fl you know my place i'm gonna do 145. so it was already like building like i've always had great games against you know kobe you know he just brings that out of you um so you know once i got the cooking i already knew he was gonna guard me and from there it's just who can sustain it you know the longest you know so we had a nice little lead on him and then kobe do what kobe does right you know he starts wheeling them back you know but at that point i'm on fire so it's basically who was gonna who's gonna stop who i didn't have to guard him so i wasn't losing no energy you know so he's on offense and then he has to try to stop me so yeah you know kind of favoring in my well after that game uh you know former wizard center brendan haywood told the story uh he said as we're on the tarmac getting ready to leave to la coby's talking to karen butler you all know gil's personality haley said gill's like karen who you talking to talking to kobe put me on speakerphone and you said listen dog the mongoose killed the snake you need to call yourself the black mongoose yeah yeah you're the black mamba i'm the black mongoose yes you remember that conversation yes yes yes yes so what ends up happening is i i remember we after the game we walked into the locker room and you know we bring the huddle in and i walk in late and i was like yo i just [ __ ] scored 60 bro 60 oh [ __ ] kobe bryant and then coach says and we won the game bro you know how much [ __ ] i'mma get now oh my god all-star now i'm like i'm sitting here like i'm on i'm a high person level i'm getting all the girl y'all can't tell me nothing now so i was already goosed so when we got to the uh when we got to the tarmac quran's on the phone with cope and you know i'm yelling put his ass on the phone put his ass on the phone and um he's talking i'm just sitting there talking trash and then brendon was like yo telling you the black mongoose that's what the [ __ ] is the black mongoose he was like oh that's uh who the black mom battles with that's who he battles with that's that that's the two animals that battle what hey quran tell him he just got killed by the black mongoose so if he got killed i'm the black mongoose now and then from there kobe says oh yeah we gonna see when i get back out there tell him we gonna see we're gonna see enjoy his little night now and we're gonna see when i come to dc and i say oh [ __ ] it's all now yeah you guys uh signed each other later on in the season mm-hmm and uh kobe said remember you asked for this i tell you make sure you come guard me the way i'm about to guard you uh-huh and uh i guess uh hey what said he gave us 39 of the meanest points you'll ever see yeah he was doing windmills now look at 316 finished off with the airplane kobe was on tilt the black mongoose comet was just tongue him to the soul must have stung him to his soul in the bottom of his core uh yeah i mean you had 37 points that game but yeah you know like when people ask me what's the best like my best game i always say that one and the reason i say that one is you have the you have the black mama you have kobe bryant who's coming into the building and he's already said he's shutting you down it's on it's like so this is war so i know he's after me the the whole like defense is paying attention to me so this is not actually about like winning this is about surviving personally yes it's more surviving the war like it's like it's like a bruised with um uh with holly berry was it about winning it was about surviving like you know you you won you didn't quit you know so i was not going to back down every shot so the beginning of that game is a full one-on-one match the team like you guys just [ __ ] rebounders and you take the [ __ ] ball out of bounds like but you know you don't get no shots this game and that's what that game that's what that game was and it was more i got respected more from him on that game because i didn't back down i didn't you know like the top tier people they they respect someone who comes at them they don't respect someone who respects them and like oh no i'm good like they train too hard they trained too hard for you to like like oh i'm sorry no like you think he puts in hours and hours and hours of work for you to back down no he wants your best you know so after that game it's like when we like really came close okay so you guys formed a relationship after yeah what was some of the the most interesting uh kobe stories you have off the court off the court see i i get third party i got i got third party like stories like karam was telling me once about uh his birthday he did a party at his house in uh milwaukee and he said he invited kobe and he says you know he says my house got my family my friends you know our teammates and they said uh cope comes in they said cole comes in you know he has security tells everyone hey everyone out of the house you kicked everyone out of their own house and then he had a security check and make sure everything was all right and then let everybody back here he said i'm sitting outside looking like yo bro this is my house bro he said that's the way kobe what he said that's the way kobe was he said you just gotta you just gotta deal with it okay that's funny well you've actually said that kobe is not the toughest player you've ever guarded no he's not the toughest player because it's more mental toughness with with kobe um you had the mental battle because you know it's gonna always be some some silly [ __ ] he's gonna say dude that you just gotta like you know like you'll foul someone and then he'll look at you like hey that was [ __ ] dumb and you're that wasn't a smart play you're you're guarding me and you've used one on him you need all six of your fouls to guard me and you just wasted one idiot and you sitting there like oh [ __ ] he's right he's kind of right you know like and so he sister and throws that at you you know iverson was the hardest guard because iverson didn't have [Laughter] i don't want to say no thought process but he didn't care about nothing no feelings no no it was just i'm trying to score 60 and i don't care who's guarding me i'm not going to talk to you i'm not going to look at you i'm going to look through you i'm going to play as hard as i can possibly play i always say he's like you know how the white boy played in high school just real tough this he's in you sweating on you that was iverson but he actually had offense you know so he kept coming all the time like non-stop you know so if i wanted to if i'm gonna get scored 60 on i'd rather get stored 60 on by kobe than iverson because iverson 60 look like it was a hundred because it's just non-stop just like like yo pass the bro you don't want to pass it like this like he just doesn't because he's so fast and quick and he's coming at you so you don't rest with kobe you know he's going to post up he's going to pass it out you're going to get a little rest but iverson there's no rest you just you can you can sub me right now bro i'm tired i'm tired of this dude i mean when kobe died a couple years ago when you heard the news and we all live in the same general area where it happened how did you feel it was i didn't believe it at first yeah you know it's just one of those like i remember when my boy texted me like bro stop stop talking [ __ ] like that like you know i know you don't like cobra you're steph curry i get it i get it right and then and then from there it just came on the ticket i'm like wait what the wait what the [ __ ] you know and like it was it was just unreal like it was unreal and i'm i was trying to process you know how why why is he over here you know trying to you know you're trying to understand like you know this ain't real news like calabasas why would he be in calabasas yeah like this doesn't catalyst he doesn't live out here what is he doing out here and then and then like reality kicked in it's like oh [ __ ] they they play at nine o'clock their game's at nine o'clock in and what's the name and also i was the first one yeah i was the first one to realize his kids possibly was with him right you know and i remember i wrote it and i was like oh man i think the other passengers was his kids and then someone commented like you don't know that why would you put that kind of energy out there that's oh [ __ ] you're right i don't know that and then boom erased it and then thought about it like no his daughter at least one would be because she plays yeah and it did not even that hurt more you know it was just like like things like that you know when you when you when you talk about your your icons your you know your idols your you know competitors you know it's it's it's forever living yeah you know it's forever living so you know it just it didn't i didn't want to believe it yeah it was sad man it was devastating i mean especially being out here in l.a yeah and having it i mean we literally walked you know from our house to as close as we could to the the crash site and it was just you know surrounded by the lakers fans and everyone's crying and everything it was it was a sad day in l.a yeah it was it was kind of like when nipsey died it was like just a sad day in l.a yeah yeah i mean you know um you know i really personally know you know nip but you can feel it through everyone else right you know i was like man i didn't know he was you know he did that much for the community you know it kind of sucks when when someone dies you find out like who they were right you know and that that kind of sucked because it's like well kobe you know did things with the homeless this and this you're like no don't make it worse you don't make it worse he's he's he did good things too you know and that that that kind of kind of sucks okay so then you know you make the all-star game again first round you actually uh edged out vince carter yeah got him in the [ __ ] out of there right yeah so then you get to the playoffs of the cavaliers again how did that go um i was actually hurt um i got hurt the last 10 games of that season um so it was a little fritz between me and the coaching staff um because uh they you know game tim was playing charlotte on a back to back and i don't like the way we were playing our our group in charlotte so you know i made some comments um about you know like what are we doing it's 10 games we should be tightening up by rotation and then the coach like um i don't i don't tell you how to play the game don't tell me how to coach you know this team you know which is fair um but you know at that time like i'm trying to make the playoffs and i mean i'm trying to get ready for the playoffs so you know um usually usually on back to back if it's a home game i'm usually there at 5 30. i'm usually there at 5 30 um and we have practice if we have practice we have practice at five o'clock but um i was late once and um earlier i was late once probably like 2003-4 and had a bomb game you know so i stuck with that ritual you know so i stuck with the ritual but this game i was like you know playoffs is coming up you know i'm not i'm not even going to be late you know so i i showed up early i showed up five o'clock i'm on the court i got my clothes on though so i'm not i didn't go through the shoot around um so got my clothes on um you know and we go back to the locker room you know now i'm getting ready for the game and then right before the game you know one of the players asked are we going to do the lineup that you said before guild came you're 4k okay what the [ __ ] is this and then uh he's like oh yeah yeah and he just takes me out of line up lineup and it leaves that's all man [ __ ] this i'm not playing this goofy [ __ ] so i'm lee hey man hey good luck tonight man i'm going home i'll play some video games bro like i'm not doing this dumb what is what the [ __ ] is this sweetie and he's like yo he thought she was gonna be late so he was taking you out of the lineup late i said yo i'm here [ __ ] every day three [ __ ] o'clock i'm here before him you know most games so you mean late he's like so they convinced me to play i ended up getting hurt so i didn't like i went to game one and then i felt that energy i was like well [ __ ] them so i ended up leaving and then didn't go any more road trips and we end up getting um smacked by cleveland the second time yeah once again lebron it's like the emp yeah he was he was in motion i think that's when they did they go to the finals that year i think they went to is that the year they lost to [Music] not ought to have been 2006. yeah no that was the year he went they lost to um spurs yeah yeah so he was yeah that team was really that that team was really moving well i guess you said that during that season you slept with 15 different women that's it damn doesn't seem like a huge number to me i'll be honest yeah it was you know but you said that no one today can come close to what will chamberlain did back in the day with 2 500 women no like that no no [ __ ] no you gotta remember those guys back then let's just let's just be honest they didn't take the game as serious as as guys do today so you're not gonna have a guy trying to go out and sleep with you know a hundred not even a hundred girls in one year yeah that's it that's that's just too much energy like nah i don't like that was that 15 that was it was like that was that was a lot 15 different personalities 15 people trying to rob you don't know what the [ __ ] is going on oh yeah no i remember i interviewed the male porn star tt boy and i remember i brought up the whole wheel chamberlain thing and he broke down literally we pulled out a calculator he broke down how he slept with 10 000 women during his career but this is his job yeah right it'd be like listen yeah that means on camera and off camera i'm sure he didn't let's i'm sure he didn't sleep with 25 100 people maybe oh i'm sure maybe he did i don't know you know that's just like blue face everyone blue face said he's i slept with ten thousand girls you've been famous for four hours i'm pretty sure that's not possible but if he says that we're going to listen to it okay so then the next season comes around and uh i guess you wanted to make you want to be a free agent at that point yes 2007-2008 um you know you said if something happens they don't want me they're gonna go a different direction i can look elsewhere but my intention is not to leave so what exactly happened that year okay so just so under people understand contracts all right so on a contract you have an extension right an extension is only 12.5 percent off your last number so if my last number off the 60 million was 2 13 million a year 12 million it's only if i sign an extension is only a 12.5 increase yeah go from you know you go from there well if you opt out you're signing a brand new deal so you lose a lot more money signing extension than you would if you just opt out and then redo your deal right so that's what the thing was you know i'm hurt already had two knee surgeries um the window of the window of my contract is slimming down so i have to opt out now you know so i came back for two games in the playoffs had 24 in the first half and then that was it you know i'm back and i'm opting out right because that year you guys play against the cavaliers in the playoffs again this you know once again you got to play against lebron and you actually sat out most of that playoffs yeah you know i came back just to show i was healthy enough to opt out of my contract yeah you know um so you know went into negotiation um you know the general manager you know he did exactly what he was supposed to do lowball me yeah you know two knee surgeries um [Music] you know if we can get you for half the price that's what we're gonna do you know so he went in negotiating but you know things out of his hand you know he couldn't control which was baron davis opting out of golden state which they on my drive there they offered me a hundred and one for five years max deal helicopter uh a a five million dollar house you know if i came so they offered you a helicopter and a five million dollar house five million dollar seller you don't have to do all day hell because they knew my country my actual deal was 127 that was my max 127 million so you know they can only give me one on one so you know then you add a five million dollar house helicopters cars and try to you know you try to match as close as you can so i'm going into free agency with that as op like that's what was already offered so what's up you know and it was like oh yeah we got like you know 86 like i looked at it like like i looked at the deal was like man we're missing some numbers here like it was like 86 million for you know uh was it six years and i'm looking like yeah this ain't i'm missing a one is this supposed to be 186 uh i'm pretty sure this is about 86. you know so he was trying to give me a 20 million dollar increase you know on my contract yeah but you know um mr poland mr poland came down and you know put his foot down right because you were offered a 100 million dollar contract by the warriors another max deal by the by the wizards which is a six-year deal for 124 million so you end up signing a six-year 111 million dollar deal with the wizards yeah so now you're making almost 19 million dollars a year what are you doing with all the money you spend it you spend it like it was you know at that point it wasn't really about it wasn't about the money like you know once you sign you know you know once you sign your first deal you know you're rich you don't really look at you know the next contract so when i'm in the airport when a poland called me and he was like hey listen i heard what they offer you you know that that had nothing to do with me you know i found out and you're my guy you did what you were supposed to do you said you're gonna get me out of the jordan era you did whatever your contract is it's your money i'll i probably won't live to see the end of this contract but you're going to be the last [ __ ] i sign the money's yours 127 128 124 it's all yours you do with what you please so that was so i'm going on a plane and the owner just said open checkbook you tell me how much you want wow you know so that's when i came up with one one one penny hard way that this is pretty pretty pretty that was i was pretty hard away i was a penny hardware fan so that's where 111 was penny penny penny right so i left 16 million dollars for uh yeah you know for because antoine was up that year too yeah so i left 16 million dollars for him to sign okay and that year the wizards finished 1963 the second worst uh record in the nba tied with the clippers this was back when the clippers were just trapped bro and you guys even make it to the playoffs for first time in four years yeah okay so then the 2009-2010 season comes around and this is where it gets kind of interesting oh that's the good year ah yes yes yes [Music] okay so i guess this whole thing started with a card game called uh beret uh ba it was a boo ray boo ray boo hooray okay so this is a card game that's played in the back of airplanes and locker rooms by nba players and i guess it's poker meets spades yes uh and you know i mean these games really get out of control where people are betting rolls-royces yes and you know and they're just trying to ruin you like you know i mean so you got these guys with these massive salaries playing against guys with smaller salaries you know who don't have the amount of money they have and they're just trying to [ __ ] you up and they're trying like you said take your soul so i guess it was a card game between uh um uh javel mcgee my president israel and uh crittenton uh-huh so tell me what happens exactly okay so it was um it was javale the crittenton um or a boykins that's who started a game so if you think about their contracts it was a very small game it was it was a very small game we were coming from we were coming from the west so we're coming probably from at that time was uh it'd have been probably phoenix you know i've been like so we're so you know so it's a long flight you know so you know a game you know twenty dollars a hand ten dollars a hand is boring so i sleep you know so i'm sleeping um so i how how the plane is set up you know the cockpit is there and then you have two chairs that faces the back and then all the chairs faces the front after that then you have a table in between so it's just a four seater so my seat here in front of me is javaris next to him is koran and then in front of quran it's oral boykins and then there's two seats across is javel and dominique so javale because um because quran don't leave his seat javale has to sit on his armrest onto the table you know so that's how they played so um like the last 30 minutes of the plane is when i come down and sit so i i i i'm assuming okay he was javaris was losing money already and yeah he was losing money already i'm just gonna be honest you know how much you lose at that moment he was probably down six grand okay not a huge amount no like wait for a six hour flight yeah yeah that's six grand it's not that much yeah you know but losing in cars has nothing it has nothing to do with money it's the [ __ ] talking and the ego all right so so i said so i sit down all right so so i'm over like what's going on who's who who's whose hand is it so javale so clinton's deal so corinthians it goes one two three they're going one two three passing the cards right and so it's about it it's about a thousand dollars in the pot so i'm like oh [ __ ] a juicy one right javaris gets booed so boo means you didn't get a book so if you don't get a book you have to match the pot so there's a thousand dollars in there he gets booed four thousand dollars so now he has so javale cleans up all the money he gets booed for the thousand dollars right so javille cleans up all the money i'm like damn so if i was playing it comes to me so since i wasn't playing it goes to earl so me being who i am i'm like damn there's a thousand dollars in there i want that [ __ ] so i was like hey i'm in i want to play i want to play so there's like well match the pot so if you're not in the hand and you want to come in you have the mattress in the pot so now i have to take out a thousand put a thousand in so now there's 2 000. so already javaris is pissed because now the odds of him winning his money back is makes a little bit harder so he's [ __ ] pissed off because you go down 25 right 33 25 so so now he's just pissed off earl boykins and javale is having a conversation and the conversation was yo hey can i get my two hundred dollars you owe me and uh javelin's like countless money like i'll give it to you when the plane lands you know the rules i don't want to give it to you now then you like i give you 200 and you start you know you catch fire and then i lose all my money we already know how that works and then he just explodes [ __ ] that man you got all my [ __ ] money over there get that man it's [ __ ] 200 huh the [ __ ] is your problem and i'm like yo dude why are you talking to your teammates like that bro i said you owe me 200 bucks you owe quran 200 bucks like why are you giving a [ __ ] about that 200 bucks and then that's when the energy came to me man [ __ ] you he said uh it was like it was [ __ ] you he said just because you rich you think you can just come in here and bully [ __ ] pots and [ __ ] coming here throwing a thousand when my [ __ ] money is in there and i'm i'm losing and now it's funny it's funny because like you're laughing now because now i'm in joke mode so now i'm just going to sit here and just keep poking i'm just going to keep poking so now i'm dealing the card so i'm like like wishing he gets booed some more like boo right so i flip over my cars and then you know everybody has their cars everybody's looking in their hand and i'm like earl how much you want and he's like oh [ __ ] two thousand maybe i need three core and all here all you can hear is from javale all you can wait yes sir and and earl was like yeah i'm going to fold so i'm like all right jerrell how much you want so javale's like yeah i don't need none damn none so i'm like so either none means are you have you have either three spades and two aces or you're you're double suited or you just [ __ ] have all spades whatever you have you have a dominant hand you don't want none and then earl i mean and then uh javaris was like uh i want five oh [ __ ] buddhist man so i'm so i go into bubo because if he gets boo 2 000 stays back in the pot so i'll give a [ __ ] about you now boo that man you need a boo you bout to get [ __ ] boo bro you're gonna get boo so i look at my hand and i have i i literally have three spades here so i have three spades and common courtesy is this if three people are playing the goal is if you can't win it if you can't win it try to do two two one so two books for me two books for you one book for you the pot stays the same nobody wins the money and you add to the pot right and then you have the winning mindset if i can't win and he can win if i boo you and hopefully you don't get a book you have to match the pot and the money stays so there's two ways the money stays 2-2-1 or you get someone booed you know think about it if i purposely get you booed you don't really like me anyway so so what i do is i don't want to two to one or i don't want a three one one three one one means he wins the money and then now we have to start this pot all the way over again which 30 minutes left on the plane 20 minutes left on the plane that's not enough time so i decided to take my three books and i'm out now he's livid oh he's living oh he's a [ __ ] you said [ __ ] ass you're not you just gonna double the pot and you're not even gonna play this [ __ ] hand are you about to get me booed oh man people like you i rob on the street you can ride me on the street like so now we're just going tit-for-tat tit-for-tat tip for tap so i get up so i get up off i get up off the seat it's all right man i'm going back to [ __ ] sleep y'all you broke [ __ ] deal with that [ __ ] so i go back so now i just hear javale and javarz just going at it there so jabara's like nah nah nah gill gotta play gil got to play he got three he got three spades in his hand he gotta play what do you know he's just not gonna get me booed he's not even gonna know he's not gonna even do that he can't do that right and and he's like yo listen so javale gave him a out jabel was like listen i have five spades i have ace king queen jack something you're booed which means he already lost one thousand now he has to put in 2 000 the next hand so he's not not [ __ ] that no [ __ ] that so javale's like yo you're booed let me just take the pot and that's it he's like no because he don't give up thousand either so you're like nah gill gotta play gil gotta play guild got to play so then he was like gil mucked his hand well then that's a miss deal miss deal he has the master plan so he's trying to fight all kinds of ways he's trying to find out all kinds of ways to not lose the hand and get this back so the plane landed i'm not even at the table anymore i'm not even at the table anymore i'm laying back down and showing my life and [ __ ] laughing from the bay man yo boo ass man hey make sure you get that money on on the next practice day so i'm just sitting there just talking [ __ ] the whole time so after playing he walks up to me it's like why are you like on some real street [ __ ] you're not allowed to do that street [ __ ] we mean street [ __ ] bro stop this [ __ ] you lost it's like nah man that's [ __ ] up g89 you you ain't gonna be a nah no you're not gonna do that i was like javaris listen bro i'll shoot you in your face bro right i'll shoot you in your face hit that with it i'ma shoot you in your knee yeah so so after i told him i'm gonna shoot him in his face and he said he's gonna shoot me my knee you gotta remember i've already had three knee surgeries right so shooting with my knee like that's worse than shooting you in your face bro i was just bullshitting with you you know me so that's like like you're going to take it to the [ __ ] knee and i was like you know what the knee's already [ __ ] bad anyway well then i'll shoot you another one now this is when you know we're just dumb right it's just dumb it's just it's just dumb so you're gonna shoot me in the the bad knee and i'm like ah that's the bad knee i'm gonna shoot you in a good thing oh so you just don't want me to play basketball no more that's how we're rolling all right well [ __ ] it you know what before you come to the arena i'm just gonna burn your car he was like how are you gonna burn my car while you're in it while you're rolling so now it becomes a joke right right so you know then you have quran yeah man shut the [ __ ] up you two girls right shut up y'all y'all sound so dumb right so it's snowing you know it's i think this is like december so this is around december 1st so it's snowing in in dc big snow so we got to take we land and then we got to take some other [ __ ] some type of shuttle so in the middle of the shuttle whenever i have a problem with a teammate i always put music on so i put my music on and then i start like singing the song right out loud to annoy yeah yeah yeah i'm the biggest i'm the biggest poker so so we're getting on the trolley and i put on michael jackson and i'm like uh uh someone uh you want to be star in something you got to be star in something you want to be star and something that's like who's bad and i'm just doing all of this this [ __ ] and you can just see him getting mad and mad and mad right so that's where that stops we end up going to our cars this is on a [ __ ] saturday so this is saturday we have a day off sunday all right so we have a day off sunday and oh that's when oh that's so so while ruining what's the name you know talking that [ __ ] he was like man man uh after he said he when he said he was gonna shoot me in the knee i said you know what how about this if you got them if you got them cajones you know you know them cajones them big the big elephant nuts i'll bring you the guns i'll bring you the guns that's a i'm pretty sure you can't afford it i'm gonna bring you the guns and i want to see you shoot me that's how we're gonna do it so that's that's how we we finished our argument so thursday i mean uh sunday you know normal day we day off you know enjoying all the players having fun and then monday then monday comes i usually get we have practice at ten i'm usually there eight o'clock you know because i do marital i got steam stretch do all the dumb stuff right so i had the guns put on this chair and then i wrote a note pick one before you say that and go into the rest you bring four unloaded guns into the wizards locker room well see that's where it gets a little gray area um i never said i bring them to the arena okay but somehow four guys four guns going to you uh-huh they got into the these are registered to you oh really prob probably so also i bought a big gun collection i just loved guns a bit so i had over i had over 500 guns you had 500 500 yeah that's crazy that's like a that's like a military stash no five that's 100 yeah these are just everything shotguns pistols aks so i bought it off my zucca's ex-ex-girlfriend her father who was like 70 i bought it he was collecting since he was six so i had guns from back in like the 40s and the world war two guys yeah yeah so i got street sweep i got all these antique you know guns okay you know so i i built this whole like little thing so like if you actually look at the guns that were there golden desert eagle smith and wesson 500. nobody can shoot that [ __ ] [Laughter] you know so so i they were put on his chair and i had a note wrote pick one so i go through my i go through my routine you know doing that and while i'm coming out of the locker room i see him like he's like he's like looking at him picking him up looking all right looking and i come out yeah [ __ ] [ __ ] yes yeah you see that big boy [ __ ] rich rich people [ __ ] that's rich people [ __ ] right there now you see that [ __ ] hey i'm giving you those imagine if i if i'm giving you that type of [ __ ] what you think i got at the house bro what you think i got out the house if i'm giving you [ __ ] like that and that's and then that's when he was like ah man i don't need that [ __ ] and then throws throws a gun i don't need this [ __ ] throws a gun and uh one of the uh trainers was walking by hit his foot he threw a gun that hit someone's foot okay she throws it and then trainer like rushes up into the um the the training room and he he became funny because he did the same [ __ ] that i do so he puts his earphones on so he's sitting up against locker he puts his earphones on and then says oh let's do he's starting singing the waka flocka hey oh let's do it hey and i i didn't know what the the song was because you know it's atlanta it started isn't a celana song first so that's not so everybody else you know everybody else is laughing and doing that and that was it wait wait wait but according to the story crittenton pulled out his own gun which was loaded see listen what was that what was the size of that gun it could have to be honest it could have been a [ __ ] ipod fraud i know this [ __ ] was a little it was little because i said what is that is that the gun from harlem's night man put that little [ __ ] away bro i said i'm giving you big people [ __ ] right there put that little gun away what is he doing bring a gun into locker room himself that's what we did okay are you telling me and you don't have to name any names are you saying that other players are bringing guns into the locker room as well during that time okay so like i said you don't have to name any names i don't understand so the reason it's hard for the outside world to really understand like guns in the locker room like oh yeah guns at work technically yes but technically no because it's our building it's the safest building for us so that is actually safer than our homes because there's security yeah so usually jewelry guns are there not the house why is because the clubs are downtown the gym is downtown so the chances of us getting stopped with a gun is high you know back then there was really no security guards like that so what what players would do will they drive from home drive to the arena put their guns in the locker room go to the club and then go from the club to the arena get the guns they go back home so so other players are doing this yeah with their guns it was it was without naming any names yeah yeah it was good yeah so what you did what you're saying is actually not that weird it's just that you got caught i've had [ __ ] paintball and bb gun shootouts in our in our locker room these aren't paintball i know but it's it's yeah it's these are real guys like yeah i've i've okay i'm older now i've pointed guns at teammates before real guns well it was a it wasn't really poor i just had it because they tried to drown me it was my rookie season um one of my teammates you know rookie hazen and they tied me up hawk tied me threw me in the bucket oh and and i rushed home to get my gun uh-huh try to try that [ __ ] again and yeah they did yeah they they whip my ass again with my ass again the trainer said there were guns in the locker room okay right so so what ends up happening is after the west trainer gets hit with on the foot um we both were in a jacuzzi right and then he was like man you just play too much i said bro you arguing over a thousand [ __ ] dollars bro you're over in that so we're we're both in the jacuzzi getting ready let's say you're over in a thousand dollars he said that's the principal the principal i'm losing i'm losing and you're [ __ ] with me no thanks you always lose you just you just [ __ ] lose bro you just you just can't get right you're just a losing player when it comes to the so it's easy to [ __ ] with you right so that was it you know we're back friends again and then you know we go locker room where i mean we'll go to the court getting ready and i guess they already talked to him like so while i'm getting warm this is not him so when i came up there it was like oh gil uh they want to speak to you like what's up so it was like uh there was like uh did you have guns in the locker room i was like yeah uh i had four on javaris chair there's a oh okay what is this note oh i i put i put that note and it's like oh so it is true that i put the note yeah yeah and he was like no that uh you said pick one uh pick one that you want him to be shot with i was like wait what that's like no that sounds dumb as [ __ ] did you even did you actually think about that when it came before it came out your mouth i said no i told the note says pick one pick one that you are going to shoot me with he's like well that's not what we heard oh so javaris changed the story a little bit i don't know okay so i said i said it's pick one like i put four guns you pick one because that's your difference shoot me your shoe you're gonna shoot you're gonna shoot me with i said what i said first of all why would i shoot him i don't i don't get it like what am i going to shoot him for i don't owe him any money he doesn't owe me any money that i said what you're saying doesn't make sense he's like well then i was like well gil you know you're not allowed to have guns and lock around i was like well i'd be honest i was giving it to him i don't even really out of the water i was giving him nba policy that you could not have guns in your locker room nba wide right that was the policy i mean that's what ultimately came out yeah violated the nba rules by bringing firearms into an arena yeah right i don't know they were just like well you can't you guys play too much you guys can't have this in here it's like all right well then the security jackie you can you can have them because if jamar's don't want them and that was the end of it well you had to i mean there was actually a real investigation dc metro police yeah that ended up yeah they end up coming out uh-huh you know you had to surrender the guns which i didn't even have anymore anyway okay there was an investigation you were charged for carrying a pistol without a license uh which is a violation of dc's gun control you uh were suspended for the rest of the season or most the rest of the season oh that's a gray area that's where they tricked us okay explain okay so you you know how i said that they were on his chair i didn't say i brung him right so what i did wrong or the only crime that i made was that i said yes those are my guns i claim yep those are mines i never said i brung them never said i touched them there i didn't touch them i didn't hold them i didn't point them at anybody i wasn't near them so the only the only thing i'm guilty of was saying yes those were mines so when it all came down to it what are you guys going to suspend me for what did what law what law that i actually broke if we actually go to court i didn't so i didn't get suspended for guns in the locker room i got suspended for detrimental to the team because in philadelphia the pre-game yeah i was doing the motion mocking everybody yeah because everybody the team surrounded you they're sort of like shots i got them from even giving sunday you know even given sunday when they were doing touchdowns and [ __ ] they were doing all kind of crazy [ __ ] so you know i decided that's what we're going to do before pregame right because at that point david stern actually came in and uh in a statement said that arenas of behavior after the investigation started has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an nba game uh because at one point you were suspended uh indefinitely without pay until the investigation was complete and then um you know you were charged uh on january 15 to the felony of carrying unlicensed pistol outside of home or business well you you and and uh crinton were both suspended for the rest of season after meeting with stern yeah after meeting with him yeah you wrote a letter to the washington post apologizing you know because you let the kids down and uh on march of that year you got convicted and you got two years probation and 30 days in a halfway house which they're saying is a little bit unfair uh unfair yeah i know in terms of in terms of [ __ ] that was unfair [ __ ] two years probation and [ __ ] 30 days in the halfway house and the only thing i did was claim that they were mine right i just said everybody i didn't say i [ __ ] booked them shits right because uh creighton received a year of unsupervised probation and then if you compare it like for example delante west who was caught with a whole bunch of guns uh just had uh you know eight months of home detention two minutes two months of unsupervised probation 40 hours community service so but you actually ended up in a damn halfway house because because of this the story was so big right the story's so big yeah it's so big they because this was the conversation i had with stern what do you say what are you actually suspending me for i said what are you suspending me for and i said i wrote down i said i've researched every gun violation in nba i said you have tel affair he had a loaded gun on the plane three games telefair uh loaded gun on the bus and i said that's a loaded gun three games i said um steven jackson shot his gun mind you it's not on nba property but i can guarantee you that if you take if we had to say which one is worse unloaded guns is far i'd rather have unloaded guns in the locker room versus someone actually shooting a gun yeah in my so i said he got seven games didn't jason williams get caught shooting a gun in like the arena or something like that or something of that sorry i didn't i think he shot like a um his driver no that came later off but before then there was some other gun [ __ ] like yeah jason williams had a thing for gun so i was like um so i said the most you can suspend me is for claiming something one game and i said because at the end of the day all i have to say is i those are not my guns ah that they're not mine how are you gonna prove they are but you already said they're yours yeah i can return it y'all calling me a liar so i can say they're not mine you're not gonna have any there's not gonna be any fingerprints of mine on there there yeah yeah so and then so i was like so we're gonna spin i said i'll take one game two games no i'm not taking two games and that was my stance when i went to go talk to stern right but i didn't work didn't work out that way though because they suspended me for detrimental mental uh-huh so that's how they got away with it because they couldn't suspend me for a gun because there's that what am i violating because i didn't touch anything yeah i said they were mine right but it became a media circus at that point uh you actually had an adidas shoe deal yeah guild zero ended up dropping you yep over that because of the felony it was part of my contract if i agree exactly to a felony exactly and i guess after that you end up wearing like dolce gabbana she was on the court you just lost you know you just were all the shoes i've ever collected basically yeah designer whatever and you know like rappers started name-dropping you in songs uh rick ross and i'm a boss said better check the stats we fill in arenas yeah i got the gats and gilbert arenas two chains patrol margaritas devil from my channel i think jay-z was first bring all my guns to work gilbert arenas yeah what did jay-z say it was it was a song with um [Music] dr dre detox hold on a second let me look this up under pressure yeah hold on oh here we go all the all these little haters got me back with the nina gotta be bringing guns to work gilbert arenas quoted you yeah okay there you go so i was like yeah i was rock star you know right well suspended unfortunately crittenton had a uh you know the rest of his story ended up becoming very sad mm-hmm cringe in that point was that the end of his career after that situation yeah i i i to be honest i think he got more of a a bad he he got a bad he his wasn't fair because you gotta remember we we didn't he brought a loaded gun okay but you gotta okay we gotta rewind a little bit because when they came out with the story you gotta remember there was no gun from him you know it was me pulled a gun on the team remember that was the big the big hand like gilbert arenas pulled a gun on a teammate that's what the media thing was about right so how it was pushed is gilbert put a gun on teammate the other teammate didn't have a gun he didn't do anything so when they realized there's another gun he had the gun and it could have been the other way i'm not saying if it was i'm just saying it could have been the other way um they really looked down upon him because i think the goal was to get rid of my contract so the fact that it wasn't how it was painted it kind of left a bad taste in everyone's mouth so they kind of like blackballed them because i got suspended for detroit you gotta remember what i'm getting suspended for detrimental to the team because of my actions well he's not doing anything so what is he being suspended for so they just looped him in with me and then what they kicked him off the team after that yeah so basically okay well because a year later in november 2011 crinton was charged with murder in connection with the shooting of julian jones who was a 22 year old mother of four in atlanta according to reports uh this woman was not the intended target uh someone i guess had robbed him back in april uh during the shooting this woman got shot in the leg and they ended up dying during surgery he was arrested um you know released on bond then he was indicted they're saying that he allegedly joined the crips after siding with the lakers um and that there was another shooting that happened you know in retaliation of that over you know shooting us some bloods um you know ultimately uh while out on bond on murder charges he was arrested uh you know for an indictment of 13 other people accused of selling kilos of cocaine and hundreds of pounds of marijuana and ultimately he ended up pleading out to 23 years in prison did you have any communication with him after all to start happening yes i do really i do have communication to this day yeah you talk to him in prison yes what does he tell you his side of the story is you know so funny we don't really our re okay so our relationship was big brother little brother from the beginning you know um you know from the beginning from when he tried out for the wizards he tore through his shoes and i took mine off and said yo keep [ __ ] cooking the [ __ ] right so but he ended up getting drafted to the lakers and then eventually got him so when he came to the team you know we have this you know connection so every road trip he had come to my room we'll watch film order room service and i told him listen if you know you're trying to impress some girls or whatever just order the food or wine or whatever roses just or just charge it to my room so that was my that was my guy the reason i can challenge him is because we were so close yeah you know so what what ended up happening is the reason we were going at is because you know it's the little brother trying to stand up for himself that's all that was it was you know i'm calling your bluff out you say you're going to do something i want to see you do it you know no i mean he's not going to shoot me he's not going he's not he won't even throw a punch at me you know that's that's how close we were you know it just it just got out of hand that's all um so i remember when the d.a came and they wanted me to be a witness a character witness and i said well if you're going off of the gun incident i'm going to be a bad witness for you because that is my little brother like i what you're talking about that's not like he's a good kid you know you know yeah he got people in his ear that's pushing him other ways but i can't tell you that side of him because i don't know that's all i can tell you he worked hard he studied film you know like you know he's a good kid so i'm going to be a bad you know witness i know what the media is telling you that we just these enemies but no he's a good he's a good dude so that's all i can tell you so i'm pretty sure you don't want me understand you know what i mean so eventually they stopped calling um you know so when we talk we just talk about sports yeah like you know he's like yeah i'm coming home like i asked him about the story um or what happened and you know he was like the guy used the girl as a a shield oh wow okay you know the guy who's a girl as a shield from there we just you know you know it's it's more just you know how's the team doing you know so i'll give teammates you know i'll give him the number so he can call you know what's up with the big three man house curry you know it's is uh this kyrie handles that good like you know it's just it's back to what you know it was before yeah man sad situation yeah situation i mean you know it's like yeah you're getting involved in [ __ ] you really shouldn't be getting involved with a woman gets hit her four kids gotta grow up without a mother and you know is here you are this nba star now in prison yes you know i you know when you're losing when you're losing everything you know like that he lost everything yeah you know like you get suspended 50 games you know what i mean you're you're you're on your contract year nobody wants to touch you you know everything just snowballed you know that's why i said he he got the worst shake of it because even with the halfway house with me i wasn't in no [ __ ] halfway house like that like you know i was i was home half the time you know i just slept there you know i mean come on it's dc like it's dc i'm i'm it's like that's like trying to send [ __ ] lebron james to a halfway house right now he's come on there's no halfway house that's he's going to be able to do whatever he wants and you know so i didn't really have you know you know there was really nothing for me like i had i think was this two years supervised yeah but that's what it gave me just nothing what that was two years ago yeah i never met it for a member probation officer one time right at the beginning of that little [ __ ] [ __ ] i'm like checking pete like so i remember the answer like yeah we need to do p-test i said i'm in here for like guns i'm not here for drugs what's the [ __ ] is wrong i'm an athlete i don't do drugs i don't know if i can take all your piss tests every month you think i'm going to come from chicago or miami here to take the [ __ ] pp test no you better come up there and then they were like just saying this just stay out of trouble all right because you're not a deal yeah let's just stay out of trouble good i like i like the idea like my probation officer yeah back in 2002 you meet uh laura javon i guess uh you know you were playing for the warriors and she was in the pr department for the kings you guys ended up having four kids but at one point things started to go kind of kind of left right you kick her out of your house all the time yeah and uh i guess it first started in terms of like when it started to hit vlad tv's radar was that i guess you sold her 1 million engagement ring and i guess you said that she was wearing a fake ring the whole time she hit the real ring i was smart baby she sued you over that uh-huh and what happened with that last she lost listen listen i'm the mayweather of that court [ __ ] and i mean she lost every every battle right because it keeps going at one point you put a cinder block through her mercedes which is actually your mercedes that you bought and i guess you went on the internet you said uh tmz will be posting this tomorrow i'm gonna break the [ __ ] before they do march 2014 she came to my calabasas house and broke every single window so i decided to show her that i'll break my own [ __ ] before she does yes tmz both cars are mine they're my name when someone breaks 34 windows it's do you brody when you toss your number three monitor monitor computer in the pool you're like hey i'm all [ __ ] not so that's oh yeah because i [ __ ] my netflix up and i couldn't watch next yeah you could i guess it was all over netflix yeah yeah yeah yeah okay and then okay so what ends up happening is we break up yeah right i buy a house the house she wanted but she don't know i bought it okay so we broken up and i'm living in this house that she doesn't know i'm living in so i guess when she got wind of it that's when she came over and started destroying [ __ ] right and i guess at one point uh she told the media that uh you slept with her sister you gave her multiple stds um i guess was that when she claimed that that drea's baby was yours or something like that and you filed a three million dollar defamation lawsuit yesterday [ __ ] your mother of your four children [ __ ] crazy as [ __ ] trying to mess up my [ __ ] action on that no no so you went on the internet you said all my ex had to do was apologize and tell the public she lied about me fathering drea's son i had sex with her sister in 2002 but we met in 2003 and had four kids what the [ __ ] shaking my damn head [ __ ] and giving her an std i guess looked like a victim to a bunch of hollywood celebs that was more important to her now she has to pay my lawyer fees and me in damages around 3 million in real life hahaha i would brag all day but when you're 26-0 in court it's pointless she the mvp of faking for the gram yeah and then my favorite one you said in real life my ex would have to work at hoochie burger every day for 100 years at 12 bucks an hour with a 10 hour shift to pay that judgment off i had to do the math on it okay so i guess she went back to court and said okay there's no possible way i could pay three million dollars so they lowered it to 110 000. yeah so i was doing so okay so when you go through if you listen to hollywood it's the it's the hollywood like cocktail of breaking up like you know you break up the the the female always wants full custody then they do the whole um uh what restraining order you know they're trying to restrain order to keep you away from the kids so they can say they have fool because it's all about time you know the more time they get the more money they get yeah um so that's what all of it starts with you know it's time it's you know the more they give me time that's less money so if you want the money you have to try to prove you know all these things so when i found my defamation you know there's key words you use to boost money up you know can't sleep nausea depressed throwing up all that i didn't want to use those words because that's not actually how i feel you know it's you know i don't i don't feel that way so i'm not gonna lie and try to use words that just really doesn't fit now the point is i don't care about her money because she don't have none right you know she don't have three million so the fact that she has she ever worked while you guys got together after you guys started having kids no no no no jobs so there's no point of me really just using all these dumb words like it's really more funny to me and i'm really trying to prove a point that you know i didn't give you united i sleep with your sister and then father dress that's that's all like why like you just go out there and just say like you just go out there and purposely say [ __ ] you know because you're on instagram more popular than me at this point so all i can do is just defend myself so you know it was more about proving the point that yo hey ladies listen hey everybody out there i beat her she lost now she owes me for this dumb [ __ ] she said right because i guess at one point you try to seize the 110 000 out of a bank account oh yeah but then the bank accounts were empty yeah yeah did you ever get a penny out of this judgment i have not not one yet no okay i mean like every time she tries to if she pisses me off i'm going to try to attack her account just just for shits and giggles like i do it more for sure to give them but you know i'm like 50 cent right now right i want it but i don't want it because it it grows interest yeah you know so if you're getting married or hit the lottery you still owe me that money right you know but i mean you have four kids together like you know i think the kids are kind of caught in the middle of all this yeah right but now that gotta remember that's the reason i'm i i had to start the fight i didn't want to fight you know i just wanna like i won the judgment so people don't understand like i left i left for january 1st 2015. she takes me to court you know she wanted 244 000. so you know when someone wants 244 000 they want cars they want a house they need nannies this and that and then they go to court and the court says all right 10 grand a month right and he gets joined custody that right there like really [ __ ] your life up right because originally she was supposed to have forty thousand a month she was getting forty five she's like i read somewhere they got lowered from 40 000 to 10. so she wanted 244 000 that's the reason she took me to court yes wait she won a quarter million a month yes because it goes off the contract so that's what her lawyer calculated okay so what ends up happening is the judge says no you've been getting ten thousand dollars a month and you have to get out of his house and he's gonna have joint custody so right there you want full you want 244 and the judge says boom joint custody 10 000. that right there throws like that's like playing that's like gambling and you got 10 000 to go with and then you get hit first hit and now you're left with 300 bucks you're right you you like you're supposed to leave the casino but of course you're just going to keep fighting yeah right so from there that's when the drama see the drama started after i got custody see there was no drama before it was you know if you ever look at you know some of the timelines that's you know single uh ready to mingle titty falling out on the red carpet there was no guilt there was no bother of gilbert readers bro she was having a ball like i'm i'm living life i'm enjoying there's no drama there's no nothing this is smooth when i won joint custody which means in her world [ __ ] him and the kids continued their same life and i'm on the out getting ten thousand dollars a month living on my own [ __ ] that and that's where the drama was created got it got it well then in 2015 your former assistant john white gets convicted of stealing 2.1 million dollars from you yeah that's what he got predicted but yeah he stole more yeah how much did he steal probably like six six nine that's what we calculated how did he how is he able to steal that much money you know what clever it was it was it was clever okay so um so you have a main count and then you have your your your your play money account so i was always on like fixed income basically from my rookie season yeah so i have bank of america and then you know once you sign a contract then you know you get a financial advisor they put their money they put the money in whatever wells fargo's and all these big ass but i still keep my play money my play money so you know just you know put put 5000 put 10 i'm going to casino put 20 in there so that's where that's the money i use that or my credit card so around six 267 he moved with me he was there for two months and then he oh so this was a long time assistant this was someone you really yeah was part of your family damn yeah yeah so you know so he was my assistant he lived at the house you know take the cars out with you and everything yeah so i guess through the mail you have my accounts so you have you know like stubs of you know my bank bank of america account because since it was just my little personal bank of mayor account it didn't go to my financial advisor so all you needed at the time was um the number and your social security so i guess he set me up online as an online user that he had access to so he just set my account up as an online so he can log in online and what it ended up happening is whenever i needed something done he'll just go like yo john can you tell them i need my card fixer can you tell them to put 10 10 grand in my account so he'll call and say hey gil needs 10 grand in your his account he's getting ready to do this so what ended up happening is he'll say hey gil's going to miami he needs 50 000. when they put the money in his account with my in my account as soon as it hits the account he takes it out so whenever i go to the bank i don't see nothing different because you gotta remember if i have 5 000 in there he's not touching the 5 000. ah he's only touching the money he's ordering he's transferred since you're not looking through all the activities carefully you don't really know because there's a payment account so there's no big money so like i i know like i only have 1200 in here [ __ ] you know so you know i spent three here i only got you know you know 900. so when he's you know swiping the money i don't see it because he's not touching my money but there was a couple of times where i'll go to the bank right and i'm like 10 10 racks damn let me take this money out before y'all [ __ ] around and you know so there was a couple of times where like it'll be like 10 racks in there and i'm like damn the [ __ ] 10 racks in there and then i go back and it's gone okay they must have made a mistake well with the stolen money he purchased several cars paid off his mortgage uh the jury found him guilty of 11 counts of wire fraud four counts of filing a false tax-related document he got sentenced over four years in prison did you get any of that money back were you able to like see the house i guess when he got out of jail they gave me a check and then some of the house money when his wife sold it but you know like i i nowhere near the six million dollars the feds only went after 2.1 because that they can it's it's it was that um but he didn't have to go to jail he didn't have to go like i i like i even i say listen i know what you did right like i caught him on an accident like i caught it this is like 2006 like 2006 to 2000 like 11 12. i called him because i was trying to i'm in trying to go to a little food market in calabasas and it takes cash so i had to go to the bank and then because i don't have a card you know i get just so i have to go inside the bank show my id and they ask me all these stupid ass questions and i didn't know none of them right so now i gotta talk to the manager and then one of the questions was who else is on your bank account no one and then i was like just gonna get my 200 bucks i said this is how much i have in it this is what i used i used that i bought that i bought that that's my account now then well the fact that you don't know who else is on your account uh kind of scares us so i had to go sit with a manager and i'm like oh i just want the [ __ ] 200 like this [ __ ] ridiculous it's like 200 bucks bro and then we we're sitting here and it was like um do you know anybody with a name jay that's on your account and i could not even phantom his name like joe i opened this account in 2002 it was like when did you open this account yeah when i got money that's when you open accounts when you get money you don't open it up before so when i got money and that was you know 2001 and you know there's like so i'm like who the [ __ ] is just trying to call old business manager you have somebody in your database jj and then i told you that's like the only person i know with a jam my life is john is this the only person that's like john what that says his name john white that's like yeah oh john white's not in my account and she was like yeah okay we have a problem here and then she was like i don't supposed to show you this and she was like you don't you sure you don't have access and we're trying to figure out and then she's just showing me just and she they they gave me that year so that was 2010 and she printed out that year and i'm just looking at all this money in my account going through it what the [ __ ] is leaving your account yeah coming in and leaving so i go to my financial advisor and i'm like yo what the [ __ ] is this yeah and i was like like how is so much money's going how is this money coming in here and he was like you're asking for it who the [ __ ] is asking for it what john's asking for why is john asking for money for me right why are you you know so then we're trying to break down of really what's happening so what the reason i i tried to give him the the deal like hey listen this is the deal your wedding ring your house all that you're gonna write that over to me yeah you're gonna pay me rent for living in this house yeah but everything your cars jewelry all of it's coming to me give it all up um you're going to write a letter on what you did because i'm suing the financial advisors because they didn't do their due diligence you know they didn't double check to make sure you was not stealing so um and then you can you know you can live whatever life you're gonna have free you're not gonna be bawling like you used to but you get to have a you know life with your family or i can turn it over to the feds they're going to find you guilty i'm going to sue them anyway so either way i'm getting my money back from my financial people so either you're going to be in jail or not the second option b i'm going to get the same stuff anyway yeah because when you're in jail i'm going to get it so however you want to play it he's like oh [ __ ] that i do nothing give it to the feds so i called his mother his mother tried to convince him like yo if you did anything wrong you do not want the feds coming in right i think because what ends up happening is we were so good friends that he didn't think i was going to do it and i said all right man listen i i'm gonna do it right i'm gonna do it so use go go get a he's like nah just do do what you gotta do right and the fans have a 98 conviction right sorry yeah so i did what you had to do yeah so i guess you should as you should and he ends up getting convicted going to prison did you sue the financial advisors and did you get the money back yes they settled oh really see did you get most of it back no uh probably like oh i can't say okay i just thought about it okay the lighting i lied in child sport courts okay i believe that same year that's when the the matt barnes derek fisher fight happened and matt barnes came in and gave you the play by play and you're somehow involved yeah yeah entwined did you actually see the fight no i was still the phone when you were on the phone yeah so he's calling you when he was on the way to the house yeah so he calls he calls me the day before which which is which and this is just so everyone knows this is with your baby mother's sister yes and you're living down the street from all this no i don't know i'm in woodland hills i'm okay okay so i get a call i get a call from matt the davey four yeah and he was like yo hey man can you say man like i'm hot i i need to punch on somebody i said what's going on bro he was like man you know her bluetooth kicked on and [ __ ] derek fisher's voice and i can hear him talking i was like they're they're facing your fishing yeah they're fishing there fisher and so i'm like okay he's for he he's in he's with the ma he's without grizzlies he's in memphis so my mind says he's in memphis because training camp just started so i'm thinking older kids the boys went out there for training camp blah blah blah all right cool that's what's up and then the next day i met i met wing stop getting some wings and then he was like hey man meet me at the uh meet me and redondo all right wait what what redondo yeah man uh derek fisher's at the house i'm heading over there wait wait huh what do you mean wait what wait why are you here aren't you in training camp it's like yeah we're in training camp i'm in santa barbado oh you have training camp in santa barbara hour and halfway yeah oh that makes sense wait why is that fishery isn't he the coach of the knicks he said he said i don't know why that [ __ ] is here but god sent them to me and i'm going to deliver so he's like meet me redondo and i'm like all right all right because i need he said just in case i need to get bailed out so i'm like i'm trying to like yo like yo this is a bad idea right so i'm like ah hey you want some wings i'm at the wingstop i can get you some lemon peppers some some spicy hot like i'm trying to like throw them off a little bit it's like i'm gonna [ __ ] all that man just meet me in redondo like all right so i he hungs up hangs up i was like what the [ __ ] are they and then i remember her brother saying yo earlier today yo hey come to redondo we're having like a little pow wow we're gonna have a little powwow get together and i'm sitting here like oh [ __ ] it's a pow wow it's about to be a pow wow [ __ ] night gets there so i thought so i'm hitting the brother up like yo i'm trying to hit the brother to let him know yo get the [ __ ] out of there but but the brother lonnie wasn't answering so i'm like uh so he so matt calls it backs like where you at and i'm like uh no where are you at because i'm i'm i'm i'm driving to you i said i'm driving to your place in marina del rey he's like nah don't meet me meet me at the house of redondo i said but damn i'm almost i'm still at wing stop because i already put the order in you know it takes like 15 minutes so i'm like yo where are you at he's like i'm in redondo getting off the exit god damn how fast are you driving he's like i'm going i'm going i was like yo damn so you don't want to meet that so i'm trying to like stall so you know what i mean that the marina like no ga get over here i said all right man i'm i'm in the whip right now i was like i'm past oh i'm bad is this a ten i'm just starting naming [ __ ] he's like yeah he closes outside so listen don't do nothing until i get there all right just wait until i get there yeah that didn't work out right so i i hang up i hang up all right now this [ __ ] is crazy lonnie where's lonnie get the [ __ ] out of there bro this is about it's about to be all bad this man is on a [ __ ] mission so i get a call and it's matt and ah [ __ ] and then i was like yo are you there yet because i'm i'm almost there it's like yeah i'm already i'm already here i'm i'm outside the gate i said what do you mean outside of here i thought you just in the car you mean stay in the car matt i'm coming i'm like i'm coming so stay in the car he was like nah i'm like i'm outside again i'm just checking the scene now [ __ ] matt be it matter uh i hit up gilbert uranus and i'm just like uh you know kind of briefly giving squads like i probably i'm probably gonna need to get bailed out of jail tonight he's like what's going on and i'm just like you know derek's man i kind of give him a little stories like you know give her some [ __ ] fire starter himself so he's the instigator he was gassed anyways like you got a guy that brings the gun into the locker room right he's like i got you whatever you need you're good so i end up getting to the house and i give my keys back by this time so the front door is locked and i hear people in the backyard and i smell the fire pit so i hop the fence and it's crazy too like i'm in a hoodie and my beanie and i'm walking along the side of the fence and then this is probably 10 o'clock at night by now so you walk down the side of the house and then the backyard opens up a little bit and as soon as i turn into the backyard i see derrick with his arm around gloria so i just fire on him stuck i guess you jumped over the gate yeah i jumped on the back fence because it was locked right because gilbert arenas i guess did an instagram post about it yeah there was no play but there was nobody stop like there was no i was on another planet that night so yeah so i ended up walking in there and then the first people i see are glory and derrick so i turned the corner take off on him everybody started screaming and she had people over a bunch of people over so i hit him he flies into or falls into the sliding glass door okay so you actually punch him in the face and you connect okay and hit them and knock them into the to the sliding glass door and then i'm jumped on by like three or four dudes everyone's screaming all the girls are telling me to stop matt stop matt and i get these [ __ ] off my toe whoever gets in my way is getting hands so i get into the house and we get around this little island and we're kind of playing tom and jerry him no we need to talk we need to do this like no we don't need to do this everybody scream like [ __ ] that you had your chance to talk to me bro like you know we fighting derek them did but i guess he told a joke and everyone laughed he flipped yeah oh he think he's funny and that's all i heard oh he thinks he's funny i guess he must have put the [ __ ] in his pocket and jump the gate and all i can hear in the background no don't you don't you run by the way he had a pencil on him no he put the phone in the phone so he didn't hang out so he put the phone in his pocket so all you hear is a bunch of running around screaming so you're actually listening and i'm like no no i'm not no don't get get go the other side and all you hear is because i guess they they're in the back fireplace and [ __ ] talking and i guess he must have said something funny and that [ __ ] pissed him off and he jumped over and all you hear is get back here [ __ ] and they just run and running and then eventually get got that [ __ ] yeah i got his ass i'm like bro so i shouldn't show up anymore bro get the [ __ ] out of there now like i'm still in the parking lot like oh man fine this [ __ ] is crazy right he ends up beating him up essentially right yeah i mean he gave me a play by play the whole derek fisher fight i guess you were like derek fisher ain't gonna be showing up to practice yeah i'm really i guess practice is over with yeah you know so i'm gonna go in there and joke about it that's what i do so yeah and yeah well ultimately uh you know you know they end up working it out and now they're they got married you know derek fisher ended up marrying uh you know matt barnes ex and you know matt barnes said you know listen it could it could be worse you know she could have gone with someone a lot worse than derek fisher so you know he seems to care for the kids and yeah you know you know ultimately you know they're they're good dudes you know you know their friends their teammates you know just you know there's just some things you know as athletes you just don't do and i guess once you know they're across that line you know you know it is matt just couldn't help but you know at some point i knew they were closer they were closer to being friends than you know people thought because they were friends so just once they got over that emotional part of it yeah you know there was a lot of drama we went to the whole story about the parking lot how she tried to drive off with the kids and all that nonsense where you got full custody i believe and so forth so luckily it all got worked out at the end and you know people could go on and being parents and co-parenting and such you did an instagram post in 2016 where you talked about how you scammed the strip club out of 40 000. you know you know um you you are really the king of internet trolling man because really what you say online is is people take that gay players is just unsurpassed it's funny because it's like everyone takes everything for literal they take it literally right because what you said is or you know i'll go to the strip club or 80 000 worth of ones throw about 40 000 strippers take the rest out of the club have one of my teammates sign that bill wake up the next day call american express say my car was stolen at the strip club last night and these charges ain't mine with no questions asked policy they'll see this not your signature refund all your money back so i got them i got 80 000 spent 40 000 plus took my 40 000 back there you go yeah did american express actually investigate you after of course and then what do they find first of all they don't know what they're looking at anyway right because it's not like i gave a year right right but i never gave a year and it was just to be honest i was lying it was just there you go hypotheticals hypothetical like that's you can technically do that they're not gonna know the difference there you go well right because technically with that amount of money they would probably you know if the strip club would debate it they would get carried but as i said nobody thinks about it right you know they just hear a story i mean strip club's not going to take a 40 000 loss sitting down no yeah exactly there you go um there is a there is a post that happened in 2017 about uh you don't have to be mixed to be beautiful and uh you made some comments about uh you know uh how when you look at the 50 most beautiful women in the world you don't see a lot of dark skinned women on that list okay okay and then you mentioned lupita niyonga and you said uh everyone's saying her skin looks beautiful but what about her face though lights off yeah people got on you for that especially because your baby mother's light skin and the whole knife okay so we have this okay so i'm having a conversation what's so funny it's still kind of like laying around the so i was having a conversation with a bunch of black actresses right and they were they were talking about how hollywood right now is replacing them with the others which is you know uh jamaicans africans uh dark women from england so they're saying they're replacing us with them because on camera you can't tell the difference the audience doesn't know um they're cheaper and they listen they're saying that we're we're we use we use racism to get jobs you know so they're saying they're easier to work with and you know so like damn that's [ __ ] they doing that and they're saying like if you look at all the the actors now they're not even from america you know they have all these accents and boom boom because they're cheaper so they're pushing us out of they're pushing us out of work so they're saying there's this big war going on so i'm sleep i wake up and you know how you just like you scrolling through instagram and then i see a post um and i'm like oh that's how y'all feel it so the post actually said you don't have to be mixed to be beautiful all i because it was from an african site all i read was if you're mixed you're not beautiful and you're one you got to be 100 from the motherland to be considered beautiful so i get pissed off so i'm like you know i have two mixed kids they are dark you're not saying they're beautiful well then let's go then and that's where it was from like so i'm like well i have two dark i have two dark girls but they're mixed so you're saying they're not they're not 100 pure gloria javon is what nationality exactly uh mexican she's mexican yeah i don't even know someone i haven't even corrected the name because i don't even like the [ __ ] like that right it's go van but you can keep watching that [ __ ] okay you know you're gonna keep watching it for me all right [ __ ] [ __ ] feel me so okay so so i go online and this is the funny part about it i go online and i type in beautiful most uh the the most beautiful african women and hit sin all right and then lupita this girl lupita and some other girl pops up so i'm like this is what they this is what they call beautiful oh hell no so if you if you read what i'm saying so i said um who's y'all who's your almost beautiful so i'm i'm fighting with not me i'm fighting with the sight who's your most beautiful this girl and this girl so lupita and whoever number two ill i'll have sex with them with the lights off right come on i'm a man right so i'm literally saying i'm gonna have sex with him just with the lights off you know it ain't has nothing to do with skin just just with the lights off just to like throw that in your face and i said she has nothing on and then i named american black beauties you know gabrielle union i said um kelly rowland i said carrie washington serena williams she has nothing on them right so i'm naming beautiful black women so how was your african in front of them she has nothing on him that was the start right that's how i'm actually arguing but it turned into something else because black because black women black women don't separate nationalities like everyone else does you know so you know uh you know black america you know if you're jamaican if you're this you're that you're considered black america even though they don't consider themselves black america if you ask an african what's your nationality i'm african nigerian yeah you're not black oh hell no like you know it's one you know if i say hey what are you you know if you're white if you're jewish you're going to say what you are you're not going to say i'm caucasian right here like so but black people with the same with the same this color will say black we'll say they're black they're part of black but you know you tell someone who's from poland or russian he's not going to say he's caucasian you know so only we separate we only try to connect whole so when i made the disrespectful comment black women swarmed you swarmed me and i'm like well technic technically whoever the blackest person is whatever culture that is they have black after that it goes down if you go by and i put up a color grid i put up a color grid like busted as i said because it was an african site they didn't do all that so i put up a color grid and i said all right listen black that's this culture uh chocolate that's this culture america listen we're considered brown we're we're brown we've been we're mixed in so we're not so this has nothing to do with us i'm attacking them but you know once they came at me all i can do is say [ __ ] it and just double down yeah and then there's this one you read what about her face yuck yeah uh 2019 when talking about uh how tristan was cheating on chloe with jordan woods well that panned out to be very very true right now when talking about chloe you said that she used to worry about her [ __ ] skills if every uh dude that she dated cheated her [ __ ] is trash you know horrible you know how horrible your [ __ ] is for this dude to be [ __ ] a 22 year old she's only been using her [ __ ] for a few years she ain't even a professional [ __ ] yet and he would rather deal with c vagina he didn't even cheat on you with a lebron type of talent veteran he went for trae young exciting but no playoff experience yeah that was wild that was awesome and you know you fast forward 2021. tristan just had a baby with a whole other girl that's what i said you know this is it it kept getting better right i mean it kept it kept getting better chris is funny like i don't know he's like that's that's that's a that's a that's a post that didn't that aged well yeah actually that one did age well that that ain't so much honestly quite honestly i'm a troll like i i'm already trying i'm a troll i use the internet just to be a comedian it's just so much works yeah there's so much things going on in this world i'm just i just want to be funny right last year you won a 300 000 in the lotto i'm sure that pissed off everyone was your rich ass yeah yeah yeah yeah they hate you know when you when you just just find a way to get checks to just yeah i'm sure it's very annoying for all the hardwood people out there they've been playing the lotto for 30 years and they've won 100 bucks well at one point dennis rodman uh in an interview said he would have locked up lebron james if he was the nba today mm-hmm he said [ __ ] yeah well it locks his ass up lebron is so easy to play he's so [ __ ] easy to play you don't have any moves only move he has streaked on line he ain't got no moves where is he going where is he going that quick you responded uh dennis rodman six seven two hundred ten pound guy wouldn't be stopping lebron james he's a point guard you're a great defending people back in the basket he's going downhill your bruce strength has no bearing on downhill guards the hand check worked because the guard wasn't a scorer he was a setup guy so he's sitting there uh with his back to the basket trying to get this offense and get to the big man down low so it's easy to just hand check a guy who's not moving anywhere i asked i actually brought this up with john sally who's a good friend of mine as a regular guest on the show he had a very interesting answer because john played with dennis rodman on the same team this is what uh what john sally said gilbert arenas did an interview recently where he explained why dennis rodman couldn't guard lebron james now this referenced an interview in 2019 where rodman said he would have locked up lebron on the court if they're in the nba together the [ __ ] yeah would have locked his ass up lebron is so easy to play he's so [ __ ] easy to play he don't have any moves only move he has a streak down line he ain't got no moves where is he going where's he going that quick now gilbert arenas responded he said dennis rodman six seven 210-pound guy wouldn't be stopping lebron let it go he's a point guard you're great at defending people back in the basket back to the basket he's going downhill your bruce strength has no bearing on downhill guards he said the hand check worked because the guard wasn't a scorer he was a setup guy so he's sitting there with his back to the basket trying to get this offense and get it to the big man down low so it's easy to just hand check a guy who's not moving anywhere okay so all of gilbert said was true the hand check changed everything the physical play being able to touch like that they got rid of that because it worked in dennis's um in dennis's favor um but as far as dennis being six seven we call dennis on the pistons we don't call him worm we call him big man so it's a big man because big man guard akeem and he's right akeem had his back to the basket but dennis was the fastest player fastest runner the most unbelievable physical specimen to play basketball anybody that knows basketball will tell you that's about dennis and dennis in his prime there's never been anybody like lebron i say that there's been bernard king who can who is the closest i've seen uh lebron get to it's been magic johnson being able to dribble and pass and see the floor and get his teammates involved um there's been kobe bryant with a leg laser focus there's a michael jordan who took everything he could from dr j and and and all the people he watched but lebron is all of them and um the difference is d-rod the referees or the nba's change this way they're they're not caring about the defense they want more points because our sport now this nba sport it's focused to international play not the down dirty east coast is physical and the west coast is finesse that mentality of what the nba used to be is no longer so you couldn't i'm glad dennis feels that and i think dennis would guard him greatly but dennis also got it um the one person i saw dennis have problems with is rain man and uh that was a different way of playing too he's right you can't check people now you can't you can't put your forearm on him you can't drive him to something you can't you just can't play the way we used to play agree or disagree with john silly no i mean he agreed to what i was saying pretty much you know you know it's you know evolution and that's what makes it hard to talk to a lot of older players the 70s 80s 90s players because they don't factor in evolution you know so what you were good at then has changed so hand checking rules moves you know moves have changed since then when he made the comment i'm not commenting because i'm like it's sporadic i'm just saying i'm researching it and then to make my comment i i saw what happened when the prototype number one came into the league and you didn't know what to do with it which was grant hill a two guard three guard who actually went left to right y'all didn't know what the [ __ ] was going on when when when when when he crossed over yeah you had to guard uh you know you had tim hardaway who had the timmy cross you never had a 2-3 that actually crossed that fast and he was barbecuing you know pippin jordan and rodman with the [ __ ] crossover and he couldn't shoot a lick you know you know younger grand hill couldn't she didn't shoot very well but he got to the basket like no other so if you can deal with prototype one what makes you think you can deal with the 2010 20 prototype of guard you can't the moves that they do now you have no you've never seen in your life so you you wouldn't be able to guard and try to do the thing like these [ __ ] is euros stepping over your 210 body hero step pushing you into that lane like 80s people think like fouling was defense oh yeah we're just going to wrestle him yeah that's not deep that's not actual defense bro he's just following me and hoping that i don't want to do it anymore that is not you didn't actually stop me you just [ __ ] fouled me till i just [ __ ] wanted to give up yeah you know so it it i laugh at it because it's like no i watch the game like the game evolves some of you some of you can evolve your the way you played the game was better it was more advanced than what you guys were at like so like a tony ku coach you know a scottie pippen those guys can actually play because their attributes transcended that like you guys were the prototypes that moved forward dennis rodman under size four that can guard every position okay you're you're your dream on green okay you know he's a little bigger um more athletic you know can score a little bit better but that's that's who you are in today's game if we take draymond greens at you know and put him in that era he he's going to average 20 something rebound he gonna get 20 rebounds 15 rebounds he's going to do all that but he's going to pass more he's going to pass better you know that but you got to remember you guys are prototype ones these guys or we've we've evolved they've made that position better like so it's like no you're not going to be able to guard these guys fair enough just like like me i'm not gonna be able to guard curry you know you know and i'm i'm i'm five years away from him like this is a dif i didn't have to guard that guy well didn't you make a comment about steph curry not being a top five no no okay so somebody was like um is curry a top five point guard yeah and i said no he's not a top five point guard right because the point guard that that that phrase is this point guard someone who's facilitating getting everybody involved so i said he's not a top five point guard but he's a top five he's top three guard in the nba so he might not be top five because you know point guard you're talking about magic you're talking about uh chris paul rondo uh lomelo ball like uh lonzo ball those are two point guards like your your kyries your currys your games those are hybrid guards so i can't compare i can't compare you're 28 and seven versus 10 and 17 assists 10 and 15 assists your points are so so far ahead of this guys that when you guys match up your stats blow his out of the water so i can't put you guys in that same category because it's the the position has evolved so much so i was like he's not top five point guard but he's a top two top two guard in the nba so i said if you understand how that works like he's not point guard but guard if we just threw all the if we throw the ones and the twos in there and put him in he's top two okay if you stop two who's one then now lebron okay there you go there you go there you go well me speaking of lebron you made a comment about the isaiah stewart lebron fight uh you know uh elbow happened uh during the lakers uh pistons game uh you know steward got elbow in the face and the eye had a bunch of stitches and he basically charged lebron you made an ig post when you talk about stewart you said pack all your [ __ ] up your winter coats the boots because you're about to be traded to budapest somewhere because you can't charge at the king like that on tv we will drug test you expeditiously just to make sure that the rage isn't drug related read the memo on fight attempts in the nba you don't square up with james kevin durant steph curry or klay thompson you also said that the fight was worse than your gun incident that happened just just to throw that troll troll i mean what do you think about that fight overall yeah the reason i said it it became too much okay he hit you in the eye you fail you can tell just by lebron's response that he didn't mean to hit you in the face like he meant to throw elbow like get the [ __ ] off me but he didn't mean to hit you in the face that's why when when you fail he tried to you know you pick him up you know it's all like damn my bad i ain't you know it's like when you when you're playing in a game and someone's hanging on you you're gonna always like try to get like get off me but it's more of a scare tactic than you know you're not really trying to hit the guy but but he hit him so he's like trying to so right there let you know he's not you know he's not being an aggressor you know he [ __ ] up he's not trying to be an aggressor and you know stewart you know the more that people tried to hold him back it's like the more emotional he got you know to the point where it's like well it's not like lebron is like nah [ __ ] let's fight this you know it's not one of those it's just like oh you know my bad i'm sitting in the back i'm you know checking making sure my wristbands is you know my wristbands it's working well you know right because lebron historically has not been a dirty player no just hasn't it's just not his style he's just it's just big yeah it's just big you know that's what i'm saying it's one of those things where yeah you played against that guards do it all the time like you hold on to me and then you you know do one of those quick like get off me but you're not playing hit and bite in the face so you know i just thought it was just it was too much to that player yeah there's you just there's you can you can't do that at the end bro like that's somebody else you're making you're making too much of a scene on lebron james like like bro they're going to really i guarantee if you ask them they drug tested him within that week 100 100 if you're a player who averages 15 and your ass scored 50 you're gonna be drug tested okay that's that's just [ __ ] drug tests we got drug to uh bill back to back 50 drug tests we want to just make sure everything is all right here so you know watching that kind of that thing happen was like ah that could have went that could have went bad like they could have made an example because of the pistons thing before they could have made it they could have made an example gave them ten games and nobody would have blinked they would have blinked right and i mean what do you think these days when you know players like lebron are actually getting fans thrown out because you had a situation i remember uh you know when i was going through some of your notes like i think you were playing against the celtics and one of the fans started calling like the n word with like the hard r like r e r yeah the hard r right um has that happened a lot during the course of you playing yeah i mean fans as fans as fans you know as athletes you gotta remember we have two we have we have we have two sets of i guess two sets of standards right um it's like what we accept from fans and what we accept from players so what we expect from players is a lot worse than what a fan can actually tell us that's going to piss us off right so we're used to this because you're in the same battlefield this so you know you you tell me my girl's cheating on me you doing this like [ __ ] off you know i mean like i'm gonna bust your ass we're just gonna we're just gonna be the trash talking right because that's part of the game then you also have part of the game from the fans too that you know that they're going to chime in so if you ever notice you only hear the fans when you get your ass when you get your ass those fans comments hurt more um but with lebron it was more that they went uh from what you know i heard they went they said something about his son yeah yeah uh i guess one of the fans said uh i hope ronnie uh dies in a car accident yeah that's that you know as a fan at a basketball game that's too much because that has nothing to do with this the game itself yeah yeah i mean trolling just trolling like i remember you know i you know when pj washington was playing recently all the fans you know started chanting you know but that's part of that that's part of the game that's part of the game that's part of the controlling over his baby mother but to say your son's gonna die in a car i hope your son dies in a car accident yeah you know that that that's where like if all out of all the ones i've ever heard that is the one you get kicked out of the game for every everyone else like yeah that's part of the game you suck you know you know you you suck real bad right now like yeah you [ __ ] stunk it up you're down 20 and like like come on you're down 20 and you can hear somebody in the tour throw saying something bad about you yeah you know it's i mean listen i haven't if you'd run our tests i mean we broke down the whole you know malice in the palace situation you know but then they're actually throwing things out i felt bad i i actually felt bad like when i when you watch it i felt bad because he got the worst of the suspension and technically he didn't do nothing i can't change who i am yeah i can't change the fact that you know i had to grow up in survival mode and then when i get older if you put me in a situation where i got to survive i will it was a time it happened you know it was something that you wish it didn't happen because you lost a lot of money but you put yourself in the city anybody put yourself in a situation you know they probably would have done you know would have done the same thing it was unfortunate but um what do you think really triggered it going over the top the way it did because what do you think triggered it i don't know i don't know i don't know either if you don't know i don't know if you don't know i don't know you don't know i don't know right because then even the fans started getting involved in it and everything yeah you know it was if if nobody knows what happened then i don't know what happened i ain't gonna lie he touched out a few people that did he you gotta remember he went to swing and got grabbed you gotta remember so he never connected with anyone no so he runs up he runs up i saw him punching that's what i said we gotta remember once he runs up he gets the swing he got grabbed first and while he got grabbed they threw the water in his face and then he reacts yeah so his is all reaction yeah everyone else wasn't yeah but he's the one with most lose on there you know i mean because we're all men at the end like i watched it and it really told me a lot about ron one he wasn't an alpha male um really yeah he was scared of alpha male you can hear it like i was scared of jermaine o'neal and i didn't want to be on that team anymore you can you can hear like you just listen to him like yes ron was a tough guy he was he was protect he protects his space yeah i mean he's also had serious mental issues yeah he thanked you know after you know winning uh the finals of the lakers he shouted out his therapist what does that mean but what alpha male will say they have a therapist right no none so if you re if you just listen to him you gotta remember he was a tough guy then they had germaine o'neal and he's older male 1 and it was scary then stephen jackson comes oh steven jackson's scary these guys are crazy like no alpha male tells you that someone else is crazy so it was one of those that like i'm i'm watching like i watched it first for the story then i watched it for character and i'm watching like the alpha males were stephen jackson and um o'neill because he felt so comfortable that they had his back that he can lay on a he can lay on the on on a scoreboard and don't have to worry about getting touched because he knows the pit bulls are out there that's how i watched it it was like dang and now i feel sorry because he got painted as this evil guy and he's technically the chihuahua out of the group yeah man and look i mean [ __ ] has gotten out of hand i mean you know the whole trey young spitting uh incident you know he got spit on by a fan uh i mean fans crossed the line you know unfortunately but you know you and i realize this as public figures and you know men with a lot of money is that you have to act your wage unfortunately because we're the ones with everything to lose this random person who's trying to get under your skin who's trying to make you you know lose your character and then sue you afterwards that that's really the game yeah and you got to realize that game coming into this like you know i mean like some random dude could spit my face and i could punch him in the face and i'll be sued the spit doesn't matter in the court of law well you could have just walked away like you know he wasn't threatening your life like yo like and this is this is the sad part you know of of being in this space but then again you're compensated for being in that space but it's still you don't you don't ever penalize the person first action one you gotta remember there's no action two if you actually stop action one from doing what action one does so if the courts ever decide to say hold on wait before we penalize the reactor let's start penalizing the action so you spit in his face he punched you and you want to sue you pay his legal fees right that right there stops everyone from trying to antagonize people yeah i agree it stops it but now that wait a minute he's spinning his face and he did this and the guy pushed him he got 50 000. [ __ ] yeah now you now they're purposely going out trying to get paid open season like i seen the um it was like was it kevin durant kevin durant and who was it in the dm going at each other um is it rap report yeah they were going at each other like rapaport yeah and um kevin durant gets fined 50 grand for what having a [ __ ] grown man conversation between two adults that's a private conversation that's what i'm saying i mean listen i i've interviewed michael for you know we you know we message each other from time to time and i i thought that that was not cool by mike posting these these private dms you know what i'm saying like i honestly thought that was not cool especially since they seem to have some level of relationship with each other you know what i'm saying but it's but the nba why are you finding him do you think mike's mike's job find him no for this no so why are you finding this guy for like it should be an equal don't don't like like if if mike is fine then you find kevin if nothing happens to mike nothing happens to kevin that's just period you got to be you got to be fair stop like it's like stop going after the guy with the money to prove a point the only point you proved is you know what i'm just going to stop [ __ ] with people period you know just yeah i mean that's what happens the more rich and famous you get you just start [ __ ] with less people because i mean [ __ ] i've been sued you know i mean for stupid [ __ ] like it's like yo this didn't even happen and i got i got to settle yep now you got to see i mean i remember someone sued me and in the paperwork they said i'm part of the russian mafia and they got a settlement out of that [ __ ] from my insurance company i'm like the russian mafia i have a [ __ ] successful internet company like oh like you want to see my taxes what i do is common knowledge but yet here i am dealing with this [ __ ] because we because we picked i don't even know any russian mafia members we pay for it to go away we pay for it to go away and that's and that's what people that's where people understand that yeah we pay for it to go away because it's less of a headache oh yeah man listen i i have been in mediation before and i remember like we were speaking to the mediator and we're like this is all just a lie it's not true and the mediator said the truth doesn't matter i'm just trying to come up with a number they said that to our face said i don't care about the truth i'm just here to come up with a number that everyone's okay with and that's not the legal system that's how the legal system you know and you know just as well as i do because that's why that's how the legal system works it's it has nothing to do with it has nothing to do with innocence or truth it's just what number are you willing to settle with for this to go away exactly and when the person suing you who doesn't have a lot of money gets a lawyer on contingency who's going to take a percentage where they're not paying any legal fees and you're saying they're going like i'm 150 000 into this [ __ ] lawsuit yeah i was starting with depositions yet so what the [ __ ] am i doing here and then you got to pay for it then you know and then you got to pay for your lawyer their lawyer and then if you if you prove they're lying and you counter sue and win just like in your situation you win you want three million dollars from your baby mother that you can never collect and that you've not got a penny for it it got lowered 110 000 you still didn't get nothing like trenton thompson i wanted to write on instagram bro don't even waste your time trying to put a gag order that guy i go order is [ __ ] meaningless because if that is your baby mama she's going to get child support yes you can't sue her for child support what'd you think when allegedly he sent her a message that's saying that basically said hey take the 75 000 for an abortion you know i'm about to be retired and you're going to get you know i believe you said you're going to get the child support of an unemployed man which is a couple hundred dollars a month so just take this theory what he's saying is actually correct yeah um but that's if he retires yeah so like if he retires then yeah that makes sense um if he doesn't retire keep the baby get that load get that little get get that pocket change until he retires because you know you know especially if he lives in california it's off of uh income being made yeah that income have so exactly um 7 500 75 000 yeah yeah i don't see how anyone will take this anymore yeah 75 i'm gonna make that more in a year even with bare minimum child support yeah take my chance to just keep this there you go you know but but the same thing with the but if she wants to come out and start talking [ __ ] about him there's nothing he can do no you can sew her civil but well but even she's not going to live off so she'll involve child support i interviewed brittany renner recently about the whole pj washington situation you know and to me i was really like i don't understand what you did wrong i mean you all were together you got pregnant you know i mean it sounded like the baby was relatively planned it didn't work out y'all went your separate ways i don't know why you're being painted a villain oh it's her because i guess because it's certainly just but it's like you know but she's out doing interviews talking about all the details she played this crazy voicemail that she left him and so forth again this may just be song lyrics and i was overreacting but this was my initial response i will air this [ __ ] the [ __ ] out to leave the [ __ ] tweet you are a [ __ ] psycho [ __ ] path liar hypocrites delete the [ __ ] tweet or i will [ __ ] drag you [ __ ] i don't recognize that woman in the voice text and this is what you got to deal with as a public figure sometimes yeah you gotta deal with the person who you had a relationship with they could do whatever they want he he can't sue me over that [ __ ] he can't even sue her over that [ __ ] yeah so that's what i said he can put a gap all he can do is put his case you know your you know your ex lied on you but it doesn't sound like britney's really lying but as i'm saying he can put a gag order to not talk about the relationship can he though no yeah you can't but no because you're gonna win okay so let's say you put a gag order on her right she can't talk about you and then she goes talk about you you sue her you win then what then what she lives with her mother now no it doesn't literally you still gotta pay your child support you can't take child support no so if you're paying twenty thousand dollars a month she's gonna be twenty thousand dollars a month she owes you three million but you can't take it out of the twenty thousand dollars a month that's only if she gets a real job at twenty thousand dollars a month you don't need a real job the [ __ ] my my ex had [ __ ] two tv shows and i still couldn't get [ __ ] money out of it true you know it's just a waste of time just but but on the other end on the other end i would tell her or any mother or any you know that's future remember where your money is stimulating from right so we'll take that case you got pj tucker that is right now future watch washington i'm wpg watcher pj washington is where your money's coming from your money is coming stemming from what he makes so technically for every bread load bread load he gets you get crumbs to that right those are crumbs so you know even if you're getting 20 000 what he's making compared to what you're getting is crumbs it's cereal box money it's not alimony yeah so so what that means is the more you [ __ ] up the bread the less you get so you will want him in the public eye to look amazing exactly because if he looks amazing he looks like this great man he gets opportunities for those opportunities to court yes those opportunities whatever else and they reflect a reflect gotta remember the more loafs he gets the bigger these crumbs get so eventually you gotta remember if he signs a bigger deal he gets 20 million off the court this your child support actually increases see he's not playing you talk about him they don't want to touch him they don't want to do this they don't want to give him father your work these these these kid award shows they don't want to do nothing with them that means the bot your bottom line gets lower so going after the person whose child support you're after hurts you in the long run even though i know you're mad i know you want to get back but if it hurts his bread it hurts your bread right but the reality is is you and i very you know know very well hell hath no fury yes right like a woman she will throw any any level of logic out the window in that very moment out of pure anger and that's sin that's what they do last question what is it with this whole terrorist situation with you and nick young or you've terrorized him just mercilessly over the years um i think i i'd interview i think you and i met at some hollywood uh hills party and i remember i interviewed nick and he talked about a story about how you took the wheels off his car this one time didn't you go in his house and just start painting random [ __ ] wait wait wait what do you mean he took the rims off your car like you went outside and your wheels were closed on bricks really yeah so he put cinder blocks on your car yeah that's that's good i dealt with a lot as a rookie right there did you know it was him when you saw it yeah cuz i used to talk trash too you know i talk a lot of trash sometimes i don't get the donuts and all that on time you know some days i just didn't feel like it you know he was my rookie right and kind of like me when i was a rookie i was i was hard-headed right and for me being hard-headed i dealt with pain i got hit by a car i got i got body slammed i was choked to sleep i was tied thrown in water came back with vengeance thrown in water some more right so i i was i was beat the [ __ ] up for being who i was it was only right that i did the same thing to him so you know i give him my credit card hey can you go buy me you know some earphones and a new iphone cool he comes back he bought himself an iphone he bought himself a computer like like whoa oh this is what we're doing okay oh so i got to t i got to teach the rook a less and that's where our relation was me teaching him lessons right well you really you really trolled him mercilessly over the whole iggy azalea thing yeah yeah yeah because he gets okay so right because he ended up getting his baby mother pregnant again yeah he was i guess so he cheated so he cheats on his baby mama with iggy right she's on and he's shaking with his baby yeah yeah yeah um and i know nick young i've been to his house and everything else like that you know those parties and so forth he's a cool dude doesn't want to interview with me but whatever i think his problem i think he got the bad part of me so when he got drafted i was hurt so i'm in rock star mode so you know ladies girls you know you know i you know come over and i got my rookie over here go take care of him you know what i mean so that's what he knew you know so like having a girlfriend settling down yeah i didn't really teach him that at a young age you know so he became worse than me he became worse than me what'd you think you have a party at your house and your actual fiance lives in the house what yeah well you know she can just look at and that's what happened iggy was out of town he's throwing a big massive party at his house yeah whenever i've been to his house for parties i've never seen iggy there yeah that's i'm just saying like she don't have access to the cameras like that's what i said just right right what'd you think when d'angelo russell uh secretly recorded nick i was like dan that's [ __ ] up and then i thought yeah that's them that's them what do you mean like like it was it's like a running like joke what they used to do back then they say some dumb [ __ ] and then like record they see your response you know at least they used to do stuff like that you know so uh so i understood what happened so like you know like i'm pretty sure you gotta record like yeah [ __ ] how many uh how many girls you slept with last night yeah i slept with like sex sobbing yeah i'm like yep now i got you yep now i got you so every time i want something you better give it to me like i got the black so it's like this funny black male situation never had anything like that i know it's it's just it's not a it's not it's not like it's a thing but it wasn't really a thing yeah you know like i'm like oh he actually put it out i know i mean what i don't know if he would not think someone somebody probably saw him yeah it's pretty crazy that's what it is gilbert arenas man quite a story about a story and you have a you have a show these days yeah um no ch to be honest i've done changed the name so many times but uh it's the no it's the no chill with gilbert arenas on fubo tv tv yeah i like this one better than the uh the mia khalifa one oh yeah that one i don't think really worked no chemistry wasn't really there no you know what so funny it was amazing she's an amazing person like no she's really like like you know of course i've seen her on tv you know that tv yeah yeah and we talked we talked about it and just listening to the story i was like ooh like it was like it was like dang you feel bad because like well i didn't dance that long i was only doing it because i was pissed off at my parents you know and then you know the whole isis went after her you know disowned her you know but just listen like you know i'm trying to be taken serious so she used to we used to 30 minutes before filming we'll you know talk about the sports we talk talk we're doing this and what the reason it really didn't work is because you got to remember her life is controlled you know her comments control you know you can control the atmosphere you know you can block erase get rid of you know to have a more positive you know you know look well that shouldn't have control of so when people come on there and they just [ __ ] this [ __ ] that [ __ ] you open your mouth this and this and this and this and she's like i'm trying to i'm really trying to like like be taken serious you know like teen kids they don't give a [ __ ] about none of that they just wanna you know and they just go and go on going so whenever they whenever she looked at the comments it was it was just all negative so eventually it was like this is not fun like i want to go to the comments i want to go back to my i want to go back to my world all right you know so like you know i want to go back to a more control place you gotta remember she don't live here she don't have anybody here so it's just basically the showing home so you know you're sitting there reading you know ten thousand comments and nine thousand ninety of them is like bad you know you're like eventually that weighs so cause uh you know it weighed on her you know wait on it because i remember i i knew it was affecting me because i pulled out right i pulled out of the driveway and she's walking to get some lunch and i just honk like say hey [ __ ] off loser [Music] like she didn't look she didn't look back she didn't do nothing it was just [ __ ] you and then i had to call it yeah that was me honking so oh my god i'm so sorry i [ __ ] get honked at so much i just [ __ ] automatic response um well the new shows don't yeah yeah on the news show and you had some really great guests on there as well you know trying you know just trying to you know as an athlete you know try to try to gauge and get around you know but because you've had a lot of other uh investments and so forth i remember you were in the weed business at one point yeah is that still going i'm in the hip business now all right so you own the the farm on a farm yeah how big is the farm 501 acres nice was that your most profitable you know venture outside the nba no no it was five it was five guys oh involved yeah so it split five ways five guys yeah um but that's probably gonna be the biggest okay no no gilbert arenas man i appreciate you coming in
