so before I start this one I wanted to get with you guys real quick to let you know there is a ton of wind noise in this video and I'm so sorry but it's a really awesome bill that you're gonna love the outcome and just bear with me I'm not gonna do a whole lot to fix it because it's just bad it's bad but while I got you here I'm gonna give a shout out to somebody that seems to really be enjoying these episodes and that's Linda Leslie thanks for all your great comments Linda love having you here you guys do your best to enjoy this one [Music] hey Tron Lake notes on away [Music] [Music] what is up everybody its jack from atlantis water gardens today i'm in Bridgehampton new york east end the Long Island here with my buddy Ed draw and this is a special project and you've assembled a serious team of people to come out here and work on this let's walk through and explain what we're going to accomplish this week show me what the overall scope of this project is and then we'll go from there what we're doing here is there will be a swim pond here behind me and then the wetland filters over here the general scope of the project also includes a very large waterfall stream system off that hillside which will go down into a larger pond down below this property I've been working on for close to 15 years now within the past year or so they've decided to build this compound for their children we're adding some real exciting stuff to it as far as waterfalls and filters and swim ponds and a native fish pond and huge waterfalls but this is for their kids so starting behind us is where the pond is going what psyphon 35 by 25 they're swimming in this recreation swim pond whatever you want to call it living people in it it's gonna be a wetland filter here cool waterfall coming into it and there's a waterfall dumping off the back side of the pond to negative edge and then another motor we've got a bunch of people here a bunch of aces actually so why don't we walk around we'll go meet those people and then we'll get started doing some work around here so check it out over here we've got Charlie and Alan working on doing a retaining wall with some humongous boulders and this big machine this is what I love is working with big rocks big machines how big some of these rocks are they got to be every bit of 4 or 5 tons and there's some bigger ones gonna show you now we're gonna meet two of my closest friends charlie Holland Charlie and Alan deco you've seen before but Charlie you're you're 80 years old right and you're out here working on three let's get I've known Charlie for probably eight or nine years now yeah someone right now this is one of the hardest-working guys you're ever gonna see I love this guy to death and aloes out here as well he's you know he's a little lazy but how did you wind up out here with this whole project we met an aquascape spawn demonium 11 years ago and we became friends and then we started helping each other that's a beautiful story how did the edge drag you away from your business to come out here and work in a phone call didn't take too much dragon it's great to be a part of a project like this with everybody that's got all the top guys here right that's our you that's what's so cool about this we've got some really talented people here between Allen and Charlie and we got two more up top that we're gonna meet let's go check out shown in April it's really rare that we get this many people at this skill level on one project and that's kind of the reason we all agreed to come out here is because we love working with each other it's going to be something we're pushing and challenging big boulders big machines and here's my boy Sean going on Big Daddy now you've been working with Edgar for quite a while so what I've never worked with ed before on one of his projects what am I to expect working with it I it's a great guy to work with everything's always here the materials are always here you don't worry about that he's get good vision as far as you've worked with ed you worked with Charlie you've worked with Alan and me on all separate projects right who's the best one it's me of course so let's go meet April April keeps running into each other on these projects we do I know you and Sean have worked with Ed before I asked him what to expect he gave me a lot of nonsense what am I gonna expect working on this job actually I'm gonna be working with you and Sean on digging this pond right yeah yep so out of the three of us who's gonna be in charge I know who's in charge come on I'm excited to get started we are gonna set up now mark this pond out start excavation and we're hoping to get what done for that liner fabric yeah I think that's it get it ripped out liner fabric maybe some rocks in the foam maybe see how good you are let's get going [Music] all right we are making some good progress I'm not sure if you can hear me cuz it's a little bit windy here I don't know if it's affecting the Micra knob you look behind me the pond is pretty well done ain't real strong it's doing some shaping now to get the bottom right the challenge we're having here is we're in Long Island and there's a lot of sand and it's like a sugary types and it's not really holding the wall real well so we're over digging and then we're going to do some work later on down the road to accomodate for some of the sand falling in next thing we're working on besides the pond is the reservoir that is at the bottom here there's going to be a waterfall starting at the top where the wetland filter is going through the pond and then off the back end of the pond is another series of waterfalls goes down to the bottom section here down the bottom here we're putting a reservoir in that's going to capture all the water emotion from the waterfalls the pond and all that how many gallons is it now 4,200 gallons 4,200 gallons we've got like a six foot elevation change we've got about four feet for our octopod reservoir so when we go down the sand keeps falling in what's gonna happen is if we're not careful that whole Hill could come in with it and either really wreck the excavation or somebody's down in there could cause some problems so we've got to be really careful about what we do here we're gonna get this shaped up this reservoir in I'm working with this guy here I'll be a busy [Music] [Music] okay so the aquabox are in Sean and Charlie are working on getting our pump bolts in and then we're gonna factor all this which means we pull a liner in the fabric and surround the whole thing with sand lock it in and this is pretty much ready to go for a rock work it's the end of the day and Sean's getting testy Sean what's the problem what seems to be the problem Sean estrogen is coming out [Music] [Music] [Music] oh man we got so much done today his lower reservoirs in the liner's actually going in right now for the pond then we're calling it quits for day one we will see you guys in the morning day two we got a new member for our dream team here my buddy Ralphie's dad you've seen him before and I think we've got some stuff in store for Ralph while he's out here he's a West Coast er not a beast coaster so he's really an intruder out here so we've got some things lined up for your Ralph I'm sure people are gonna enjoy it's called Ralph's challenge if you haven't seen it before you're gonna see it here Ralph showed up last night yesterday we got the liner in the pond reservoirs pretty much any ready to go today we're setting some rocks some big ones putting the 350 to work we got the loader which is going to be carrying rocks over we'll have the other excavator going today a lot of action we're going to get a lot done because we're expecting heavy rain tomorrow which means we probably won't be able to work so we need to get some stuff accomplished today and that starts now [Music] [Music] here's a situation we are setting fig rocks we got back filling with gravel around them for a couple reasons number one stability some of these rocks like this guy here is every bit of like eight or nine tons huge rock or setting on top a liner we want a good layer of gravel underneath it so that it sits down if it twists the turns it's not gonna damage our liner we've got about a foot of gravel underneath it it also helps to disperse the weight on top of the liner or the aqua blocks depending on where we're setting it now we have the excavation behind it we can just backfill the gravel set our rocks in the gravel so if we want to just turn it this way or that way not again not worried about the liner so it works real well when you work with big boulders you got to account for all kinds of extras like the gravel and the time because there's a lot of it so right now we're in good shape we've actually got oh we are slowing down here in between these two rocks we're gonna be building another waterfall in between these two big ones here and then off the corner of the big one here there'll be a waterfall coming off the left finally once the very top where it comes up the swim pond we're gonna head up top and I'm gonna show you what these guys are up to with the pond I got Shawn who's in the machine he's working up here with April and Rao they're working on getting the bottom rock end doing a good job so far you can see the bottom section here they're starting to do some rock work on these lower walls probably today the whole bottom of the pond should be rockin I assume we're looking to do some just large frame rocks with a single spill coming down about two feet into the water this has been an amazing and highly productive two days we'll be back here tomorrow from what I hear the weather actually might not be as bad as we originally thought so we should be working tomorrow check with you guys then see ya what's up it's day three I am back in the machine we're setting rocks to try and finish this lower waterfall section and things are going really well something you might not know about me or probably don't know is that I've been at Union heavy equipment operator for over 20 years so I'm very comfortable being in a machine this is what I did every day for a living so come on big jobs like this I'm usually the one that's gonna be running the heavy equipment because I've got the experience but to be quite honest I love doing it when I get to do in situations like this when I had to run a machine every day for a living was a job now I'm out here with my buddy he's killed some cool waterfalls and having a great time we're gonna get this waterfall finished up today and then we're gonna cut it for this vlog and we'll do part two where we finished the pond get that waterfall top going and then we'll show you what this awesome project looks like when it's running so time to get busy this morning check it out [Music] [Music] all right waterfall is pretty much finished April's gonna work on doing some finished work let me show you what she's up to what's going to happen here is all our drops coming down we've got to close up these areas we want them to hold water in pool water right now we've got all gravel in here that was used to support the rock work we're gonna take this down about five inches or from the top of this rock and we're gonna put a liner inside here and it's going to get foam on the edges so we'll hold water that can cover with gravel again that is all we got for this episode this part one of this huge swim pond build we're gonna go on to part two next make sure you're watching out for that thanks for checking us out make sure you subscribe hit that button below if you want to see more of what we're doing over here - Atlantis water gardens
